But honestly that is it. I mean I am a footman which is about average I think, I know there are people Colonel and General maybe even a Veteran or two on SoR, I assume there has to be some on JQ and BG… So where are you?

I don’t want this to turn into a kitten contest of who is highest or anything I just honestly want to know why everyone around here seem to be so low. Do you guys change characters every day or something?

I’ve mostly been playing other games, many of the people I used to run with are as well. A lot of people probably only pop in occasionally.

Are the SoR commanders encouraging their guild KoM to camp the JQ BL jumping puzzle? Kind of cheap if you ask me.

Instead of doing that, they could be trying to claw back the score advantage we’ve built up over the weekend (currently 21000 and rising). But I guess they have their priorities…

And they didn’t earn themselves a JP gank break? They’re denying your server siege, potentially drawing people in to kill them, tying up your forces as they try to jp, and clearly annoying you. Seems valuable to me.

I hope that people from BG are able to look past all this nonsensical flaming and trolling and realize that even if we’d managed to maintain a 14k lead over JQ going into reset, we would’ve still been second in the overall scores after reset because of the glicko point system.

That being said, I think that our SEA coverage is still not where JQs is. We need to be able to counter FOO. The only guild I know of that might be capable of it is WM. So someone go buy them.

It’s been suggested that drop are based on the lvl of the toon you killed. Have you solo-ed a lowbie and getting a lvl40+ item? Based on that premise, an exotic/rare will probably drop from a very high lvl person. Btw, some folks have been getting rares from Supers.

Its pot luck if a person who wants commander becomes a good one. And it is not a fun job to do when you are fighting an equal foe. That is when you are juggling three separate attacks with trebs and siege and golems being built behind, with a zerg breaker team sneaking around the hill to flank and arrows pouring out of the sky onto everything.

My roomate tried to set this game up for use with an xbox 360 controller. He was playing an elementalist, and ran out of buttons very quickly. If you’re suggesting console players also use a mouse and keyboard, you’ll run into new problems with rendering and optimization. Keep in mind that even very high end machines have tons of issues in WvW. Consoles are less powerful than even low tier machines.
Now, you could suggest “put it on the new PS4/Xbox361”. It would be cheaper for a consumer (who would have to use a mouse and keyboard to play anyway) to upgrade whatever computer they own to the point where it could play the game than to buy a new system.

This is probably my favorite fractal too. I never really have problems with the veterans because I play a GC thief, so damage isn’t really an issue.

I’m on Blackgate, but instances are on separate servers, and there’s guesting. As far as classes, the ranger can deal some pretty decent damage from a range (as the name suggest), and has a really nice water field. Rangers are pretty squishy though, so you’ll have to be careful in pvp.
Elementalist can dish out a lot of damage at long range with the staff, and has the option of playing a brawler style with X/Dagger.
Thieves have a lot of aoe with shortbow, and some really nice close range support with cluster bomb. Downside is that your range is shorter and cluster bomb’s travel time takes a while at long distances.
Mesmers have a lot of powerful range options and utility options, but they start really slow, so you’ll be in for a slog if you go this route.

Every class has range options, but these are the ones I prefer.

You can add me in game and I’ll help you out with gearing and fractals if you like. I don’t think I’ll be on at until tomorrow though.

On topic: I disagree with the notion of more passive abilities. They should instead give players active abilities to disperse a zerg that are clearly telegraphed, give time to react, and have devastating affects if they are allowed to actually connect with the zerg stack. So basically ballista 2 but better. Alternatively, you could try actually using siege.

Technically, Handin is right. The idle timer isn’t intended to stop people from laying there dead as long as they want, it’s intended to clear players who are afk from the server stack. That being said, a mesmer laying there dead isn’t a problem unless there’s someone else (a thief) inside the keep to rez them, or they can be rezzed through a door (which is also a pretty poor design decision imo). This problem is still stemming from the other problem, which complaining to other players about won’t change. What you can do is take measures to stop thieves from stealthing, but I’m hoping that at the very least they add a visible animation upon stealth initiation. This would only matter if you were already stealthed when using CnD, so it wouldn’t harm thieves in actual combat.

No, we’re not defending it as something intended by ANet, we’re defending peoples’ right s to utilize existing game mechanics in any way they choose to. Until ANet patches this out of existence (and I agree, CnD on a wall is bullkitten, and I play a thief), people are going to do it. Players shouldn’t have to restrict themselves in respect to game mechanics because of external factors that aren’t built into the game.

Cloak and Dagger is a class ability, not a method of play. If you’re referring to spamming CnD on walls: it’s ANet’s job to fix that, not the playerbase’s.

All I’m going to bring up here is the Trojan Horse, it was a proven tactic from ancient greece, since then governments and police agencies around the world have implemented spies and deep cover operatives. This in my eyes this is no different, and branches from a concept that works. I am all for clever things so my vote goes with the guys who do it well, and the first time I saw a dead mesmer being rez’d by a thief was PiNK from Tc, and I was amazed. Good on them for tricking us, mad respect guys.

Sadly, that might have been me..I’ve spent too many hours dead in a keep with someone sitting on my face camping me like a national forest…it’s a really amazing tactic to use, but now I think many BG and KA are catching on to our devious ways! I must say, you guys have really learned how to sweep a keep thoroughly!

You won’t be winning any 1v1s, but you can still support your team, carry supply, use siege, etc.

defend the keep: yeah this is kind of silly
ranged attack blockers: necessary to ensure at least some sort of defenders advantage
arrow carts: working as intended, build them in better locations
defending: worth it because towers and camps get upgrades as well. They’re only sacrificial if they aren’t upgraded.

Don’t really see a reason for any of your class changes, or the can’t rez dead people change. Guardians are good enough as is.

The major complaint against MF is that you sacrifice efficiency to gain something for yourself that doesn’t benefit the group. A handful of points to a primary stat is trivial in comparison to 20 GF/MF. There’s no reason not to make that trade, because the additional stats you could bring in are worthless.

The thief teleport has always been one of the main complaints on the thief mechanics, due to its cooldown. Yes you can stomp a teleporting theif, but the window is extremely small – to the point of being more effective to simply unload your damage skills instead. Given the extremely long stomp animation, you have about a 1-2 second window between teleports. If you arent pretty much on top of the thief when he pop up, he’s gonna vanish again.

So for the OP: The answer to the question is “you dont”. Just kill him instead. If you are fighting someone else, use AoE over the downed thief or make sure he is inside melee range. In groups this isnt a problem, solo its a little worse. But then again I’d be more surprised over the fact you could even catch a thief and kill him, rather than having too low dps to kill him when downed.

Thieves have 2 ways to dodge a stomp:

-A teleport; in this case you would want to move over to them and stomp again

-A cloak skill that starts on cooldown when the thief is down; in this case you should just wait for them to be revealed in 3 seconds and then kill them.

The cooldowns are not short enough to be chained and prevent you from stomping.

Wrong. SPvP has a completely different environment from WvW. Decreasing damage will only mean people will stack more in order to compensate. The reason WvW damage may seem high is because when 30 people just spam their attacks, whoever gets caught in that, dies. If you participated in smaller fights, you will notice that damage isn’t that high and certainly can be handled by anyone who knows what they’re doing.

What we need in WvW is to increase AoE damage by uncapping the number of targets an AoE can hit.

I am not against zergs as such, they’re natural after all, but people running in zergs need to be taught a very simple lesson – if you run around all nicely clustered up like a bunch of rabid chickens, a 5-man ambush team will kill you all.

Then we might actually see some tactics in zerg gameplay, like forward scouts, pickets and so on. And yeah… fewer blobs.

just for your knowledge I always and only do small scale balltes when in wvw.. and I’m also pretty succesful at it..
the reason is that I just find terrible that people with some well known spec can reach over 100% crit damage just by having thr right gears..
gears shouldn’t be so powerfull, and they shouldn’t give so much advantage like they do now in wvw..
WvW is full of very bad builds at the moment that just rely on gears for being succesfull, the same kind of build that in a sPvP enviroment don’t shine only because they don’t have the same advantage from too much powerfull gears..
I just think that the mix between gears and build in sPvP is what we would need for wvw too.

Everyone is running around with the same full exotic sets with different stat layouts. Unless someone is upleveled, chances are it’s a fair fight.
