Out of curiosity, how do you disable gliding? There are many times when I want to simply jump but not glide, and accidentally tap the space bar one second longer than intended. XD

For your own personal use I suspect simply removing your glider would do the trick.

As for no gliding in jump puzzles and the like, you’d have to ask Anet.
I just know that they make certain areas “no fly” zones which disables gliding.

PS – I died during the battle when Mordremoth summoned some sort of ground explosion and I had to jump into an air updraft to avoid it, only, I couldn’t find it will all the kitten particle effects swirling around the map at the same time.

Two things of note.
1: you can now hide within the shield.
2: you only need to step over to the updrafts to get launched.

I love the styling of the Bloodstone weapons above all other Black Lion sets, but I don’t like the red gems.

If they had a dye channel for the gems so you could change the colour it would be perfect.

Even if this sort of customisation was only limited to Black Lion skins.

All I can do is direct it to CS (and they’ve forwarded it to legal according to the email I received) and let them do as they see fit.

As a musician I’ve dealt with copyright issues aplenty (all copyrights are the same regardless of what the object in question is) and I know that I am happy when someone lets me know I’m getting hosed.

Yeah, it’s pretty obvious the designer has seen the flame/ice swords in GW2, along with a couple million other people. But the blade is different, the dragon heads are similar but not exact copies, and proving in court that he used them as the models for a derivative product isn’t as easy as it sounds.

They look like pretty poor quality knockoffs anyway, a C&D letter from Anet’s legal department might get them to redesign the dragon heads a bit but it’s unlikely they will stop it altogether.

That’s exactly the problem.
Given the extreme similarities to Anets IP (I.E.: the dragon swords) and the fact that if one person (me) would recognize them for what they are, others will too.
Further, given that Anet put them out in the game before these toys, Anet has the claim on them first and licensing would be in their domain.

It would be very difficult to prove that these toys came about spontaneously.

But it’s not really for us to say. Especially since copyright law is can be horribly complicated in situations like this where it’s not a direct copy, it just looks similar enough that it could have been copied, or it could be a total coincidence.

Contact Support and let them know and then Anet can decide how they want to handle it and if necessary the legal system can make the final decision.

Hence the reason for letting Anet know.

I would start with a support incident. When I reported an exploit, they then put me in contact with the anti-exploit team. I suspect copyright issues are handled similarly.

Rare skins that don’t have any higher stats but have unikittenfects and looks.
Anet could even hold a monthly contest for people to submit skin ideas with prizes like 1000 gems or what have you.

I could even see creating new weapons like Chakras ( I would SOOOO love to have these)

Honestly it was the stories behind the “gear progression”, not to mention being forced “rent” the game that I already paid for, that prompted me to avoid WoW, and other similar games, like the plague
But I could see hunting for new, difficult to find skins as a viable middle ground.
No one gets over powered but you still get something for your effort.

I do appreciate the level of detail the company made in that aspect so the question is: Would there be mature servers or ways to confirm your age in order to preview you characters nude? ANet has officially stated that Legendary stats will be bumped to Ascended when Ascended weapons are introduced.

The problem I have with this is the fact that Legendary weapons should be the pinnacle and nothing should match them save another Legendary.
So, what’s the point in going after a Legendary weapon if I can get one of equal stats, easier, in Fractals ?
The entire purpose of pursuing a Legendary weapon is to obtain something that cannot be obtained through anything else but hard work and due diligence.

Pay to win by definition is when players uses cash-shop items to give themselves an unfair advantage over other players who cannot afford to use a cash-shop.
There are no items in the cash shop that will do this.

Now, GW2 is not PtoW and unless Anet starts offering legendary weapons AND armor in the cash shop (so incredibly unlikely as to be both impossible and improbable) this will never change.

If any here played Ace Online, Air Rivals or, as it was once called, Space Cowyboys (all three are the same game hosted by different companies), then you know THAT was a real PtoW game.

Using gold, however you obtain it, to craft your way to 80 does not confer an unfair advantage.

I see so many topics about can this or that laptop run the game. Why do people insist on gaming on a laptop? I just don’t see it….yes some people have fair luck running on a laptop but so many just wind up frustrated because it looks like crap or they have to lower the settings way down just to run it..

Are you aware that many newer laptops (made within the last year and a half) are the equal to towers?
I run an i7 quad core system (laptop) with the Nvidia 460 card… and I have NO problems running graphics on high.

Do yourself a favor, build your own tower, its really easy….like legos:)

Also, you can go much farther being polite and courteous than you can with arrogance and condescension.

So, do yourself a favor and put a lid on being so dislikeable.
