I concur, hell even rings are rare now. I got like 4 rings in the past 5 days and i did all my dailies wtf? Pre HoT I could get 1-2 armor boxes a week and so many rings that I have no idea what to do with them. With the new leather changes its also much more expensive to craft ascended, not to mention getting the crafting profession up to 500 as well, if you are a med armor class.

I collect all the champ bags I get from playing and open them on a level 54 alt. I still get exotics, t6 mats and lodestones since i got the bags from a level 80 char + the greens and blues are at the level range of my alt which gives me linen and rugged leather which are pretty pricey now.

The only downside is that the rares are also dragged down to that level tier but since its not that common and globs are really cheap now I don’t think the loss is enough to negate the gains. Also sometimes the weapons can sell for a pretty penny.

Its not really a “best” way to earn gold but more of increasing what you can potentially earn.

Another thing I did was to farm the left side of the mount maelstrom map. There’s a permanent platinum vein and sometimes a random one near the bottom at the swamp area + the place is full of normal plat and hard wood nodes. Takes bout 10-15 mins if you go fast and its repeatable on multiple chars.

I met someone with 100+ a week ago and asked him where he farmed for the HoT masteries. He wouldn’t tell because apparently his friends were still farming that spot and he didn’t want people crowding it. So its probably a place like cof p1 but in open world?

I’m seeing an awful lot of LFG requests for “VB spider mastery farm” lately. Perhaps that has something to do with it? Dunno what exactly it is, but if I had to guess, perhaps all the veteran spiders in the treetops near the Jaka Itzel?

Perhaps, never tried that myself nor am I keen to try it. (I hate VB) Atm I do see people farming DS for the mob spawns instead of the meta event as well.

It was a somewhat long event chain for the northern pylon, I usually only get 1 per event though.

God bless baubles, I got 10 of it in 1 event at auric basin and it was insta 3g! Also I see people farming fractal 10 for the cubes and ar infusions but since those 2 are going down in price it might not be that profitable anymore.

We had a bug yesterday in thauma where one party member died to the portal/mobs below and got ported up to the boss dead without being able to retry. So we just killed the boss and the cutscene showed but we didnt get ported to the reward chest and the supposedly dead boss just continued to attack us while being invisible without a HP bar. O.o

Am I missing something? I was getting approx 1300 experience per kill

Exploding Draketails (10%) They stack duration.

Its 15 minutes I think, tiger is easy to reach when you know where to get it but I had to literally beg in map chat for 10+ mins for a port to wyvern because I didn’t have the mastery needed. Maybe if I offered gold it would have been quicker but blah. -_- Also you have to finish the map on your ranger because you can’t relog into the map, gets a network connection error or something.

The party i went with was happily dancing and throwing cake around during his death scene lmao.

I got this problem too when i was trying to finish zap t1, I just periodically waypointed every half hour or so to check on her and about 6 hours later I finally saw her as a merchant, but her merchant icon disappeared shortly after I reached her. :/

Triple Trouble gives 4 in total iirc, 3 if you kill each of the wurms and another 1 if you finish all the achievements. Idk how I got my other points though they aren’t shown on my achievements tabs. :/ The other relatively easy ones I know of are the 1 from silverwastes where you have to complete the JP and another 1 from dry top where you have to kill the queen skritt which spawns at t4.

I did it in ~7 hours with boosts stacked and the TV on so that I could get it out of the way and focus on HoT. I already had most of the mastery points I needed and could easily get the others from TT which idk why they weren’t awarded to me since I did complete TT before. I don’t think they’re going to fix it anytime soon, they don’t seem to care from the tweet. The longer they take the less effect its going to make too since many people have already gotten their tyrian masteries maxed out and more are finishing everyday.

I did get my first level of the legendary mastery through cursed shore before doing CoF which wasn’t anymore fun to me. Even though the CoF grind made me feel like puking a couple of times it’s still way better than spending days or months grinding the xp from cursed shore/sw.

Also, if someone is going to quit just because some random strangers whom they didn’t even know existed did something that doesn’t affect them in anyway at all then.. lel ok hf.

Always getting the Network connection error while doing story instance, its extremely irritating because the instances are long and i always get the error in the middle or near the end then i have to restart all over again. Atm third attempt at chapter 15. :/ Had to do a few other chapters so many times over i memorised all their unskippable dialogue.

Edit: My internet is fine, i was listening to some stuff on youtube and had the usual ~200-300 ping since i’m far from the servers. It just suddenly crashes, noticed it usually happens when i fall and die from gliding though sometimes it just randomly happens while im killing a mob. It also only happens when I’m doing story, i never dc anywhere else.

You can still find and unlock the hero points, they aren’t gone from the game.

Was at 2/10 before, now I would give it a 7/10, finally my alt chars have some part of their elite specs unlocked like reaper and herald. Yay having fun running around with those.

You would still have to finish the maps eventually so you would still have to get those HPs regardless of the elites needing 400 or 250 HPs. Lol. I finished chronomancer and was almost done with tempest before this nerf but ehh since I’m going to do map completion anyway it doesn’t bother me.

2. Only 2 of my 9 chars can unlock some of their elite specs.

3. Maps look good but it’s extremely frustrating to get points on it if you don’t know how to get them, especially the HP. Freaking champions with a 5 min time limit? I usually duo with a friend and we always have to wait for people to come to the HP. If they’re not champs then they’re commune with 5 vets guarding hurrah!

4. Some aforementioned points need aforementioned grind to get to.

5. Random crashes in the middle of 30 minute long story instances are you serious, I had to repeat one of them 4 times and another thrice due to the dcs and its not even my internet.

6. Storyline characters are annoying, especially braham. That meat head with mommy issues must be kittened or something, i laughed so hard when his momma died lmao 10/10 best cutscene in story.

7. Nothing much to do outside maguuma, waited 5-10 mins for a cof p1 party and not a soul joined, fractals filled up fast but loot was so crappy i’d rather spend my time afking, sick of halloween labyrinth grind and i’ll be kitten ed if i have to map complete my 7 other characters.

8. Verdant brink is empty most of the time and its hard to solo events, so now i just camp at auric basin where its not much better either with people going “O M G N O B O D Y K N O W S W H A T T H E Y ’ R E D O I N G” / “Y O U A L L S U C K” x10 in map chat. Well duh its the 3rd day since release what do ya expect and why do people type like that?

8. I rage quit at least 10 times the past 3 days. I’m not very emotional and I very rarely rage at anything or anyone, annoyed at worst, so this is quite an achievement.

9. Precursor crafting was pretty fun.

10. The new music is good. Its the highlight of this expansion for me.

So, 2/10. Yup.

Also, I see a ton of people complaining in the new maps too, not just forum.

Its extremely irritating to get to one place only to realise the point I want is actually somewhere above or below and I have to find some detour to get there. Starting to regret getting the expansion now. Getting glider helped a bit but its still really annoying when something i want is above me and i cant find the way up.

The events give so little exp and are hard to reach too at the beginning, been running around the whole day and only managed to unlock level 1 glider and a bit of progression to shrooms.

Fractal weapon merchant is missing, and no map rewards even though i stayed throughout an event and completed it?

I just lost ~1g running 2 fractals, the stupid box at the end gives me 10s back even though i have to spend 20s to open it wtf?

I really don’t mind, I have 2 chars with world complete and i’m too sick of the maps to do them again on 7 of my other chars over and over and over and over.

I like the hidden mini forest with orange butterflies in The Grove.

Reminds me my first ever swamp run, I had no idea about the wisps etc so I followed some high AP mesmer to one of the wisps. Being dumb, I didn’t notice the time counter started so was waiting for some sort of “signal” from party. Mesmer asked whether I was going to take the wisp, so I grabbed it and ran with it. I think he asked like when half the time was gone cos within few seconds, the time was up. The mesmer stood there doing nothing all the time and didn’t bother using portal even in following attempts and kept flaming rest of party for being noobs.

Dang that guy needs to attend some anger management classes.

The other day at 30+ I had a guardian who kept trying to boss everybody else around and called us noobs while he was lying there dead throughout almost the entire fractal run. “You should do this, you should have done that blabla y nobody no res me u all suck.” At first I would res him but I realized I actually spent more time ressing him than doing dps so eventually I gave up and just let him stay dead while he kittened and moaned about us being bad and having no dps. I guess the other guys in my party couldn’t be bothered to keep ressing him either lmao. kitten I felt so tempted to tell him he could screw off if he didn’t like us so much but I didn’t want to get into an argument.

I would usually run with my guildmate so we’ll vent our frustrations to each other on guild chat instead of making a ruckus in party chat.

I was pugging fractal 19 just now with swamp rolled. The ele told me to portal the guy nearest to the cleft because he’s apparently the “furthest” away. So whatever I just followed his orders being the obedient mesmer I am. cough cough

A few tries later, the 3 of us made it to the clefts with 10s + left. As I came from the left side I put my wisp on the leftmost cleft and stood there to indicate its filled. Same went with the guy who came from the right side. That same ele arrived with his wisp and proceeded to camp at my cleft. Thinking he couldn’t see that the cleft was filled I targeted the middle one to indicate to him that that one is empty. He continued to stay there until time was up. After that he proceeded to lecture the other guy and me about not putting in our wisps. I could not hold my silence anymore and just told him it was him who didn’t put his wisp in and promptly left the party after that.

Don’t be dumb, why the hell would they waste time singling out specific people.
