Yea the build templates is a major issue for me. Experimenting w/ builds is one of the main things that makes games like this fun, and that aspect is really hamstrung w/o a template system. One of the main reasons I haven’t spent time in pvp or fractals or dungeons is because I’d have to change builds & experiment and it’s a hassle w/o templates.

They’ve been stringing us along on this for at least 3+ yrs now and we still don’t even have a traits/utilities saver. (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Suggestion-Favorite-builds-button/first). It’s a QoL change that would make every single gamemode more fun. But apparently they’d rather add more dyes/hairstyles, mounts & other pve stuff.

I’m about ready to walk away from the franchise after 11 yr. Not gonna make purchases on faith anymore.

Race should matter! A short rant.

I’m not sure what is wrong with race being part of the meta as class is part of the meta. Nothing should be so unequal that people don’t want to, or are shunned if they play a certain class. So the same should be true if race mattered to your build.

So you would be happy you leveled up a human warrior when all the meta groups say to you sorry charr is better race you cant join us.

Are you “happy” if you level up that Warrior and all the meta groups don’t want Warriors? What’s the difference?

The difference is you can relatively easily have one of each class at max rank. If racial skills are kept weak and race is just cosmetic that’s just 9 characters that cover all the bases. If racial skills are buffed and race is not just cosmetic then you need 5*9=45 characters to cover all the bases. Having to reroll a warrior because the latest patch buffed Asura and nerfed Charr so that Charr are no longer the “meta” would be a PITA, IMHO.

OR, Anet could keep all the races and classes balanced so that no 1 is the winner and none are “losers”. I don’t want to have 1 of each as it is and I don’t like the idea that whichever I want to play at the time I can’t because it is considered a loser.

We do not live in a utopia with unlimited funds and resources. Expecting a game to be balanced along a bunch of different dimensions is unrealistic.

outnumbered bonus abuse

To fix the issue, they’d have to stop awarding the “outnumbered” pips based off a binary, all-or-nothing mechanic that’s enforced at the tick. Find some way to track how long a player has played while having that buff and award based on that. Then a player who spent 2 minutes out of a 5-minute time period outnumbered would earn 40% of the maximum “outnumbered” pips. Ideally, this individual tracker could follow a player from map to map.

Or make playing while outnumbered contribute to a stacking effect. For every minute (or half-minute) worth of game time you spend on an outnumbered map, you get 1 stack of [X]. Then when the tick comes in, you get a certain number of pips based off how many stacks of [X] you have.

So no big changes for WvW?

Yea unfortunately I just don’t think they have the resources to support all 3 game modes. They’ve obviously made a strategic decision to primarily focus on pvp & pve.

Wvw is harder to balance classes/skills than the other 2, so we’ve seen little of that, unless it’s a side-affect of pvp/pve balance.

I fear the response to DBL has killed any future map-making plans and reinforced their inclination to neglect wvw. I wouldn’t be surprised if Anet feels, in hindsight, like the resources they used developing the maps were wasted, especially since fewer 4-map queues means less purpose for eotm.

And if balance and map-making for wvw aren’t considered worth the investment cost, it doesn’t leave much else that they can add. They’ve done a good job with some of the smaller items like auto-upgrades, squad UI, server-linking, and skirmishes. The only other major thing I think they could add would be a build template system and the ascended/legendary stuff people have been waiting for.

after playing around with the previews, I do feel a bit better about the legendary looks.

Heavy: favorite set, especially on slimmer character models (looks a bit too bulky on others). not a fan of the combat version of the helm.

Medium: good set. game has too many trenchcoats, but this set still looks very good for what it is. Only drawback is shoulders and helm look a little silly out of combat when everything else disappears.

Light: no thanks. the spikes are a bit overdone and the gloves look silly. though the shoulders are very unique and could look good mixing with other sets.

Health resets. Cooldowns do not. If Anet’s #1 objective was to specifically design a class that caters to the toxic/trollish demographics, they couldn’t have done a much better job.

Health resets, initiative does not. If a thief breaks off for 5 seconds all of the persons cooldowns he faced are now 5 seconds closer to being used again. The thief will regain 5 initiative which can be burned off with one skill meaning those other 8 skills on either weapon set unavailable.

That disadvantage is already countered by the thief’s advantage of being able to spam the same skill when they do have initiative, which other classes can’t do. Not to mention the strong AA, which holds up plenty well on its own.

there are moments in fights when one player has popped a long cd and the other hasn’t. a thief gets to decide if he wants to reset health or not depending on whether the cooldown “balance” of the fight is in his favor. then it’s like starting over the fight but with the opponent handicapped w/o the long-cd skill or skills. that option isn’t even on the table for others to decide if the thief were the one to fall on the unfavorable side of the cooldown balance.

It’s silly to deny the imbalance. I’d advise sticking to the argument that class balance wasn’t intended to begin with.

As for the damage mitigation comments, the thief already has extra dodges, evades, stealth, plus a blocking utility vs. the blocks/invulns of other classes.

Again if the Thief Resets so does the player they are resetting from, and if the Player isn’t a total potatoe they will start moving in a direction instead of standing in the same spot, they have a few options, and all of them will force the Thief to burn more resources to try and disengage to reset or to re-engage that same target, it’s really not that hard, but most players I have ran into root up in the same spot just like a potato waiting for people to re-engage.

Health resets. Cooldowns do not. If Anet’s #1 objective was to specifically design a class that caters to the toxic/trollish demographics, they couldn’t have done a much better job.

I agree with many here that are tired of all the medium trench coats in game and think that the spikes are a bit overdone.

However, I’d need alot more information before passing judgement on the legendaries.

1. What do they look like from behind?
2. What do the other race/gender combos look like (ie. male light armor)?
3. How do they look when dye is applied?
4. What do the animations look like?

At any rate, it’s all moot since I’m primarily a wvw player and even if I wasn’t, I doubt I’ll ever have enough gold to get anything in the legendary category.

Suggestion: WvW Jobs

in WvW

Raolin Soulherder.3195

Not a good idea. Anet has already shown that they do not place much of a priority, if any, in balancing things in WvW (understandably since it is an incredibly complicated gamemode to balance with a wide range of encounter types). Adding more ways to min/max stronger would only exasperate things. It’s just not practical to implement correctly with the limited resources of anet.

This would exponentially increase the number of build combinations the balance team would have to test, even if they did make an attempt. We already have more than enough power creep. That’s not to mention that it would widen the gulf between new players and vets and discourage new players from entering wvw. Time spent in wvw/eotm or exploiting OS kill-trade xp farm should not confer a combat advantage over other players whether statistically or through different skill/trait combinations.

100% world completion but no gift of explorer

Raolin Soulherder.3195

Guys I just did the 100% world completion but I haven’t received any gift of exploration. Do I have to talk to a NPC or do something extra? My guildies said that I should have received a chest but I haven’t got anything expect for an achievement “Been There, Done That”, a mastery point and the chest for completing that specific map in my case Black Citadel but no chest with the gift of exploration. I will upload some screenshot that shows 100% map completion and the achievement I got when I hit 100%

So what am I missing?

I’m probably a bit late to the party here, but I think the map complete chests don’t show up if you are in an instance. Might this have been the case?

I’ve done world completion a handful of times and often end up finishing the final poi’s inside a home instance. I seem to remember the the chest reward wouldn’t appear until after I exited the instance.

I purposefully no longer take banner buffs.

Raolin Soulherder.3195

I’d really like to see the display changed completely. Any or all of the following would make things easier for me:

  • Use a fixed size for all buff/debuff icons.
  • A different row for buffs, for debuffs, for ‘enrichments’ (e.g. guild banners, celebration boost)
  • Use the same location for each notification, i.e. bleed is always slot 1, burning always 2. Then I’ll always know where to look.

All great ideas, especially making the slots consistent. It’s hard not only to see your own boons/condis, but also those on your opponent when they keep bouncing from one side of the screen to the other as new things are applied and old things expire. I’d love for each unique boon/condi to have it’s own reserved spot on the screen so you know where to look for each type.

But I think there might be complications since you wouldn’t know the chronological order in which things were applied (which I believe matters for boon strips and condi clears, since I think they often remove whatever was most recently applied). I’m a little vague on details, though I have read that different skills have different fixed methods of removal priorities. They would have to rework the way those things operate or find a different way to show the chronology while keeping consistent boon slots.

Unfortunately, I doubt they’ll change anything. GW2 was always meant to be alot more visual, so I figure anet wants us to be focusing on the boon effects around enemy players rather than staring at the buff bar like we stared at skill activation boxes in GW1. I just wish the buff boxes wouldn’t be so small. It’s especially a problem since boons and condi’s seem much more prevalent now than at launch.

the only cure for those is trap druid its a 50/50 chance 2 days ago a ghost thief killing roamers leaving spawn and i was one of them i switched to trap he got owned so quick of course the trick is Shared Anguish ,Empathic Bond , Druidic Clarity your pet will take some of the condis lay down flame , viper , spike and be ready to use entangle then healing spring that thief was down in few sec didnt see him after i waitted but didnt show again also dire trap/burn dh can do so much dmg to those thiefs

Terrible advice.
Trapper druid isn’t perma stealthed, if the thief is paying attention he won’t get caught off guard by your traps. Hell his main source of damage comes from dodging so there’s a good chance he’ll trip your traps without getting caught in them.
DH works as long as they are running the reveal trap but if you really want to counter a ghost thief you want to bring a p/p scrapper. You can easily reveal them and load them up with enough condi’s that they’ll melt before revealed ends.

While I agree, scrapper is pretty good vs thieves, the reveal skills seem pretty unreliable. I’ve been running a scrapper build for about a month and Detection Pulse never seems to apply reveal. I’ve hit many with it and it de-stealths them but most times they just re-apply stealth literally a second later, which wouldn’t be possible if they had reveal.

It seems Analyze only works to prevent an unstealthed target from stealthing. Which leaves only the Lock-on trait to actually apply Reveal to a stealthed enemy.

Lack of a build-saver/template system is my #1 reason. I greatly enjoy build-crafting and testing and switching between professions. I spent alot of time doing that in GW1. However I can’t muster the urge to do that here since it means messing around with a bunch of scraps of paper and/or external spreadsheets.

This has also discouraged my participation in dungeons and fractals. I basically stick to wvw and vanilla pve/world exploration. Hoping the next expac has a saver so I can start enjoying other game modes.

-Zone allied npc’s that aren’t pushovers in combat
-Return of gliding skills from Bloodstone Fen
-Lore items (Caudecus letters, more dialogue available from side-npc’s)
-Intriguing story twist fake Lazarus

Cons:
-final boss fight in too small a room w/ low ceiling making camera difficult to control (but thanks for making adjustments, I’ll have to replay it after update)
-map completion tied to leather-farm/snipe area
-Oil doesn’t automatically combine with key for Noran’s safe room. did the puzzle but left when key didn’t open chest only to find out later that I had the right stuff in inventory, but wasn’t combined.

What I Expect from the Next Xpac

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Raolin Soulherder.3195

I don’t know if I necessarily expect all of that, but my 1 absolute requirement is a build-saver/template system (even if it only saves traits and utility skills).

I had held off buying HoT for a few months since it didn’t have one, but then bought it after hearing that Anet was still working on some unnamed features that they might give us after the expac release (maybe things that were meant to be included in HoT, but weren’t ready in time for the release date). I had held out faith that a build saver was one of these features, but apparently it’s not since it’s been over a year and we’re still waiting. In fact, some of us have been waiting for that feature since GW2 launched. No more free passes from me. Wallet is closed until that becomes available.

kitten good point. I want this too lmao no doubt. I see no reason why it hasn’t been implemented yet. They might be working on it.

people have asked for it since launch. 1st Anet excuse is that they had to re-work the trait system (there used to be 5 trait lines and point allocations for attributes). Well, that is long since passed.

Then they implied it would take longer since they said it is a complex issue due to GW2 having more attributes tied to gear than GW1. Well it’s been years since that statement and still nothing.

I’m getting the feeling that they have no intentions of ever creating one and were just stringing us along with those comments. It boggles my mind because: (A) this is a feature that would equally please fans of every game mode (PVE/PVP/WVW/raid) and skill level (noob/elite), (B) it is less complex than class balancing and (.C) it is less complex than creating massive 3-dimensional maps made for gliding and that include event chains and meta’s. Yet they have implemented, or attempted to implement both ‘B’ and ‘C’ while ignoring the saver. If it is a design decision for the game not to have a build saver, tell us so and we can all move on.

I’ve been noticing very often that alot of times after you’ve selected your profession for Snowball Mayhem (scout, support, heavy gunner) in the spawn area, it switches your profession after you jump out of the starter area.

Can’t figure out why it occurs. At first it seemed to happen if you tried to activate a skill like Snowblind before leaving the spawn area. Or if you forget to select a profession. However I’ve had times where I am careful to select a profession and avoid activating any skills, and it still switches the profession after jumping out of the spawn point. Kind of annoying when many of the matches are decided by who gets out of their spawn the fastest to get the first gift.

Living World 3 maps aren't immersive

in Living World

Posted by: Raolin Soulherder.3195

Raolin Soulherder.3195

While I agree that the LS maps aren’t as immersive as HoT/SW, I kind of understand the reasoning for it. Since the advent of gliding, maps need to be designed differently to cater to it, which probably demands alot more resources to do properly. They might not have as much time to sink into a LS map as they did with expac maps. At least not at the current release interval.

When they released Bloodstone Fen, I was kind of expecting it to be like Dry Top in that we start off with one small bit of the map unlocked, and then more pieces become accessible as the LS moves along so you end up with a bigger map. I did enjoy the map and gliding. I was a bit disappointed to move to a whole different area with dreary colors like Ember Bay. The environments seems kind of scattershot in theme between volcanoes, icy mountains, and red chaos and a bit gimmicky with things like thermal propulsion bouncing people everywhere.

Other than that, I can’t really put my finger on why the maps don’t interest me as much. Maybe it’s just that fighting more dragon minions is getting old. None of the enemies seem to have much personality. They’re all a bunch of mindless drones/animals fighting for a handful of rarely-encountered dragon overlords that are behind the scenes. At least when you are fighting an enemy human faction like in GW1, the main enemies have some culture (ie. Kourna)and feel more real and complex.

Happy to have that cleared up.
However the bugs people were reporting initially do seem to have cleared up a bit. Or maybe I was just luckier the last time I did it compared to all the other times I’ve tried it. I no longer see tons of posts claiming this is broken.

Looking through this post there are complaints about the penalty box. That isn’t broken, it’s stupid and horrible but not broken. I see two people saying the updraft didn’t work but one had a friend who managed to complete the mission. Because updrafts work differently in this mission compared to the entire rest of the game (god knows who signed off on that decision) it may be player error not broken updrafts.

So unless I’m mistaken there’s only you with an issue in this thread.

You are mistaken and it’s not just me having the bugs:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Heart-and-Minds-Final-Story-Step-Bugs/page/2#post6191694

Other people in other threads reporting the same…just not that many people reporting as before because…let’s be honest, most people have given up and left it long ago.

Saying that a bug it’s “just you” is irrelevant and actually just wrong information designed to belittle and demean people. This bug is repeatable, reported by an entire party of players and posted here so people can post similar experiences. If you don’t like it or how I express myself, go somewhere else…your response isn’t required.

this. I had a pretty good time doing some HoT events and going through the story, but Hearts & Minds pretty much killed any desire I might've had to even advance the personal story on any of my other characters after I finished it on my first one. it's tremendously frustrating to go through the combat with little or no issues, only to have some stupid buggy mechanic like the updrafts killing you when they fail to work. and then having to sit in a penalty box for 15 minutes while your dwindling party struggles to finish the mission. I haven't set foot in any of the HoT personal story content since.

Build Swapping, 3 Years On

Posted by: Raolin Soulherder.3195

Raolin Soulherder.3195

this is the main thing that is killing the game for me. I’d like to experiment but there’s not much incentive to do it because it’s a hassle to switch between builds. if your experiment doesn’t work, you have to manually reset everything (hopefully you remember what you had before). nobody wants to mess around with scraps of paper or 50 browser bookmarks. it’s more encouragement for people to just mindlessly plug in whatever they find at metabattle and stick with it, reducing build diversity & increasing boredom.

I don’t understand why making a build saver is so difficult for them. they’ve done it before in gw1. you don’t have to re-animate anything, or rebalance skills, or make new maps. no calculations on how your change will affect the game economy or troubleshooting the clipping issues on a new skin. it’s just a simple QoL improvement that would positively affect everyone, no matter what their favorite game mode is, yet we’re nearly 4 years in and still without one. not even a simple one that can save traits and skills.

Idea on addressing blobs in WvW?

in WvW

Posted by: Raolin Soulherder.3195

Raolin Soulherder.3195

the problem is if you halve the population per map but leave maps the same size, each map will be alot more empty and it will be harder for the groups to find eachother to get fights. lower population density might also encourage k-training

part of what sets wvw apart from other pvp is the large scale fights. that’s the entire reason some people play it. imo that’s part of the reason why ppl didn’t like the DBL’s and other HoT wvw content (like banners), because those things were designed to split up blobs (not to mention that the banners could also be abused by larger groups fighting smaller ones).

-I’ve read that the map design is basically trying to ensure that players leave a group on each BL instead of each server owning their own entire BL. This makes it feel less like a “home” and less worth defending for your turf. While trying to split zergs up is an admirable goal, there are some people who like LARGE-scale group fighting. That’s the reason they’re in WvW in the first place instead of PvP.

-I’m probably alone in this, but I don’t like the random hologram gathering nodes in the towers/keeps. Gathering isn’t fun. You just stand in front of a node (that doesn’t even look like the item you’re collecting) and press ‘F’. Now every time we cap something, we have to pause while waiting for 80% of the group to do this silly process. imo, let’s get moving so we can find some more fights.

What's the Appeal of Alpine Borderlands?

in WvW

It’s not that the Alpine BL’s are the greatest thing in the world. They’re just better than the Desert BL’s.

1. DBL is too big, which means you spend more time traveling and less time fighting.
2. convoluted layout, like a maze (more travel, less fight).
3. large number of cliffs/walls makes it harder to see enemy groups to begin with (more search, less fight).
4. choke points is a very bad combo with the weak-stability/pirate-ship meta. Groups are already hesitant to push in the open field, much less a choke point (more time staring at each other, less time fighting).
5. Tower positioning has no strategic value beyond PPT (less incentive to capture, so less incentive to fight over)
6. WP’s are too easy to get. WP’s used to be precious & ppl would rush to defend them.
7. Annoying mechanics, like the pop-up rock walls and barricades that hinder solo roamers (both of these make traveling feel even more arduous)
8. Annoy door-breaking event in the center. This makes it easier for groups to make sneaky captures (once again, avoiding fights)
———————————————————-

In fairness to Anet, DBL had some good ideas worth keeping:
1. Desert theme was visually very pretty, and good to have as a change of pace.
2. towers having their own interesting visual “flavor” (academy/necropolis)
3. tougher lords/npc’s
4. Shrines are kind of cool. don’t mind those mechanics
5. Dolyak buffs for escorters, new dolyak skins (I also like the old skins, but it’s fresh)
6. Sentry buffs to paint enemies
7. upgrades that don’t cost gold. It used to be a big money drain.

The Unlimited Gathering Tools is tedious!

I’ve never bought gathering tools for this reason.

It’s supposed to be convenient, and actually it’s not . Except if you play on only one character or you want to spend hundred of euros only to get gathering tools on all of your characters of course.

Yea, I never could understand it either. I would think if ppl had the patience to gather at all in the first place, they wouldn’t mind occasionally breaking a tool or having to mail a tool between toons. If that’s annoying, might as well forget the unlimited tools and just convert your gems to gold and buy your mats off the TP. Skip the middleman.

Ah you’re one of those. So that entirely justifies you. Yep. Sure thing. I won’t argue with a I’m so leet fight guild perp, I know how big your ego is.
Still doesn’t change the fact that a focus point is a part of any fight, whether it’s drawn so a perp like you can see it or not. This applies to real life as well in real combat. I rest my case, goodbye young one.

Camera panning minimizes game

I run dual monitors and play gw2 full-screen on the left one. However I’ve noticed an issue. Usually when my cursor reaches the right edge of the game screen (right edge of the left monitor), it stops. But sometimes (typically when I’m hastily using the mouse to pan the camera) , the cursor continues moving past the game screen and onto my second monitor screen (cursor icon even changes from the game icon to the windows cursor icon), effectively leaving the game. Sometimes when this happens, it even minimizes the game. As you might imagine, this has disastrous results in a fight.

Is this just something that must be lived with, or is there a fix? I’ve tried to reproduce this effect, but usually can’t when things are calm/out-of-combat. Even in combat, it’s sporadic. A guildie suggested turning off ‘windowed fullscreen’, but I’m not sure what this is or how to do it. Plus, if I turn off windowed fullscreen, will I still me able to see things on my second monitor while playing? I usually like to have teamspeak open on the second one, or sometimes am referencing a gw2 wiki page on it.

a couple notes: it seems to only happen when I’m holding one of the mouse buttons down as I’m moving it. And it is pretty common if I start the drag just an inch or two from the right edge of the game screen

I Hate Dragon Ball (and you can too)

I’m not big on pvp, but I’ve had a ton of fun with Dragonball. Everyone has the same skills, so it’s easy to learn/memorize compared to regular pvp. There’s alot of strategy in the ways to use the skills, plus the shortcuts & switchbacks to take around the arena if you’re being pursued. Plus I love Cantha, so it’s nice to have some of that flavor.

My main complaint is the stupid jump pad in the spawn point. There isn’t alot of margin for error, so half the time, if you don’t hit it just right, you fail to get out. Would it kill them to give that pad 10% more power so you could go out and have fun instead of struggling to get out of spawn? Then there are also the collision detection issues. I’ve had ppl hit me through walls with the upgraded #1 skill, then get the ‘obstructed’ message when shooting someone almost point-blank range with the default #1. I’d also echo others in that the rewards are a little sparse. You should get a little something for every win.

Medkit analysis and suggestions

Here is the math how much different skills heal without any healing power:
Medkit heals 226 hp/s + regeneration (assuming every 6 second activation of medkit #2-5), 356 hp/s with regeneration
Warrior’s healing signet heals 362 hp/s.
Healing turret heals 484 hp/s (assumed one blast per longer water field)

shouldn’t you also account for the toolbelt skill for an apples-to-apples comparison? Bandage Self can add another 5k heal every 15 seconds by itself if you take Tools traitline. there’s also the capability to get an extra 5k heal roughly every 45 seconds if you take Kinetic Battery and are able to get it to proc at the right time, which can admittedly be unreliable.

My comparison includes the toolbelt skills.

Mechanized_Deployment doesn’t reduce the cooldown of “bandage”. It is still 17 seconds (and 18 seconds with using the skill).

I know it doesn’t reduce the cooldown, but it should. Whether it’s bugged is a different conversation. Your math is wrong either way. 4920 toolbelt heal every 18 seconds is 273 hps without regen and 403 hps with regen. Adding the 2-5 skills is another 195 hps. So total heal capacity is 598 hps (including regen) if things function without bugging and skills are spammed on CD. And that’s without traits or healing power.

why cap condition duration?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Raolin Soulherder.3195

Raolin Soulherder.3195

There isn’t a cap, the stats are bugged when it stops at 100%…

I was having similar thoughts when compiling a burn build but I noticed if I added an extra 30% manually to 100% duration, the stat would stay 100% while the damage tips on skills would increase duration.

For ELE:
Givers weapons – 20%
Burning Precision Trait – 20% burn uptime
Rare Veggie Pizza – 40%
Toxic Crystal – 10%
Smoldering Sigil – 20%
Sup sig of Malice – 10%
Sup rune of Balth – 10% + 15% + 20% = 45%

Total burn uptime is: 165% burn duration increase, it will reflect on your skill toolbar, but not on the stats in Hero Panel.

Are you sure there isn’t a cap? the wiki lists a cap of +100%. Even if tips list more than that, it could just be accounting for situations where the opponent has -% duration. So if you have 165% duration and fight someone with no -% duration modifiers, the duration would be capped at 100%. But if you fight someone with -40% condi food, you’d still be dealing +100% duration since your net stat would be 125%.

It’s kinda like how movement speed is capped at +33%, even tho there are certain effects and traits that list +50%. You could see a benefit from the extra +% if someone casts a movement-impeding condition on you like cripple or chill.

The match-up System came to a halt.

can’t really blame Anet. when they vary the opponents, people complain about the large disparities in matchups that result in lots of blowouts. when they pair up the closest ranking servers, people complain about it getting boring fighting the same people.

as long as you dont have screenshots that show him flying in the air with the hack its no proof…

that spot on your screenshot can be reached easily by everyone with a few jumps

Do you see the WP?

what does the WP have to do with anything?

You have to be inside the keep to do these few easy jumps, WP shows you that the keep wasn’t recently flipped, and that mesmer is not someone whos just hide inside after the fight its over, so there is no legal way to get up there.

mesmers hide inside places after fights all the time. the screenshot does nothing to prove that the mes in question didn’t do that. not saying they weren’t hacking, but that screenshot doesn’t prove it

Double teaming allowed?

in WvW

Posted by: Raolin Soulherder.3195

Raolin Soulherder.3195

Just quite simply asking if it’s allowed with coordinated double teaming against the third opponent.

Example: You’re server “1” and is the one getting double teamed against. While one blob from server “2” is trying to take your Garri/Keep on one side drawing your attention, the other blob from server “3” comes behind. In this example, Server “2” succeeds to ram the door/cata the wall open where our server gets ready to fight, naturally. Server “3” succeeds getting their wall/door open also.

Now, from multiple observations and the fact that server “3” has higher score and is higher on leaderboards, server “2” is just aiding server “3” in getting points. At this time, We are holding the Keep/Garri as long as possible while small guild groups is caping stuff on their homeborders instead.

This happened to Dragonbrand recently. Some players from Maguuma and Stormbluff Isle made a pseudo-alliance with each other. Stormbluff doesn’t have the numbers, so they’ll distract us while the big Mag blobs hit where they want.

Of course, once Mag got the middle keep from us they just ran the train on Stormbluff and took their areas… sooo… that worked out well. All’s fair in war, but I have to laugh at the utter failure of that plan to work out in SBI’s favor.

no alliance that I’ve heard of. just opportunity. SBI is screwed either way. least we can do is get some delicious QQ out of DB for the messing w/ our BL. 4th time in a row facing DB will not breed much compassion
