I’m sorry, BG did it first, with 57 golems
Did you hear that guys? It’s Blackgate, self-proclaiming themselves as the best at anything and everything, from Tequatl kills, to Season 1 “World” champions, and even golemancy. All bow down to our ruler, the sovereign, the all-mighty Blackgate. We’re not worthy, we’re not worthy.
Blackgate is basically the ’Murica of wvw servers.
Yes, you do lose them on downed. They’re still really, really strong though.
Max ppt: 695
230 * 3 = 690
wow such math
BG takes personal offense when people take objectives on our maps.
What is with everyone on Badgegate running bunkers when they roam? I realize that you dudes are terrible and face tank everything, but you’re never going to get better if you play such forgiving easy mode builds. Strap on some damage and let’s have a fight that doesn’t last 10 minutes.
Would like to point out that the longer a fight lasts, the higher the chance that the better player will win.
Even were we to pay 100% of their transfer costs, they’ve gained nothing, because that money went to paying for their transfers.
Automation doesn’t cost more (and can cost less) resources than client triggering because you still have to listen for client input (which is basically automation). This could be more resource intensive for the server if the automation was very rapid, such as firing every frame, but they could easily get away with half second pulses.
SoR map chat is laid back until anyone says “But wouldn’t it be better if…”.
For the record, I’ve called commanders idiots for:
-Hearing “Huge BG zerg at gate, 3 rams up. Golem” and then asking me “What guild is it? What’s door %? Is there any siege setup?”
Who gives a crap? There’s a zerg-10 or 15 or 20 people, whatever qualifies as a zerg nowadays – there’s 3 rams up and a golem, and someone who obviously doesn’t think the situation can be handled by him/her alone is asking for help to defend. Just. Get. There.
-Yelling at people during a tower/keep defense because someone dared to put down a regular AC…even though he, the commander, isn’t dropping anything, and the siege is badly needed. Protip; when there’s no siege at all, a regular AC is better than zero Superiors.
-Saving a T1 keep at the expense of a nearly completed T3.
-Sending an entire zerg to defend North camp when it’s basic, and then ignoring calls for help when it’s fully upgraded and sieged.
-And, of course, monolithic adherence to booming voice The One Way, Namely Ours!
If you ask me, I was going easy on them.
To be fair, your first 2 points don’t really make any sense. That additional information is necessary to making an informed decision, and dropping regular acs can actually be a hindrance to your server if the commander has something else in mind for that supply.
As for the rest of it, I don’t have any context for it so who knows.
Traps seem too good, and an “Always on” indicator of enemy force location (even one that only activates with incredibly large numbers) seems like a crutch to replace proper scouting. Aside from that, everything seems pretty good. I’d like to see WvW Rank points refactored or removed, but I doubt that will ever happen at this point.
It’s appalling how some people think you need to do overtime for a freaking video game.
A video game is made for fun. It’s not a job. Seems like people have forgotten that.
It’s appalling how some people think playing to win is something to be ashamed of.
http://www.sirlin.net/articles/playing-to-win-part-1.htmlYou can do what you want, but don’t insult others for making life choices that don’t suck them into an ultimately meaningless competition that was meant to be fun. I’m referring to quotes of people telling SoR SEA guilds to stay up past their prime time to match BG coverage.
I’m not insulting you, it’s perfectly fine to play casually. It’s not alright to cry that your opponents don’t.

Paper hills? My, my, imagine that.

What are people complaining? Warrior actually didn’t get buffed this patch, play/understand the class before spitting such bullkitten on these forums. I’ll break the patch down for you.
People aren’t complaining that warrior got buffed, people are complaining that warrior didn’t get nerfed. Warriors are all around the best class in the game at the moment.
I like how “only” is like 6 ways to remove or mitigate conditions.
I’m not saying you can’t kill them, sometimes they don’t have GS equipped so they have to stay and fight.
the warrior was sold as a class that was easier to be “good” on then other classes, I will say that this is more then true. The problem is the other classes that should be better when played well do not have a significant enough reward for the effort. So either other classes need tweaking in certain areas or warriors need to come down a bit. Lets be honest thou its really hammer warriors and how well they play with so much of the spec being passive.
Spot on. Why is the easiest class in the game also the strongest?
No.
NO.
No.
NONONO.
How about no.
Pretty kitten Op buffs there, what you get for wvw xp should not buff you against other players, the ones that already do were a mistake. I am fine with your siege weapons and such getting better with wvw xp but not your stats or more tools to create gaps between players and make fair fights impossible. So once again no.
Please explain how you see players getting a buff through siege is acceptable and stat buffs are not? Please consider in yur response the fact that roamers will be fighting 1v2 at least whilst probably getting shot by siege. Please leave your AC and play the game.
You’re assuming that siege mastery and other wvw abilities are acceptable to a balanced game; they aren’t. The only reason they have for existing is that pve-ers need their carrots.
Never been in an hour and 30 minute long fight with that many banners in our garrison. The last 30 minutes BG didn’t even have a force anymore, it was just 30 people bannering the lord while 10-15 tried to ninja our hills.
There was probably 30-50 banners dropped on that lord.
30 people bannering? Try 5-7 with necro and a lot of trolling.
Reading comprehension is key~

Only in GW2 are people ridiculed for playing the game as intended by the developers.
Speaking for myself, and I’m sure many other people from Blackgate feel this way, JQ’s getting transfers is fine. It’s great that they’re a truly competitive server in T1 now. The worry is that the double teaming shenanigans that has historically happened (because Blackgate was the strongest, so it made sense) will continue despite the fact that all 3 T1 servers are more or less equal.
Well props to BG, you guys have those nodes locked down way better than anyone else and it pays off. Had some fun 1v1v1 thief v thief v thief with an ICOA and a CERN in that little corridor under the ruins yesterday.
Yeah that was a good fight. Lots of good fights around bloodlust, though the points did get a bit zergy at times.
Would rather see it removed entirely. Honestly (and this will never happen), I’d rather they remove all of the wxp traits, and replace them with some cosmetic kitten or w/e they want that doesn’t actually affect gameplay.
So much belief in this thread.
@OP: Rofl, #4 vs #5 vs #7 and you cry that loud?
In a winner up looser down system you would play
vs Blackgate instead of TC, i.e. #3 vs #5 vs #7Edit: Sorry for missunderstanding you, Naracion With a

you would have made your humor more clear
Impossible. Blackgate and SoR can’t be separated.
I would honestly remove all of the statistical benefits of WxP traits and replace them with cosmetic ones. Might as well keep the footing as even as possible, and if they’re really keen on specialization, they should choose a method that doesn’t involve people who play more getting more buffs.
Everyone’s always looking for more hammer warriors in WvW.
i think BG need FA and Mags so they can chill from all the overtime they are pulling O.o
Wait, are we pulling overtime now? Here I was thinking we were just that stacked. But wait, this match was much closer than last weeks… so I guess SoR is pulling overtime? Or were they holding back? Please make up a consistent excuse so we over here at BG can know what our transgressions are.
All respect lost ND + friends 4 sup ac for a open world fight gg
This is the mindset of the scrub. It’s a valid tactic. ANet put it in the game, it’s fair play, and restricting yourself (and attempting to do so to others) to only using certain “fair” strategies is sad.

Stop calling zergs “map zergs”; you don’t know how many they have on the map firstly and secondly 3 people on a map can be called a map zerg if you have 3 people on the map. This applies to everyone, especially my servermates.
INC ALL OF THEM 1+
stay classy iron.
with 40 man zerg have to result into killing the only ac in the tower.Clearly Blackgate hides behind their ACs so they must be taken away by whatever means necessary!
This is just another poor example with stupid screenshots.
Yes indeed that guardian glitched through the gate and was actually walking back towards us.
And that AC was still up when we got the door down which was like 30 seconds later.
Good aditude! keep it classy BG random!
Several people glitched in, and most of them jumped out immediately. The guardian, and one guildless person, decided to stay inside to destroy the superior ac instead, taking it from full to 0 health. And yes, the ac was destroyed, we built another one afterwards.
After those people glitched in it took around 30seconds to get the gate down. I doubt that you managed to rebuild that arrowcart seeing how many green dots you have on the minimap.
But if that guardian stayed and killed the arrowcart. I appoligize in his behalve.
Eventho the picture onlu shows a symbol of swiftness and a running guardian
I have my own screenshots that were sent to anet, and not posted here. Additionally, with the new repair mastery it’s possible to build siege in seconds. Thirty seconds is plenty of time to build an arrow cart.

Skill lag is not based on the client’s hardware, it’s based on the server’s hardware. The way to fix skill lag is for ANet to buy more/better servers.
Or for ANET servers to have less simultaneous calculations to perform which could be achieved by lowering the WvW map population caps or finding ways to strongly dis-incentivize clustering together of players on a map.
WvW is a poorly designed game mode. They wanted to have really large scale fights, which would work fine if the servers could handle it. The servers clearly couldn’t handle it, but they pushed this design through anyway, instead of redesigning the game mode to compensate for their poor servers.
The sad thing is, in WvW’s current state, this really is a “throw money at it” problem.

AoE abilities still affect a thief during a stealth stomp…
Probably because they don’t play/haven’t faced Engis 1v1.
I hear Wilco.1458 is in the top 10 for most dangerous asura in the game!
Must be a short list.
I suggest the dude who posts on 3 accounts watches this. Also the guy doin the church posts and pretty much anybody with a forum presence.
Or just keep being average and post away
Posted this 5 pages back and what followed was some of the most childish posts ever made for this match up thread. People still posting on 2+ accounts trying to troll. Some even claiming to be adults and still posting toxic negative comments.
CNN posted a funny story about trolls. It’s easy to talk behind a game name but in the real world I’m sure most of you are quiet and very average. This is a video game maybe one day when you see your kid or maybe a young cousin playing call of duty or kingdom of hearts you wake up and understand its fun and nothing more. Play the game and shut up. I’d like to see a video game dev company make people post with real names and tie in Facebook. More than half of you would dip out.

In short your posting on a account that has made up name
Blizzard tried it. There was massive backlash, and they backed off on it.
About the whole ghost tonic issue:
Can an officer in HL pm me please?
I dunno if anyone mentioned this yet, but SOR only wins due to coverage and numbers, BG wins every single time the numbers are even….
SOR also tends to run ONLY in massive zergs while BG uses highly coordinated smaller groups. Of course when these small, highly coordinated BG groups run into the SOR hyper zerg they lose. But if the elite, super skilled, smaller BG groups fight even numbers, they always win the fight and force SOR to run inside their towers to hide behind Arrow carts.
Yeah, this sounds about right.
You know how to tapdance Letoll?
Man, I read that as lapdance, and now I’m wondering just what you guys get into in those garrisons :o
How do you think they got into the garrisons in the first place?
Engineers are also incredibly powerful at roaming.
pls Ante don’t delete this my another post.. I just wanted to ask how you can pass water gate of overlock while the gate is closed and destroy all seige . IRON you got kitten inside even this …hahah
I’m sure Ante won’t do anything about it — dunno about Anet though :P
Um, trying to decipher what you said. That gate looks open to me though, just saying. Another pic?
She posted again with 2 additional SS a moment ago, but I don’t see that post now. In the second set of screens the gate was clearly closed, though I only saw 1 SoR on the wall.
Cool link bro, but i’m not gonna bother clicking it.
@Jericho
I let them know on TS.
TL;DR for you.
Synopsis: Humans have a biological urge to compete and win. From it, “I play for fun” was born, the idea that those who play video games with a greater intensity than others are not enjoying themselves. It’s bullkitten. Most everyone plays video games for fun. If they didn’t, they would do something else. “I play for fun” is a defeatist response to superior skill and play, the implication that “If I competed and trained as hard as you do, I’d kick your kitten .” This philosophy has been egged on by popular video games, whose mechanics often reward playtime over skill. Ultimately, it’s an excuse. It’s a means to diminish the pursuit of playing games skillfully, the idea that anyone better than you “needs to get a life”. The value of a pursuit is largely irrelevant, and judged by the body of history, most people are irrelevant. If one seeks to play games at a high level, they have that prerogative. If you don’t like it, you have two ways to deal with it: Get better, or stop playing. While you do that, skilled players will be winning more than you, and having fun doing it.
What anger? Pot meet kettle much? lol
So now you guys admit to pulling OT? Make up your minds.
Waahh my opponents put more effort into the game than I care to and perform better as a result. No one’s paid to play more, we do it because we enjoy it.
By all means, try harder then, we all know how much BG cares about winning. Just remember kiddies its just a game.

BG has more than a sizable EU force. The problem with them is that they only hop into wvwvw when one of the HB commander shows up (from what I’ve gathered). BG actually has a lot of pugs floating about in EU. If you guys can actually recruit those guys into larger guilds, you’ll have an EU force to be reckoned with. Not sure if the extra bodies I’ve been seeing is from the overtime or not, but since so many BGs insist they aren’t pulling overtime, I’ll just assume those guys in the EU time zone aren’t guys pulling overtime. This means BG does indeed have a larger, but more unorganized EU force than SoR.
I wouldn’t call it overtime; we just love the game. But yeah, a lot of us are willing to put in the extra effort to win by pushing into the later time zones. The sentiment that actually trying for your win is somehow a bad thing is ludicrous.
Guys, he’s joking.
The SoR excuses so far:
“Sor only plays for the fights and doesn’t care about ppt”
“RG saved you guys”
“Double team”
“BG pulls overtime and have no lives”
Kind of ironic, considering the win condition of wvw is ppt, and the way to obtain it is through coverage. You’re basically saying: “shame on you BG for putting in effort to win the game, you should never be allowed to try harder than us!”
Maybe overtime was pulled, maybe not, but don’t act like that’s even remotely a bad thing. But I guess you guys all play for fun, right?

Would love to see new finishers unlocked with WvW ranks or something.
