Uhm..Did you even read the article? Overclocks did perform worse when using Integrated Graphics. Not exactly sure why but here’s a chart on the Conclusion page of the Anandtech review

Did you read what I posted? In this game the Single Thread Performace of his CPU will bottleneck his GPU. For reasons I outlined above.

So we are at it again. Your own results shows a 0.5% vs 0.4% 4.4 to 4.6 Ghz proving the lower clocks out performed it. I did say game performance. When Firestrike tests physics a Higher clock will make some difference.

The " discrete you point out I saw but the bench clearly shows XXXGAMEXXX on 980 GTX strix. There is Zero chance in the world that integrated graphics scores 70+ Frames in GTa V .

If that is the case Intel would put AMD and Nvidia out of Business

Anet in future should just allow all PAID FOR Clients to download on patch release and 6 hours later non Paid licenses can go . paid for clients should be punished because Anet decided to make the game Free to play.

Well ti could be several reasons. What is your pc specs and your internet connection speed.

Your main reason is normally bandwidth Followed by heat issues. if still not we need to help to find the problem.

I have a dodgy conn but a reliable pc and when i do world bosses and big events i always turn down the amount of people i render and the quality of the character models. This keeps me from a DC at Teq .

Also completely false, and I’ve love to know the twisted logic behind this statement. If you’re in a CPU-bound situation, OCing your CPU will get you some nice gains in performance.

I wont post anything on here that I dont know bout. gaming performance for soem odd reason is not improving with an OC on the 4 and 6 series I7s.

I think the engine isn’t using all your processing speed. What is VERY odd for me in GW is that " a very cpu defendant game " is only making use of about 60% of my CPU but 99% of my GPU. And my FPS are not much more than yours and i have a

6600K and 980GTX.

So think the whole engine needed some optimizing.

Hi kind sir. What i did. was use warrior and trait yourself for max damage and make sure to tick the endure pain option in traits. As well as the extra endure pain on your skill bar. The other 2 i made sure i have shouts that heal me with rampage as my ultimate.

I then popped rampage as soon as i went in giving you 40 000+ HP. I let it bleed down and as soon as it got to low health i popped 2 shouts to get me up and waited for the first endure pain to kick in and timed to get the 2nd one on teh skill bar perfectly. and I made it .

maybe try the same.

ID say save them for now. IF you need gold go the T6 mat option but looking forward to HOTS you might be able to get some extra goodies from laurels.

Not the champ bags. that would be a very very silly move. its the bag of gears the GREEN bags. Those you open on a low leveler character and salvage those items. The Light armour salvage for linen and cotton scraps. Those are worth more than the other equivalents.

By default they do not allow randoms to join WVW Teamspeak channels . So you do not have any access rights.

So if its your friends server get them to give you access. Or if it is a WVW server they often ask you to type something in map chat then a commander will give you permission.

IF its none of the above message a administrator in ts ( right click on his name and send message ) and ask for rights to join channels.

Id up the PSU to a 850W to allow for SLI i na year or 2 .. But this rig can run everything.

Gw2 runs on a very old engine that is more affected by your CPU than your GPU. I have an I7 3820 and after my GPU popped i fell back to a ancient AMD HD 4000 series card and my Gw still runs at around 50 fps .

After you beat us in the rugby on Saturday im not super keen on helping you at all haha.

But is that Aus or Us dollar budget?

There are a couple of local sites that can help you out . How good they are I dont know. But with that budget and asking for a gaming laptop you are going to struggle a bit.

Is there no way for you to keep your current laptop for laptoppy stuff and buy a entry level Desktop? you would get some more performance from it ?

Good thing about a desktop is you can add things to it as you save up some cash.

But you will not get much for $600 the best i can think of is a AMD setup that has a descent onboard GPU . The problem is that a cpu / motherboard / ram combo is already $400-$500 that excludes the monitor/mouse and keyboard you need ontop of that. So its really tough to build it up. IF you can maybe ask around from some mates if they have any old Monitors/KB and Mouse you can easily then start planning this.

But as for a laptop at that price point – You would sit in the same boat as you are now.

I think ascendancy waypoint ( centre of ratasum ) is the best .. you are 5 steps away from the bank .

Also the chests in Sw drop the Obsidian shards so you might be able to save up some Karma.

When doing chest trains in Silverwaste I fill my 1500 vault very quickly. Even more so Dragonite. I can’t imagine a faster source.

Edit: Example of very quickly, yesterday I did 7 or so rounds. Afterwards I made 32 stars and 35 ingots. They stack up pretty quickly.

Do SW chest farm amte.. I racked up 2 stacks in a week with no real grinding. I did event and labyrinth got enough badges for 80 odd keys and opened those chests in a farm run.

This is much faster than the dungeons to acquire them .

Ok so had a quick look at building up a descent desktop for your budget. I then built up one that came in at just under 1500 GBP . This machine will run taht laptop into the ground. It would beat it like a ginger stepson .

Here is the link to that spec. I even included a 144Hz gaming monitor into the build with a gaming mouse and cooler for the I7. This is a monster of a rig .

I always get my 77 clovers before i look at what mats I need. As you always get loads of t6 mats. Farming the Sw even will net you a lot of mats and rares to salvage for ectos. But dont dismiss teh orr champ farm. The trash mobs often drop t6 mats . So maybe use some guild commendations get some hero banners and buy the MF boost with laurels . Some MF food and celebration booster and get cracking, Especially the grenth event. That is crazy farming.

Ps: farm a train/a map/ for only an hour and switch to another to make sure you are not punished by DR

Yeah you would need a higher output on your V12 rail. But For now that machine will not stand back for anything. Good pc mate and Grats!

But seriously i with that rig i wont add another GPU in at least 18 months. I would how ever suggest you save for a 120/144hz monitor. They are pretty expensive but oh boy would you be happy once you have one.

YOu did not clarify in your OP as to WHY you need a laptop? Yes its good for moving around and you can get powerful laptops but realistically you are looking at a 40% difference in price between a desktop and a laptop for the same performance. I have suggested many builds here over time and it always come down to the same thing.

A desktop is 99% of the time the better option even if you think it inconveniences you.

Looking at Gw you need a very high power core of a cpu as it does not utilize it all the cores as well a it should. laptops fail at this pretty badly Even the I7 one will not give you as much FPS as you require from it and with the GPu running you will get loads of heat that ultimately leads to more problems if you do not have a proper cooler in place. I have 2 mates with alienware laptops and both of them have to use proper laptop coolers to keep their machine at a reasonable temperature level. At this reasonable temperature they can rewarm coffee of even warm up cold meals with the escaping air at the back.

I will look at a few options and link them for laptop as that is what you asked but please send me a PM if you want me to suggest desktop parts as well.

This unit is pretty powerful and you should see 40-60 fps in high populated areas on relatively high graphics.

As soon as i was not able to communicate with my guild i sort of fell out of favor with the testing of the revenant. I ma huge hammer fan so within about 5 minutes playing with it i was in love with it but could not share any of this within any one unless I invited a friend to my party.

So the RNG on Revanants were quite Crazy and heard loads of people drop precursors and other valuable items. So lets see who dropped what and lets all mourn together .

I dropped THE BARD from the mystic forge dropping all those exotics into the forge.

So here is my predicament, I have been looking to get a legendary for quite some time now and after returning from a long absence i am trying again. I have made my mind up on juggernaut purely because I love the effect it has on your armour. But I can not justify having a crystal ball in my hammer. I know the legendaries are made to be over the top but its simply not something I like.

On the other side i love the skin entropy , Is there no way to skin a legendary to another look whilst retaining the effects?

I have the good old phalanx build. I run this build in any part of PVE and i have not run into trouble.

I have full sets of crafted beserker gear and use the hoelbrak ruin . it gives might and stability.

This means im always alive to drop my battlestandard and get the glas cannons up. The people that says " GO full dps " has not realized you cant kill much by sitting down throwing rocks at it .

The new range AMD card have performed very well in benchmark Tests. They really have made a ripple in the force and still think that the extra few $ for a few frames on nvidia isn’t worth it. I have had nvidia and amd cards and have always bought the best bang for buck cards. And Im sure the 970 is worth more than the 390 4GB infact should be closer to the 390X . But As I said above. 8GB is enough of ram and go I5 to make funds for a beefier Graphics card.

WOW nearly forgot .. If you can get the Samsung 850 Evo SSD range . If its out of your budget go for the Crucial SSD . Its better performing and cheaper than the corsair one.

My gf does not play any game but Gw2 and getting her into it was quite a challenge. Her mini collection was one of the big driving points and loot . Nothing said " I love this game " like genesis to some ones face in wvw " Also be prepared to fork out some Gems for an outfit on the gemstore as mine didn’t like any of the starter ones.

I also got right into the beautiful places in the game and just got wowed by it. The hidden bamboo room in the grove is easy to find. The pirate jumping puzzle in LA. Hoelbrak is pretty as ****

And take her to the new water park in Gw2 called Lions Arch. You should be able to get a lot done there. Also take her to jump off the lighthouse and watch her face. .. you’d thank me later.

Classes I have seen played most by girls is the Elementalist . If you can avoid her choosing it really do. The problem is their attacks are hard to control at first and you keep hitting random animals that keep attacking you and will make it hard for you and her to fight at low level .

Female guardians look pretty cool but my Gf has one Asura Ele ( i wasn’t warned ) but now prefers her norn warrior.

dual axes is the easiest weapons to start of with and add bow so she can fight at range .

Can share a lot of stories with you and if you are on the EU server our guild has several couples that play together and could easily help you out if you are without a guild still.

Go I5 K series and bump that GPU to atleast a 390 amd and with the K series you an overclock the cores to give gw2 the boost it needs. I have an I7 and every game i play uses less than 50% of my cpu total

im in agreement with you on all but one ? I think shatterer has his crits spot slightly to the left of his head . basically in line with the toe on his roight foot that points towards his head. I have done this event a few times now and I am one of those that screams for the crit spot and do get me crits every time. I have not tried the other side of his head though but 100% got crits on the left side of his head.

I feel your pain. Im from South africa where i think we have worse internet than you. But for an mmo to work they would need Thousands and thousands of users that I jsut dont think you would bea ble to sustain. IF SA has 2500 players in GW2 i would be very impressed.

I think it should be optional. Eso is getting HUGe amount of flack on their subs but you can play with a sub and without a sub and access teh same content. The subs are rewarded with ingame store currency and have minal bonusses . The equivalent would be to a permananet heroes banner. And think this would not be a bad idea. I would sub if its my choice but would stop playing if it is a forced sub.

maybe have a bash at creating maudrey? IF you did the living story you can build maudrey. And im confident i saw a vendor selling the recipe for the spinal blade back piece I cant recall the currency for it though.

With that rig and the non K series Cpu i would go ASUS H81-GAMER, LGA1150, Intel H81 Chipset, ATX and save a few bucks. then id add that cash to the GPU and push for a AMD R9 380 ( 4GB model ) The cash you save on the board will allow this and you get better performance for your money. You dont need to overclock. Go look at the old Bf 3 and Bf 4 benchmarks the FPs between an I3 and a top of the range I7 was less than 5 frames . Make sure your ram is 1600mhz ram .

Best gear i have slapped on my ele was traveler ruins and celestial gear. used it in PVe and WVW without too much of an issue.

THe odds of you looking at an art book noticing something and reading it is for a game you live and it could be content no one outside of the devs has seen yet is so slim that even if you are wrong on locations it is still one hell of a find mate. and thanks for sharing

It looks like more people returned since last patch than i anticipated, so SW is being farmed hard, which affects quite some markets.
I took advantage of cheap t5 mats and starting crafting rare weapons again to forge pres and got a good turnaround.

With a crafting cost about 42s per rare, i got 6 sparks and 1 legend over the weekend.
The legend was quite costly, taking me around 1400 rare staves but i got lucky on the sparks, needing only 2500 rare daggers to get 6 pres.
At one point, I even threw 1 spark back into forge by accident but got another one from that forge attempt, so i only lost 3 exotics on that.

I lost a good portion of my profits to that kitten skritt though, gambling ectos.

Let me add that the change has been refreshing for me. My Gf is leveling a new toon on a new account. usually i had to trait everything in defense and vitality to not one shot kill everything so she can get xp. After the patch it is more interactive as i cant just stand and get mobbed to gain lots of xp as that can kill me now. So im for this tbh. Im not sure why entire threads must be made why your low level character isn’t doing enough dmg in a lvl 10 zone

I can only recall ONCE dropping a charged lodestone. This was during a fight in the crown pavilion the first time it came around. In my bank I have 2 at the moment. and i suspect it was charged core MF upgrades. I have over 100 charged cores. The drop rate of this lode stone is just very low and that’s why it costs as much as it does.

If any one comes and tells me its not low its RNG id like to put it out there that i have dropped more precursors than i have dropped charged lodestones.

Well if the videos in the cut scenes of living story 2 was anything to go buy i think there will be a bump in it. The new rendering of facial animations is new and a slightly modified engine would have been required to do that.

But on the other end of the spectrum the beta ran on the same files you have for the current gw2 base game. So that means the change isn’t going to be THAT much.

Why was it removed. As stated before id like to support the local retailer and upgrade in game ? why was this removed?

well the path where you need to protect the npc in AC and kill the burrows with ice bow The icebow now leaves the burrows on 10-15% hp and then having to kill it see you amass 20+ bleedstacks pretty quickly. Ive done some dungeons and I was able to recover but most of my pug group wasn’t and we were stuck here for quite some time ( all had 8k+ Ap so they weren’t exactly new either)

So it is very easy for a casual player to get overwhelmed with the bleed stacks. But i have not had much problems in any of the other dungeons ive run ( I do not run many dungeons have done TA , AC and HOW since patch )

I like the more challenging content as the old sit and watch a movie while you spam approach was getting a bit stale. So like any new difficult content people will get over it . TEQ was unbeatable – till people did it. Wurm was unbeatable – till be did it.

The only way you can improve is by playing difficult content. the saying " to be the best you ahve to compete with the best " this is similar but a NPC should never ever be the best ( unless its Xan from UT )

So now people stand and spam skills in one spot not thinking sort of like LEMMINGS . And now they get upset when a boss does something new. I have been hoping that at one point Anet changes some stuff like the stack spot at shatter that every now and then kitten slams his foot down or smacks his tail onto that embankment rekking every one on it, it will force people to move around.

I was very fortunate to get to my bank and see i have 2 intricate gossamer insignias for zealot stats . They are for some very unknown reason 40 gold. I sold them and we have ordered about 18 minis now. Now we play the waiting game .

I would like to then purchase from them and upgrade to deluxe if the pricing isnt way out and still comes down to $79.99 .
