nice with some of these changes to the dungeon system
i will most likely return to the game Im pve player i keep being told gw2 isnt a game for pve players well i hope these changes prove them wrong because i want to come back
lol my guess is your not lvl 80 yet or very easily pleased
the accounts these gold sellers use are hacked accounts , so my guess is arena net don’t want to perm ban some innocent poor sods account that got hacked.
They probably give it some time for the innocent party to email , phone in to report there account hacked
if its mostly pvp game then why is there like 90% pve
even spvp only has 1 mode and just a tiny amount of maps, but how many dungeons are there? and world events?
lvl 80 Norn warrior
4/10
not playing anymore
you dont get rewarded in this game, get used to it !
A lot of people have been complaining about the lack of endgame…. But ever since I’ve reached level 80 on my engineer, I never felt there were any problems to be honest. I truly feel like I am getting an “endgame” experience.
Some things I’ve been doing:
1. Farming Cursed Shore and exploring other Orr areas for loot
2. Farming Frostgorge trolls for blood
3. Dungeons (Although I’m holding off on most until they fix the rewards and difficulty…)
4. Killing World bosses (Albeit you need some guildie to tell you when they spawn)
5. Getting 100% on maps
6. “zerging” straits of Devastation
7. World Versus World. Yes, it’s endgame.
8. “Mini”-dungeons/jumping puzzles (most are overlooked even with 100% map completion)
Cursed Shore is an especially well designed area for casual endgame play! (Frostgorge is also a pretty sweet zone!)
Overall, I really feel like I am getting my money’s worth. I don’t see what it is people expect the endgame to be, since it seems fine to me.
For anyone else here fine with the “endgame”, what do you think?
looooooooooool
ok none of that convinced me there is endgame just sounded like a hell of alot of grind with no rewards
farm this farm that and world completion sorry but that is not everyones cup of tea and i dont think even half of the players in game care about it at all i know i dont.
world vs world is not endgame in any way shape or form
I don’t understand why people are so negative about this game. People it’s a MMO that you don’t pay monthly fees for, be happy with that. The economy is horrible all over the world right now and Anet is giving you a more than capable MMO with no fees.
I can’t see how anyone can think there is nothing to do at 80… unless they have 100% map completion and killed everything. And if you have all that already then it’s your own fault for rushing through the game so fast. I’ve paid over $1500 in fees for my years of service to Blizzard and I’m not about to do that again. So relax people the bugs will get fixed and content will be added but there will be more bugs and the need for more content. No game is perfect.
what makes you think peoples idea of having fun is doing world completion and killing everything?
sorry but that’s not my idea of “loads to do at 80”
Fun things to do for me at 80 would be Dungeons if they wasnt so ruined , pvp is also nice for some people as a end game option im bored of pvp however because it needs more game modes.
i’m happy to keep checking the forums until they add new content and change the dungeon system once they do that ill log back in, its no big deal
wtf are people talking about doesnt have to be a sub game to quit it.
i quit 4 days ago not logged on once since but i am checking forums now and again to see if they have changed anything and to also read all the whine threads which i find amusing when im bored. but i dont get bored enough to wanna play gw2 again, maybe if dungeons get overhaul and token system changed ill come back for a week maybe even two but dont see that happening this year
erm that boss is so easy
he lifts his sword behind him and the sword glows before he throws out that scorpian wire and all you have to do is dodge it , so easy
although i agree dungeons need tuning this post makes legitimate concerns over dungeons look like just a bunch of noobs that cant work out simple tactics
i havent logged on for 4 days , playing borderlands 2 and torchlight ii seems alot more fun at the min
if they keep punishing players they wont have any left, why should players be punished for arena net not testing their changes , if you make content so hard that its impossible and then give players a way to bypass that part ofcourse they will do it …
its arena nets fault not the players
AC was never hard nor was any of the explorable modes.. just saying
anyway its not the difficulty people are peeved about its the fact you get no rewards for your efforts, no guide can help that
@morrigan.2809
huh did you even read what i wrote?
how does making games “mmorpgs” with hardcore elements make it so you cant play them?
this game has no end game content for hardcores, if they added some does that mean you have to to do it?
if you are casual then you wont care that other players that spend more time that you on the game have more stuff , your not competing with them so what do you care?
oh i see you think because you cant have what they have its not fair so you want all games to be casual so you dont miss out… i see
Oh please!
you are the one complaining that this game is not hardcore enough and you are the one who suggested companies should only cater to hardcore players – I think you used the term “care bear games” – cute
I couldn’t care less what kind of gear you run around in or how many titles you have.
My point was that there are people who are sick of that kind of thing- RL is competitive enough for me.
The fact that you even say this game has no end game for hardcores means that you completely missed what this game was about- They very very clearly said that the whole game is the end game and that you won’t have all that stuff that you want suddenly, boom- when you hit 80.
I personally hate games that make me rush to lvl cap so I can play the game.
This is not that game
no i said companys should consider the hardcore players, i didnt say they should ONLY cater to them , dont be a moron
go away troll i wont reply to you anymore
can someone please answer this lol i would really like to know
this is a really good question i would love to get an answer on this

Didnt say they were more fun..and im not comparing the two games against eachother…just letting you know that for a “Hardcore Gamer” wow is not gonna suit you.
btw if you think that you should be rewarded for every kitten action you do in a game…i think you need to come back to reality.
yeah i do think you should be rewarded otherwise what is the point, that’s how i see it, and judging from the hundreds of threads already on this subject my guess is i’m not alone.
@OP if you think this is easy and your thinking about going back to wow….well your in for a surprise.
“O look..big boss…(Tank starts tanking)..i shall stand here and spam my awesomesauce multiple zeros dps ability for ten minutes and occasionally move 5 feet to avoid some aoe…O sweet purples…purples for everyone”
or
“O look big boss….(Tank starts tanking)…i shall stand here…ow wait.kitteni shouldnt ov stood in that fire area…my bad..everyone go repair and meet back in 5”
Just a little glimpse of the raiding scene. glhf
edited post because i dont want this becoming another wow vs gw2 thread
and comparing wow raiding with gw2 5 man dungeons is just fail especially if you say gw2 5 man dungeons is more fun

@budg
obtaining titles, gear, reputations that no other guild/player has got or being first to achieve is what makes you a hardcore gamer competing against each other for such thing etc
takin what content gives the best rewards and achieving them before anyone else, it just so happens in most other mmos raiding gave us those rewards .
in gw2 tell me what is hardcore
gangnam style ofcourse ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0
gangnam style ofcourse !
@kal4350
so agree lol but i did read that they are working on it , so hopefully a big change is comming
think of it this way would you think of top guilds/players in the game as casual?
no they are hardcore guilds with hardcore players that want to be the best in the games they play. In gw2 there is no need for this type of players/guilds because its so casual in every aspectMy comment may be the same old reply always posted but:
I don’t think of “top players/guilds” at all. They are inconsiquential to me. What have they achieved? They did well palying a game. Good for them. It does not affect me or anyone else in the world.
The whole concept of hardcore gamign I find amusing. Next thing you know I’ll be asked whether e-books have damaged “hardcore readers” by making speed-reading and page grinding more casual friendly…
ofcourse thats how you see hardcore gamers, your casual and thats fine
these guilds/players dont care what you think either they are more interested in what other hardcore guilds/players think and their standing with each other .
when guilds compete against each other to kill that boss before anyone else , you know the type that gets server first or even world first.
or acheive the highest rank in pvp first or to be the first to get that legendary wep/armor , i guess you could define hardcore as gamers that want to compete with eachother and casual as gamers that play just to amuze themselves.

When you have completed all 33 explorable paths, you can come back here and say you’re hardcore.
i have done almost all of them with my guild some we are stuck on
What do you mean with hardcore. Like EQ1 hardcore? Where you respawn naked and have to fight your way back to your corpse to get gear back? Where dying in some places without any respawn or way to get back in? Where disarm makes you drop your weapon on the ground for any player to pick up? Where mob spawns required for progression are so rare you need to camp the same spot for hours/days?
Won’t deny it was a lot of fun back in the day. But tbh if they released that 2012 I think I would have to pass.
think of it this way would you think of top guilds/players in the game as casual?
no they are hardcore guilds with hardcore players that want to be the best in the games they play. In gw2 there is no need for this type of players/guilds because its so casual in every aspect
i havent played wow in 2 years but i am truly considering it , I just don’t like the community in wow, gw2 has one of the best community’s I’ve come across in an mmo for a very long time.
Unfortunately there isn’t any good mmos due to release for a very long time..elder scrolls online, final fantasy xiv 2.0 etc.
at the moment its like gw2 is a side game but there is no main game
i stopped reading when you said you are yet to hit 80
hit 80 then come back otherwise you don’t know what your talking about
Seems to me that games these days care too much about the casual player.
Gw2 is ultra casual, no real progression or enticing reward system very easy skill system where you gain every wep skill by lvl 10.
I don’t know whether i want gw2 to do well at all because i don’t want other company’s to keep rolling out these care bear games
I wish companys would just consider the hardcore players you know the type of players that go to game conventions , make youtube videos, spend hours playing these games and try to be the best they can be in any game they play.
There is more of us than you might think ^
so my question to the community is this. Are you sick of games being to casual ? or maybe you prefer games designed for more casual play?
/discuss
Edit: my definition of hardcore vs casual
I guess you could define hardcore as gamers that want to compete with eachother and casual as gamers that play just to amuze themselves.

dungeons suck, dont do them simples
they will change them when they realise less people are loggin on and no one is doing dungeons
lol @ op
stop trying to convince yourself and others that you really believe what you say
your either not lvl 80 yet and dont know what your talking about or just very easily pleased.
anyway the numbers speak for themselves , hardly no one is doing dungeons in game…go figure
i agree with you @ op
i have not logged in for a few days now already looking for a new game and i was one of those saying how awesome gw2 was, even though i still think its a great game im not into the whole grind thing so im not going to waste anymore time
@Gloigan
yup pretty much, i like the dungeons but i dont want to do them if i get nothing out of them.
you forget you have to repair , make consumables (food) , wipe many times and spend a long time in the dungeons, spec right which costs money, have the right stats on gear so you may need to farm the appropriate gear not forgetting just teleportign to the waypoint isnt exactly cheap all these thinsg add up , and then you go dungeon and what do you get?
NOTHING
i guess you make some silver from doing COF runs but if you want to do the dungeons that take 1+ hours then your losing money and to top it off you get nothing for our troubles
i cant be alone on this because well the tons of threads in thsi forum and the complete lack of interest in game for dungeons, if there is nothing wrong then people sure have a f unny way of showing it
also im fully aware of how the system works in regards to “epics” i am full exotic geared and have done my COF runs like most people….boring.. i know the items are only cosmetic. i was fully exotic the first day i dinged 80 i crafted everything liek most people.

np i shut the door nice a gentle just for you
i said i coem back in few months but yeah i guess its some server space for soemone? i dunno
thanks im sorry too, i dont like cats
I’ve decided I’m going to take a break from the game quite honestly i find it all very “meh”
I’m a little disappointed in the Dungeons side of things with the lack of reward unless you grind tokens , which isn’t “fun” for me i like the difficulty of them but i just don’t like that when i kill a really hard boss that i don’t get rewarded for it.
Some dungeons are basicly like doing raids, wipe lots of times and then finally get the boss down and your like " yes !!!!" then to be disappointed because there was no loot for anyone.
WVW is just wintersgrasp on steroids, fun but boring after a while the running back from way point gets really tedious after a few runs. and the fact you cant queue and join with your guild is lame. I was in the queue for 2 hours today … some people queue for much longer.
i guess everything just seems like too much effort for such little gain
Playing for fun is all well and good but it gets boring prettykittenquick..
this is just my opinion on the game and everyone is entitled to disagree if you like how gw2 at the moment then gratz i wish i felt the same way its a long wait till thenext “BIG MMO”
i dont mind the dificulty its the fact you dont get rewarded until you have run the same dungeon 30+ times is what stops me from playing them and well ive stopped playing the game now too
i do 20k crit with hundred blades on average around 15-18k , i was just in wvw and killed 4 noobs that just stood still and let me do a full hundred blades on them , and i even 1 shot people in wvw with kill shot with around 10-13k crit
and thats just 1 hit haha
yeah i think i need a break from it for a while , ive played it every day since release maybe its just a burned out thing.
Besides many good games coming out over the next couple of months
I wish there was more things to do with a guild in pve ..
we cant even do wvw as a guild because of the queue system, why couldn’t it have been GvGvG i mean this is “guild wars” right?
i find the lack of things to do as a guild worrying , ok there’s dungeons but like most find them not worth doing. you disagree? that’s fine but that’s how i see them.
i only run these with guildies and have cleared most of them, even did cof over 50 times got my greatsword and gloves from token vedor before i realized i wasn’t enjoying the game, ive done probably close to 100 explorable runs and not once and i mean this literal NOT A SINGLE TIME has anything decent dropped from within the dungeon.
dungeons are more farmy than Aion now that is saying something.
Anywho for a game called GUILD wars there really isnt much guild activities to do.
AC is kitten easy compared to the hard dungeons story and explorer mode are
faceroll
how about make the really hard explorable modes a 10 man raid then they will be acceptable
lol as if people are going to “pug” these dungeons its a big enough wipefest inan organized group..
the dungeons are a complete waste of time and effort people have realized this and dont want to do them.. sad but true
same here madmax
bottom of the bottom tier of players? haha who does this guy think he is haha
like it like it
apathy name/lvl is your toon? i must see this top tier bad as god of a player in action!
well Efaicia unless your party respecs for every pull that is just not possible.
if you bothered to read my post you would have read that i am able to do most the content , but the reward is not there and and it is not a fun way of doing things
please read a post before you troll it
ps. i doubt you are even lvl 80 and have tried any of the “hard dungeons”

(edited by Rush.8239)
Guild Wars (2) isn’t a loot game.
You do it for the experience, both literal and otherwise, and because it is fun.
haha @ fun
can tell your not lvl 80 and doen any actual hard dungeons
if you have 5 trash you all have to focus 1 down before you all die runback and repeat until your left with 1 …
yeah man fun timez
I’m full exotic geared and have done every explorable mode almost every path , I know how to play , I just don’t find it fun..
i consider myself and my dungeon group very good players and we don’t give up easily but even we are starting to talk about how un-rewarding all our effort is…
by the time we clear arah explorer or COF explorer (hard paths) we have lost so much coin from repairs that the silver at the end of teh dungeon doesn’t even cover it
i think the people commenting haven’t done any hard dungeons.
coming from someone who has done every single explorer mode and almost every path..
I have full exotic gear and the greatsword from COF farm
my grp i use for every dungeon is also full exotic + wep we have wiped hundreds of times doign these dungeons ..
we never get any decent loot from the dungeons only from tokens being a warrior myself and i fully understand what op is saying i too have to go range 80% of the time if you go down in mele range good luck tryign to get revived.
You just cant dodge evade reflect everything or whatever especially on trash when there is 5-6 mobs and they are all focusing on you.
i find teh trash harder then the bosses, since the majority of our wipes are from trash.
This all takes the fun out of it for me and i decided today i just cba anymore, less then a month into the game ….
