So long story short, I accidentally switched to Sanctum of Rall from Isle of Janthir for 1.8k gems, I mistook it for Sea of Sorrows (the server me and friends are switching too). SoS is full, but is it possible to go back on IoJ with a refund, that way I can wait to transfer to SoS again? I know its really dumb but I was just rly excited after buying gems I didn’t notice that SoS was full and I was switching to sanctum T_T

Went from 50-60 fps constant to 20 fps constant on the lowest settings. Using an AMD graphics card and an i7.

Once I figured out you could SoloQ in TeamQ that was it. I’m literally never playing SoloQ again. No skyham/spirit watch, chance of getting organized pugs, better rewards? Why on earth would I do SoloQ.

So I’m using mystery cat tonic (panther) and I duel someone and all of a sudden he uses a spin axe move and my brawl health goes all the way to 0 and he gets credit. Seriously? Where is the skill in that. It should have a smaller radius or a longer cool-down if you want costume brawl to make it to eSports (other costumes need balancing as well).

We haven’t really gone into depth on how luck will be used – I’m just saying that it will. I’m hoping we’ll be able to preview some of the new reward system soon.

Are you keeping in mind, that probaly every pve palyer out there has more luck than a pvp player with an equal amount of time spend in GW2?

Man I thought they were done with benefiting Pve players more than the Pvp players after the skyhammer fiasco. Guess I was wrong.

I don’t think there’s a best class but I’d say the most persistent/stable class/build is bunker guardian. No matter what the meta has been/will become they will always be viable.

I put my name in the thread title so that means im God tier and you should reply accordingly. My tourney ratings are not god tier and im on NA but my name is in the thread title so k here we go. My mama raised me a straight forward thinking man who gets to the point and has integrity so im going to go against mainstream views.

What needs nerf:

Ele’s need to stay where they are. Once I see one on the enemy team I know it’s a free win (which = better rewards for me and rewards is what pvp is all about).

The thief cloak and dagger skill has the exact same parameters (.5s cast, 130 range, high cost, telegraphed), must be landed more often and is at least as critical as skull crack for many popular PvP builds.

CnD is a perfect example of a skill that has high risk and high reward. Risk being that if you miss, you lose a crap ton of initiative and are left vulnerable. Reward being you deal good damage and stealth.

Ideally, all of our high impact skills should allow for counter-play via a clearly telegraphed attack animation. It’s something we’re constantly thinking about when we look at existing skills, and doubly so when we brainstorm new ones.

There are a few skills that can be easily telegraphed/improved. I’ll list the ones I think need the tweaking most, as short as possible.

Pin Down
•The problem with Pin Down is the fact that it is (almost) instant, immobs and bleeds. I think the cast time should be moved up to 3/4 a second (like arcing arrow and the auto attack), and should display a charging effect similar to that of kill-shot or the new skullcrack (that “fiery” impactful effect). This would make it easier to tell when a warrior is using it due to the charging effect and would allow enemies to counteract the projectile itself.

Ele scepter #2/electric discharge trait
• I think making these two attacks more apparent is what’s important. Adding a higher cast time would make them almost useless, however adding some sort of react time is needed. If the lightning strikes became projectiles, you would be able to keep it insta-cast but would allow more reaction time making it dodge-able. It would work like the engi’s static discharge trait. Instant cast, but visible and apparent instead of instant cast and direct damage.

Necro Marks
•I believe the animation of casting the marks themselves are fine. When a necro uses them you can see their arm move to the side before he/she places a mark. However, the fact that pulling off marks themselves is so easy (place them in enemies general area, do dmg), I believe some change is in order. There should be a slight delay when a mark is placed before it comes active, say 3/4 a second. This would give people time to react instead of it being placed directly on them and doing damage and would also force the necro to place them correctly when used offensively.

Mantras
• Like the ele’s lightning strikes I believe these also should become projectiles. Keep the instant cast time just take away the instant damage and instead become projected damage. The velocity of the missile should be high of course, similar to Arcane Blast on ele. Meaning the projectile will travel at a fast speed making it dodge-able, but very deadly. Making these instant damage skills projectiles can also mean more combo play in fire fields and such. Although, if mantra of pain is to be dodge-able I think the dmg should be buffed.

There are skills I feel should stay instant damage of course like mesmer auto and ele scepter auto (to name a few), because these are channeled damage. The damage starts out low and then channels upwards giving more reaction time. But I don’t think powerful skills should be instant cast/instant damage, because that makes things too easy to pull off for the user.

The new skullcrack displays what every powerful skill should have. A charging, apparent, and risky animation/cast time. When timed well you can devastate your opponent, when timed wrongly you get punished. I’ve come to (almost) master the new skull crack, by timing the charge with the guardians invulnerability elite to stun them right before they can press their virtues. I honestly think every instant cast that deals heavy burst/cc/condi needs this kind of animation.

How can you say you feel kind of bad about it and than say “I can’t say for sure but I may end up doing this on a regular basis” in the same post. Regardless of your personal opinion of the map you let 4 people down on purpose because you don’t like seeing SH in soloQ. I can’t stand the map either but I also can’t stand being a jerk and ruining the match for four other dudes. This thread does nothing to push the issue of SH and instead displays that there needs to be a heavy penalty for people like you.

Yeah this glitch happens with all signets (in custom arenas/hotjoins) if you join after the match has started. Like Oblivion said it needs to be refreshed in order to fix it.

Jesus Christ guys. People that do a mix of soloQ and teamQ are going to get slightly more daily AP than others. Why the hell is that a problem? Because you won’t be able to keep up? Sorry but if you aren’t able to adapt/do different content, why the hell do you call yourself an AP hunter? Just call yourself a AP farmer, because that’s all you are willing to do, farm. If they made more achieves obtainable in kitten y ezpz hotjoins you wouldn’t be complaining. Why? Because hotjoins are easy, where as teamQ/soloQ you have to try to actually win.

Guess what guys, it’s called soloQ for a reason, you can queue solo. Yes, you are going to lose some matches which may prolong the process, but hey what’s an achievement if you aren’t working for it? As for teamQ, it is almost as easy as getting a dungeon group together. Find four people to do it with and run the queues (you can even duo Q if you want). Again, if you and you partners aren’t that great it will take some work but if you really want the extra AP to compete then you will have to get better and learn the game-type.

Also do you really think Anet is that stupid that they think extra AP points are going to bring in esports? You think that Anet thinks the old teams are going to go “Hey guys look you can get extra AP by doing pvp dailies, lets go back to the game!”. No, they won’t, and arena net doesn’t believe that they will come back for that reason. I hope that the AP hunters that are willing to do more content will rise to the top due to the amount of QQ, because they deserve it.

I know they are desegregating the Pvp and Pve players by allowing the gear to transfer both ways, but will there be any pvp sweg that will have to be earned by say, doing tourneys? I just reached 50 last night and while the CoF gear is sweet looking, on dec 10th everyone is going to have CoF gear. I could care less if people look alike, but at the same time rank 50 has taken a year for me obtain and is pretty much my form of a “Legendary”. I’m certain pve players would be upset if there was a patch that made legendaries cost 12g and 25,000 glory or all you had to do was a couple of dungeon runs and you get twilight.

So are there going to be any skins that you can get from doing pvp only?

The game has been released 469 days ago (467 days before this post was made). That means that you would have a mean of 302 477,5 points per day (302 477,5 points everyday since the game exists) or 12603,2 points per hour (and 11208 hours played)…

Good luck with that ! The first dragon rank is not for the close future I think !

In seriousness though, what you saw was not dueling. We have to ability to change our teams using cheats, which would cause a free-for-all in the lobby. What you really want is only two players hostile towards each other, which is much more complicated that using teams.

Can you do this instead? this sounds much much better Free for all in lobby sounds like the best time Ever, put it on a timer like every 15 minutes o_O

Maybe there can be a free for all pit you can jump into People trying to duel would get angry if other’s jumped in though.

Free for all pit like in the old days of WoW would be a great start.

  • it should be 1-1.25K/h, this would make it on par with casual PvE

Reward for tPvP wins: to low

  • it should be at least 50s and 30s for soloQ and 70s and 50s for teamQ. 50/50 w/l would make it 2.4 and 3.2G/h. This still means that players dedicated( to tPvP can only make 1/3 of what players dedicated(farming champ trains) to PvE will make…

Armor prices: acceptable

  • up prices a bit if you up the gold earned for tPvP

If they implement the changes as they are, they won’t be attracting any new/old players to the pvp community. The gold reward and pace at which you’ll be leveling will just be to low.

I like that reward amount, but I think they should keep the amount you get from losing the same as they have it now (very low). 50s for losing is too much imo

What makes me upset the most is the people who will benefit from the new vendor the most will be the pve skyhammer farmers. They already do pve enough to have enough gold for the pvp cultrals, and the pvp dungeon gear, and since they farmed they have the glory too.

Mystic Forge : Will mystic forge pvp crafting still be a thing, and if so will it play a even bigger part with the new rewards system?
What’s coming first? : Ladders or new game-modes.
Will you hold back? : A big topic right now is the skhyammer farmers. Taking this in mind, will you minimize the amount of rewards that current glory-holders will get due to to those farmers?
Will we stand out? : Are titles going to be the only thing that will distinguish us from the pve community?

  • Gold should be awarded inside tournament chests, not at the end of a match win.
  • PvP accessories should should work in only 1 direction: from pvp to pve, not from pve to pvp. It takes far more time and effort to obtain pvp skins. Consider Flame Legion armor in pvp… This took me 7 months (to reach rank 50). In pve it would only take a few days farming tournament tokens. You cannot equate the two. Skins mean something very different in pvp than in pve.

Are people seriously QQ’ing over the loss of ranks? You will get a new fancy title once they do remove it, and you will be represented by your division in the ladder (teamQ/soloQ) instead of showing “rank”. Why on tyria would you want them to keep the same grindy purple bar that either shows off how often you farmed/how often you played the game. Sure I won’t get to say “Hey guys, I’m rank 51”, but who in their right mind thinks “ranks” are respectable anyways.

Now I’ll have goals to stride for. Like moving up in divisions, gettin’ dat cash money and showing off any sweg I earn.

I think first they will release the new glory vendor that sells the Tomes of Knowledge. While the vendor is up they will advise us to spend all of our glory on the tomes, give us a notice with a date of the vendor’s removal, then on that date they will remove the vendor and wipe everyone’s glory. As for how long the notice is, no clue.

On the looking forward for 2013 blog post there was mention of new skils, however 2013 has only gained one new skill and it’s pve only(the heal skill). In the recent pvp rewards blog post there’s mention of new healing skills that will be available in pvp too. Will we ever get new utilities/elites? Do people want new utilities/elites?

Most importantly, add more rocks for me and my guild to stand on and snarl at people approaching in the lobby.

Just redo the entire mist section a year from now, a better and more fun environment is definitely of importance if the pvp in this game would actually pick up. Otherwise, you should be able to manage with the few rocks out there now :P

They plan on making a bigger Hotm I believe, but they said it would be down the road. Lets hope it’s cross-server.
