Ok first of all, I play both and can tell you right now that as a 15k zerker ranger i had alot more survivability than my marauder warrior had. But with that out of the way, you guys are missing the real problem here. Rifle is bad for mechanical reasons and theres a giant inconsistency between rapid fire and volley and its not the dmg. It’s the fact that a ranger can stand still and use rapid fire and it will auto track the target full circle even if the target teleports behind you.

volley gets cancelled when this happends. So which one is it? Should they both cancel or should they both track? Rifle is terrible at close range or in the middle of fights mostly because of this reason , the whole weapon gets shut down because of its positional weak spots. No ground target skills and no skills that can be casted backwards is where the rifle on warrior differs to other class weapons that work similar to this mechanically.

If you have a coordinated team then berserker is going to have more tricks they can do for teamplay otherwise anything a berserker can kill a warrior can probably already kill.
Then it comes down to the real problem which is traitlines being that you’re probably gonna have to get rid of the defense line if you’re going to berserker in the first place meaning to some degree you’re probably easier to kill and warrior in general is pretty easy to focus because they don’t have any fancy stealth or teleport disengage.

In short , solo queue will probably be annoying with pugs not knowing how to take advantage of your setups in a teamfight. Otherwise a full voice communication team I would think would be better off with berserker.

Evis range was nerfed long long ago and I don’t remember there ever being any explanation. Also if ur using marauder u have less ferocity than you would have had pre june 23rd patch ( For those who try to replicate old zerker stats )

I Recently started using this to most success since june 23rd patch. Great Dmg pressure and cleave, with signet of rage you’ll often see 20+ stacks of might, can reach 25 but on average this build typically sits around 17+ naturally.

Personally I dont care for rampage as i do dmg more reliably without and it feels good to have some swiftness back to help with disengages when needed along with bulls charge for extra distance.

Notes and things to Know :

- Bullscharge is still bugged not breaking immobilize with mobile strikes… ( i’ve reported this then we got fixes in the Arms line) .. Maybe next patch.

- Haven’t been suffering without stability

-Haven’t seen my stomp finisher in days

You can keep tabs on him from list but i wouldnt let people like him bother you. There’s always gonna be those kind of people. There comes a point where you see it so much that you’re numb to it and begin to just immediately dismiss people’s arrogant trash talk. Sounds like solo queue? Which in itself can be frustrating enough. I’d try and run with a group of people you know a little more often if you want less frustration.

Stances and auto attack animations i feel should be part of character creation because right now as it stands I personally cant stand the way the human male holds and especially runs with a GS. Its like they’re playing baseball and running with the bat in the most telegraphed ‘’im coming at you and im gonna hit you with this unprofessionally. ’’ pose

best running with goes to asura
best auto attack also goes to asura

worst running, human male. ( charr kinda looks akward 2 leg running imo too )

it sounds like you either want a celestial build or rabid, depending on if you still want some power dmg with your condi or just pure condi with no power. Both give defense but celestial would have better survivability and less condi dmg. Sword Sword is probably better for the extra condi from torment otherwise its probably gonna be hard to kill at all in pvp.

id recommend the tactics defense and discipline trait lines. Tactics can give you a trait to make your longbow auto attacks cause burning for more burn pressure and another trait that will make your fire aura last longer from leaping through fire field. on top of that maybe even consider fire runes for the extra aura effect that gives.

for sigils id go energy and doom on the longbow and maybe something like torment and geomancy on swords. Id think this might be a good start for the kind of build you might want for fun.

Hey Guys, so its been pretty much a month since the june 23rd patch and was interested in the direction some of you may have went with Warrior. I for example took a hit and find my old GS Longbow style that i been playing for more or less 2 years no longer works to my satisfaction.

I always felt a good build for balance had 1 melee weapon and 1 ranged to avoid being completely kited or toyed with in some situations so when this patch hit and my longbow seemed to no longer have enough pressure I thought it might be over for me if i couldn’t find another style that i like.

So after retesting and giving all weapons and ideas another good chance i eventually found myself on this.

Its a pretty decent dueling build that i seen a few others with a similar idea have but i’ve also found success with it in real games. Imo its because i dropped stability for bullscharge for the 2nd gap closer which is much needed on full melee build i feel.

These movement changes hurt warrior probably the most. Classes that can teleport are now miles ahead of the warrior which does not have any fancy tricks. Ranger with all the range in the world has better disengage because their gs swoop actually has decent running speed. Engi toolbelt super speed i think is currently the best ‘’running away ’’ disengage unless ur gonna ele rtl fgs.

Either way, having range and swiftness is usually all it takes now to keep on a warrior since rush’s running speed is so slow and for me will even sometimes run on the spot for a second before taking any distance. They should rename it ‘’ Missed My Bus’’ because it looks like that run a middle aged person does when they get to the bus stop too late.

It is not a bug – this is how the new changes work.
Is it good ? On the one side it isn’t – on the other it is.

Disengage also means getting away when crippled/chilled – and the changes allow you to do that now.

Do I like the slow feeling? No. But I guess we’ll have to learn to live with it.

Then why savage leap’s speed is the same?

savage leap was never affected by cripple or chill in the first place

ppl said this change was gonna be a buff , but for warrior its definitely a nerf. Rush feels slowmo and had a hard enough time hitting moving targets. I guess ppl didnt notice before that just a simple warriors sprint trait were helping these skills.

right now everything feels off like the game isnt flowing between gears properly. I dont know y these movement changes were needed.

ya its interesting i tried it too , seems to be only a killshot thing. I thought i heard them mention something about weapon swapping when they were explaining it which would have then implied that people were running double rifle for example to get a 2nd killshot, but doing that doesnt stop cooldown so it only made me think they were doing shared cooldown across all weapons. I’m sure i heard him mention weapon swapping.. Maybe i didn’t and im crazy

Why such a random nonsensical change to make f1 burst skill function share a cooldown between 2 different weapon skills.

Was adrenaline not nerfed enough that now if we have 1 bar back within 8 seconds or use burst mastery to preserve adren that we cant even use it anyway?

meanwhile much more ’’OP’’ mechanics in game remain untouched or even receive buffs.

using a burst skill for your equipped weapon will now set the recharge of all adrenaline tiers of that burst skill

they didn’t explain it very well in the video, but I think this means that now you can’t drop a full tier 3 burst, then swap weapons and instantly drop a tier 1 burst (with the leftover adren from burst mastery or berserker’s stance). you have to wait the full recharge time, even if you swap your weapon set.

which is the most sickening change ever that was unneeded . almost no point in taking burst mastery now, they really dont know warrior. They kept claiming ‘’oh hambow is back watch out ’’ no its not.. Hammer trait was moved to discipline gm to compete with burst mastery in which before you could double blast fire field because of burst mastery.

even if you dont use hambow which i dont , the whole idea of burst mastery was so you could do both f1 skills. But hey lets make 2 different weapon skills share a cooldown because the idea of adrenaline wasnt nerfed enough from last time we hit it

The gameplay was nice, wasn’t a fan of the editing or music, but that’s just me.

Curious as to what build you were using on your Warrior, both ones utilizing the longbow/gs and longbow/ham, that was some nice damage.

Hammer was 2 0 6 0 6 . I believe i had short temper for extra might or great fortitude for extra hp. But basically the dmg came from might stack from hoelbrak runes and double blasting fire field and weapon swap. You might have seen i had over 20 might stacks at times.

but ya the extra dmg was from reckless dodge and weapon swapping to hammer also for hydro and leech proc. Alot of aoe pressure. The rest of the traits are your normal merciless hammer cleansing ire, burst precision and stuff like that.

GS was 4 0 4 0 6 same idea just slashing power trait same sigils which i use hydro leeching on gs and energy doom on longbow for poison and extra dodge because i dodge offensively for reckless dodge sometimes. And ya thats my kitten music i threw together to avoid copyright problems later :c . And the editing was more just to focus on highlights moreso than full fights because i had too many different clips i wanted to use.

We lost fair. I uploaded this just because i thought it might have been an entertaining watch lol. About the turret part, i usually handle turrets pretty easily unless they’re in mid air but that time rocket turret caught me slippin. Had me off to a bad start so i just left lol. Anyhow we weren’t really playing on THAT lvl of seriousness and looking at our comp in hindsight it was pretty off, and I was main dmg. But ya we were just basically playing anything we wanted :O

As soon as you have any condis on you near low health ur done when that procs. I’ve tried that rune before a while back and it screwed me over more times than its helped me, but ya maybe its good on engi. Thats almost on the same lvl of mystery as to when and why was it decided that DP panic strike thieves r ’’better’’ than hidden killer thief. I must have missed something there too.

i used to not like this map because of the water combat and sharks but after skyhammer i realize how much this map wasn’t that bad lol. They should just get rid of the water, drain it out or something and have it shallow like the water on spirit watch and rework maybe a broken down version of the ship with the mid point on there or something.

Hi so i was making a build and decided to try and see how long i could increase daze duration so i put on sigil of paralyzation and even mesmer runes. However the tooltip remained unchanged for my supposed 1 1/2 second daze. I took them off again to compare to see if maybe it just doesnt show up ,however the daze duration seemed to be no different.

Hey everyone.

So after playing this game for some time now, and always trying to create or try something new that is effective or even just decent / have an enjoyable style to my taste, there is always one thing in the back of my head that slightly annoys me when i feel i may have found something.

Patch Paranoia.

It seems everytime I get into something the next day there is a thread complaining said build existed in like 1200 BC and is ‘’meta cheese OP’’

For example. I used to main Warrior back when it was considered worst pvp class ( which most ppl now would try to claim those days didnt exist for more than a minute) but anyway, Once all these now changes came in and this whole Ham sandwhich Bow and Healing signet with Meta Cheese started, I didnt follow it . I instead stuck to my style i enjoyed or tried other things but still ofcourse got trashed for playing warrior.

Ever since then I literally moved away from the class and began retrying every other profession to pick up another style because I basically let the ’’community’’ ruin a profession for me lol. But currently I found something i like alot more than basic Warrior anyway which will remain unstated because I’m once again seeing ppl cry for nerfs only recently on this class too out of nowhere when its already been nerfed.

But to the point of all this, the reason i suffer from Patch Paranoia is because i notice usually when said build needs to be nerfed it isnt always nerfed directly but some outer route is taken and other builds get affected. Which made me feel I can never settle on a class I enjoy because its one thing to adapt and another thing to have something you enjoy ruined because something else that was unrelated.

This got me thinking about all professions in general when it comes to nerfs and came to a conclusion in which profession is safest to settle on If you are like me and suffer from Patch Paranoia.

I’m interested in hearing other peoples selection of choice on this but off the top of my head without digging up too many past patch notes or researching it seems that most protected class from nerfs currently imo is none other than…

Thanks for the replies so far. I been using sword dagger in the mean time but still experimenting. ( less than 300 games on thief ). On another note i remember way back when i first tried thief i enjoyed sword pistol most but now when i tried it again it feels like 100 blades spam with evade frames lol.

Hey so i been wanting to play a thief but the only thing stopping me is there seems to be not alot of build diversity going on. For example i would ideally like to play a D/D thief in spvp but after giving it a try , either i dont know how to play it effectively and was using the wrong utilities or its plain and simply harder to play then d/p which is basically free gap closers and blind spam in comparison imo.

So basically i was wondering is D/D thief even worth attempting in spvp? I’t seems to be all d/p and perhaps this new s/p pistolwhip trend. When it comes to wvw ive been pointed out to a D/D video of a thief outnumbered but its beyond me how much trouble the enemies had.

Anyways, if anyone has opinions on D/D especially if ur a D/P user im interested to know if you came to the same conclusion when comparing the 2. However if there are any ’’successful’’ D/D users im also interested in the build you are running .

My Stance on Warriors

The Warrior

It’s Plague Ephlik, and I’m a warrior. When I say im a warrior im saying after playing this game for a decent ammount of time ( r40 ) and playing through all the classes in order of which combat style and visuals took me in ( warrior was 4th… ) I noticed something when comparing the classes to the warrior visually whilst in combat which then developed my theory being that -

Warrior was most likely the 1st class they designed( some people may know this information im interested in results ) and then they started to go crazy with ‘’creative ideas and effects as they started making more classes adding in features like clones, teleporting , blah blah blah and even instant ’’dmg ‘’ skills that cant be reacted to. Now im not against fantasy style effects because obviously an ele should be doing ’’magic ‘’, but while all of the classes aside from maybe ranger seemed to have some sort of supernatural sci fi-ish style to them, the warrior just seemed to be a simple human wielding weapons lol. Even Guardian suprised me with how much more flashy their ’’offense ‘’ was in comparison to warrior. If more classes were closer to a warrior’s ’’purity’’( being able to see actions in full animation) , then I think the game as a whole would play better but thats not what this is about.

An idea to expand Warrior style

So i have an idea that would raise Warrior diversity and add a little more dimension to the play style. But first im gonna pull a Daecello and suggest a trait tweak/ adjustment, only I wont be posting another the next day and the day after etc because this post is already long and could end up falling off almost immediately anyway.

- Cleansing Ire : Since I do agree that the warrior’s survivability should come from a more offensive style I think it would be interesting if cleansing ire didnt ‘’ clear’’ conditions but instead ‘’ transferred ’’to target on use. Some people may think that is OP for warrior in current state but if u take into consideration my next idea which would help build diversity , you would see that trait change isnt asking much.

F2 F3 F4 Stances

At this point the idea was just a rough brainstorm that would need more work , perhaps more people to chip into how it could be made to work better if you like the idea but anyway. My reasoning for for this feature is because i dont think the Stances are Stancey enough and that true stances would be alot more interesting. My proposal would be to remove the stances from utility and perhaps tweak the effects accordingly while placed under whichever stance line . Example :

you would have a
Power Stance , a Precision Stance, and a Defensive Stance (which work as toggles), including perhaps being able to deactivate into neutral stance ( no stance ). All which would visually change your character’s battle stance under use in my hopeful mind lol, ( picturing this with a gs for example )

Power Stance ( even name it something else )

Increase power based on adrenaline you have built. ( Berserkers Power )
Activates Balanced Stance( Cooldown 60 seconds . )

As you can see i took the berserker’s power trait and moved it to the stance for the passive ability which would occur only while in this stance. Also moved balanced stance to bind to this stance.

note *: Before anyone cries ‘’OP ’’ to any of this, keep in mind these are just examples but the main idea of what im doing is trying to make space for more interesting traits anet could come up with to replace the ones moved or near useless minor traits that could add space for replacement. Anyone can add their own versions of this type of template to help out.
I personally would propose the removal of strength III and VI to make space for something new but you get the idea .

Precision Stance
Critical hits grant triple adrenaline ( Furious )
Activates Frenzy on full adrenaline ( 1 minute cooldown. No longer stunbreaker )

Defense Stance
Gain 5 seconds of retaliation when struck by a critical hit in this stance ( Spiked Armor )
Activate Endure Pain ( 60 second cooldown )

get rid of defense III
note : the activated effects of stances do not take place while not in combat
also I would get rid of berserkers stance completely to justify my earlier proposed change to cleansing ire.

These are some ideas in a nutshell which I think can improve and allow for different warrior builds possibly. As someone who is constantly trying to find new builds and always testing new ones out ( and not following the ’’meta’’ gs mace shield ) as i dont like the style and have already found one im most comfortable with, yet get accused of somehow stunning an enemy for 3 seconds with eviscerate in a group fight and being told to ‘’learn to play mace shield noob’’… I think this type of thing could add more dimension and help the class as a whole.
