Dodging should override any other action. Channeled skills such as ressing can get you killed

I had to train myself to use V to dodge instead of doubletapping, which was causing me to accidently roll off ledges in jump puzzles…
The entire reason that WvW has 3 servers against each other is to somewhat mitigate the domination from the strongest server.
What ArenaNet wanted was for the two servers being beaten to both fight the strongest server. But in actuallity, this doesn’t happen. Why, you ask? Let me tell you. The server in last place has absolutely no reason to team up with second place to topple the winning server. It doesn’t benefit them at all. If they did this, and were successful, it would just mean second place moves up to first, and they are still in last place. However, if last place teams up with first place, they butcher second place down to last, and the server who was last now gets to finish in second.
Commanders are meant to have a purpose in PvE also. They are meant to be seen as leaders and tacticians for world events too. I don’t really think that is at all beneficial really. I vote to keep Commanders in WvW maps only.
You should have put this as a reply to your first post, not in a new thread. But I do like the idea.

Both Nurvus and Drake’s ideas are nice, well thought out.
I’m really sorry to burst your bubble, but ArenaNet have said multiple times that they will not be adding more classes, even with expansions. We will, however, see new races.

At the risk of a bad pun, you need to get your priorities straight. Previewing from the Trade Post, I agree it would be nice, I want it too, but there’s a ton of other things that are more important.
They have acknowledged that people want it, they have even said that it is on their todo list, which is pretty good considering most suggestions that get implemented never see an offical rubberstamp before they are announced in patch notes.
Be patient. ArenaNet built this game. They poured half a decade of their lives into it’s creation. They know what’s best for it. Let them work and give them the credit that they deserve and the trust that they have earned.
If you don’t like the bard, what about Space Marines!
Pew pew pew
ZAP!
But steam-punkish tho.
See: Commando.
:)
As of now, Arenanet have said they have no intentions of adding more classes to the game. New races, however, are a different kettle of fish entirely.
No. Just NO. If you want mounts, go play a game that has mounts. Guild Wars is not the type of game that mounts would work in. It wouldn’t feel right. There were no mounts in GW1, and there shouldn’t be any in GW2 either.
I agree with ColdSpyder.
You shouldn’t have an outift system like LOTRO where the items are not destroyed. LOTRO’s ecconomy was in a state of almost consistant inflation. The gear sink created by transmutation stones is a necessary evil.
However, having one initial armor set (loadout) and additional loadouts purchasable with gems, you can not only have a different look associated with each loadout, but you can also gear it differently. Say have a Berserker loadout for when you really need to bring the pain, a Magic Find loadout for when you go farming, and stack Vitality/Toughness on your WvW loadout. 3 completely different armour stats with 3 completely different armour skins too. I think this, while being slightly more expensive for the player (having to buy/craft/find several armor sets), compensates with the convenience of being able to change your stats as easily as you change your skills.
I agree with this, having been on the recieving end tenfold more times than I have decided to be a jerk and participate in it. Also seige in the darkroom and at the top of the arena is pretty annoying as well.
@Crash: Any guild that is serious about WvW shouldn’t have a problem with rank 5 Art of War anyhow.
@Player: Being a commander has absolutely nothing to do with sPvP. Being a good Commander and being good in small group combat have almost no parallels between them.

Right now Commander status is, I won’t say ‘easy’ to get, but it is sufficiently difficult in completely the wrong way.
I’ve seen Commanders who had no business being, nor the capability to be a Commander. They bought the status because they were rich and it was just something to buy. This is not how the status Commander should be bestowed. I understand that they may learn, and in time, become a good Commander. But thats not good enough. You should only have the rank if you are already good at it, otherwise you are quite literally leading your server astray.
I suggest that Commander instead be tied to Guilds. You would need Rank 5 in Art of War to begin researching the Right of Command which would cost 1,000,000 Influence. If you were to buy this influence directly from the Guild Promoter, it would cost 200 gold – twice the amount that the status currently costs. Once this research has been completed, the Guild is able to research a buff called Authority of Command for 5000 influence. This buff should take 1 day to research, last for a week and allow the Guild to give the permission to certain ranks to enable the Commander status. Only 1 of the players with the correct rank would be able to use the Commander status in each map, and trying to activate it while there is already a Commander from your Guild in the map would result in a message appearing on your screen saying “Your Guild already has a Commander in this map.”
This would also mean that the Commander status is no longer character-bound. As it stands, if you buy commander on one character, you cannot activate the status on any of your other characters, meaning you have no choice but to play that one character if you plan to command in WvW. I’m sure this was done to promote familiarity with the Commanders with the general population, making their names widely-recognisable, almost making them pseudo-celebrities on their server. While this is a good thing, it is rather limiting for the Commander as they will never be able to play another character if they want to lead their server.
This also means that a dedicated Guild can always have a Commander in a map, and the general population is never without direction. Commanders cannot be online all the time (as much as they do try to be). If one Commander goes to bed, another player from that Guild, who has the relevant permission, can take up the status and continue leading their server. The status can be passed around as needed between the players that the Guild has decided have the capability to command well.
Because Commander status is tied to the buff, Authority of Command, and needs to be renewed weekly, having the ability to use Commander status becomes an ongoing expense to a Guild to ensure that they are not simply ‘buying it because it is just something to buy’. The very fact of having the status shows a deep commitment to the betterment of the server as a whole.
All existing Commanders who bought the status for 100g should be reimbursed their gold, and those still desiring to command could put it towards unlocking it for their Guild.
TL;DR -
Commander needs to be changed. New guild upgrade requiring rank 5 Art of War and costing 1 million influence (200g from Guild Promoter) that unlocks access to a week-long buff that takes 1 day to research and costs 5000 influence. This buff allows permissions to be assigned to guild ranks so that the players in those ranks can use the Commander status. Active Commander status would be limited to 1 per Guild per map. All existing Commanders could be reimbursed with their 100g shoudl the new system be implements.

Making them account bound is the best option.
I agree, soulbinding is ridiculous, but no binding at all is even more so. Binding was done so you couldnt have one character at a base, have people mail him gold and buy blueprints and then send them back to that other person, among other reasons.
You can still trade blueprints to other characters if necessary via the drop method, but that alone is no substitute for account binding. not being able to store all your blueprints together and instead having 3 or 4 rows of of blueprints that should only fill 1 row is a terrible abuse of our bank space.

I like the idea of 25 stacks of bleeding bursting for half the total remaining dmg and resetting. Perhaps it could burst, and cause daze for 1 or 2 seconds (reeling back from the infliction of a deep would).
Vulnerability resetting effectively means you are losing out on dealing that extra 25% dmg, so I think any ‘burst’ effect would have to be pretty powerful to mitigate the target not taking all that extra damage.
Anet Community staff have said that accepting attachments from goldspammers is fine so long as you report them and delete the mail afterwards. Think of it as a bounty.
Nobody should get money for reports that turn out true, that can only end badly.
However, to expand on the OP’s idea that we get informed about bans that occur resulting from our reports, would an in-game mail, perhaps once a month, stating the amount of unique account reports we sent, and the amount of accounts that were banned because we reported them might be nice.
To go one step further, have an achievement track in Community that gets incremented for every report that resulted in action, but gets decreased for every false report. Maybe have some titles associated with the achievement tiers, so people can show off that they are a pillar of the community.
I would suggest that the Mesmer’s Portal Exeunt skill should utilise the red in-range bar that is used to show whether you are close enough to your target to use that skill. It should indicate if you are still within range of the Portal Entre. Right now, if you place the Exeunt too far away, the portals cannot connect; and you don’t have an indication of the length of this range.
This change would limit useless portals because of a bad range guess.
This is actually a really good suggestion. I’ve often thought that the outmanned buff doesn’t actually help you fight the enemies larger numbers in the slightest.
I know of several guilds, including one to which I belong, that are moving from the more populated servers onto lower populated servers because the queue times are so tediously long. Without continued free transfers this could not happen.
It would indeed be awesome, but there are plenty of more pressing issues for ArenaNet to resolve at the moment. Good suggestion though.

I store my siege blueprints in my bank, so I dont have to cart them around with me. I queue up and go and do something in PvE for the 1-2hrs it takes till a spot opens up for me. I don’t want to carry all my BPs around with me during the time I’m PvEing, but I also want to be able to get guaranteed access to them from WvW. Say our keeps/towers don’t have the banker upgrades, or (because I’m a European and play on Far Shiverpeaks) Visunah Square owns the entire 4 maps because of their Canadian night shift. I have no way to get my siege weaponry from storage without going back to PvE and then having to queue all over again.
Banks and Trading Post NPCs in the starting area isn’t the problem. It’s people who stay in the starting area for long periods of time.
I think the best solution would be to kick players from WvW if they are in the starting area for more than a 5 minute period. 5 minutes is more than enough for a quick bank to deposit some nice loot, grab some extra supplies, repair your gear, sell the junk and pickup some gold/items from trading post if necessary, and then venture back out into the fray.
Solution: Make it so that you are able to repair items that have been damaged in WvW with badges (say 1 or 2 per item). But of course, only the equipment that was damaged in WvW, not damaged equipment that you had coming from PvE.
