Future Elite Mesmer Idea~ :D

in Mesmer

Sarasv.8962

So not to hamper on anyone’s ideas or for future content but Choux Pls and I were in map chat today in say discussing about future elite specc’s for our favorites. And upon discussion on the Ele WH we comtemplated future ideas – specifically the Mesmer.

One such was the name for:

Mesmer Longbow: Trickster, Sentinel, Arbalest,
and Paradox.

Mesmer Hammer: Cabalist.

We became, as time went on more interested in the idea of a mesmer with a longbow and how that would work. And we came up with the idea that it would create wards/traps that specifically caused torments, binds, blinds, stuns etc and reversals.

Some skill names and effects we had in mind of actually just raw ideas would be that the bow would create arrow prisons like subject alpha’s crystals or create volleys of spikes that would inflict damage, warp effects, put players/enemies in locks and bend space/ether with the pierce of an arrow.

Skill ideas Choux Pls and I had!

Butterfly Effect: Shoots an arrow that passes through enemies; summon an illusion that copies their boons, and gives them your conditions.

Faint of Heart: Shoots a passing volley of arrows that pass through your target, causes weakness; summons a clone for each arrow that passes behind an enemy. 3-5 targets.

Feign The Disillusioned: Shoots an arrow that evades three steps; leaves a triggered trap in its wake.

Elite Pandora’s Box: Channel a spell with longbow as the medium; summon an AoE that places triggered crystal spike traps in its radius; inflicts crystal prism binds/pulses, inflicts chill/binds/blinds/weakness?

Archer’s Paradox: Shoot a volley of arrows; (not linear, shoots in a cone effect or follow’s an enemy till hit). The idea came from archer’s shooting arrows that actually curve, somewhat like a baseball player throwing a screwball.

Prisoner of Torment: Shoot a barrage of arrows that inflict stuns or binds.

Archer Arcanum: Summon a bow of ether.

Shattered Fragments : Shatter illusions; summon vortexes of weakness that cause blind.

Loophole: Fires an arrow in front of the player, that summons a vortex behind an enemy and shoots from behind.

The idea we had was: “To strongly use the thought of traps, summoning vortexes, bending ether by using the crystal dust in the air to inflict damage.”

- vortexes (a utility simular to wells or portals)
- loopholes (another utility idea)
- traps (spikes)
- arrow prisons & wards

I had fun with this and me and Choux rambled for an hour. We can’t wait to see what elite specs bring in the future! (PS – I will try not to draw art for this)

I have all my legendaries, completed it when the amber chest farm was still around. I’ve been saying this thing was bugged before seeds of truth – now people are complaining about it before others had told them it wasn’t. The fact that he rarely spawns at all as well as the time off of the executioner is way beyond the usual RNG; for the sake of other players still in need of the AP/titles…it needs to be fixed. It’s almost been a month now :/

Living World S2E7: Seeds of Truth [SPOILERS]

in Lore

Posted by: Sarasv.8962

Sarasv.8962

That is because Vorpp and his crew were inquest. It states it in the story instance that they were inquest. Meaning that the inquest were already a divided subgroup then at the time – for how long though has been uncertain. Maybe after they came up from the underground. After all the Inquest is a large krewe working towards their own goals.

Eternal Sands & Gemstones

Sarasv.8962

Ever since this item was first made up I thought it was strange:

I got my essence of time of the TP because after a few 50 chests+ I didn’t get it from them. Now at the time there were only five for sale. Now, these five for sale were listed for:

10g 99s
17g 99s (which I bought)
100g
200g
400g
700g

Now this was RIGHT after the Seeds of Truth went live. After that fact, within a few hours on reddit the recipe for the focus was “found”. With the exact component needed to craft it, that being an amalgamated gemstone.

Now how does one find a recipe for something in the forge? Amalgamated gemstones didn’t exist (possibly?) before the patch. It is in the game’s data files yes but is it in the actual system to be used as an object?

Putting things in the forge it will highlight if the recipe is correct. Sand is a no brainer, its an hourglass and the only place to get sand is from Dry Top.

Now right after that recipe was listed, only about four amalgamated gemstones showed up on the TP, they were 30g a pop and within a few hours there were about 20 of them. How could someone possibly know a recipe that created something that was not in the game before the patch. OR. It already existed and they were keeping it secret. Regardless these things simply don’t just “appear”.

Afterwards for two days people were asking all over forums and reddit: where do we get the gems, its an exotic, obviously it must come from chests? No one knew how to get them.

Now, the gems have dropped from 30g to 1g a piece and someone or multiple people have bought up all the essences of time. Now the essences are the rare components. Is this market manipulation or people just chucking whatever combos in the forge and hoping they unlock SOMETHING. Because this has happened with the sea satchel and the creation for Mawdrey. I just think it was very odd or purposeful and people banked in on circular knowledge. Anyways. I’m glade I got my essence early and I can forge my focus with a happy smile that I made it out lucky —-

I hope anyone else pursuing this has luck in their RNG for this item!

[Speculation] It's all part of Glint's plan?

Adding to this post:

I also believe magic is immaterial. Meaning it does not simply disappear, there is no such thing as missing power. Magic must go somewhere, or it flows out.

I think that’s what Zhaitan is trying to do with Tequatl. He’s buffing him up perhaps so another one is reborn? And if we kill Kralkatorrik, what happens then? The Shatterer buffs up? Abaddon also took his power from a previously disposed god. Grenth from Dhuum, even him being a halfgod was almost no match for him needing the PC’s help in the underworld, Kormir taking on Abaddon’s power herself (because they didn’t want to kill of the GW1 PC; because then your PC would become a god? Breaking the story? idek).

But these are all theories.

We’ll see.

[Speculation] It's all part of Glint's plan?

in Living World

WARNING Spoilers:

I believed this too. That Glint knew and prepared a backup plan for her demise. Ogden even said: "In time she (glint) could become an elder dragon. I believe that is also why, in GW1 Ogden did not stay with the rest of the dwarves, he was perhaps told by Glint to stay behind and continue with their fail-safe plan. There is an shrine of glint in the dwarves area in GW1 for the brotherhood of the dragon. He, the Master of Peace, the Zephyrites, and Glint were all in on it.

There is more than one altar in the lore but we only know of two. Naming them the altar of the forgotten simply because they had no other name.

There are two known altars of the forgotten, even the forgotten did not know where they came from and the altars predate their knowledge. They used the spell/enchantment to free Glint (then called Glaust). They were her attendants and perhaps they foresaw the future as well and was their reasoning behind freeing her? Perhaps even Glint then Glaust knew that she was under her master’s control, I’m sure high tiered minions have some “sense” of self awareness after a moment’s time especially from receiving magical energies.

The master of peace was running to the altar in magnuma wastes. The other altar is in Orr, the altar of Glaust.

The cutscene when the Pale Tree tells us she wanted us to see the vision – people speculated that those are Mursaat towers. They are not. It’s the altar and the ritual being performed to free a minion of an elder dragon’s influence.

Quote:

The Altar of Glaust is a large Forgotten altar that is required for an ancient ritual capable of giving free will to Elder Dragon minions. It was here that Glint was freed from Kralkatorrik’s control when she was known as Glaust, which the altar bears the name of. When the ritual is cast, beams of light* break through the unnatural clouds above and through the circular architecture surrounding the altar. Though it predates the Six Human Gods arrival on Tyria and is of Forgotten make, the altar is of the same design as the rest of Arah and most Orrian structures, which are said to be made by the Six Gods or modeled off of the gods’ designs.

*beams of light – the “towers” of light we see coming through the clouds with the shadow of the dragon trying to get at the egg. Mordremoth is very well aware of what it is that the Zephyrites are doing. That is why he is trying to stop us.

I also think that the Skritt know something is wrong. They are (re) building an “ark” lol. I believe that those massive tenticals all around the wastes are actually sucking up water to probably feed that enormous plant boss behind that closed off area. If we defeat it the water will probably come gushing back out to fill the lower underground chasms first before flooding back up and taking the boat with it.

They’re trying to push the old boat where its placed, flooding the chasm and pushing the boat up.

As far as Caithe’s involvement in everything. I wasn’t shocked about what she did since Caithe has been very suspicious since the very beginning of the game. Why, of all other Sylvari that could have shown up to aid the PC or even a projection of the pale tree herself – even your cycle mentor could have shown up. She of all people comes to help you. While I understand Anet may have done it for reasons being she’s a destiny’s edge member. I just thought that set up was initially weird in the beginning of the game.

But we shall see at the finale!

/spoiler.

No I know this but the skin is in the GW2 wardrobe. Since there is already a primordus staff and the Scythe is actually also a staff itself – considering the weapons were renamed. It is either still in the game as its in the wardrobe; or something anet forgot to take out. Who knows~

I will now be dedicating my time to figuring out the Destroyer Scythe. Been hunting down every “hot”, “fiery”, “destroyer”, themed item I can find/know. Hardened destroyer cores, ancient staff components, “lump of primordum”, dark steel, orichalcum components, vicious claws, large claws, creating a primodus staff to see if I could throw it in with anything, CoE dungeon token items, Blazeridge steep merchants/karma merchants. Everything. fun looking for the most mundane items which you’d never think go in the forge: i.e. Heart of Mellaghan and Ambrosia are extremely good examples. Who would have thought a sea satchel was made with a 20 slot gossamer bag or a stein made from a liquor CONSUMABLE sold by an everyday merchant. think outside the box and look even into the most mundane. Experiment, experiment, experiment.

Also, the other thing is “geysers” against a wall. My mind immediately went to the skipping stones Jumping puzzle and getting to the top…there are mobs up there I think. And a champ. It can also refers to the rumbling of the geyser at the karka nest center?

My thoughts are “dullened blade” what if he is mining for something, ore in south sun, and not killing the karma. What if the karka are simply in his way of mining. Hitting rock esp for resources like precious stones, chiseling through the debri can cause a blade to duller quickly.

Rereading all the clues, made me throw the idea of ghostly doubloon out of the script and rethink. So, now that we know it’s an alley? I’m wondering if it’s:

Junker’s Apex, Black Citadel - Junker’s Scrapyard
East Lurk Alley, Divinity’s Reach - Eastern Commons
JoAnna is a little girl found in a dark alley just to the west of Defender’s Field, within the Stronghold of Ebonhawke.

I wonder if this gives people any ideas or clues.

Maybe not but there were some ghosts and xunlai chests there that I had not seen there before. So I have no idea, plus new item creations have been created before with pre-existing items in the game. I don’t think anyone should dis-include recycling already implemented items in the game simply because of something new. Mawdrey was a good example

I agree with you but, the xunlai and ghosts were always there since the beginning. and Mawdrey was build using new items that were introduced with the living story and it relates to it

Oh I know but what I mean is also in tangent with the new items were using already preexisting resources in said recipes. So it may include new items & old ones. I think we will have to do a bit more thinking outside the box personally.

Before the attack on Lion’s Arch
Isn’t it amazing? We’re directly over the ruins of Lion’s Arch Keep.
The ruling families of Kryta once held court in these dilapidated walls.
? What’s the Durmand Priory doing in the ruins?
Queen Jennah asked us to recover drowned keepsakes from her family’s lineage.
? Have you discovered anything useful?
Just bits and pieces about the Keep, like its relationship to the Lionguard, and how Durmand himself was viewed by the monarchy.
? Interesting. Good luck with your excavation.

Notice the Ghostly Doubloon reads:

Eastern Pyramid is a point of interest within Sorrow’s Bay.
NOTE:
Only accessible during The Battle of Claw Island and Retribution.
This POI is outside the instance and is awarded upon entering the instance.

But in the wiki it says that Sorrow’s Bay is an area where ships come and go from LA. Perhaps then it’s near this area, start looking through allies and slums haha

Every single “BAY”
——
Steamspur Bay is east of the Steamspur Mountains.
Sawtooth Bay in Southsun with Privateer’s Moorage POI
The Janthir Bay is the sea to the far north of Kryta and the Maguuma Jungle.
Ventry Bay is an area within Caledon Forest.
Quetzal Bay is main body of water in Caledon Forest
Slade’s Bay POI at Brigantine Isles.
Terzetto Bay in the Straits of Devastation.
Mirror Bay at the Cathedral of Eternal Radiance
Whisper Bay at Malchor’s Leap
Sanguine Bay in Bloodtide Coast.
Bay Haven POI at Sandycove Beach. In Caledon Forest.
Necrolith Bay in Caledon Forest.
Sorrow’s Bay in Lion’s Arch. With Eastern Pyramid POI.
Ehmry Bay “somewhere” in Tyria.

Now it can’t be any of the Caledon areas, aka Sylvari homelands because they’re a new race. I am unsure of Orr but I highly doubt it as well, that it would be an area that has lost histories about it. Therefore it has to be any of the “Lionguard” posts/areas, as the free people of Lion’s Arch would be “sensitive about their heritage.” Thinking caps on~.

Only tier 6 jewel we know is the Azurite Orb/Azurite Crystal which are only found in the molten dredge base fractal from the mythril ore nodes.

I know that the recipe for an exotic jewel is:
1 Orichalcum Filigree
1 Glob of Ectoplasm
1 Azurite Orb

then there’s
1 Mithril Filigree
1 Glob of Ectoplasm
5 Azurite Crystal

that makes a rare. who knows. maybe start just chucking stones in?…
or maybe oricalchum weapon components?

I had already guessed it has something to do with a doubloon since the only thing copper was the copper doubloon. It couldn’t be a merchant because merchants rarely ever sell items like the teleport gun in timberline falls.

Second it took all his gold, doesn’t necessarily mean it was by TP which left me to believe it was a karma merchant since I know very few normal merchant vendors who take coin use gold as an increment. The other thing I knew was “ghostly” which had to be ghostly doubloon and is the only item in the game with it in it’s name. The copper part of adding no additional information was pretty much a give away that cemented the idea.

When I put the mystic forge stone in my inventory and the doubloon into the forge it gave no grey.

Now I’m thinking of recipes that use doubloons and what they use. So the next item up from a green is a rare. If by throwing these items into the forge it will go up to the next tier.

So. What other recipes use doubloons?
Discipline Jeweler Req.
Ingredients
1 Pile of Shimmering Dust
2 Silver Doubloon

Most doubloon recipes create runes.

except a gift recipe which uses 250 silver doubloons:

1 Gift of the Forgeman
250 Steel Ingot
150 Molten Lodestone
250 Silver Doubloon

To make Quicksilver.

Then you have:
1 Pile of Glittering Dust
1 Tiger’s Eye Pebble
1 Copper Doubloon

That creates a sunstone nugget.

Maybe this recipe is creating a jeweler artifact.
And if it is, perhaps it uses crystalline dust, a green stone, mystic forge stone, ectoplasm, etc.

The Foefire weapons use:
Eldritch Scroll
A Gift
And Orichalcum…..

It’s maybe a recipe this is creating or an actual item? Speculations. At the forge trying different combinations~
