Funny thing is I haven’t seen anyone mention the swiftness you can repeatedly get using fresh air. so its like a stealth in combat mobility buff. Coz i don’t think i am making a huge mistake by saying that almost every ele uses elemental attunement.
Id like to see the dmg 5 eles with this build can do :P Everything will just melt away and only leave ashes behind:P
Yeah when I was doing the new dungeon I thought a mob threw a projectile at me but it was just the buffed phoenix. Now we actually have a chance to hit some distant targets with a triple hitting unblockable skill.
About the cooldown thing I just think its just a matter of getting used to the trait. Id say give it some time:P

Except we have to sacrifice almost everything to barely survive while other classes have more breathing room. Lowest armor and health and on top no class mechanic like clones or stealth to break target or confuse foes. Our survivability comes from our gear and some skills of which most are situational. When the situation arises we shine else were doomed. Now dont come tell me that’s unfair that we can vaporform through portals.
Surviving and mitigating damage is kinda the elementalists mechanic if you didnt notice.

Why is a stunbreak worth only 5 sec? Signet of air gets a 10 sec cd increase for adding a stunbreak. They could’ve least been a bit consistent and shave 10 sec off the cd of lightning flash

If you look really close to your buffbar you see that you are using rtl instead of mistform. The rtl icon appears and not the misform icon. Also you were immobolised so you were self stunning while getting nuked.
I’ll have to look closely at my endurance bar, because the icon doesn’t show up at all
Btw the endurance regen from the air trait II if i remember correctly doesnt work with earth 1 if thats what you mean. But Earth trait I (gain toughness on channel) worked last time I checked with scepter earth 1 and has no icon I think. But ill check it again:P
Last time I checked it did. But that was couple f patches ago them breaking things in the process isnt new. Think i should test and see if it still works. Earth 1 is a channel too so it should work (at least gw2 wiki says its a channel).
Healing ripple is a free mini heal when you attune to water. And the reason I mentioned scepter for earth trait 1 was cos Earth 1 and Air 1 are quite spammable on scepter while dagger fire 2 and water 2 are less spammable:P Imo this looks better than the previous one. And rotation is situational
Our supposed defence should be auras. But they’re not all as easy accesible als for example stealth on thieves and clones on mesmers. Maybe if we get an aura based on attunement switch that doesnt interact with traits and has a 20% chance to go off or something might help. in that way we have a kinda in build defence. But anet will prob never do that. Also its just an idea that just popped up so i have no idea if it would have a big impact
You might want to squeeze in some healing power coz healing power is never wasted on an ele it also synergises well with toughness and increases survivability. And you only have 1 stunbreaker postpatch is that intended? Other than that it looks interesting.
Edit: Also earth trait I could be swapped for earths embrace. your rune has some prot duration so it will extend that one. And honestly i feel that Earth trait I is more made for scepter since it has 2 channeled autos (Air 1 and Earth 1)

Beats me. maybe they were in the troll mood… again. At least try to look at the positive changes and hope they’ll put back the stunbreaker on LF next patch
GoEP is the most stupid option of a stunbreaker that they could think of. Even random racial skills would make more sense…
If you drop some hp you’ll be faster full health. You also wont need alot of healing power and can spend the stats on offensive ones for example. But this is only an advice.
And btw i have no idea how much healing power you should have to complete that in 1 or 2 steps. Maybe heal earlier? I really dont know
Saying thakittens unfair that eles can do that in downed is quite weird. Its very situational. And since we have lowest armor and hp let us have this highly situational advantage.
I miss the flamestrike delay fix.
Imagine the extra dmg when bolt to the heart kicks in:P

I hope they dont forget to change the cooldown accordingly when they move the stunbreak. A non stunbreaker lightning flash has then no reason to have a longer cd than the mesmers stunbreak blink for example
Tought so 2 I have no problems with walking around with 14.2k hp. Sure can use some more HP but i do fine. The traits however are the reason i go into water.
To be honest i have no idea in my opinion it seems weaker than frost aura so i have no clue why its cd is longer. Maybe cos anet is afraid that bunkers will get even more might with it.
You can refund them at the npc that sells the manuals. Go and experiment make a build that fits your style. there are alot of builds on the forum. There was also a thread about trait rating somewhere (too lazy now to go look for it) if you can find it take a look at it.
And who knows maybe you’ll find a new build that works.
I don’t know if its intended but its hard enough to land dragon tooth already.
so for me it seems unfair that it doesn’t do dmg when you get knockbacked/down in my opinion. Some heavy cc on scepter to aid it would be nice to land it tho

Well at least some more traits and some skills on scepter and focus for example. Im not talking about a dmg % increase or more hp or anything just that they refine what is bugged/broken or just isnt useable for most eles out there.

Ever also noticed that the skill 5 of avatar of melandru is an aoe immobo similar to the Rangers Entangle? Used it to troll in wvw. sometimes use it in dungeons when im bored of my other elites:P if the vines dont get destroyed them mobs will have like 20 sec immobo and a bleed per second immobolized. Its in my opinion a bit underrated elite
(after that tho i drop it immediately)

Why dont they make rtl 900 range 15 sec cd in combat en 1200 range 15 sec cd out combat? if they can make a cd split they can also do something like this
The on swap sigils have a 9 sec ICD
Maybe you could use superior sigil of battle has 9 sec cd and gives you 3 stacks might on attunement swap. prevents your might from dropping to fast coz with 0 in arcane your locked out like 15 sec? out of fire. Also a suggestion (its my personal preference) you could use scepter mainhand and throw dragontooth and phoenix in your firefield for more might. Since your always close and personal those skills can actually hit something:P

Ive noticed it too. I also use the reflect on distortion trait. Maybe the trait is the culprit maybe not but i do still get hit sometimes under distortion.

I never said that the class was ruined. also didnt say it ruined other builds. it only affects them negatively while getting nothing reliable back in return.
Anet promised to make more options viable for elementalists but until now it only got reduced. Its not those 2 skills that will ruin the class but it is the nerfs every patch constantly reducing our options.

Well said. They can never nerf our ability to adapt. Should we accept this? Never.
But QQing doesnt make us better. We better adapt and hope anet realises that this patch isn’t going to make more variations in builds only the way we play.
