Afaik it didn’t change the precursor chance
The Collections are great and I wish there were more of them. For example I miss those:
- (Fractals) Ascended Ring Collection
- Legendary Weapon Collection
- Tonic Collection
- All other Non-BL skin sets like Pirate, Whisperer’s, etc. …
They have changed the system to have a higher skin variety as rewards.

Just check the documentation: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/API:2/commerce/exchange
Played a bit around. Here is how the API works:
All Item IDs:
http://api.guildwars2.com/v2/commerce/listings
A single Item:
http://api.guildwars2.com/v2/commerce/listings/70
Multiple Items:
http://api.guildwars2.com/v2/commerce/listings?ids=70,71,72
That would be amazing.
Additionally once in a while open the portal for everybody.
I don’t have the Pet Seed, I have the Pet Seed-ling
I guess I upgraded the Pet Seed. And now I can’t exchange it.
Is the Mawdrey Ascended Backpiece still bugged for me?
I have:
- Mysterious Vine
* Chaos Infused Clay Pot
* Pet Seedling (?)
* Germinated Foxfire Cluster
* Package of Elementally Charged Plant Food

I don’t have the exotic Pet Seed, I have the ascended Pet Seed-ling
I guess I upgraded the Pet Seed. And now I can’t exchange it.

ArenaNet offers already different payment options for our convenience. We have the choice between paypal, paysafecards and credit cards. Bitcoin would just be another convenient payment option for those who choose it.
It doesn’t matter if you personally don’t like bitcoin. Offering bitcoin as an option is trivial with a payment processor like bitpay. Also I think ArenaNet doesn’t run the gemstore payment processing themselves anyway – but that’s another story.
Fact is using something like coinbase or bitpay offers no risk for ArenaNet and they can get directly their dollars and never have to touch bitcoin themselves.
Bitpay is happy to make that happen :P https://twitter.com/BitPay/status/493194497132474368
The volatility of Bitcoin doesn’t matter for companies wanting to use it a s a payment option. When you use a payment processor like bitpay you don’t have to set your bitcoin price. Here is how it works:
- ANet sets the gem price to 10$
- If you select bitcoin as a payment option bitpay will automatically calculate the current bitcoin price for 10$
- You have a certain amount of time to buy gems at that bitcoin price, before this price is invalidated
- ANet can decide if they either want to get the bitcoins itself or just receive the 10$
There is absolutely no risk for the product/service provider. Bitpay does everything for you.
If you say that that is awful to rely on another company like bitpay, I would like to remind you that ANet allows to pay with paysafe cards and paypal, which are also only companies processing the Payments of virtual money.
On average you can sell one item every 7 seconds. I believe it’s over one minute.
So you can sell 8 items very quickly, but for the following items you need to wait for the next minute.
opening/closing doesn’t fix it. This process just takes some time, and you may have waited enough by doing that.
You can sell an apple at $0.75/each. Sky will buy 2. You made $1.5
You can sell an apple for 10.00$/each. A richer guy who doesn’t care will buy 1. You made $10.00
So… 5-10 stacks = 6g… so if you do the math you could flip 250-500 stacks for 300g…
Flipping on the TP is still a lot of work. And it can take hours filling buy orders, removing orders, listing items… it’s the mass that makes the money…
The profit comes with improving your efficiency, choosing the right items and amounts, …
Is it more fun than running dungeons and other stuff for 8h a day? Depends on what you enjoy.
Not worth it… gw2spidy and sort for profit margin does the same.
It feels more legendary when you built it your own. Get map completion and craft it. You will be more proud of it.
I second. It’s super annoying. Devalues the permanent pass a lot.
You claim something we don’t know anything about. Have you ever seen the gem pool running out? We don’t know how its implemented. Maybe it’s just an exponential function and the pool will never be empty, just more expensive.
Gold is basically infinite (it’s constantly created on killing mobs, completing dungeons, etc.) and Gems are basically infinite (you can always buy Gem cards) with fiat money.
I find it quite amusing how people complain about the blog posts where they tell you that you can exchange gems for gold, and at the same time people complain about the high gold→gem rate.
Why do you think that there is a finite amount of gems?
Can confirm. Have the same problem. I assume it was an oversight and they will change it sooner or later
It doesn’t matter what you as an individual feel is a fair price. If people want to pay that much, it’s worth that much.
well the API is used ingame. And it affects the TP. When you search for items etc. you see wrong prices.
coincidence…. I had one buy order for 1.5-1.7k open all day yesterday. But only when I placed an order for 2k I got it over night.
The item is extremely rare. You have seen those people who have opened 1000-2000 bags and didn’t get one. Nobody can predict what the price for that would be… It could be 5k or 1k gold… But it’s a fact that it’s extremely rare.
Are people flipping it? – Yeah I am sure.
Is this the cause of the high price? – I’m pretty sure it’s not. If it would be, why aren’t all items at 2k gold?
Hey,
recently the TP started to cache prices much longer. Take the Chaos of Lyssa receipe as an extreme example. It always shows up with a wrong price. I start to realise that this problem applies to many other items too. It’s really irritating that sorting for price and tools like gw2tp.com or gw2spidy.com don’t work reliably anymore.
Check your “I’m Buying” listings… When you are buying something you actually just place a buy order for the same price, and the TP realises that there is a sell offer and matches that. If there is no sell offer for that price, you just placed a buy offer, waiting to be fulfilled.
There seems to be a problem with the caching of prices for (all or certain) items. Like the Chaos of Lyssa Recipe
It’s especially annoying ingame when you search for items or want to check some prices. And you have to do additional clicks to get to the real current price.
While working on this: gw2trading.net/report/precursor
I got had a streak of:
- Zap
- sth else
- Zap

hope that helps

Why you aren’t doing anything bad and actually help the economy:
1. Flipping is a huge gold sink
2. If people are slling or buying the item to this price it’s noones fault. It’s their decision. If you wouldn’t buy it, who would?
3. You puh prices into equilibrium
4. You make the margin smaller
5. You provide a service for people who want to buy or sell an item immediately. You are the one who takes the “risk” of buy orders and sell listings.
6. The TP doesn’t create money out of thin air. it’s just exchanging gold (minus taxes). You are not introducing more money in the economy – which would be bad.
Inflation goes up with more gold drops. And we should see deflation with less gold drops. If the price is still rising for an item it’s definitely not inflation.
Another note: you can’t argue with disparity of incomes in gw2 and compare it to the real world. Because of two very important differences. Players play a varied amount of hours a week, compared to almost fixed 40h week in RL. And I think more impact on the disparity of incomes in reallife have depts (and interest rates), which doesn’t exist in gw2.

I think it’s funny that people are complaining about inflation and at the same time complain about less gold drops.
Let’s go through some facts.
1. How much Giant Eyes have you dropped while playing the game? I have 2k play hours and I can’t remember dropping a single on. So it’s super super rare.
2. For crafting Immobulus you need a full stack http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Immobulus
Those to things already make it clear why the price is so high.
Also the wardrobe is coming up and people maybe really want to finish crafting the skin.
I don’t see any form of manipulation here.
Edit:
Oh you meant the one buy order only 30s higher than the others? lol
it’s just somebody who really wants the eyes. Orders for a higher price to hopefully get not undercut, but it’s still cheaper than buying it directly.
@Romek.4201 I tried to do some research on inflation: http://gw2trading.net/report/inflation
I think it’s not that bad.
Don’t get it why people are complaining. It’s the ultimate luxury show off item. It has cooler effects than the plain GS Legendaries. Those footsteps are massive and the glowing gem stands out of the crowd. I like it better than my old sunrise.
Eternity still has the more “Legendary” feeling to it, because not so many people have it. So it fulfils everything as a luxury item for me.
But not gonna lie, but this revamp idea looks awesome and I would love it. But I don’t complain about th current version either: https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/102736/Eternity_Idea.jpg
@ HallusH.3987 Jingy.5643:
In the very early days after release we farmed in Orr waves of mobs all day. After like 15-30min you almost got no drops anymore. It is/was an anti bot protection. It annoyed us a lot at that time. Since this time I have never had the feeling that it affected me again. I think they fine tuned it very well that you rarely hit the threshold.
@Natsu Dragneel.1625 very good observation. I didn’t think too much. I just took the cheapest Rune
Interesting challenge and awesome sword
I wouldn’t have made it a requirement to place the sell order now. Because you already can see how high you would have to set it to even have a chance to win. It would have been better to let everybody decide when to sell.
Here is my Entry: “Superior Rune of the Undead” – I am hoping for some awesome stat changes with the feature pack.

I am fine with doing a request every ~5 seconds… By using search.json and a list if item ids every 10 second you should have no problems. Do you get “flooding error” or the 502 Proxy error?
Is it possible to configure a HTTP/HTTPS Proxy for the GW2 Client?
In my environment I have to configure an HTTP/HTTPS Proxy to use the web. Using the OSX System Settings for Browsers work fine, but the Trading Post doesn’t use those settings. Is there a way to maybe add a proxy via command line or a config file?
kind regards,
Samu
@RoyalPredator.9163: Explain why it is harmful to the whole economy please
On Windows you get asked if you want to send a report. This report may contain personal information which I don’t want to share with ANet. It’s not like I am not trusting them. It’s just a matter of privacy and I would like to be in control about what I share and what not.
I don’t like that an automatic debug log is sent to ANet without me knowing its content.
