- Because the meta or pvp in general didn’t change at all
Now we were supposed to wait another 3-5 months till the next balance change where we can’t even be sure things are gonna change because they didn’t in all the balance changes so far
One developer…please tell me your opinion on this or make a video because these are the questions that people want to have answered

L-eavers happen almost every solo q match
L-osing to a guy that is not as good as you but plays a better build is not fun
I- think it would all turn out well if anet would work together with the players
S-pamming autoattack and killing others is not fun either
V-eteran players are not being rewarded like skyhammer farmers
A-nything that changes this meta would be nice
I- would be so happy if we could get the promised ranger and warrior changes asap
N-o one enjoys the game as it is atm in the top 100 area

Hey guys, some of you know me others might not but I will tell you my opinion on the 10th Dezember Patch and the future of Guild Wars 2
A little bit about myself before everybody starts to trashtalk me because they have never heard of me or whatever..
I have been playing this game since the beta (pvp only – got one character rank 40 in pve) I started playing tournaments only after i farmed myself to rank 10 in pvp … i immediately started to play with some guys (ventari van dark suldaris kayun) as a team called trolling for life…we were pretty successfull at that time..months later when the condi buff patch hit (i will just call it that) our team disbanded and I have been pugging a lot since then … in the last months i started a youtube channel with tipps and tricks for new players to help the community which helped me become a shoutcaster some weeks ago. The next patch looks very nice so I am considering setting up a new Trolling For Life Core Team…but some things still need to be changed!
So now to what I think guild wars 2 needs or doesn’t need concerning the next patch:
I will just talk a little bit about the biggest points that concern me there and in patches we already had
Diamond Skin: this trait is a 100% immunity to condi dmg which is never a good thing in a game (the question if it is good or not is not my main point here) my main point is that it doesn’t take any skill which can actually lead to a lower skilled player winning against a good player since you don’t even have to active it in a perfect moment
Automated Response: Pretty similar to diamond skin and the reason i don’t think it is good to have that in the game is the same as above
Lyssa Runes: In my opinion lyssa runes outshine the other runes because the damage in this game is way too high at this point and lyssa provides a condi remove as well as stability and protection which really helps vs more bursty classes (i would suggest a 60/90 sec internal cd for the lyssa rune proc)
Fresh Air: The air attunement of the elementalist with its insane instant damage is another thing that leads to an unbalanced game in connection the recharge with fresh air…also in my opinion traits such as fresh air and diamond skin really destroy the elementalist’s playstyle…some time ago ele was used as an allrounder class that can be really supportive while dealing a nice amount of dmg which can be combined in spikes (buffing stealth, might) as well as for supporting allies (swiftness, heal)

nobody wants a condition heavy bunker meta come back to gw2 … having balanced stats amulettes like celestial is really nice for balanced ele or maybe even mesmer for a hybrid kind of thing but perplexity in pvp…no please no
Halting Strike: Yes i am a mesmer and since this post aims to show an objective point of view i also have to talk about this trait…when you talk about halting strike you talk about – instant – damage that can reach up to 3-4k (not dodgeable) imo it should either be removed completely or the dmg nerfed
Warrior in general: Imo apart from the healing signet and berserkers stance there is no such thing as a broken trait in general when it comes to warrior…imo it’s the combination of the things a warrior has that makes it too strong
Survivability: healing signet, bersercer stance, endure pain, toughness, vitality, elite signet with lyssa runes
Physical damage: a lot of physical damage due to the 50% crit chance on stun trait even when using soldier’s amulet
Condition damage: even a soldier or berserker warrior can deal a lot of its damage with conditions because the duration of the bleeding stacks on pindown is huge…and burning has a very high base dmg and can be used almost all the time..imo condition damage should scale more with the amulet a player is using
Condition remove: Cleansing ire, elite signet in combination with lyssa runes, (immunity with berserker stance)
*Mobility: 25% movement speed increase all the time when wielding a melee weapon
Warrior’s Longbow: Add a better animation to pin down and reduce the size/duration of the f1 burst skill…in a game where you have to fight on a point a skill that allows a player to cover a whole point with burning for a such a long duration is not a good thing
Warrior’s Hammer: the animation of #3 and #5 are too similar especially when playing asura which makes it really hard to dodge the right thing
Healing Signet: One of the main sources why warrior is so strong.. (also it’s passive play again that doesn’t acquire any skill) no matter how hard hammer longbow will be nerfed next patch..healing signet will still be one of the main factors why other warrior builds will still be too strong
Bersercer Stance: this trait promotes passive play and a 100% immunity to condi dmg which is never a good thing in a game (the question if it is good or not is not my main point here) my main point is that it doesn’t take any skill which can actually lead to a lower skilled player winning against a good player
The problem with that is that all warrior builds will be too strong if none of the things get nerfed
Ranger’s Pets: the damage of a ranger pet doesn’t scale with the attributes of the ranger very well…the problem is that even a spirit ranger using rabid amulet can let his pet hit up to 4k (not talking about bouncing attacks here which can actually hit up to 8.k)…let the pets attributes scale with the attributes with ranger more and then we might see some condi rangers using pets that actually apply conditions on enemies or heal the ranger
Another thing I want to mention here is that since ranger is a very passive class, rangers should have more possibilities to control their pets
Thief: I am not sure how thief will develope so I will try to be a little bit careful here..imo the possibility to dodge a lot even after the patch will still allow very good players to be “beasts” and completely destroy other classes…the unbalanced thing here is that other classes don’t have that possibility which makes it unbalanced imo

So currently there is a bug that if the thief manages to interrupt a mesmer with the basilisk venom he will proc halting strike on the mesmer which will get fixed BUT please also make sure to fix the proc of chaotic interruption as well which is the exact same thing basically
Risk and reward on thief:
The main problem I want to point out is attacking when in stealth
If the thief hits the target he will get revealed BUT let’s say the enemy has aegis it will first rip off aegis without revealing him -> attacking an enemy out of stealth should always reveal the thief imo
If the thief uses his shortbow autoattack in stealth it will immobilise the target But since you can clearly see the shot coming you will try to evade it…if the attack gets evaded (actually any attack out of stealth) it will not reveal the thiekitteno actually it is better for the target not to dodge any attack out of stealth until the stealth runs out and instead take all the damage? not a good mechanic imo -> missing an attack when stealthed should always reveal the thief -> adding risk to thief
Evasive Shot Shortbow #3
spammable evade on weaponset -> not sure if I have to explain why this is a bad mechanic
the only difference between flanking strike and evasive shot is that you can’t chain flanking strike which doesn’t make it thaaaat strong
Shortbow autoattack:
Pretty much THE counter on this weaponset vs mesmer
If you dodge on mesmer you leave a clone behind which means dodging is almost useless vs thief because the attack will bounce from the clone to you resulting in mesmer not being able to create a bigger gap between himself and the thief without taking damage – my idea is to make the attack bounce only once

General Changes:
-Conditions:-
Bleeding/Burning: let the damage scale with condition damage more so that berserker or soldier classes don’t deal that much damage with conditions
Blind: make the skills that apply a blind instant (like we see on ele) but decrease the blind duration
Poison: remove damage
Torment: change the skill so it does half the damage when moving double dmg while the target is not moving (in a game where good positioning and movement is a key to win a fight moving should not be punished) it also can lead to nice combinations with stun and immobilise
Immobilise: max duration 5 sec
Fear: move the “terror” trait on necro to grandmaster
Weakness: let it stack in intensity and reduce the duration of weakness applied by skills a little bit
How will that affect the Game:
Conditions will be used more carefully and we don’t see the spam we all hate
Runes:
Remove passive effects that depend on luck like the fear when fighting against somebody using nightmare runes

-PvP Rewards/PvP in general-
- Have a monthly tournament that is being advertised like the Scarleth Pve stuff
- Implement Seasons with new armor skins at the end of every season for very good teams
- Implement leagues (gold, silver,bronze etc etc) at the end of every season the best team of the silver league moves up to the gold league and the team on the last place moves down to the bronze league (team leaderboard kind of thing)
- Implement ingame video tutorials on how to play pvp for new players
(I would be up for working on one but it has to be easy accessible for new players)
- Let players enter solo q/team q only after they have reached a certain rank or have played a certain amount of matches
- Legendaries: when reaching a certain position in the leagues you get a reward with which you can craft a legendary (so people can’t farm them)
- Let players display their leaderboard rank ingame (number next to the name)
- Implement a trading post npc in the heart of the mists
- Implement a system where players can place bets on teams in tournaments
—>>> easy gold for players but they have to watch streamed tournaments to know which teams are good so they don’t lose their money when placing bets (very good for the shoutcaster community)
-Implement X vs X arenas (FOR FUN)
-Implement a leaderboard ingame so you don’t have to check your rank on a website
-Let a player decide in the character creation if he wants to start his adventures in pve or pvp

Trickery II—Instinctual Response: Fixed a bug that caused this trait to grant fury and vigor while on cooldown.
How can this meet the hotfix criteria and healing signet and spirit of nature renewal remain untouched for quite a while again while both (Warrior and Ranger) are still being very dominant in the meta after six months already
Please explain this to me because I can’t understand the logic behind it
-Autoattacks-
Imo the design of the mesmer’s sword autoattack is awesome and balanced..it doesnt deal that much damage and since you are very squishy you dont want to spam it in a fight..the third attack of the chain is sweet tho since you rip off one boon from your target (risk of hitting the enemy three times with the attack – little reward..boon rip)
The problem is that other autoattacks are way better (apply conditions, deal a lot more dmg) which is the reason for people spamming them
In my opinion the effects of the “strong” autoattacks should be nerfed and the other attacks of the weaponset should be buffed a bit in order to balance that

With the upcoming ele buffs and nerfs of other classes diamond skin could actually play a big role in pvp vs condi classes like ranger or necro (especially necro)…
since a 100% condition immunity to a specific sort of damage is a very bad mechanic without counterplay for some classes it should not be in the game
having automated response changed that conditions can be applied but only last 50% as long is a very good idea and is really good for the game
Now let’s check some other traits or skills in the game which have that
Bersercer’s stance: imo it should be changed the same way decrease the cooldown but make it so conditions can be applied with only 50% the duration
Diamond Skin: same thing basically as ar: change it so that it lasts till 75% or 80% of the ele’s hp but only reduce the condi duration by 50%
With these changes and the rest of the upcoming changes i am quite optimistic when it comes to the next months of gw2

I know that I have listed a lot of things and didn’t provide a solution for everything but the aim of this thread is to point out what is going wrong atm and to solve those problems I think Anet will find a lot of experienced players that will help find solutions for the problems because imo it is not a good idea if I tell Anet how to balance the Engineer for example if I don’t know everything about this class – what I would suggest here is sitting together with some really good/experienced engineer players and ask them what they think needs to be done and then sit together with good/experienced players of other classes and ask them what they think about the suggested engineer changes.
If I forgot anything I will add it to the thread later.

Summary of steal when using the current thief build (30 0 10 0 30)
1) 1.244 dmg (usually more)
2) 2 boons stolen (priority on stability)
3) giving these boons to you and nearby allies in a radius of 240
4) grants vigor for 10 seconds
5) grants you and allies in a radius of 360 fury for around 10 sec
6) grants you and allies in a radius of 360 swiftness for around 10 sec (and 1 might stack)
7) heals you for 2.040
8) puts poison on the enemy for 13 seconds
9) dazes the target (which goes through stab because its first priority on boons removed)
10) when using the current backstab build with panic strike it afflicts weakness for 51/4 sec on the enemy
11) recharges all skills of one type (traps, venoms etc)
12) gives you 2 initiative
13) has a 900 range
14) is instacast
15) can even be casted if you cannot even port to the target currently because he is on an obstacle (effects still proc)
16) only has 21 1/2 seconds cooldown
17) ports to the target (instant gapcloser)
18) you get a skill that in most cases counters your enemy for a certain amount of time
Can you not see how this is utterly broken?
To be honest I don’t acually mind having such a thing on thief because thief requires at lot of skill to be played competetively but the problem is that even tho the thief uses a lot of trait points to improve his “steal” ability in order to improve his survivability he still deals a ridiculous amount of dmg by double procs (air-fire, fire-blood)
Solution:
1.) Add counterplay to steal (you can only predict it atm)
2.) Remove some effects of steal – or – nerf double procs but make up for the nerfs by buffing other things on classes (not thief) that rely on these procs to have sustained dmg
I do also think that passive stuff in this game needs an overwork as well (necro fear procs, engi burning, mesmer condi output) and the strength of weaponswitches with geomancy and doom on some classes
as well as relying on autoattack for dmg
mesmer – gs
ranger – shortbow
thief – autoattack
warrior – axe (except for eviscerate)
but this time i really want to discuss “steal”
also dont forget the day “pin down” got an animation – it added so much more skill to duels fighting as or against a warrior

This thread aims to start a discussion on a big balancing problem – the warrior.
First of all I will tell you my opinion from the point of view of a mesmer/thief.
Warriors obviously got nerfed in the last patch but why do we still see almost every top team running two of them? imo the wrong things got nerfed
I am trying to stay as objective as possible to make sure this thread stays constructive!
Here we go:
- In this game – or any game that aims to be competetive there should be risk and there should be reward… the more risk you take the bigger the reward should be
Talking as a mesmer this means porting into the middle of the teamfight to shatter (-illusionary persona) -> more damage but you can drop in seconds
- Also you have a certain rotation that deals a nice amount of damage (-the burst)
for example -> mirror blade- izerker – blink – mindwrack
-> illusionary leap – blurred frenzy – diversion – mirror images – mindwrack
as you can see you have to combine several attacks to hit with a nice amount of damage while having obvious animations on the attacks (Mirror blade, illusionary leap) (mirror images are instant but are only really effective if you managed to hit illusonary leap)
The point is that if you dont hit one of the combos you are not being effective at all also you have to take a certain risk in order to be effective
Let’s come to warrior:
The problem with warrior is that it is almost impossible to counter warriors if they are playing it right
Lets take a burst setup – you spike the warriors from stealth
Warrior: if he reacts fast enough he can basically survive with around 60% health using Endure pain (making it possible for him to disengage) (no risk for pressing one skill – surviving – 100% reward)
Lets take a condition semibunker setup – you try to outsustain the warriors
Warrior:
Bersercer’s Stance – immunity to conditions for quite a long time (no risk for pressing one skill – surviving 100% reward),
Cleansing ire (cleansing with a chance of 100% on longbow, not even having to hit the condi cleanse 0% risk – 100% reward)
Lyssa runes (i dont really want to talk about these runes because these are an other balancing problem)
Lets take a fast setup that can outroam others (portals, thieves)
Warrior: 25% movement speed increase while wielding a close ranged weapon
actually thats a very good trait but with portal you are still faster one might think
you are indeed faster but then again this game focuses on holding points (- fighting on points) a warrior also has huge point presence because of his lifepool and his healing signet (passive- 0% risk – 100% reward) i think we can all agree that mesmers and thieves cant fight vs warriors on a point so you basically have to take a class that can hold warriors on points while keeping them under pressure
i cant think of any class here except for another warrior (see my point? )
Summary:
Warrior:
Condition immunity on one click – check
Damage immunity on one click – check
Nice amount of hp – check
Sustain in a teamfight – check
Possibility to CC enemies – check
Mobility (25% movement speed increase) – check (might not be the best but still)
Condition cleanse – check
Stability – check
Good in duels – check
Good in teamfights – check
Condition pressure – check (Longbow burning, bleeding)
In my opinion the nerf on hammer was a good idea but it was not what made warrior too strong (of course it was a part of it but not the main problem)
The main problem I see is that a balanced class can only choose two of these:
Survivability (point presence, big health pool etc)
Damage (physical or condition damage)
Mobility (ports, swiftness, movement speed increase)

PS: Some might argue that I am biased as a mesmer player because it’s weak atm - imo mesmer is in a decent spot atm so don’t focus on the classes I play focus on what is being said above and please read carefully

So…..when the patch with the huge condition class buff hit I was angry I was really angry and sad…sad that I couldnt play my mesmer anymore..after some time of frustration and trying out new builds I came to the conclusion that mesmer sucks (i have actually invented two builds that are viable tho)….i was sad ..very sad…but then I watched the state of the game for the coming patch at the end of september and i realized one thing…i have paid only 50 € or smth for this game..and i have been enjoying it a lot over the past year playing it…i had ups and downs with my team but we had a good laugh almost everytime playing it…and I can also feel that the devs are dedicated to do everything to make this game even better…almost every month we get new stuff do discover …for free… i have never seen it from this perspective….all the complaints…everything ..i used to be a part of that…but actually this game is awesome and i love you anet (no homo) for creating it and working to improve it everyday
AND I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT PATCH
what i have heard in the state of the game it is gonna be epic…and u can see the love anet puts in this game when you hear jonathan and grouch talking about it:

well if u use sword 3 ur illusion is most likely to not reach your target if your target is not on even ground

I always felt like i am not contributing to my team enough and that no matter how good I play, Mesmer has no chance of having a safe place in the meta.

Pros:
- Always tons of boons on yourself (which makes you a lot more tanky than the usual shatter mesmer)
- Perfect stats for dmg (crit chance/crit damage)
- -20 % condi duration on you
- Having at least 15 stacks of might all the time if you play it right (Insane dmg incoming :>)
- Spreading the boons (25 might stacks etc) you have to your whole team (feeling usefull…something new for mesmer in this Meta hehe)
- Perfect Build for 2 vs 2/ 3 vs 3 etc
- Condi remove (arcane thievery also boon steal to spread those to your team)
- Interrupts are important (that’s so awesome because no matter what interrupt build i have tried so far i never felt like the interrupts were the key of the build)
- High dmg output through shatter and/or phantasms (might stacks)
Cons:
- Boon stealing enemies like s/d thieves are ur worst nightmare (but u can kill them quite easily in 1 vs 1 fights)
- Necros (counterclass atm)
I have actually changed the build u saw in the video a little bit to improve its efficency

Those are not even the two biggest issues right now. Necro MM needs to be adjusted right away.
It’s also lame that any mesmer who doesn’t suck should be able to beat any other class 1v1.

@To all those defending warriors: for the past few days I’ve been playing both solo queue and team queue almost constantly, and here are my findings:
1) there was not a single match where there wouldn’t be present at least one warrior. Not a single match.
2) team queue suffered from warrior stacking much more significantly than solo queue. At least half of the teams I have faced had 2 or more (usually even 3) warriors. While beating teams with less warriors normally, I have rarely, if ever, won a match against a team with 3 warriors. It was not a matter of having bad team composition against warriors, since I played with different people on different classes. The only counter-composition was playing warriors ourselves.
3) Not even having champion legionnaire title (something basic for pvp players), I have achieved the highest win/loss ratio with my warrior that only ties for the first place with spirit ranger.No other class in this game has access to such superior combination of mechanics like warriors do at this moment. Free access to CC, damage, sustain, mobility, AoE pressure, single target pressure, hybrid type damage ect. makes warriors vastly overpowered compared to any other spec in this game.
My ideas for fixes:
1) Make healing signet more “similar” to the new signet of ether that mesmers have received. It would by achieved by this:
i) healing scales with adrenaline level (adrenaline spam for condi removal would mean much less healing, just like with the mesmer signet and it’s condi removal trait)
ii) healing would take place every 3 seconds (allowing for better burst impact on warriors)
iii) healing signet active would be changed to “recharge all stance skills”
iv) 40 seconds cooldown on activation (as almost every warrior takes sig cd recharge trait + active would be vastly more powerful than mesmer’s)2) and following changes would be made to stances:
i) base duration of every stance would be gutted to 1/4 of the current duration
ii) stance activation consumes adrenaline, for ever bar of adrenaline spent you gain 1/4 extra duration (meaning 3 bars would give full duration as it is now).
iii) the numbers are ad-hoc just to demonstrate the thought process, they could be like 1/2 and for full duration adrenaline must be spent but it’s all about the thought processdoes this seem familiar? yea, it’s all inspired by mesmer’s own class mechanics. With the exception that mesmers don’t get 3 separate immunities, but only one with a short duration, yet on a very long cooldown (don’t bother mentioning blurred frenzy, warriors get so much crowd control that comparing mesmer’s weapon skills with warriors’ is just dumb)

However they are a small group with limited amount of resources. So it takes time to fix all the issues we are currently seeing at the moment.
But that’s the real question: why is there a lack of resources? why is class balancing such a low priority?

Yesterday my brother and i who play pvp on a regular basis tried to q sync several times at around 1 o’clock in the morning
Since we sit next to each other it should have been quite easy for us
It didn’t work three or four times then it worked one time but we were in different teams
SO: guys please stop complaining it’s all just luck

no the downstate is so awesome!!! here u can see how well a team coordinates to rezz smbdy or to stomp also you can see some sick trickstomps…when its the perfect time for it
i have actually experienced the same thing..without the trait it feels like from 10 games there is one situation in which it applies confusion..but i also think the 100% combo finisher should get nerfed..
Please Anet don’t focus on the things you are implementing alone ..they are nice but we have so many issues with the current game at the moment concering class balance so please nerf pistol whip in the coming patch on the 15th of april
this build holds back a lot of classes
the changes you suggested here might be the biggest buff a mesmer could receive and would only nerf a non-viable mesmer tpvp build which i have never seen in high end tpvp and which we will never see in high end tpvp
furthermore it shows that you have never played a single match with shatter mesmer ..are you sure you (as a warrior) should complain about mesmers?
if your team gets run over by such a lineup you should maybe consider working on your splits and tactics since you can easily outsustain your enemies while your thief can pressure both mesmers while they cant even stay on the point vs your double warrior lineup

I didn’t realize this thread would catch fire that fast so I will be more specific about why I think so
Some time ago mesmer filled to role of a team supportive kind of class with portal iol timewarp/moa etc while still being able to survive pretty well and dealing a lot of damage…some could say having everything was op but the mesmer skills are very easy to dodge so it is a balanced class overall compared to some others
At the moment due to heavy aoe cc and passive condition spam coming from classes like spirit ranger or warrior combined with pistol whip thieves almost oneshotting a mesmer with a single skill mesmer is forced to play 2 ranged weapons which are staff and gs which makes them a roamer that has to kite around points in conquest while providing his team with portals to outroam the enemy team which only works if you have enough classes that can stand on the points because otherwise your mesmer has to and he will shut down in seconds -> reminds me of thief here
The problem is that mesmer is not safe and it doesnt matter how fast you teleport around because there is always a thief chasing you around the map (if the enemy team knows how to) completely shutting you down with teleports that have pretty much no cd and work on all axes
Therefore you are forced to run more utilities like decoy or blink and mass invis that ensure that you can survive long enough to actually do work with your portal leaving less space for team utilities like iol and moa/timewarp.
Now to the main problem: the role of mesmer
Dealing damage: Thief deals more damage in a shorter period of time with less risk
thief almost always has a skill ready to do dmg due to initiative system..mesmer is on cooldown pretty fast
Surviving: Mesmer has a pretty good chance of surviving as long as the enemy team doesnt have a thief especially after the vigor nerf it will be even harder …whereas as a thief you can do what you want when it comes to repositioning as long as you know how to play better than the enemy thief (matter of skill not a matter of your class here)
Roaming: Mesmer has portal which is pretty much the only reason mesmer is still viable (Thief has very fast mobility with all his ports on a very low cd being able to jump almost a range of 2000 combining some skills in 1 sec)
Duels: people will say you should just play different if you are forced to duel on your mesmer and that mesmer is the best duel class anyways but first of all mesmer is not the best duel class by far anymore second of all since we have conquest mode and mesmer is forced to run 2 ranged weapons he cant effectively fight on a point and has to kite the enemy which makes you lose the point for sure.. and this doesnt even guarantee a win against some of the classes there are in the current meta so it’s a lose lose situation at some point
Team support: portal, boon remove, mass invis these are the main things for mesmer but they are only possible if you don’t get shut down by the enemy thief (see the problem?)
thief can stack might/heal/stack swiftness with his blast finishers, can steal 2 boons every 20 secs to give them to your team (priority is stability whereas stability gets removed last when you use your shatter skills on mesmer), thief also has shadow refuge for almost guaranteed rezzes and perfect team support, thief has a lot of immobilises and stuns and dazes on demand with the current pistol whip build
Summary:
in my opinion mesmer is almost fine but a lot of classes need to be changed
in order to balance the game and bring classes back into the meta
I won’t go into the specifics on how to nerf certain classes since we have a lot of posts on them on the forum already
Necromancer: dmg nerf (happening next patch anyways)
Warrior: sustain nerf and condition damage nerf!! (change bersercer stance, cleansing ire, the damage when running soldier’s amulett)
Thief: nerf the ports and change pistol whip and steal
Guard: pretty much fine right now
Ranger: reduce passive stuff and nerf spirit of nature
Engineer: give him the ability to instantly remove a few condis (change passive stuff AR and some of the passive traits)
Elementalist: nerf the damage and dont make the skills being instant anymore + buff the sustain in order to get ele to the place it should be: a team supportive class
