1. Mirage
- great concept and visuals, a bunch of problems
- too short Ambush time window to use; most of ambushes are really weak
- need NEW F1-F4 to work better with the concept (a lot of nice ideas in Mesmer forums, please take time to look at them) – this really feels like could change a lot for better and currently lack of new F1-F4 is troubling, feels unfinished actually.
- axe sometimes bugs and feels weak (after a while I used mostly staff)
- jaunt needs slight more distance
- why can’t we switch with clones? it’s supposed to be the idea for Mirage
- skills that allow your illusions to retarget are a very good concept.
- overal utilities felt good and gave a nice variety to make fun rotations

2. Firebrand
- too long Tome 2 and 3 cooldowns to be reliable support source.
- nice to have a support option on guard finally, tho it’s not my cup of tea – I’ll probably stay DH. Also condi option felt clunky to use.
- where are those lovely books that floated in front of guards in old version of Tomes?
- most of stuff is either cone or round AOE – felt very boring, only difference was numbers and radius or boon that skills applied, no actuall distinction between all the skills. Especially tome skills felt lackluster in terms of animations.
- tho animations like matra charging or equiping or stowing a tome were very nice
- axe AA sound is annoying

3. Deadeye
- rly liked it, do hope for use in PvE
- make some sort of adjustments for deadeye to be viable against huge healthpool targets like raid bosses – way to maintain max malice on target for dps benefit.
- I love the options – daredevil for crazy mobility and cleave close combat and deadeye for long range snipery stuff

4. Yolosmith
- gosh these visuals are stunning, love it
- theme is nice
- yolosmith will make me actually play engie, thanks!

5. Scourge
- seems a nice concept
- we need mobs mechanics that we could counter with scourge skills (boon converts)

6. Weaver
- love the ammount of new skills,
- visuals again stunning, I love you put a lot of effort to it
- still won’t play it, as I do not enjoy ele that much

7. Spellbreaker
- again like with scourge – I do hope for actuall pve mechanics that will utilise boon ripping
- again not my cup of tea

8. Renegade
- please make revs happy (I don’t like rev anyways, but sad for all the rev enthusiasts)

9. Soulbeast
- cool idea, poor animation after merging (no distinction depending on pet)
- love the possibilities for build diversity with all the different pets

TLDR:
- I’ll definately play a lot with Mirage (my future main, tho I do hope It’ll get some improvements), Deadeye – as I enjoyed them a lot, then a bit of Firebrand (used to main guard) and Holosmith (for those animations lol). All other I’ll just max out for collections, weapons and skins.

- And we need more boons on mobs in PvE to use all the new stuff on several elite specs outside of PvP.

Mirage Demo Weekend Feedback

in Mesmer

Shampanix.3928

I tested mirage both on golems in pvp lobby and on veteran mobs in WvW (spend around 2-3 hours experimenting and learning new rotations). I’m not good in pvp so I won’t include any insight on this game mode. My main focus is playing open world and fractals – so more relaxed play.

So how did mirage fair for me:

1. Axe
It seems sometimes axe 2 does not spawn clone properly. Axe 3 seems good, but sometimes it puts you away from target. Axe ambush seems weak. I found Staff ambush most powerful and good to use. After some time I played 80% of time with staff.

2. How did I play
(viper gear axe/torch + staff, false oasis, crystal sands, sand through glass, mirror images, jaunt, traits: chaos 133 illusions 332 mirage 311 – seems like good both for shatters and good for illusions – weird, right? read on please).

Main point is I tried to separate my rotation into two different ways.

First one – offensive mirage cloak + ambush:
I spawned clones then used utilities like Crystal Sands or Sand Through glass to spawn mirror -> jaunt into mirror and ambush.

Second one – deffensive mirage cloak + ambush:
Dodge when enemy AOE or cleave attack to keep clones up and cast ambush to continue condi pressure.

As I kept killing vets I figured out that this is more of a “weaving” playstyle (lol) – you generate clones, go offensive or deffensive cloak + ambush, then shatter for all the benefits and condies from traits (+ jaunt into mirror from shatter, you got additional confusion near to target as well) and then spawn new clones -> repeat.

After some practising it felt quite funny. Kida like what they said abouth both scourge and weaver – battlefield management with keeping eye on your illusions and switching between clone-mode and shatter-mode.

Perhaps a lot of people will say this is stupid, but it “clicked” for me and vets died like flies.

Now problems:
1. All this seems like a huge effort for not that great result. Other specs achieve more with quarter the effort.

2. Most of utilities and ambushes are way to slow or have way to long cooldowns to let you flow through rotation without bottlenecks. Also going from staff to axe/torch felt like I’m doing less dmg.

3. Like everyone else said – jaunt needs more distance.

4. I’m very suprised that F1-4 were not touched. There are some great suggestions how new F1-4 would fit Mirage nicely without making it op.

5. As it’s supposed to be condi damage spec – it’s main damage mechanic – Ambush -
seems very weak (on most if not all weapons).

Overal I did like it. But it needs a bit of work to actually feel good to play. But again – keep in mind that I mostly play open world and fractals. This opinion have no value for pvp, wvw or raids.

1. Mounts (10/10) – very good, especially movement – feels natural. Raptor is great. Please add option to change it’s movement for people with vertigo/nausea but allow others to enjoy it the way it is.

2. Aesthetics (113123332112321/10) – amazing! Music and graphics as always feels like art. Love you for this!

3. Map itself felt boring (5/10). I do hope it’s only due to main features like meta events or more “meaty” stuff being off for demo or accessible on second part of map. Cus Silverwastes is far more interesting desert map to play so far. Definately looking forward to check that out @ release tho.

4. Bounties (6/10) – amazing idea, poor implementation. Go, kill, get reward. I do like random mechanics on champs. But add something more – like random reinforcements, random switch of mechanics during fight, implement something interesting, not like boring circleing beams. Add some sort of hunting the beast down, not just go to point, kill, reward. And make them feel different plz. I know it can be far better.

5. Gear identification (5/10) – again amazing idea, a bit poor implementation. If only we get them separated by rarity or have a chance for ecto drop from green salvage all – ok. I would love to see less bag-ception so it’s a good way, yet I believe it has a lot of room to improve.

6. Story – err…. too short to judge. I only hope it won’t be as short and weak as HoT’s (especially ending). I – like many other – enjoy more darker vibe, more depth. Love the lore tho (more books to collect, more random pages, letters, notes, ancient artifacts to collect, read inscription, all this stuff plz, and add library to home instance or something similar – this gives far more depth to the world)

7. Mobs (7/10) – some just explode on touch like Forged around city. They are far too weak. Tweak them a bit (ONLY a bit). Hydras could be more challenging – they are this amazing, nicely modeled and animated enemy to be feared. Dust mites are too strong on the other hand. They seem to be overturned to compare to our main enemy faction – the Forged. Other mobs seem ok. And they look very nice!

Overal I got bored very fast. But it’s a demo. I’m definately looking forward for my main selling point which are elite specialisations! Yet I do hope that rest of expac will be good. Can’t wait for 22nd to try it all out!

I am very happy with Mirage being condi – I Love condi on Mesmer despite Torment and Confusion being subpar in pve. I do believe that with enough skill split balance devs can make it viable in end game pve. And I do Love the theme and mechanics seems very interesting! Also all the animations <3

That’s exactly how is use it in most of content. GS most of the time, LB for emergency disengage to create enough distance but to keep dpsing. LB’s DPS is total garbage tho.

FAVORITE GW2 maps?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Shampanix.3928

So as I posted on which maps I think are the worst, let’s post here as well:

1. Verdant Brink. I love it. It’s the best of the entire game for me. Both in terms of aesthetics, gameplay and challenge to navigate. I love the day-night cycle. I love all the sneaky routs to go through, I love all these ancient ruins, plants, mobs. Crashed air vehicles. Meta. Music. I feel like it’s most polished map of the entire expansion. Like seriously, I love it.

2. Bitterfrost Frontier. Okay, I will be in a very small minority of people who like it. It’s my favourite of LS3. And I do hope for a better snowy map for LS3E6. Overall I love snow-themed maps. This one seems to deliver several different things (frozen lake, caves, forest) in terms of winter maps. It does it quite well, despite it’s well known problems.

3. Bloodstone Fen. A well packed small map with avesome theme and great mastery. It was soo good for start of LS3.

4. Auric Basin. It’s very well balanced in terms of jungle + beauty of Tarir and it’s great meta.

5. Wayfarer Foothills. Cus I love wintery maps and this one is great, also as a starting zone.

Honourable mention – as well as in the worst maps – is the Desert Borderlands. I hate it cus it’s in WVW and it could be soo good in PVE, especially when WVWes hate it. And I love it cus it’s so kitteny beautiful.

Worst Guild Wars 2 Map?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shampanix.3928

Shampanix.3928

1) Tangled Depths – I love multilayer maps (Verdant Brink is one of my favourite maps in the entire game), but this one is an abomination. Not only very confusing to navigate but at every corner there are plentytof mobs that can easily kill you while you try to get through it. I get it, we need some challenge, but it’s peronal opinion about which map is the worst so there you go. It’s the worst map in the entire game – in my opinion.

2. Ember bay. Despite having all the goodies in terms of LS3 mastery movement tricks, it’s a very boring map. And I just hate aesthetics. Karka, jade, greeny destroyers do not fit the map at all in terms of theme. I do understand it’s related to some extent to the story, but for a vulcanic terrain it does not cut it in terms of mobs. And it’s boring, like seriously boring. Only nice thing is the wurm event. I need to finish my apple achievement and I’ll try to never go there again.

3. Draconis Mons. After a while I grow very tired of this map. It’s a mix of Tangled Depths with Ember Bay – things I really hate in this game. Again the only good thing is the mastery, everything else… not my type of map (I enjoy snowy ones way more). Again like with EB – I’ll try to do what I can to never return there.

4. Desert Borderlands. Cus it’s so beautiful I feel like it’s a wasted opportunity for a really amazing PVE map (in terms of aesthetics it’s one of my favourite in the entire game). And… WvWes hate it anyways. It could be so great to explore it in pve mode + all the goodies in terms of meta events, story, etc…

5. Fields of Ruin. Only Stronghold of Ebonhawke saves it a little. It’s a very boring map.

Oh that’s soo bad… I was soo much into 2v2 with queue, not a custom arena. Some of my best moments in any pvp were 2v2 arenas in wow and I imagined it could be so much fun in gw2. I simply can’t stand sPvP as it currently is.

Anyways, thanks for at least the custom one. I do hope that you will look into making it separate pvp mode with queue after initial feedback from players.

Dear Anet, one more thing that came to my mind while playing new map!

You have this amazing Ley-Line Anomaly event that travels across several old Tyria maps. Consider making similar but perhaps more complex event that would switch daily between LS3 maps!

I know, I know. It would be very hard to implement cus every map is different. But please just consider it. When LS3 is over, people will start to leave these beautiful maps (you’ve put so much effort to make them!). With such meta-event which would occure daily on different maps, you would not only bring more life to these maps so they would stay relevant, but it would also encourage new players to buy episodes from gemstore.

Hey Anet!
First off – Thank you for your amazing work!

Let’s be short:
1. New mastery – amazing. Nice fit with gliding! I think it’s my favourite of all ls3 (tho I consider all LS3 masteries great, far better than half of basic expansion ones)

2. Map is very good in terms of design, size and layering, I have no problem with navigation.

3. Story is kind of veird. To short to flesh the plot twist enough. Dunno if I like or dislike it. For sure I LOVE the last instance boss fight. The climax after it was… meh. Such a big change in plot from a small ammount of story points in episode.

Please read this:
The problem I see and I hope you’ll avoid for next expansion is: you tend to go into one direction with world maps. HoT introduced 4 meta event maps and people complained cus it was only one-way of handling things. Now you introduce ls3 maps with no big meta events because you (probably?) want to compensate.

Why not have both? I mean please consider making each type of map for launch content, and then also with LWS – some maps exploration-mode, and some maps meta-mode. It’s quite boring to have only one type of maps in a row.

Don’t get me wrong – I love all of them. But – my personal opinion ofc – it would be way more interesting if you mixed them. This would also add more replayability to maps in LWS as for now I start to feel some of lws3 maps I won’t visit at all as it’s too much to farm nodes on all 5 maps each day.

I’ve seen this topic long ago and couldn’t decide. Something useful, but I didn’t want to be egoistic about it. After today’s raid pug commanding on TS I decided I know what I could ask for – please help me get commander tag so I could bring in people and help them out. Especially in raids now. But in open world as well to lead events. Perhaps at some point I’ll lern to properly wvw so it would be useful then as well.

2017-Hopes and Speculations [Long Post]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shampanix.3928

Shampanix.3928

Let me add some of mine to your topic:

1. LS3 total of 6 episodes.
- Anet stated LS3 will have less episodes than ls2 and we already know they have 3 separate teams working for each episode. They work half a year on one episode (this will also be important in point 2). So we have possible outcomes 3×2, 3×3, 3×4. Only logical outcome to pick is 3×2 (unless they decide to make 5 episodes, but continue reading please)

2. Second expansion and timing of releases.
- So we already know that the second expansion is in the work for a +year now (except for a break when they were fixing HoT). I would say we can expect launch at september/october this year.

Lets do the math, logic and up-to-date observation of releases. Take note that Mo already stated they want to avoid content draughts like the one happened after and prior to HoT release:

LS3E4 end of january, LS3E5 end of march, LS3E6 end of may/begining of June. Accordingly teams 1 and 2 will be free to join Expansion team to speed up/testing on the final stage of works.

After release of final LS3E6 team no 3 will start working on LS4e1 to make it ready for begining of 2018 to avoid too long content drought. Next we have the release of expac at which team 1 goes back to LS, team 2 stays for 3 months to support fixes within expac and then goes LS as well – and again we have a very good pace of LS episode each 2 months which people seem to be ok with.

By this we get around 3-4 months between ls3e6 and 2. expansion which seems reasonable due to hype increase and awaiting + droping hints at new content. We also have 3-4 months between 2. expansion and ls4e1 due to content ammount we get in 2. expansion to chew on.

3. Announcement.
OK so PAX south maybe? Tho a bit more probable is time near to ls3e5/6 release. It will be more impactful to drag our attention away from “no more ls3? omg” to “whoa new expac”. Seems like good moment to drop such info.

What ya think?
PS: Sorry for any english errors.
PPS: You can find sources for my info in AMAs they did in 2016. Sorry for not quiting directly, I don’t have time now to find all of this.

New expansion pack soon?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shampanix.3928

Shampanix.3928

I’m hoping for next expansion announcement in January, with release in late 2017 perhaps (similar months to HoT). But if Anet can keep the current pace & quality with LS3 I wouldn’t mind it to be half year or even year later if this would mean highly polished, rich experience with next xpac.

The thing I’m missing most in current game state is more variety of elite specs. This is most important here. With amazing ls3 releases I don’t feel like I would need a lot more new “xpac” zones that much. Current ones are amazing. The same with new mechanics/masteries, ls3 provides us with such. But the new elite specs for variety of builds for each prof – yes please, that’s all that missing currently.

The idea here is to keep releasing ls3 and working on xpac 2 at the same time (as Mo already stated they do now). BUT – NO content drought between last episode of ls3 and xpac 2 is a must (best if the gap between last episode and new xpac is same like current between episodes). What I fear is if they’ll get close to xpac release, they might shift their way again to full-powah xpac load. That would be sad.

We’ll see.

Story is amazingly well done, especially what Braham said and did at the end – oh yeah! We totally need stuff to go in this direction!

About map? Okay, I got my new absolutely favourite map of gw2 now. It is just amazing. I liked Bloodstone Fen, did not enjoy Ember Bay that much. But this… seriously!
And the mastery is great. Also adding old stuff to map, guys you did great job!

Many thanks! I’ll spend most of my next 2 months doing stuff in the new zone!

To summarize my experience:

New Story 10/10
New mastery 12/10
New map 15/10

Yea, sounds crazy but I enjoy it hell’a’lot

housing is not the same as garrisons.
But speaking of WoW ideas, wha’t I’d like that WoW is doing too, is class halls. it would be nice and would bring more lore to each class and would also serve for RP purposes.

Yeah, truth sorry, perhaps I’m overreacting to this but garrisons still haunt me in my nightmares xD

On a serious note again:
What you said about class halls has a very good point. I would even say there’s a bigger idea to that – a city, place for all players to meet, and to have a reason to be there. So we could feel the community more. Not just scattered across maps, other cities, etc, but to have a place to come together. The place of stuff to do as well so players would be encouraged to go to and spend time there. What ya think?

And ofc they could make LA important in each expansion to be such place.

Guys, reconsider this player-housing thing. Wow players asked for it for long and it came in WoD expansion as the abomination called Garrisons. People hate it and it strip the MMO idea from game making a lot rage quit. If you wish it so much let’s hope Anet will take a close look to how it killed wow and won’t reproduce same tragic ideas Blizzard had (Please no dumb time-consuming Facebook games in it).

About topic – I would Love to see way more content instead of artificially enlarge small content by huge grind gates like in HoT. And of course more maps. 6 of a scope of these in HoT would be acceptable at release with more to come in pathes. And of course make unique and meaningful masteries for them and also implement some of old stuff to new zones like gliding. Other nice things folks already posted here.

Why I think HoT failed

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Shampanix.3928

Shampanix.3928

One thing I took from that video is the statement that said something like this:

HoT has a lot of small frustrating things. But there are so many that they very often strip enjoyment from the game.

- yea, that’s actually summing up my experience. And there’s the “failure” of HoT in my opinion.

Don’t get me wrong. I still play. I’ve found a way to enjoy the game. But well… when all of game modes have annoying problems and you need to look hard to find at least one thing to enjoy to spend your free time in game? It shouldn’t be like that.

And from this point? I do hope Anet will learn from our feedback to bring:
1. Good fixes to current stuff to make it at least bearable across the table – pve, pvp, wvw
2. Take a lesson for the future and avoid making the same mistakes in next expansion. Obviously they will make other mistakes but at least don’t repeat old ones please.

And such posts, discussions etc – it shows players still care about this game. It’s good but won’t last forever.

Raid need at least 2 difficulty level!

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Shampanix.3928

Shampanix.3928

If I may throw my suggestion:

2 raid difficulties please

1. Easy one – easier than what is now – for casuals. Les dmg to player, higher timer, less boss hp. To let casuals at least see the place. Learn the lore. Learn the encounter mechanics to later be tempted to try harder version. Rewards – some gold, some exotics, and currency – at smaller ammounts than hardcore level so you would have to work longer to gain ascended.

2. Hard one – harder than current difficulty – so those, who so desperately need challenge would have it. Or even gate it for guild-only groups. With full or even a bit better rewards than now and stuff for guild upgrades in somewhat big numbers (this would also help small guilds to develop their guildhall). So people would have reason to play it.

This would satisfy everyone, aye?

From who’s perspective this is written:
I’m playing occasionaly hardcore hours, but mostly I try to limit my time on gaming due to real life duties. So no, I’m no high-end gamer. Sometimes I can spend whole weekend on playing, but that’s all. I can’t sit all day @ computer during week days.

What is good:
1. VB and AB. These maps are just amazing. Beautiful. Complex but not too hard. Feels like dangerous, hostile world – exactly how it should be.

2. Elite specialisations – some better, some worse, yet they changed a lot for some classes and I like it. More variety. More stuff to experiment with. (could use more balance)

3. Gliding – oh my god this is wonderful! Way better than any mounts in other games – this is just fantastic way to travel across the new zones. With uprafts, oh come on – probably best idea in whole expansion!

4. The idea of masteries is great as well. No more death of last season’s gear yay! But….. only idea, check out below.

5. Music. THIS IS MUSIC!!!! It’s just awesome. Especially those pieces that are played in AB, oh my god <3 I’m in love in terms of art – good game Arenanet!

6. Despite being limited as hell in terms of more lore to get hands on in game, more stuff, more interactions, I really like the Exalted! They fit perfectly.

7. And Sylvari madness, awwyeah. That was something great! I even hoped you would destroy alliance and make two opposite factions of players! Yeah, stuff I got used to in WoW haha… but I don’t mind how Sylvari plot played out in the end. Could be more of this of course, but overal a good idea.

What is bad in my opinion? Oh well… there we go!
1. How am I supposed to gain exp when the initial rush through maps is gone? Yeah I try hard to find maps through LFR but it is getting harder and harder, as you would expect people are less interested in the new zones after burning through them. Gating exp in events that require a lot of players isn’t a good idea. We could use some other ways of gaining exp not to be forced to do only one way of playing repeteadly.

2. Dragons Stand. – event map. This decrease actuall open-world maps to 3 (or 2 cus as for me TD is very frustrating and I hate every moment I need to spend there either with my main or my alts). I managed to do meta event there only once. Had fun. Now when I try to do it again I have a lot of trouble finding organised map through lfr. Sad.

3. Tangled Depths – I like that it’s complicated, but you can’t navigate there without hours of painful exploration, while being instakilled by mobs. This was my worst experience at first walk-through on my main guard. Since then I try to spend as least as possible time there with my alts.

4. Stronghold in pvp – good idea, obviously a move towards e-sports as the idea of gameplay taken from mobas. Tho it feels… clunky to play? Yeah. Let’s say I like old maps way more.

5. Masteries. Some of them are great, like beloved gliding, mushroms, byt others are… just to be there. So the mastery tree do not look too empty. I expected them to unveil some mysteries. Involve some lore, just additional stuff. For giggles, for fun, for immersion into world. Something actually meaningful. But… yeah. They’re just to “ding”, and limit you as long as you don’t have them, nothing more. Simple, boring, grindy stuff with tons of exp to gain to progress. And you know what? I played wow a lot. Each time I played alt and went through all current expansion’s maps I dinged max lvl by just doing stuff in maps but not repeatedly. This was progression of character. And here I played 4 characters through HoT maps and storyline. And I can’t even get half masteries done by now without dedicating myself to farm events with all xp boosters on. How isn’t that grindfest? Meh. But yeah, they plan to add new masteries along. Hopefully something useful outside raids -.-’

6. Soo, the story (look out, some spoilers). In VB – omg, amazing stuff. That felt just soo great, finding yourself in hostile teritory fighting to survive! And then flash speed and done – way too fast. Especially with wierd ending. Like, we struggle sooo hard to go through @ first 2 maps within story and suddenly bang it’s over. Why so easy? Couldn’t the bad guy be there longer to annoy us for a while? Why the story couldn’t be bit more complex? I do pray for lw season 3 to fix this.

7. Raids – hello? Okay, I can leave it be. I won’t be able to do it. It’s too hard for me and I don’t have enough of time to spend killing one dude in a game for several tireing hours to train it. It’s okay, let hardcore guys have something to chew on. But you know what? Raids seem to be main source of end-game gear now. Next is crafting which is total grindfest again.

8. Then I started to think – let’s do dungeons. But NOPE, they nerfed rewards from dungeons. Almost noone plays them now. Okay…

9. So fractals? Currently not worth it in terms of rewards. But at least they will fix it @ december for which I am grateful <3

10. And btw, yeah that insta-kill in new zones is so great. At least after the time I’ve learnt how to survive in Maguma. But yeah, I totally understand why people are so angry at it. Yet… at this point I think this should stay. It makes sense after all, this is serious enemy teritory.

11. Would forgot – Revenant! Yeah, profession got some good things but overal feels limiting. You have to stick to premade set of utilities. But yeah, that’s the nature of it. Either you like it or play your old main. I think I might like it when Rev gets one more damage spec and legend and Ventari got buffed to be a real healing spec.

12. Rewards in HoT – what rewards? :P Like, really. Raids which are for small ammount of players? Okay, perhaps some stuff gain through currencies of maps. But except this we are spammed with greens and blues which are useless junk to be either sold by some bronze coins or salvaged.

13. I wanted to try WvW in HoT but it looks soo dead now. Only EotM is ususally filled with people. Tho for me it’s lvling farm for alts. A lot of fun, but it’s not HoT

Uhm… okay. Sorry, I had to do this. I was angry for too long

So overal – a lot of good ideas but implemented poorly. I didn’t mind challenge in game, and I still don’t mind it. But these things need some attention. At least some. Right now I feel totaly discouraged to play. Most of stuff is either gated by heavy grind of masteries, or gated by heavy difficulty or gated by population requirements to do anything.

Was it worth buying? Not so sure, but I think in the end – yes. At least to try it out, check out a lot of new stuff.
This can be fixed. And then game will be more enjoyable. Now it’s just annoying and grindy after surprisingly short time.

I do hope that Anet will bring some fixes and good new stuff to the game in upcoming months.

Suggestion- gliding on all pve maps

Yeah, I would love it too. But yet most of old maps are horizontal. No much use of gliding except some funny space-hiting. (Yea, I love to do it in jungle anyways lol xD)

But you know what? Let’s keep reminding Anet how much we love gliding so they would also implement it in further expansions. And make new maps more vertical than old tyria. Perhaps something between Maguuma and old maps? This would be awesome

ANet might've overreacted?

I feel you. At start of HoT I felt infuriated by how hard mobs are in these new zones. Insta deaths, not being able to progress sometimes and this tree-maze, gosh!…

But you know what? After several days I’ve learned how to run through them, how to mitigate, dodge properly, use all my skills to survive and go further when I’m alone in the jungle. I also try to stick to people. Together we will survive. No other way in this hostile (but so lovely) teritory.

And thank gods Anet is fixing problems with megaserver so you won’t find empty maps.

How about overal idea?

Yes, after all, we do enter hostile enviromnent. Where Mordremoth is the Jungle. He wants to kill us, thus whole place wants us dead. It has to be hostile, harsh, unwelcome. This is what I really enjoy. I’m in a middle of nightmare created by my enemy to take me down. Despite that I prevail and push forward. Against the odds. And I bet when we get used to it we will all be very pleased with the difficulty level. I hope Anet won’t nerf it down… it would be a waste of entire idea of this expansion.

Another thing -how about new players, how to get used to, being casual and similar problems that relate to hardness of new content.
All I can say that there are a lot of friendly people who will help, who will come to you and guide you or help kill that champion who guards your hero challenge. Don’t be affraid to ask on chat for help.

Cheers;)

Thanks Anet!

Hey Anet devs:)

As most of players actually play the game and really enjoy it, I would like to drop by and say thanks as well (“paid post” comment to this imminent :P). As there is some negative buzz around – yes, people who are unhapy, come here and post. Those of us (most) who enjoy HoT – they just play. Thus I’m in need of giving positive feedback to staff who constantly work hard to fix and polish the game.

Big THANK YOU!!!

It’s gonna be another day full of awesome experience I’m sure. Untill now I enjoyed every bit of what I did with HoT. Even Dragon Hunter for my beloved main guardian seems to be quite decent despite what I feared it would be (yes, I expected it to be total disaster actually, but I decided to wait and see).

My thoughts on why some people are unhapy with HoT?
Okay, so. We live in times when in real life we are in rush. Some of people here are so used to it and they try to do the same thing in game – rush fast to get to the end (btw, why? Why burn out the content and have nothing to do later?). I understand you, guys. Some of your arguments sound valid. But on the other hand – being aware of that problem, try to enjoy every bit of what you do in game, even if it takes some time to get there where you want. And this expansion allows that.

I enjoy the moment, take time to dwell into it, instead like in everything else I’m doing in my real life – constant rush at work, at gym, at home with duties. Dah… finally there comes entertaiment – my “sacred” time when I can relax, slow down and just enjoy myself doing stuff.

Like a good coffee on saturday morning;)

Yep, well I hope that at least some of disapointed people will get to the point they’ll start to enjoy the game I wish you all guys that.

Thanks!

PS: Sorry for spelling glitches, not an english native

PPS: Of course there are some problems with launch, but it’s normal with every MMO. And this far it seems like one of the smoothest expansion launches I’ve ever experienced. Good job, Anet keep up the great work!

No acces to elite spec on my 80 in HotM. I even unlocked it in open world but still cannot see it in HotM while tryint to change my old build to switch from one core spec to elite.

EDIT: Actually I cannot access any elite on my old characters. No problem with freshly created revenant tho.
