Kinda obvious that Ree and Jeff went to make HoT while Angel and others worked on the living story.
I just tested and it works.
It just doesn’t show up in combat log.
Remember, sigil of blood only has a 50% chance to proc on crit.
I’ll never understand the necro hate. Power wells hit like a truck.
SoR rose up when several high tier guilds, starting with TW from JQ, transferred into the server and got it organized in WvW. It had the strongest NA population but stalled in Tier 2 due to the lack of coverage. When SBI and SoS both imploded, many off-peak guilds from those servers went to SoR and pushed it to T1. Later IRON, a large EU guild, came in to round out their coverage and made them a solid Tier 1 server.
The WvW guilds made up mostly of transfers formed their own community and had very little interaction with the native SoR guilds like GSCH. From the outside it looked like SoR had an amazing community of guilds that worked well together to succeed in WvW but many didn’t realize that the server had two separate communities that didn’t mesh well together.
Things started going south when their main pst-ocx commander, Lorthos, quit the game and during Season 1, 2013 when IRON went on hiatus and the other EU guilds the server had acquired (KISS and WIC) transferred back to the EU servers. The lack of coverage hurt their ability to compete against the other T1 servers. Internal fighting between the WvW guilds happened. The oceanic and sea guilds were struggling. FEAR and the core of TW were the first to leave the server.
The rest of the guilds still wanted to be in T1 but recruiting new guilds to fill their coverage gaps was too difficult so the remaining guilds in their WvW community collectively relocated to Tarnished Coast.
SoR was left with pretty much zero wvw guilds. The server had barely any pug population to sustain it and it was up the the native SoR community which were shut out of WvW throughout all that time to step up and pick up the pieces.
But then guilds in that community left as well later on. lol
It wasn’t an argument to begin, just some rant spewing hatred towards us lol
What a server was 2 years ago has nothing to do with what a server is now. So your point is moot anyway.
Thanks for your opinion. The great thing about opinions is that they can be wrong, which is the case here.
The only reason DB keeps coming back up to T2 even after three implosions is because of what it was 2 years ago. It was chosen as a server for Taiwanese players and since launch new Taiwanese players go to DB and help counter any attrition.
Nice try.
(edited by Sharpoon.8197)
Lets be real here, no one likes Yaks, DB, FA, SoS, none of them enjoy playing against them and their turtle tactics. If these 4 (T2) servers had the option to vote out one server, YB would be gone.
Already voted for: http://www.gw2wvw.net/content/between-four-t2-size-servers-who-do-you-think-deserves-be-finally-locked-t3
Yeah DB and us are 2v1’ing SoS which is why DB lost all their WPs to us 2 hours back.
What seems overtime to you can be normal playing time from other’s perspective. Whether they are burning out themselves isn’t your concern and clearly you know nothing of. Therefore you shouldn’t be spreading rumours.
I am happy to not provide counterargument a.k.a feeding the forum troll
I don’t think you understand what “by your logic” means.
Clearly my original post was a troll. Truth hurts, I know. Go to response for when you realize that you cannot provide a meaningful counter is to write it off as a troll attempt so your reaction was not unexpected. Hope you have a great day.
edit: If you decide to grow a pair, please point out which part of my original post you think is a rumor. I have already acknowledged my mistake regarding cA.
(edited by Sharpoon.8197)
Is that what El Lider told you? Pay more attention to the map its pretty obvious.
By your logic, YB and DB are 2v1’ing SoS this week. So obviously we can’t tell how strong/weak they really are.
Nice story.
As for the guilds, yes SG may leave but AFAIK, they haven’t yet decided where they will go, so they are staying for now. As far as cA goes, the members here on YB merged with Qss and having a blast here. Your attempt to spread rumors has failed unfortunately. Lastly, its already “happening” because we got 3rd place in a row twice? Lol nice try. I wish you luck in whatever you hoped for
For the rest if your post, I won’t even bother replying to the kitten comments lol
Thanks, I’m great at writing non-fiction. You seem extremely defensive so I’m going to conclude that everything I’ve written was logical and made sense. If cA really isn’t leaving then I’ll take that back. Doesn’t change anything about my analysis as YB’s SEA was non existent for the past 2 weeks based on in game and out of game evidence. This indicates that it easily fair weathers which is not an attractive trait to have or the NA overtime that filled that timezone got burnt out. It’s almost certainly a combination of both.
And since you failed to provide a counterargument to my points, I must be right which I know I am anyway.
(edited by Sharpoon.8197)
You T2 servers need to get real. Stop being kitten (looking at you DB) and start thinking in the long term. In the end it’ll be the 3 servers with the best coverage that remain in T2 and the 4th will drop down the tiers. Think long term. SoS might look like it’s the weakest right now but they have a natural ocx population and come expansion it’s gonna balloon in size. Same thing with DB and their SEA. Those two servers are inevitably going to be in T2 in the future.
So now you look at FA and YB. Look at their histories. Which one, historically, has been stronger? Which ones numbers will rise more once expansion hits? Which one has better coverage right now? And of their coverage, which one is ACTUAL coverage and not artificial coverage caused by people playing 24 hours straight? Artificial coverage diminishes faster than real coverage because of burnout.
So you set it out plainly:
- Which server has the best coverage at the moment: FA or DB
- Which server has natural off peak population: DB, SoS and maybe FA (FA ocx was massive in the past and now that they’ve absorbed all of IoJ’s ocx on two separate occasions, they can easily market their server for other potential ocx players/guilds)
- Which of FA or YB has historically had higher coverage: FA
There’s your answer. And it’s already happening. SG (i.e. their pst coverage) is leaving. cA (i.e. 50% of their SEA) is bored and transferring back to T1. That means their remaining coverage lives and dies with NA overtime. That won’t last. No matter how many days they can pull 12 hour shifts, they will always reach a point where they have to stop. And you know that’s already happening because they got 3rd place two weeks in a row.
Stop dilly-dallying. Get kitten done. You want your fights? Purge the server that brought the siege humping, over timing and ppt kitten to the tier. It helps that more than half of their NA will transfer off immediately as well.

You have to move servers to be with your friends, anet won’t raise the cap until the next free trial weekend. Also, megaservers……………………………………………….
T3 being broken is not the fault of T1 or T2. It’s the fault of a select number of guilds from low tier servers that decided to collectively bandwagon onto a T3 server pushing them to a T2 level population.
the issue is in anytime other then na prime, t2 is a ghost town, so most ocx /sea play in t1 only because it’s the place that actually has enemy players… this carries over on the weekend when ocx / sea plays during the day.
Says the guy who hasn’t played in a T2 matchup for well over a year.
Dh was stuck in bronze for a year and a half. A year and a half. Now? We recently dominated the strongest t5 server, chances are we’ll be in t4 eventually. We’re on the rise, and more transfers are coming in, because we pushed through. Every time a bunch of guilds jumped ship, our friends left and we wondered around with no com… we pushed through.
ET is as much a T8 server as JQ is a T1 server… and now sudden;y, they’re at the top of bronze.
GoM was in t8 for quite a while, they’re beating the middle t3 server (IoJ) at this moment.
IoJ and HoD were both stuck in bronze for quite a while. We used to dominate them day in and day out. Both server’s vets will almost certainly remember their matchups with Dh. They both pulled out quite a while ago and have been quite steadily able to stay in silver league.
All these servers rose up because others collapsed or got a lot weaker. The rising through ranks has the ability to give a false perception of strength and/or stability which encourages ill informed transfers and has the potential to snowball further. Not saying there’s anything wrong with that, some servers have definitely benefited from this good fortune.
Since launch multiple anet employees have told us all about how they wanna be more transparent to us (their customers) and have better communication.
So here is anet’s opportunity to prove it to us. It’s completely up to you anet whether you want to participate.
So without further adeu, let’s talk about precursor crafting
“We aren’t quite ready to go into all the details here, but what I can say is you will see a specific way to build precursor items on your way to a legendary. On top of this, you’ll also see new legendary weapons and new types of legendary gear in 2013.” – blog post from Colin Johanson
Anet knows exactly what questions we have about precursor crafting but to refresh your memories:
1)What’s currently being done about it?
2)Has it been scrapped? If so, why?
3)If not, when can we expect it?
Can we get some answers? Pretty please? I mean… it’s been 2 years.
Ehmry Bay actually has a pretty strong Oceanic crew (unless they lost it right before the tourney) and FC recently got their own crew.
If you look at it outside of the singularity of their server, and as a whole across all servers, it’s certainly not a population substantial enough because if it was they’d be in the top half of the NA tiers.
Couldn’t disagree more. All the regular WvW players on my server have had this discussion in the past and they agreed that they would quit the game before being merged with certain servers.
Everybody says this. People said they’d quit the game if ascended gear was introduced. People always say that yet they will almost certainly still be here. I’m sure there have been guilds on your server that said that but have since transferred off, as well.
I think if Anet wants to have a clear understanding on the players opinions on server mergers, they’d implement an ingame survey/questionnaire (which they’ve done in the past) to gather that sort of information as forum posts are an unreliable source for raw data.
It would make a lot more sense to remove the top tier servers since they have the largest population and make them spread out among the rest. The majority of the players on the lower tiers have been there since they started playing. Can BG say the same?
This is pretty anecdotal.
(edited by Sharpoon.8197)
You guys beat me to it. After last week’s positive discussion on siege trolls I wanted to bring up the topic of population imbalance and ideas that you have on it.
There are a couple of ideas already going in this thread:
- population caps
- merge servers
- Battle Groups
I’d like to join in this brainstorm with some questions on these. For merging servers, how do we determine who gets merged? Where would we merge them to? How do we maintain any sort of world pride or identity they have? How do we handle potentially merging with your mortal enemies?
For population caps, how do we deal with the longer queues on the worlds that can field enough people? If it is dynamic, would players be able to manipulate it? For example, our world is ahead so we all agree to not play WvW so the other worlds are capped down and can’t counter us.
For Battle Groups, Asglarek mentioned more details are on the way. I’d love to hear more.
I’m approaching this as a brainstorm. The topic is “Approaches to correcting overall population imbalance”. I know there is a related topic of 24 hour coverage but I’d like to keep that as a separate conversation for now.
Please keep this friendly, constructive and on topic. We had a really good discussion on the siege troll thread I’m hoping we can kick around some ideas and have another great discussion here. Feel free to add additional ideas that I didn’t list out but please make sure they are on topic.
Thanks,
John
Population caps: Don’t do it. Reducing the caps on WvW maps will not solve any issue because coverage is where the issue stems from. People want to be on a server that has coverage so their population inadvertently rises, thus creating the imbalance. Even if map caps are reduced, off-peak population is not big enough that the queues would be a problem anyway, especially with EotM now in the picture.
Merge servers: Could certainly work but it won’t solve the issue either. First you must understand that higher populated servers have more coverage (eg. Jade Quarry is known for their very large Taiwanese playerbase) than low populated servers (eg. Ferguson’s Crossing and Ehmry Bay don’t have a non-NA playerbase). So merging 2 low populated servers will only just create a larger populated server, which still lacks coverage.
I think there is certainly a lot of benefits to server mergers, but it won’t solve the problems in WvW unless the number of servers are severely reduced. If just a couple of server are merged, you’ll still have the same problems as now, but with less servers. Only if the number of servers are severely reduced to the point that there will be around ~12 servers for each region, will the effects of coverage be lessened on population imbalance. Because at that point I think that there will be enough active players in the game that any remaining imbalance won’t be so extreme like it is now.
If servers do get merged: I don’t think anyone would really care about having to play with their “mortal enemies”. I’ve seen plenty of former rivals eventually winding up on the same server and dropping any of the bad blood they used to have. We all play the game to have fun.
Choosing which ones to merge is easy, just take the lowest ranked ones. They have the lowest active wvw population. I’d say get a fresh start with some new servers (new names) to merge the old ones into. Perhaps let the people from servers that are about to get merged choose which of the new servers they would go to?
Battle Groups: Since it’s been stated by Anet sometime last year that WvW maps could not possibly be bigger than they currently are (due to technical reasons), you won’t be able to fit the entire game’s WvW player base into 4 maps
I’m not exactly sure if my proposal is related to Guild Logistics but it is certainly related to Guild QoL.
The problem I and many others face concerning guilds is simple: recruitment. The root cause for this problem is the Megaserver system
Proposal Overview
• Guilds are having a hard time finding players from their own server to recruit.
• This is caused by the lack of a “server only” zone in the world.
• Situation is even worse for WvW guilds which used to depend on finding players in the open world and introducing them to WvW
• Suggested solution is to un-megaserver the Major Cities
Goal of Proposal
• The megaserver system means the majority of the people on a map aren’t from your server and once a map gets full, new players who zone in (and are from your server) will get put into a new map.
• Guilds identify themselves with their chosen server. They want to play together and have members who are on the same server but it’s become a real struggle to find new members to recruit because our server mates are being separated from each other by the megaserver system
• This problem is exacerbated for WvW Guilds. WvW is a server specific mode. WvW guilds find it hardest to recruit now because of the megaserver.
• In the past, WvW guilds would recruit from Lion’s Arch and general pve and then introduce their members to WvW. Recruiting inside WvW doesn’t usually work as the players that are already in WvW are usually already in a WvW guild so it becomes a wasted effort. Guilds relied on that out-of-wvw recruitment to bring new players into WvW for their server.
• I myself am an avid WvW player and I got my first taste of WvW after being recruited into a WvW guild in Cursed Shore back in the good ol’ days.
Proposal Functionality
• My proposal to solve these issues is to un-megaserver the major cities.
• This way, servers get a place to hang out with their own and guilds have an avenue where they will be able to find potential recruits from their own server.
• Players looking to join a guild will know that there is one place they can go to find guilds on their server.
• This also maintains the megaserver system on pve maps which were the maps that originally needed to be megaserver’d.
Associated Risks
• I can only think of one negative consequence and that is that it may be confusing for less informed players to know whether the map they are on is a megaserver or not.
• My solution for that would be to indicate it on the mini map in text whether the map is a megaserver or not (like how we were notified if we were on an overflow map previously).
I would love to hear your thoughts on whether this is a workable solution and if not, reasons why it cannot be done. Please help us maintain our server communities and our guilds.
T2 is dead. There’s no saving it outside of a chunk of SoS moving up to T1 out of boredom. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet, you would think anyone remotely interested in actually playing WvW on that server would have left it by now.
Stop spreading this slanderous rumor. The only thing dead about T2 is Maguuma.
Because when a player/guild sucks at all other aspects of wvw so decides to focus on “gvg” fights, only to find that they are inadequate at that as well, they quit.
Also it was all fun when everyone was focused on the fights and running in guild groups only. Then one server decided it would be more fun running in a 50+ man zerg in all time zones. The other two server don’t have the coverage to do it themselves neither is it particularly fun to fight map blobs with just 15-20 people so they stopped turning up to wvw because as long as said server is in T2, it won’t be what we all hoped it would be .
Actually last week Kodash did massive overtime because they just wanted to win T1 once and Deso allowed them to do it. SFR has the biggest morning/afternoon population. If you had strong night team as well then the matchup will be very boring with SFR winning 50k+ every week. If that is what you want then best of luck.
Can someone link that dead horse gif please?
No. Just no. There are millions of threads that will tell you why. Go look for them. You’ll find 100 of them in the first 10 pages
The colours mean nothing. The colours associated with the gods were decided by their human worshipers.
The facets appearing as dragons are a result of re-used skins something that was very common in EotN. Heck, we saw mursaat architecture in the Cathedral of Flames. Re-used skins. Learn about them. Anet is lazy. You should know this by now.
You already stated that your ideas were not correct. No one wants to hear about things that are wrong or illogical.
Gods are not related to Dragons. Why?
Dragons have been here for thousands of years (if not longer) before the gods even stepped foot on Tyria.
Balthazar has a half brother Menzies. So does mean dragons have half brothers too? You say they both got a piece of the action. Does that mean if one got all of it, the other ain’t a god anymore? Does that mean Balthazar is only half god right now? Will that mean Primordus is only half dragon? Maybe that explains why he’s so small compared to the rest.
Dwayna procreated with a human to make another god. Does that mean dragons can do it too?
Dragons can do things the gods can’t and vice versa.
Everything you are saying is just stuff coming out of no where with no proof or any logical explanation behind them. “There are 6 orbs because that is the current natural order of magic in Tyria”….. yea….. source plz………..
If you went to highschool/college (heck, elementary school teaches you this) you’ll know that if a=b then b=a because………… do I really have to explain this?
If a=/=b then b=/=a as they are just the reverse of the exact same thing
By your logic. a=/=b but b=a (where a=dragons and b=gods). Such mathematical conundrums! Now go solve the p=np problem for us!
So when things (read again: things with an s) don’t fit our theory, our best course of action is to make kitten up? “Oh I thought I should make Lyssa the god of energy storage because everyone needs storage!”
Last I heard, crystals are a piece of a homogeneous solid substance having a natural geometrically regular form with symmetrically arranged plane faces.
Coal is an example of something that stores energy. Does that mean Kralkatorrik is also the Elder Coal Dragon?
Should I end my nonsensical ramble now?
SoR gets some more NA (or BG/JQ loses some in all timezones)
FA gets some more ocx/sea
DB loses some sea and gains some NA
I dunno about Mag getting ocx/sea because they have a gigantic eu karma train that most other servers don’t have.
Result should be a balanced Tier1-3.
Well since TC lost to FA last week, it should be pretty evident that most of the WVW players are taking some time to celebrate the Holidays with their families now (as are most people). I wouldn’t get too worked up about the results this week.
It’ll be 2-1 now.
You must be new around here… iirc TC has only lost to FA twice… ever…
Four times actually. Not like it matters, TC/FA have changed tremendously.
There’s too much toxicity surrounding the champ train. For the betterment of the game, it has to go.
Change them to elites. People who are leveling alts can still do the events for the xp/karma but the champ bag farmers will be gone.
Can I name two servers? Tarnished Coast and Fort Aspenwood!
Both servers are incredibly stable with great communities. They’ve both been at that T2 spot since the beginning of the year and have remained there. They both served as the T1 gatekeepers, successfully stopping two bandwagon servers from achieving their T1 goals (Kaineng and DB).
Most of all, they took part in what I think is the greatest server rivalry ever! TC-FA rivalry was amazing to experience, from the ingame to the out-of-game stuff that happened. Then there’s this
Yea for NA the insane queues are exclusive to T1.
Not sure what the situation is in EU.No, the insane queues are exclusive to Jade Quarry.
SoR/BG queues are 5-20 minutes, JQ queues are 2+ hours.
I’m on SoR. There’s no need for lies. I’ve seen the qq in hotm. I’m not complaining about the queues though, I can do other stuff while waiting
Yea for NA the insane queues are exclusive to T1.
Not sure what the situation is in EU.
It’s not the fact that they’re being over-populated due to them being T1 or the Season, it’s the Achievement-Hunters from PvE.
Even Tier 4 servers are getting it.
Doubtful. As of about an hour ago, Maguuma had 1 map queued, the others were open.
On subject. Sure give them free transfers to bronze league, but don’t give them free transfers back. They knew this was coming, for the most part.
Look at what time it is. Of course T4 servers won’t queue maps at this time of day but once prime time hits they will. I’ve heard servers as low down as HoD have been queuing maps. Lots of achievement hunters out there.
Go Yak’s Bend go!! You guys are doing great so far! I guess BP’s coverage might catch up once the week starts but I’ll be rooting for ya
DPS you should go back to FA. They’re in silver league after all (what you wanted). Help them beat SBI!
The queues will die down after this week. It’s the initial rush and all the pve players are out trying to get their achievements. Once they get it done they won’t be setting foot in wvw again.
Calm down and ride it out. It’ll be over soon (except for T1 servers).
As far as transfers go, it is what it is. You can talk smack about us being a “bandwagon” but, we have experienced both sides of the coin. Can you say the same? Dropped from kitten t5, and then rise back up to t2?
Dragonbrand, is that you?
The only reason NSP is in silver is because we have more players (than HoD/Kain) that place their pride over their enjoyment of the game. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
Our only serious WvW guild (Os), knew that bronze was where we belonged, even though they wanted to be in silver for the competition. Some ignorant people flamed Os for this decision (which was a completely selfless one), so Os took us to silver to prove themselves to said people.
I’d say it’s some consolation to know that the NPS’ers that wanted us in silver are going to be getting their faces beaten in, but it’s really not. I won’t be able to enjoy my favourite aspect of the game for 7 weeks unless I leave my home server, which I have gotten very attached to.
This entire “WvW season” thing was a horrible idea, and is only rivaled in horribleness by the fact that Anet gave people so much time to destroy their own servers via transfers, stacking, throwing, and the results of differing opinions on those topics. I for one know that NSP was split between people who wanted bronze vs silver, and we risked losing multiple guilds and guild leaders over the whole thing.
As someone said earlier, those who see this as a challenge for NSP to overcome are delusional. The word “challenge” implies a chance of success. What’s even more ridiculous is how many NSP’ers think we fought hard and earned a rightful place in silver league. They don’t seem to understand that we are here because of illegitimate action taken by other servers who purposely lowered their WvW score to take what should have been our position in bronze.
What’s really funny is that Devon thinks he’s going to finish the Season 1 meta on NSP. The only way we are getting Stonemist Castle is if the other servers pity us and give it to us freely.
The leagues haven’t even started yet. Don’t get discouraged. You won’t be fighting the stronger servers every week. You guys are probably on par with IoJ now and during NA prime you’ll probably be on par with CD.
Windowed Mode and Eyefinity are not hacks.
Are you saying it’s intended for ACs to shoot over walls and beyond normal camera angles?
Also since you didn’t get the memo, Eyefinity or multiple monitors has nothing to do with it.
Please indicate where in the user agreement does it say that modifying your aspect ratio/ field of view through legitimate means such as windowed mode and eyefinity is prohibited.
I never said it was intended, but windowed mode and eyefinity are both accepted by anet. Using them is not an exploit. And yes, they have everything to do with it. Why would anyone be stupid enough to use an actual zoom hack when they can achieve the same result through legitimate methods.
Windowed Mode and Eyefinity are not hacks.
#RIPBG2013 Quick jump ship to SoR and JQ.
I sincerely hope, that if anyone decides to leave BG (or any T1 server), they would have the decency to move to a T2 server. Balancing the Gold League is a win-win for everyone at this point. I’m sure we can all agree that 7 weeks of competitive matchups is far better than blowouts and 1v1s.
This arrangment would benefit the most people.
I totally agree with you – getting stomped is way more fun than doing the stomping. I see that you are on SBI – so am I. Have you enjoyed the last few matchups? I haven’t. I’ve barely played because we are dominating so much that its just boring.
If the leagues stay as Devon stated, get ready for more of that because we will be stomping our way through the Season. The only competition we will have is Mag and SoS/DB – but who knows what’s happening to DB, they might not even be competition anymore as well as possibly CD.
The arrangement I have outlined above is the best grouping of servers you could get while still maintaining multiples of 3. It will provide the most fun for the most people. It will give more balanced matches than any other arrangement. You have to look beyond just the numbers (or the data as Devon likes to say).
It will allow an actual competition for the champion of each league – except for League 2 which TC will win:
League 1: BG, SoR, JQ. Up for grabs.
League 2: TC, FA, DB, SoS, Mag, SBI. TC by a landslide. But most of the actual matches will be great fun and have great fights.
League 3: Ebay, CD, BP, Yaks, Kain, IoJ. Who will win that? I don’t think you can say right now.
League 4: DH, NSP, HoD, SF, ET, GoM, FC, AR, DR. I don’t know much about these servers honestly and while the edge would have to go to NSP, it seems like this won’t be completely dominated by any one server.
This is actually the best possible solution. I hope anet reads it and takes it into consideration.
TC/FA are much closer in strength to the T3 servers than they are to the T1 servers. I’m sure JQ/BG/SoR would prefer fighting each other as well, to determine an ultimate champion. They are literally in a league of their own in terms of strength so Anet should make it so.
SoS and Mag have been able to put up a good fight versus TC/FA and SBI will definitely be able to as well. These servers should be in the same league.
Personally Tier 1 servers should just be given their own WvW meta and let the other servers play between themselves that way those that want to blob and win can blob and win and everyone else can play a more European WvW style.
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/36/105
This is your server. Let’s stop being silly here.
1)This match was essentially a 1v1. DB was a no show by the middle of the week due to all their guilds jumping ship. And you should know in a 1v1 the stronger server can beat up on the weaker one much harder.
2)TC has since lost 2-3 or more guilds (all to T1 servers). So we’re getting closer to re-achieving T2 balance.
I just hope that all the guilds transferring to T1 servers will consider T2 servers instead
How about any group with more than 25 will appear as large X in their teams colour so that everyone van avoid them.
This would cause servers to run all 15-20 man havoc squads.
A large X isn’t going to stop anyone
The people that complain about those stuff aren’t the ones doing the transferring, just so you know. It’s the people that were already on that server…….
You might get servers that intentionally tank their rating to get out of being locked (T1 servers).
And what would happen if a server has a low rating but it’s full (population-wise)? Servers have population caps for a reason.
Who or what is MERC?
ISLE OF JANTHIR GOT HIM!!!!
You guys sure got a lot of TC help for that! Like 1/3-1/2 of those guys are from TC
RET’s map blob in DBBL was excessive tonight.
I don’t think you know what a map blob even means
Doesn’t SoS have a “Very High” population? How can you guys NOT get this done? O.o
The thing is… 150 stat points is, in most cases, insignificant. Assuming you have all the buffs at all times (which has been exceedingly rare so far), you’ll be maybe 5% stronger than your opponent, give or take.
35%. Three orbs is roughly a 35% increase in strength.
Don’t throw around small numbers if you haven’t even tried to do basic math yet.
What? If I have 2,000 power, a 150 point increase is 7.5%. If I have 25,000 health, a 1,500 point increase is 6%. Even if you’re giving every stat the same weight (which is silly), it’s still way less than 35%. For a character with base stats (meaning 3,664 total), the 900 point bonus from the orbs would only come to a 24.5% increase.
Notice how he says “strength” not “stats”?
While on paper this sounds like a good idea, it doesn’t really solve anything. The leagues will still be blown out by certain servers. If anything, this idea will just let 4 servers blowout the rest, instead of 2 which could be the op’s ulterior motive, being from SoS.
Firstly, this will make for more stagnant matches. I doubt FA or DB will enjoy fighting a T1 server almost every week. Two leagues will provide a larger range of mathups.
Secondly, 3 of the 4 proposed leagues will be blown out by a server. The winner of the 1st league will be determined by whichever server is paired with T2 servers the most. So it’s not really about who’s the best.
2nd league will be blown out by SoS.
3rd will be blown out by IoJ.
4th will be blown out by SF.So the other, less fortunate servers will have to put up with being paired with these guys more often, which I don’t think they would want.
Ask any of the T3-T4 servers on who’d they rather face for weeks on end, SoS or BG?
Ask FA or DB whether they’d like to face a T1 server almost every single week or the T5/6 servers whether they’d like to face IoJ more often than the current system. Or if we assume that the winner of a lower league moves up, how would you guys like stomping for 7 weeks followed by getting stomped for 7 weeks? :o

While on paper this sounds like a good idea, it doesn’t really solve anything. The leagues will still be blown out by certain servers. If anything, this idea will just let 4 servers blowout the rest, instead of 2 which could be the op’s ulterior motive, being from SoS.

[Meow], I hope you guys are finding fights while you’re on FA. Lol. I know it’s what you wanted.
[RISE], please do not consider coming back. I hope you have the patience for them, FA.
Why the bitterness?
