Better yet – make it into a game play element!
If someone takes something out of a guild stash, the guild can pay to put a contract on that persons head.

Step 1) Guild purchases an Assassin’s Contract – say 1 gold each
Step 2) Guild uses the Assassin’s Contract on someone who ‘withdrew’ from the stash
Step 3) Any where, any time, any situation, a Veteran Assassin can appear at the characters location and attempt to kill them. Only if the perpetrator dies, does the contract get fulfilled.
Step 4) Offer incentive to those around – say 5-10s if you help to fulfill the contract. It’s enough to make people target the perp, and stop any chance they have of ‘farming’ the Assassin (who also should give no loot).
Step 5) The guild is welcome to spend as much as they want on contracts

It might even be easy to implement using current game mechanics

Step 6) blatantly rip off eve

The icons have been since day 1, default level 1 weapon icons which as it turns out many use these but some are slowly being changed.

99.9999999999999999999999% of fights can be melee’d while wearing pp/c without breaking a sweet.

I consider this a great question, in part. This is where most warriors are having their difficulties. But simply put the answer to “What’s a good build for WVW solo” Is going to either be useless or geared completely against what you truly need and want.

I’m recommending you linking me to one of the builds you find yourself using or have had best luck with. Gw2buildcraft.com is what I’d recommend. Then I could give you my thoughts and recommendations.

Simply asking for a good wvw solo build or a build in general is like asking me which piece of steak is good, it’s too broad of a question.

This question is purely theoretical. I understand many warrior use axe/mace since mace gives vulnerability on their other attack.

Hi all,

I was doing fractal 32 just minutes ago and at the last fractal we got the Volcanic one and we weren’t able to finish the end boss (the shaman). At this point out of the blue the party lead and one more kicked me (I’m a D/D ele and we were pretty mixed: Me, R, G, W).

The party kept going without me and got someone else instead as I couldn’t rejoin. The party lead mentioned “he’s sorry – he didn’t kick me and they already failed and getting out” – but he was obviously lying as I saw his status was still inside the fractals.

I think they failed in the end with the replacement as well – given the time I saw them listed inside the fractals after I was kicked… but this is some horrible behavior and made me feel really crappy.

Can I in any way report abusive kicks? I did my fare share all the way to that last boss of the last fractal and was helping with D/F projectile protection at the boss as well. I feel really let down atm and not sure I should ever party with people I don’t know… but then I won’t have anyone to do fractals with(

A warrior with a full set of berserker’s is still more likely to get attention than most other classes, we share the highest healthpool with Necromancers and highest armor with guardian, both of which lack the other.

Also, close proximity and damage are factors in aggro; both of which fit a berserker warrior.

Some attention is good. 7-10 mobs in bers gear? never ever happens.

Good sir warriors are all about bursts. Well the dps ones and sword has no burst. Its a constant dmg wep with no burst and that sounds like guardian talk to me. Impale does 2-4k? lol Evi can hit up to 10k in spvp, HB 15k, rush 5k, whirls 9k, hammer can burst loads too the earthshaker can hit for a 6k aoe stun and with the trait the other skills hit for 4ks.

So saying impale does a 2-4k is a joke no offense meant to you sir. But it needs to be bursty. The same issue is with main hand mace. I say main hand because it has no burst its a defensive weapon while off hand provides a set up for a burst. Hell even bow has a burst. Rifle has KS which everyone knows about.

So comparing all of those to sword you can tell its weak at raw dps/burst. Mace aswell. These two weapons could really use a buff. The sword is a confused weapon i mean it stacks bleeds but look how much we gotta go out of our way to get to 25 stacks while other classes can auto atk and stack faster than us. Its dps is horrible. I wish it worked in both cond and dps just like the LB does.

He said HIS attack crit for 2-4k, not how much it’d crit on other builds. And I believe he’s talking about Rip not Impale since Rip does much more damage than Impale. I wouldn’t know how much it’d crit for on high end burst builds because no one ever uses off-hand sword, but if you consider Impale and Rip a package since they’re in the same skill, it’s damage is likely pretty decent.

i was talkin bout rip. Was saying impale because its the base skill and rip is its p2. But yes ive tested it and the hardest it can hit is 5k something on a glasscannon from a glasscannon. I been doing Axe/sword sword/shield with a full DW build and impale/rip isnt much.

That’s because RIP.. isn’t for bleed builds. I’ve had rip crits surpass 10k without much effort.

140 bleed ticks, the fastest bleed stacking class AND the longest bleeds is hardly in need of a buff.

So personally I hate the aggro system in this game as its fairly primitive (seems to be whoever has the most toughness will be the main target). Unfortunately, this means for us warriors who like to shout heal somehow become the baddies’ prime target which leaves me kiting a lot during times when there are many enemies. I even dumped some of my toughness to try to make myself a less juicy target, but as a warrior, I still have more than the other classes. It’s like I’m being punished for wanting to heal because “He has a lot of toughness, MUST BE A TANK!!”

For anyone else who has high toughness, how are you able to not get 7-10+ enemies constantly following you around?

Reduce your toughness then? If you can’t take the heat don’t sit in the fire. Honestly as a shout warrior(you know that class you’ve admitted to already having high armor?) in dungeons shouldn’t be wearing any extra toughness at all.

I was just wondering if such build makes any sense for solo/zerg PvE play? The idea is to put all trait points into toughness/vitality and select any traits that increase these two stats in either way. Plus runes, armor and sigil – all toughness/vitality-focused. Minus jewelry – it will be power/precision-focused. As for the skills, I’ll choose only condition-removing ones (except the elite skill).

The question is: what am I going to get as the result? Will it be somewhat increased survivability and almost no offensive capability or great survivability and again almost no attack potential?

PVE aside from high fotm’ is mainly berserker gear with a few cav(i use 3)
The defense tree adding nothing you’ll ever find useful in comparison to pretty well any other tree especially when it comes to solo pve. That’s the reality of a pve warrior.

So before the flamers start in about “zomg alpha is so easy l2p” at least hear me out. The inconsistencies between the paths with alpha not to mention the inability to get a teammate revive off on certain alpha fights is what makes it a broken fight. The inconsistencies I’m talking about are like path 1, his skills hurt yes but they’re easily avoidable except maybe the earth spike, but path 2 he not only spams the attacks instantly, stacks them on top of each other, but specifically targets people being revived and it’s impossible to revive people. While dodging the circles are all well and fine for classes with tons of vigor and endurance regen, it’s not ok for classes without access to that. So why the inconsistency between path 1 and 2? Why make it so much harder without any external mechanics to make up for it? Also, the “lowered alpha’s health to help balance the encounter” was not the answer to fix these fights. It did nothing to address the problem which is in the boss’s skills and mechanics, not his health pool and the length of the fight. Yse I agree with many people, alpha is fun, he’s not overly hard on some fights, but on others he’s not fun at all, nor is he viable for anyone but apparently you "leet"ers to do.

The reality is alpha is far too easy. P1 is a trainer, p2 is a trainer and p3 is the two combined and the strat for ALL THREE is the exact same. Has nothing to do with elitism.

P1 is a snore, easiest boss in game second to turret tree in ta exp. P2 and 3, same strat as 1 but with dodging. Miss a dodge and you’re not stacked on melee? you die. Dodge twice without vigor, you’re down. That’s literally all there is to the fight. One button = win.

I take new players there all the time, most do well, some just don’t get it. But in the end, once they understand they realize that alpha is just a really boring fight that can be killed by two people without much effort. (and often is..)

I can’t count on one hand how many times i’ve started a convo in /p while duo’n alpha.

But I do agree with you, from another view maybe but the end result is the same.
It’s a terrible fight and is the perfect example of why gw2 needs hard mode. There is clearly a large gap between player skill in pve. The new AC is a prime example of how to fudge up bridging the gap, no one from either end of the spectrum is impressed by the changes.

It’s come to my attention when I finished my sunrise this week that the sunrise “in” my.. sunrise.. is in the west. Since the dawn(pun) of time, the sun has risen in the east.

So I assume this is an unintended bug which I would love to see rectified.

Tl;Dr Because you can’t make use of it doesn’t mean that others have the same problem. You can’t have your cake and a pie.

Vit as a warrior is pretty well useless in pve. Just run any generic build til you have yourself filled out in berserk er.

Axe sustained dps is higher but to achieve it you end up with a lack of burst.. Which the greatsword excels at. Pick you poison, it all depends on the situation.

A while back Anet reduced confusion damage in sPvP by 50 percent because it is simply overpowered when used against other players. I see more and more mesmers spamming confusion in WvW that causes 1-2k damage per ability use. This is simply too much damage for a condition that can trigger 3-4 times per second. They should add the 50% reduction to WvW.

If 1-2k is too much i’d strongly suggest changing around some stats.

I make on average 15g, plus materials a session doing nothing. There are multiple sources for everything in this game. I’d recommend doing some research on the wiki. Type,in game “/wiki itemname” to give yourself a hand.
