Imo, for a pve focused game you can’t expect pvp to be so balanced, to every build or class be equally good against any other. Anet wanted it like that, wanted every class to have the ability to play all roles, and it didn’t went very well (overwhelming majority of useless traits, stats, gear….). At first, I was excited about the idea of freedom of build, but it turned out to be “Jack of all trades, master of none.”
Plus, how can it be balanced when they mostly focused on rushing new insignificant stories past 2 years. Still, abilities are more balanced for pvp than antyhing else.
I agree with the lack of ‘’value put in individuality and individual manifestation of skill’’ tho. It ultimately killed my motivation to even play, but Anet seems to be happy, constantly praising brainless and skilless, chest collecting community they created.

Well, I agree with OP. They’re plant. Why can’t they grow longer leaves? I always expected them to have amazing ’’hair’’styles, but then… branches, pinecones and flowers growing right from the brain. Ew.

I think that healing/condition ascended jewelry I’ll never use is an even worse reward than 20 Mawdrey pieces taking space in my bag. So, for all achievements in seven chapters it’s 30 silver total. Such reward, wow.

Has Living Story failed?

Not everyone dislikes the living story and believes it to be a failure. Of course people are going to want more and it’s split into two week segments compared to an expansion. However, you’re going to still have the same gap without new content whether it be with the LS or an expansion. The only difference being the duration of the gap.

During these times, people will come and go. That’s what happens in all MMO’s. Do you think there there will be as many players actively playing WoW right now compared to a couple months from now once they’ve exhausted the new content? Likely not. Remember how everyone seemed to come back to GW1 once news of GW2 was released and people worked on their HOM?

The living story format is very much part of GW2. If you prefer your content in large chunks, I suggest not playing any of it until it’s reached your desired size. If this still isn’t enough then unfortunately this may no longer be a game that you’ll enjoy.

Yes, people come and go, but not that many, not that quick, and not for so long.
It took me only 2 months to level up, explore the world, finish the story, fully gear two characters and visit all eight dungeons in game, “now what?”. Nothing really, for at least two more years. This living story thing should be nothing more than a background for something bigger, simply because it lacks content and replayability. They had some nice ideas in the past, new dungeon path, world bosses, but they make it so annoying and exhausting, I can’t play more than it’s necessary for achievements. Living story is no real content, just a few time gated achievement grind events which I don’t even remember. Where is the team that designed this game? It feels so different now. I was amazed by GW2 when I first saw it, but it feels like it’s getting worse, because designers have absolutely no idea what to do. They come up with ideas on the spot, how it’s supposed to be interesting? It’s their game and they don’t know how to create an interesting plot or a challenging fight? (no, not knockback, pushback, pull, push, immobilize, instant kill, and dps impossible to reach on a map full of random people).
Speaking about WoW, this game is 10 years old. Big part of it was obsolete, too long, unnecessairly annoying by now, but they learn, they change and improve. And the story wasn’t ever cheesy, not even pandas. People, including me are still playing WotLK on private servers, and it’s 7 years old. I can’t compare it to shredded pieces of content every 2 weeks for a year (and in game almost 3 years old, they had TBC, GW2 had Scarlet).
And yes, I prefer larger pieces of content, only I need to pay for it, if I don’t log in on time. Choice between: make myself play right now, pay to play later, or don’t play at all, ever.

It actually makes them more lazy. I would never recommend someone who is new to the game to use a guide.

I’m not a new player but his guides is what keeps me in this game. I would never complete most of the achievements without Dulfy, and achievements are my reason to play.

One word: disappointment

When the Silverwastes appeared I thought that this will be really interesting change. New story + new map mechanics, it was very promising. But with every episode it’s getting worse and worse to the point I don’t even wanna do it anymore, just like Scarlet or Dry Top. Jesus, just hire real gamers, they know what gamers want. This is so dull I don’t even know what to say.
I don’t really care for the story, but since this game is story based, I just wanted to believe I can still enjoy this game some more than daily achievement grind and logout. This story could be interesting, but not like this… not 10 min waiting when they’ll stop talking and let me play. Plus I hate Kasmeer Marjory duo, but this is just my personal opinion.
Even worse is that Anet said they’ll never make us grind. And what is this? First, they screw up and let people earn hundreds of gold from countless bandit chests, now they create gold sinks and make us pay for their mistakes and spend gold for skins that should be a REWARD for completing this broken living story. It was my goal to complete the luminescent armor (even though I don’t really like it, but it’s better than nothing), now I regret all the time spent on previous parts, because I refuse to grind even more, and pay so much for my “rewards”. What kind of logic is this? Where is this going? I think I need a break from this game, I’ve lost interest even in dailies since there is no perspective :/
More jumping puzzles, coins and repetitive events are not endgame.

Issue with zerg shoveling

This seems utterly broken.

I farmed about a 100 bags with a zerg and ended up quitting out of boredom, not because I ran out of keys, badges, or shovels. It’s a free loot giveaway and I’m expecting it nerfed Monday.

I agree. 100 bags yesterday, over 400 today in only few hours. And I didn’t even need to have shovels. It’s an endless farm, I have more Bandit Crests than I can spend on more keys (still have over 200 keys and few Crest stacks).
If it’ll remain like this, all prices on TP will fall to minimum.
Anet, do something or it will break this game more than Scarlet invasions and champ farm. Make it so Crests will not drop from Bandit Chests or at least add some other items that can be bought for Crests.

There are just too many ‘smart’ ways to profit from others work. I mean whole game, not just dungeons, but dungeons are probably the only content demanding for everyone involved.
Maybe in GW2 it’s just low standard community issue. It’s not normal in other games to have that much complains about abusing that kind of things. Kicks happen everywhere, I can live with that, but I’ve never seen things being that bad in any other mmo. When doing fractals I’m literally not sure if I make it to the end. Because who knows, maybe there is someones guildie needing the last boss?
I’m also disappointed in peoples behavior almost everyday, and I’m doing only CoF p1 for months now. Other dungeons just take too much time and effort, I’m not a babysitter willing to carry half of the group, which is really painful when you’re maybe one of two people knowing what “zerker speedrun” means.
It usually ends with kick during the first boss for people leeching on others, and I think that this feature is necessary. Otherwise I would be forced to leave my own dungeon and start everything over, hoping for better group. But my point is: I think that there should be a real party leader that cannot be kicked out of his dungeon. I mean, when I’m the one who is looking for a group, you can assume that I will lead the dungeon, and you join on my terms (description in LFG).
Maybe it’s just my habit from WoW, where the party leader was random, but you always gave it to most experienced player, usually the tank, because he leads the group anyway, and I miss it in GW2. Lack of real leader causes a lot of problems, people just randomly join and do whtever they want. The immunity from being kicked would be just a reward for the efforts of a person gathering the group, because when you join me and you kick me, I would be really angry, I would definitely report you, and I godkitten hope there would be consequences, not just “thanks, we will look into it”.

I’ll preface by saying I’m not trying to sound elitist by this. I understand players all come with different skill levels and that’s fine. But trying to get the spider achievement has been disastrous to the point of frustrating. People simply cannot seem to kill the cocoons or they don’t range the spider or straight up don’t listen to people trying to give tips. It’s all just zerg zerg zerg the boss like the achievement is just to kill it. I know, some people could give a kitten about achievements. It’s just the fact that the concept is so simple and we’ve done it before with Tower of Nightmare in Kessex Hills. We wait an hour or so for the thing to spawn, and someone runs right up to it alone rather than group up away from it, gets cocooned, and the achievement is gone in 5 seconds. I know there are more severe problems right now with achievements, but I can’t believe how badly the spider achievement has gone for me xD.

Sadly, this game is overfilled with people like this. But from what I’ve heard and experienced myself, she doesn’t cocoon melee players, and it looks like it’s true. Gather group of at least 10 people, explain to melee and see if it works. (yes, I know they always range, but 10 melee people will destroy this single cocoon rather quickly)

I did that without a tag, and everyone except those who saw me never get pulled followed, while the others on another side of the knights get pulled every single time until we killed it…… so yeah, so much good for teaching them…. they don’t even care to dodge at all…….
Well, you can’t forced them too anyways, they are playing how they want to play…. so be it… I get my champ boxes, they get their champ boxes…..

I know they don’t care, I even write in /say chat so everyone around could see – still nope. Champ boxes are not enough for me. I’m angry every time I try to do something more than CoF, and game isn’t supposed to make me angry. It will never change, because they want it to be “open world” content (in closed areas restricted to 150 people “open”). I need some good new mmo.

Elementalists feel... Weak

I don’t want to say I’m 100% confident with correctness here, but when I play my Elementalist… She feels weak.

Like squishy /and/ dies a lot. Her damage output feels lacking, even with full ‘Zerker gear and traits. I’m wondering if this is just me or if Ele’s in general are just that squishy and pathetic. It feels like throwing sticks at a boulder.

My Elementalist was my first 80, but now I feel so pathetic on her when I use her. Clothies should be high damage, but I feel like Ele’s have almost the lowest damage in the game.

I feel the same way about ele. It’s supposed to be best ranged caster with high damage, but I have a feeling that only zerker thief is squishier than zerker ele. I think it’s because of water attunement. You’re supposed to heal yourself much better than other professions, so your damage and survi is lower. But the truth is that heals are really really weak unless you’re cleric, but then your damage is close to 0. I can’t figure out how to make ele better or at least enjoyable. It’s good for nothing, even in soldiers gear I can’t even gather materials in Orr, when my zerker warrior barely notice mobs damage.

That’s not the spirit of teamwork and coordination, you’re supposed to be a kitten teacher during your playtime. Spend your own 100g on blue mark and yell on map chat “DODGE THIS HUGE ORANGE CIRCLE” or nobody will listen to you. You’re supposed to help those poor souls, not exclude them, and we don’t care if you don’t want to deal with them.

“I want pre-Scarlet LS back…” Ummmm…. I dunno how to break this to you, but “LS” was all about Scarlet, even when we didn’t know her name. Holidays, Southsun, SAB and Teq are the only LS (and are they really LS with their content?) updates that weren’t about Scarlet. Check the list at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Release.

Well I don’t really care what was this about, I care about quality. And by pre-Scarlet I mean before she appeared personally. Her invasions ruined this game, whole event was a giant brainless zerg pressing 1. Since that moment people only care about champions and trains, and LS encourages them to do so. It’s really sad considering this IS the endgame and theres nothing better to do.

Plus, it’s official servers issue. Everything should work properly, but every event is somehow bugged and people get frustrated.

Like a lot of other aspects of the game, ArenaNet endeavors to keep people playing by wasting their time chasing carrots rather than providing fun content that people will want to play because it’s, you know, fun. People should want to be doing content because they’re having a blast, not because “I’ve sunk so much time into this already I might as well keep going until I get this stupid achievement.”

This is what happens when all content gets designed around mega guilds.

Time to start rewarding quality over quantity unless you want all the small servers and guilds to simply die out.

They died, over a year ago. And are still dying out. But new players keep coming, so the servers population is theoretically high or very high. But where are the people? They aren’t playing endgame content or living story at all. Anet doesn’t have a choice now, quality of most GW2 players is the lowest I’ve ever seen in any mmo, and they reward it with events like this.
I want pre-Scarlet LS back…

You seem to have missed, that my answer was an ironic approach to the so called “difficulty” of playing in melee range in regards of this post:

I like ranged combat, it allows me to play and sip a c’ocktail at the same time. It also requires coordination to sync drinking and pressing dodge key every minute.

Actually I noticed that was ironic, but your answer suggested melee is a total faceroll and it’s better to afk in the back. Haviz is right, I could easily cook a dinner during Knight fight if it wouldn’t pull and lose target every minute. Knights and holograms are a huge waste of time, even bigger because of ranged. Only difficulty of this event is to stay awake, and I have to admit it IS hard.

I like melee combat, I just press auto attack once and if anything happens, I just wait to get an insta rezz for the rare case that I get down.

You seem to forget all aoe buffs, healing, condi clean, fields and blasts. Let us know when you’ll get all of these (or at least insta rezz) staying at 1200.

First attempt: knocked by a bubble right in the laser field about 10 seconds before holo disappeared… Second and third: hit by an invisible laser that came out of nowhere. Fourth: didn’t get the achievement just because. Can’t wait for more when I’ll finally manage to Desolation main again.

So you’re saying ranged requires skill and coordination? You mean “press V every 2 minutes to avoid pull”? Actually melee is always harder and more rewarding. Ranged in this game is nothing more than press 1 and afk for 20 minutes. But careful, don’t deal too much damage or you might get noticed by boss! I absolutely love shortbow thieves or glorious bearbows, hitting like 20 lvl warrior and proud they’re dying last.

100% agreed with OP. It’s very annoying that every-single-event is bugged for at least few days, but achievements are still so time consuming. I feel like I’m on some kind of beta or private server. Even some private servers are less buggy, especially when they earn money, they care about enjoyment from playing on their server. Gw2 is almost 2 years old but nothing changed. Bugged achievements, loot, mobs, skills, textures, frequent crashes, sudden changes to the content and strategy… Looking forward to see Gw2 Final version.

Most of these achievements are impossible for regular person now. Either you’re lucky enough to fight with group of good players, or you can waste your time doing it over and over again and fail every time.
Last uptade was an example of good design and rewards for teamwork, but this is just going back to Marionette, where you’re just 1% of your own achievement…

Another event for Desolation (or other top servers) population only. At least my server is not even close to kill blue hologram which is pathetic.
Don’t forget all abandoned events during this fight, you have 20 mins for champion achievements or learn to solo, sucker!
Forge ugly back to even try to stomp Scarlet about 20 times, while you can’t skip 5 minutes long lesbian story. Another great achievement for equipping exotic back that I don’t even want.
What’s left for me if the only fun in this game is from doing achievements?

Seriously people? This encounter is nothing more than “press 1 to win”. A lot of mobs, few champions (no bags), then finally one minute fight with the only one demanding champion, and most people fail. Never again, please. Even legends in Mad King labyrinth were better than this.

I like difficult achievements, but it doesn’t mean “impossible if everyone except you fail”. My platform is always successful, and one platform always fail. I can try till I die, but I won’t get my achievement, how is this fair? Oh yeah, and you can’t be downed when warden dies. I guess it’s my fault that I deal damage and get aggro. Sorry, won’t happen again…
Also, my server is empty, so I need to guest every time to at least try in overflow. I completed the event over 10 times in last 2 days, and I STILL need 5th warden and 3 dodge achievements, but I physically CAN’T complete it, because apparently killing a champion is too hard for those people (however no problem in Queensdale :o). Anet only forces players to carry noobs “they fail, you fail”. Much fun, such cooperation.
Maybe if we don’t get achievements when others fail, we also should get all achievements when others succeed? Yeah, I’d like them to consider that option in next update.

It’s not just necromancer, I have the same feeling for every profession. Only reasonable build for damage is power melee, doesn’t matter if you’re warrior, ele or >ranger< (oh the irony). I thought that GW2 will be a game where everybody can play how they want (ie pistol thief), but I realised that everyone can be just a wannabe warriors. With lower survi. And damage. And worse utility. And useless pets.

Seriously? In WoW you have to be in good guild, raid a lot and you can’t be sure you’ll get anything in weeks..

Which was why I never wanted to play WoW. Saying that it is ok in GW2 because WoW is like this, doesn’t make this any better.

The last thing we need is to make GW2 into a WoW-wannabe.

I’ve never said that it’s better or GW2 should be like this, don’t make things up. I just can’t understand how can people say that first and, so far, only new gear is so grindy and casual unfriendly. It can be CRAFTED, anytime. Nothing grindy about that. GW2 is the most casual friendly game I’ve ever seen, hardcore players gave up long ago and left. Everything that requires a little effort is a reason for threads like this, that’s why this game will never fully satisfy anyone. If people don’t want any changes, I think they should have stay on Tetris. This is MMO and new gear or level cap will be always main goal for progress.

NOOOOO what a unfair grindfest! Who can possibly afford that luxury, exotic is so expensive and time consuming!
Seriously? In WoW you have to be in good guild, raid a lot and you can’t be sure you’ll get anything in weeks. In GW2 I was 80 and full exotic after first month of the game. You don’t even have to play to get gear in this game. Stop crying. At least they finally did what they promised, it’s something new (that doesn’t involve Scarlet!), but apparently people have a need to complain about everything they release.

I think it’s not Worth it. But it’s something you can do to level up faster, and get ascended gear at 80 if you’ll need it.
Chef can be always useful, as for jeweler – it depends, but mats are more expensive than item, and it’s the least useful crafting because ascended accesories can only be bought for laurels/fractal relics/guild commendations. For leveling, it’s better to buy stuff from TP or from hearts vendors. Even champion loot bags are better, because it always drop green items with runes for your actual level.

You know.. I have a family and a full time job, and like video games. I decided to get this game cause it was supposed to be balanced. Your win/lose situation on WvWvW (I don’t play dungeons) would depend on player’s ability, not on gear.

Now all this craze about making ascended armors and weapons. I definitive DON"T have the time to farm stuff and laurels and bla bla bla don’t know what other stuff needed to make a set or a weapon. Even the hardcore gamer’s that can have the time to farm are complaining about the difficulty and the TIME to getting the mats.

Soon, lots of people that can afford to play this game all day, will have ascended stuff vs the normal players that the most they can afford is exotic.

This game is just becoming like the rest of online FARMING video games. If I wanted to do hardcore farming, I would play Farmville, for Christ’s sake.

You know that games are made for people that have the time to play? When threads like “I have a family and a full time job” stop appearing everywhere? Nobody really cares and nobody forces you to play whole day.
You don’t play dungeons = you don’t run fractals, so you don’t need agony resistance. Difference in stats is minimal, many people won’t even bother to change whole gear, what is the problem then? Every game requires farming, that’s the point of mmos, farm your way (one or another) to be the best, or be casual for ever.

Clones are mostly useless, mobs tend to ignore them completely and even when they magically pull aggro once a year, they die really fast. I liked staff when leveling, very good for more than 2 mobs. Around 70lvl I switched to sword/focus and greatsword for burst. For maximum damage start with gs (4, 2, 3), then switch to s/f, gather mobs, summon phantasm warden and use blurred frenzy. Everything should be dead by now. If it’s not, you have focus 4 and greatsword 5, it will buy you some time to escape or heal.

My fault if warriors died from agony...

So i ran fractals level 23 with a group of 1 mes 3 warriors and me as a Guardian, there was 2 warriors with 6k and 9k AP and everything went fine until Molten Berserker. What happened is, the 2 warriors were too bad at dodging and got stomped by agony from the waves, they eventually died and me too because i was the only one alive yet, then they accuse me for being the cause of the wipe because i didn’t res them which is pointless because when they were down they had 2 stack of agony. Then they start saying i suck and that i’m the bane of the group, the cause of all their problems because of my 2,6k AP. A sad thing happened then: they both kicked me for that. I actually never seen this before but kicking because i have less AP after all i did for them is disgusting. They can’t admit their own faults so they turned upon me and kicked me for that…

Don’t bother. Next time someone say you suck because you have less achievements, tell them you don’t need to be living story farmer to play well. People think that those with 10k+ are the best players, but most of them are just farmers who play mostly in Living Grindfest and usually are worse than others. Just tell them to shut up and learn to play, I would also report them for that kind of behavior. Don’t let them think they are better and have a right to insult you. Find a guild with nice people and avoid pugs, LFG community in this game is repulsive.

the only way to against that kind of evade-prevent agony is to buy(or farm) a high agony resistance gear.

You can’t buy AR gear, just saying. You can easily buy rings for laurels or pristine relics and infuse. No farm needed.
Imo, if you can afford 1850 relics backpiece, you could afford 75 relics infusion. If you can’t spare few relics on agony resistance, then just play level 10. Complaining about how fractals work is pointless, agony is there since the beginning so you have a choice: play higher levels or don’t.

Of couse we do not need to farm in this game. Greens and blues are for free. Nobody is forcing you to farm ascended backpiece, you can wear the one from personal story or from orr temples. Ever since Fractals came out it created problems and a lot of players left this game because of fractals.

Everything related with fractals…. it always creates problems.

How many players play level 30~50 fractals? probably 0.0005% of all gw2 community.

When will Anet realize ppl dont like fractals…….

My conclusion is Fractals must be gone forever…Fractals will never be gw2 it never was and it never will be past and future~ period.It must be gone……

The best contents of this game was “The Tower of Nightmares”….it was by far the best MMORPG contents ive ever played. that is wat i call GW2.

If this is not a joke, then I feel sorry for you. Enjoy boring and stupid Tower and leave the only challenging content alone.

There are a lot of situations where self healing isn’t enough. This is especially true for people running glass cannons. If everyone is running hybrid builds just to have a chance at surviving, dps might suffer too much. Also, healing turret is a very strong heal. It has a large aoe radius, removes two conditions, makes a water field, casts quickly and has a low cooldown. Solo or group, healing turret has a lot of merit.

It isn’t selfish to expect people to play and build like they are in a group when they are in a group. What’s selfish is joining a group while having no desire or intent to work with them.

So, it’s understandable to get more apprehensive about being a team player when you’re with bad players? You do realize that only makes things worse right? Your party members could clearly use assistance that you can provide, but you refuse to give any. How often does that make success more likely?

What situations? I can’t recall any. I’m using glass cannon builds on every character excluding guardian and I don’t need anybody to heal or buff me. It’s nice, but it’s not something to be expected from pugs. Every profession have its own ways to survive, and wannabe supports are annoying because I expect fast run without problems, not long run with tons of unnecessary healing. Focus on your own damage and survival; if you play well, it shouldn’t be a problem. If it is, you should consider changing your build or gear.
Also I didn’t said I’m playing selfish build. Actually I like being useful, unlike many people, but I don’t demand any support from my team (and usually don’t get any). But if they’re good players, they’ll play well and that’s enough for me.
Topics like this are only for whining: someone died in dungeon and is frustrated, because it’s others fault, not his. Where’s your Disenchanter?!

How is this selfish? Everyone can heal themselves, and healing whole group doesn’t hurt only ele when swapping attunements. Self heals are better than aoe, because you can move and it often have additional effects for your profession.
And why would mesmer use iDisenchanter instead of many other better utilities? Nobody needs this just for people who can’t handle their own condi removal.
You are selfish expecting people to change their playstyle to focus just on helping you.
When I see how people don’t care when I’m dying under their feet, I understand why others run selfish builds. Bad players, bad players everywhere. Also more and more people level in Living Grindfest or Queensdale train, and they run the same builds in dungeons, because they have no idea about being helpful.

I think builds are the same as usual: 30 water, 30 arcana and 10 whatever for both weapons. December 10 patch maybe will bring some changes for eles.

I don’t know why people still complain about Mesmer/Guardian/Warriors groups. It’s not about heavy armor, kitten . It is about efficiency. Mesmers bring reflects, time warp and mass invisibility when needed. Guardians bring reflects, buffs and healing. Warriors bring the best damage buffs with banners and they do great damage by themselves.
Necros bring nothing, rangers are bad (yea I know Brazil build and run one on my ranger, but this profession still sucks compared to others), and only a good thief is worth anything, but most of them camp shorbow being useless. Eles are awesome, but most people camp staff, because they can’t play melee. Don’t force people to play with something useless, because fractals are about your utility in the group.
But still I don’t think you will be kicked if playing something other than meta. Leaderboards won’t change anything for group setups, bad builds still will be played, and bad players still will be joining high level fractals. As long as poeple won’t care about being useful, nothing will change. You can force Anet to finally do something about it, I would be very glad to finally make use of my 8 characters in PVE, not 3.

Seriously, this is the kitten iest “I’m taking my ball and going home” post I’ve read in a while.

I’m not taking anything or going anywhere, just saying how it is for me. Anet loves to change rules during the game without any communication, that’s why I’m “kittening (?)” about it. Constant nerfs won’t encourage people to play. And account bound daily rewards won’t encourage people to play with different professions than mesmer/guardian/warrior(s). Fractal backs will be even more time consuming because you can only get 1 daily chest per account, not 5 or 10 if you like. The game is going in strange direction which I don’t like and I think I actually can complain on this change. I don’t like to be forced to spend whole weeks on farming because of account bound reward, like they did to dungeons. They want you to have multiple characters, but punish you for that.

That’s why I’m not putting any effort into anything in this game. No legendary, no high level fractals, no nothing – it’s not worth it. Only thing I do is achievement grinding (and dungeons from time to time), because I know I’ll eventually get some reward from it. They don’t reward better players, they reward farmers and casuals for being worse than hardcores. It’s like they would ask “Would you kindly leave queensdale train for a minute and start playing our content, please?”. They’re just punishing for being over average and making things easier to achieve by anyone without effort. I can’t find anything challenging (in fun way) and worth my time in this game. I’m happy I’m only frac level 31 and I didn’t bother to level it on any other character. Initially I didn’t want to struggle with brainless pugs once more, but now I’m so glad, because they would just throw away my hours of pain just to make few people go back to fractals for a week.

I just wanted to shout my complete and utter admiration for your brilliance in matching servers.

Not only did you manage to pair up the lowest ranking servers with any others, but – my best congratulations – numbers like servers haveing zergs of 100+ to servers like Vabbi (mine) with zergs at best of 30+ (if at all, most times we have 10-20).

It is now like our esteemed skilled zergies are splitting up their zergs, because 50 are enough already.

Using superior siege as defence and oil and so on did not even slow those masses.

I really would like to see the actual population numbers of the servers.
As long as there is no cap on entering WvW based on server population, WvW is just pathetic.

Yes, we are fighting back.
Yes we are killing those others guerilla style.
Yes we switch borders to get keeps and towers and so on.
Yes, we try to use any advantage we can muster.

And no, this is not whining.

It is just no fun (most of the time), if you just get steamrollered and there is nothing you can do to change this fact.

And yes, one could switch server – if i wanted to.
But this would not solve the problem(s).

I would ask Arena net for some inforamtion and, i would really appreciate it, some attempts to solve it or even a solution.

I totally understand you. My server is now fighting with Vabbi and Drakkar Lake, this match is just pathethic. I feel really sorry for Vabbi because it’s the lowest population server, it’s laughable that we can’t take a single tower without Drakkar 100 people zerg attacking us. They have ALL in Eternal, ALL their border, most Vabbi and most Blacktide. How servers like ours can be matched with them? We lost our last match and we’re now paired with even BETTER server? Even though Blacktide is “Very high” populated, people doesn’t play WvW and in weeks like this it’s just even more pathetic than usual… I just wanted my living world to be done, but it’s impossible to even gain a single rank there, because they have huge zerg in every possible place. And even better is that they make fun of us, letting us damage gate to 10% and then killing all of us /laughing. Very encouraging, indeed.
I will now stop complaining, but game is supposed to be fun, not torment.

I think the worst part of GW2 is that we don’t have a real choice. There is always the “one and only, best” way to play. Most gear stats are useless, most weapons too. Every profession have only one weapon that is really good, but of course it’s a melee weapon. Everyone have to play melee if they want to deal good damage. Ranged is considered “bad” and it really is, in most cases. GW2 is the first game that forced me to play something like elementalist or necromancer in melee. I don’t like it, but I play it so I don’t have to struggle with mobs. But even worse thing is that we can’t make our own choice about weapon skills, so it’s really boring if someone plays only one profession most of the time. I’m tired of doing same things every fight. In every aspect of the game, we’re forced to do things the way Anet wanted, which isn’t exctiting at all. After playing WoW long time I was really glad that I’m done with the “one and only good build” thing, but I’m disappointed how it turned out.

Blurred frenzy seems to be a bit broken, since i got killed few times during evade, especially in TA spiders part. It’s like it could dodge certain amount of attacks.

I can’t follow your logic, I’m not sure if theres any. I would feel discriminated if someone block my server, just because of his xenophobic behavior. Why do you think you have a right to call someone an idiot because he wants to join your dungeon group and doesn’t speak your language? He just wanted to go and do it, instead of talking with you. Gather your party on your own servers chat if you don’t want to be “disturbed by random people” in LFG tool, lol.

The real grindy part of this game is the ascended gear crafting and to some extend dailies. Seriously 500 Empyreal Fragment and to a lesser extend Dragonite Ores per weapon is ridiculous. If Anet lower that to 200 or double or triple the Empyreal drops things would be fine.

I think every person that actually play pve don’t have to complain about ascended mats drop. It’s nearly everywhere: chests, dungeons, fractals, wvw… I throw away full stacks, daily, and I don’t want more.

In my opinion skill 2 fails way too often. I can’t decide about the direction, so sometimes I put myself in even worse position. I want to teleport AWAY from my enemy, not right under his feet, which happens a lot to me.

For those who only want p4 completed for DM, it is a hassle for them. They are not interested in anything more.

So… to earn an achievement you don’t even have to play the content, amazing achievement indeed. What kind of game let things like this happen? GW2 is so casual-oriented, sometimes it’s just funny what people want: “Less content, I don’t have time to play that much!”, “I don’t wanna do the dungeon, but I want tokens and achieves!”
