Mimic is easily the most underrated skill for the mesmer at the moment. Yes, the first shot you store is basically useless, but everything that hits you after you store that initial shot is also reflected immediately. This ability is invaluable to mesmers if you ask me.
That being said, this new change is completely (and I stress COMPLETELY) pointless.
This change to mimic will make it even less used than it already is. For starters Arcane Thievery already does this exact thing, but with the added bonus of purging the enchantments off of your target. Second, you can use Null Zone to remove enchantments as well, but it also doubles as a condition remover, and ethereal field for allies. This change will not make Mimic more popular it will flat out make it useless.
If you use staff and store a bouncing autoattack you can reflect the skill you want to reflect:P Needs some timing but a mesmer that cant time is a dead mesmer anyways

Keep thief on the defensive side
Idea:
All light fields have a red circle.
If thief enters a light field, he gets revealed after X seconds regardless of if he attacks.Get in quick and attack.
What if they still keep their stealth in the lightfield but are just visible. They still get the bonusses they get from stealth traits but enemies can see them as long as they are in a lightfield.
I noticed it before the patch but i have no idea when it became an evade

I think that personal combo fields should prioritized. Sometimes its hard to make good combos because of the guardians littering the battle scene with light fields. Sometimes they lay down a light field 0.5 sec before your ring of fire gets laid down and then you’re stuck with some aoe retal
I was more thinking about Diamond skin: You can only be affected by 3 or 4 conditions above say 70% hp.
In this way it wont be a hard counter to condi classes but still protects the ele from condi spams. Don’t know if this would be overpowered but in my head it sounds kinda doable

Has anybody else realized that the passive could actually seriously screw up our combos and mobility? As we all know, quickness is pretty naively implemented and will cut the distance of mobility skills by a factor of 1.5 by virtue of speeding up their animations by a factor of 1.5. This isn’t so much of a problem for timed quicknesses like frenzy (just don’t pop it when you want to use a mobility skill), but with a passive that triggers on attunement swap we will be getting shortened rtl and burning speed all over the place. This will even screw up time-honored combos like updraft to burning speed (burning speed probably won’t even reach).
IMO we should just be getting 1.4x damage and condition damage modifier on attunement swap instead of quickness, to avoid this broknenness.
Wouldnt rtl travel the same distance coz it also isnt affected by swiftness or doesn’t it work like that?
I’d rather have boon duration on passive
Well on paper it looks good but still we’re in a tight spot. What most classes get out of their weap skills and class mechanic we have to get out of our utility and traits

Why not split stealth in 2 types offensive stealth and defensive stealth. Offensive stealth would not be stackable and used for backstab ect. And then defensive stealth which is known as the stealth we have now and all merits from traits will only apply to this kind. Attacks from defensive stealth will do reduced dmg and 2 sec longer revealed. Of course the balance between having access to offensive and defensive stealth has to be balanced.
What is the use of no attunement cooldown if most of your important skills have a base cd of 30sec+?-.-

Answer to question 1: signet of air is a tier 2 utility skill. Meaning: you need to have at least 5 skills that kost 1 skill point to get to it.
Answer to question 2: in most starter areas they will be found close to the entrance of the big city. Else you can go to the centre of Lions Arch where it will be also
You know what I just noticed in heart of the mist that conjures are considered weapons swaps when you proc them, drop them, and pick them up the second time, each time that is considered a weapon swap so the sigil of battle or any weapon swap sigil procs with them. Which I did not know
Also some time ago you could bug it with sigil of geomancy or hydromancy to get the conjure buff without the conjure. I dont know if it got fixed
A distortion on channel trait would be awesome but prob also to OP

I still think that this trait has to give you more % dmg reduction the lower your hp gets. Sound more like a diamond skin like that

It’s quite funny almost everything that they took away from us they gave to warriors. As if a high dps survivable stunning machine is acceptable and a mediocre dps, low health squishy harasser is not…
Well flesh wurm can be put on a random safe place. you will teleport max range if you move out of range. On my necro its just place it, remember direction and roam. It saved me countless times. Combined with chills and spectral walk it should be easy to escape when played well..
Why not keep them as they are ut add an extra effect. Crit chance is completely useless when using those so why not use that as the chance to proc an extra effect?
I feel that elementalists should be mater of versatility and therefore master of unpredictability. A foe should never know what comes next. We are now quite predictable and some may argue that we are versatile but it suffers from our low dmg and therefore were forced to sacrifice that and blow all our cooldowns to make our dmg slightly less sucky
In my opinion the ele is fine. It is a balanced class.

We need something that does more damage the lower our hp is. Then we can go with a bang. That would be so awesome for kamikaze. Like a supernova explosion or something

Especially when you consider we have to give up SO much trait and armor wise, we MIGHT get that great healing yet we will lose EVERYWHERE else – Health, Armor, Damage…

When i duel on ele most classes take alot of time and cant really do a burst when i need to. When im on mesmer it just gets like 10 times easier… And believe me im quite a nooby mesmerxd

He means that it will be like a natural defence and that we dont have to do a lot of effort for it or pick a specific weap set. Imagine if a mesmer has to use combo fields or runes to make clones…
Has Anet ever responded to why the Elementalist has a lower starting health pool than a thief, when a thief has more movement, dps, and escape? If they say because Ele’s have good healing, I’d prefer to have a higher health pool and nerf the heals.
Actually thief shares the same health pool with the ele together with the guardian. Not that it justifies their insane dps and escape abilities…
Maybe get the like the same stat bonuses (or lower if that would be OP) as the conjures?
so:
Fire = Power and condi
Air = Precision and crit dmg
Water = Condi duration? and healing
Earth = Toughness and vitality
and then remove the bonus from the conjure except fgs and then rework the conjures.
How was that too much it was only possible once every 75 sec when traited once every 60 sec. Most of the other classes have a reset on a way shorter cooldown

The only time that I dont have aggro is when an extremely tanky guard or another ele is in my party. The only way someone takes aggro is if he heals more often than me and has more toughness or spams a crapload of condis. I dont hope anet hopes us to go glass and dont heal…
What would help is bump up our base survivability and that would just be a start…
