BG is clearly the best. Such PPT. #money
From my Experience with Maguuma So Called Roamer’s is when its 1vs1 they start running for the hills or just run into they find guildies they turn on you right away once they out number you.
How Can Mirrors Be Real If Our Eyes Aren’t Real
This is the worst idea I have ever read in this subforum.
…Bomb kit and toolkit are must haves…
I disagree with the TK. I very rarely use toolkit on my condi builds, and I’m doing just fine.
I’m only looking at the four skills on the OP’s list.
Hey guys, aftering watch some vids of kit Engineers such as Yishi, I’ve decided to main my Engineer (after getting ascended weapons for my necro and mesmer…. sigh) The kit builds seem like so much fun in WvW (I previously had my Engineer as HGH and HATED maintaining might stacks)
I’m using a mix of Dire and Rabid right now with Perplexity. I have ~25% just so I can proc Incendiary Powder (otherwise I would do more Dire, anyone with less crit have trouble procing it? I may try using more Dire) Thinking about trying Noble runes but seems like it has the same annoyance factor as HGH.
I was curious for your thoughts on kit choice. I am particularly interested in Bomb Kit, Toolkit, and Elixir Gun.
More specifically… I need to pick between Bomb Kit and Toolkit, Elixir Gun and Rocket Boots
Sigil of Battle + Noble Runes + Enhanced Performance is a very easy might stacking combo. Just run medkit and swap it in and out every so often. You don’t even have to use any of the skills. In a condition build I think the perplexity bonuses are better than extra damage from might stacking.
I’d pick bomb kit, toolkit, and elixir gun from the choices you listed. Bomb kit and toolkit are must haves. Rocket boots offers easy to use mobility. However, elixir gun gives you some mobility and a whole lot more.

Potent elixirs works. It just doesn’t change the tooltip. However, the duration bonuses from potent elixirs and elite supplies don’t stack.
I want a power engi build but I don’t want to have to use SD is this an ok build? what are the first few problems that come to mind?
suggest a few different options.
edit: forgot rifle mods.
You will have survivability issues running full zerker, but the build is solid. I’ve been running nearly the same thing (personal battering ram instead of rocket boots) and having a blast with it.
I assume this was done for spvp reasons (like everything else that happens to this class). Ascended damage doesn’t exist in spvp so they can’t just flat out buff kits/banners/conjures. They have to buff those only in pve/wvw.
I don’t understand this though… they already have the ability to split a skill in two for PvE and SPvP/WvW. Why would a kit skill be an exception?
I think they just forgot to split the skills when the ascended stuff first came out. I’m just speculating, though.

Shout out to [TB] for the hilarious battles on Mag. You are my favorite guild ever.
But grenades are almost entirely useless for 1v1, or small groups.
This isn’t true. I think you just need more practice using grenades.
superior tactics
omfg why did I miss this
It was boring as kitten. Same pvd, just with minions.
We were RPing as a T1 server. I enjoyed it.
What in the world is happening in this thread?
Mesmers do not own confusion. Have you ever heard of engineers? These runes are not an attack on mesmers. Yes, these runes give whoever uses them a good source of confusion ( including mesmers…). I think this is a good thing because they open up a lot of new and interesting condition builds.
All you have to do is believe in yourself.
Gear shield only has a cooldown of 3 seconds?!
Not to be a jerk, but I can’t take you seriously when you say things like “swap to something else, use 2 skills, and go back.” to Gear Shield.
Also, classes don’t use “lesser skills” while waiting for their cooldowns. Their #1 weapon skills is usually a very nasty 3 part chain with MUCH higher damage than anything our #1 weapon OR kit skills have to offer.
Kits are weak. Shuffling Kits every 2 seconds doesn’t make you a good player. End of story.
Read it again. He didn’t say gear shield had a 3 second cooldown. The point is that you shouldn’t ever find yourself waiting on a cooldown because kits give us so many things to do.
Kits are not weak. Spamming 1 erryday doesn’t make you a good player. End of story.
Wow Yaks Bend. Your sieged up north camp is one of the most pathetic things I have seen in this game. Dem trebs.
If you haven’t seen it already, this website is amazing for tinkering with builds. It does all the math for you.

I’ve been running a build similar to what you describe. 0/20/20/0/30, Knight’s armor, and Carrion jewelry slotted with Berserker jewels. After food and stacks this setup gives enough condition damage for ~100 damage bleeds and ~300 damage confusions. The tradeoff is abysmally low crit damage (something like 44%).
(Caveat: I didn’t watch your video. You may have answered some of my questions there)
I have been working on a very similar build because I also enjoy 1vX in WvW. A hybrid mesmer with decent confusion damage works great for that playstyle. This is mine:
Despite different gear, our overall stats are about the same. We differ most in some trait choices and our rune sets, so I’ll ask about those. Why do you use Desperate Decoy instead of Blade Training? Why do you use that assortment of runes?
EDIT: Aaaaand you answered my questions while I was writing this post.

Rabid.
Nemo already explained why the stats works well together, so I’ll tackle how to acquire the armor set. You can get everything except for the chest and boots from Orr karma vendors. If you are rich, then you can buy the chest and boots off the tp for outrageous prices. Otherwise, you can run some dungeons. I wound up running HotW.
Absolutely true. I should mention that I am primarily a WvW player. That skews my perspective on gear. If you are a PvEer who runs all zerker all the time, then I understand why you’d go for the ascended zerker amulet. You’d get it for that extra infusion slot.

I thought about this for a long time. In the end I went with the celestial amulet for the following reasons:
1. I play a lot of different specs, and I can use this amulet with all of them.
2. The difference between and ascended zerker amulet and an exotic zerker amulet with a jewel is 11 power, 6 prec, and 1% crit damage. Are those extra stats worth 30 laurels to you? They aren’t to me. The celestial is also very close in stats to the Triforge. However, the Triforge is virtually impossible for me to acquire . Laurels are my only realistic way to obtain a stat spread like celestial’s.
3. The celestial has something like 35% more raw stats (accounting for crit and MF) than any other exotic amulet.

The portal change isn’t a big deal (if I understand it correctly). Being able to interact with a portal through a door was extremely broken and abused in WvW.
The Mirror change is interesting but probably not interesting enough to get me to use it.
The Prestige change is huge! O.M.G. The days of random AoE damage knocking us out of stealth are over.
Supposedly regeneration causes the condition removal food to proc, but I’ve never tested that.
One idea that hasn’t been mentioned is to use Melandru runes and the -40% condition duration food (or the -36% food if you are cheap like me). This gives a total of -65% condition duration, making immobilize much less threatening.
Here is the kicker: Any incarnation of the portals counts as a glamour field.
In my experience, portal only acts as a glamour field after you’ve dropped both parts. What are you doing to get confusion procs off the entrance only?
I don’t know why.
So you’re saying that you want to double team a server (possibly the most unfair thing possible) in the name of “fair play”. Did I interpret that right?
