Since people continue to complain about legendary weapons with a limited range of stats – it’s not fine.

+1 but I think they limited it on purpose. I don’t think their are any items that offer healing power, toughness, vitality. Probably because this combination would be difficult to balance. A full HP, T, V build would end up being an unkillable juggernaut and dungeon bosses would have to be adjusted to account for them and they already hit hard enough to one or two-shot anybody that didn’t build for toughness/vitality. Players would be forced into HP, T, V builds or they wouldn’t last a second in a dungeon.

will it loose the particle effects if you transmute only stats?

I personally appreciate the options Anet gave us during the last wintersday event chain. If you didn’t want to do pve you had a pvp event to go to. I think that the jumping puzzles have become sort of a characteristic of event chains. I think it’s neat to just check them out.

I do not mind jumping puzzles, but I do not like when they are timed.

During timed jumping puzzles large Norns become surprisingly aggravating.

Thief Appearance

Hello Arenanet and fellow Guild Wars 2 players.

Been disturbed by the thief’s appearance for some time now. Why is it that Thieves looks more often like an Engineer/Cowboy than a Thief in most clothing. There’s only a few “Ninja” appearances. Where’s the Samurai? I’ve only seen 1 Samurai look and it’s the Charr – Cultural Tier 3 armor which in my opinion is the closest to the Samurai theme.

It’s funny you say that. I also find that not only do Thieves look like rangers (in my opinion), Engineers look that way as well. I made a Charr Engi and now looking at tier 3 cultural armor skins I notice they are designed for rangers…

Yeah, one time event. Literlly, one time. Besides running in to snag that rich Orichalcum node the zone is just bleh.. Nothing worth revisiting even though the theme of it and the hard work I’m sure ArenaNet put into it, there is nothing that makes that zone worth staying around. With soo much opportunity with a new zone, could there be more chain events?

The Ancient Karka may have been slain but there is no reason to avoid that nest of theirs. Same goes for those dual asuran lazer cannons. That zone would be a lot more fun if it had the events and rewards for those events to be at par with or close to Orr. Regardless of map size, there is plenty of room for events. Some ideas could be:

-[1a] Deep sea creatures are retreating from something from afar. Investigate the waters near Sawtooth bay to find traces of a monster. (You will have to locate a strange substance and “investigate” which will spawn a various sea creatures in the area in an agressive mode that you must fight for an event item to turn into the Lionguard NPC. There is a time limit to collect the items or else you fail the event.)

-[1b] Escort LionGuard NPC back to Pearl Islet to turn in the samples to a consortium researcher to learn more about these creatures. (Like any escort event, things will spawn or ambush you along the way. Mostly karka but some pirates.)

-[1c] Upon reaching the destination, npc will talk about what they found, the researcher will say they have seen this creature on a expedition trip before but can’t remember where. Then you are attacked by Young karka waves since they smell the items you have collected. Turns out karka enjoyed eating these things. (Defend the items you collected from the hungry karka. They will try breaking boxes of the items to “eat” them and become veteran Young Karka if they succeed. They will attack you if you attack them so keep them off the supplies. Towards the end, a Veteran karka layer will jump in to protect the young. If they eat all the supplies you fail the event.)

-[1d] The researcher asks you to escort him to an observation point where he “thinks he last saw the creatures”. Escort him to the eastern edge Dappled Shores, just north of pearl islet. Quick escort, very few karka attack you. Upon reaching that spot, the researcher turns out to be a Pirate Captain in disguise and calls upon his ship. Defeat the captain to dismantle his plan to control the island for resources. (He will be a Champion pirate Captain. He can call upon his ship to barrage the area with cannon balls which deal high damage and launch, and summons pirate allies of various weapons.) You fail if you do not kill the Captain within 11 minutes. Other players may swim to the pirate ship off shore, and press their action button at the anchor rope near the ship to climb aboard. Plant explosives at key points to sink the ship disabling the Captain’s Barrage skill. However many pirates will be on board and a few veterans. Planting an explosive in the hull, and at each mast takes a couple seconds and is interupted if you are hit. A Large chest is rewarded at the end if you succeed and offers items similar to Orr temple chests.

-[2a] Karka are regrouping outside Scoured plains gathering in groups around Veteran Karka Egg layers. The recent activity has been noticed by the Lionguard and they request those in the vicinity to dispatch them before their numbers are too many. (Kill the 3 populated karka areas outside of Scoured Plains camp.)

-[2b] The Lionguard are suspicious of the gatherings and seeks to discover the source. Escort the Lionguard into the hive entrance once more. (Normal escort but with only karka.)

-[2c] Upon moving towards the entrance, a Champion Karka elder will appear. Keep the Elder back so that it may not gather its young to retaket the island. (This karka elder may call upon several young karka and some Veteran Young karkas to aid it. Also it may target a foe, and then pull them in every once in a while. The karka Elder will move towards the Asuran lazers and seek to destroy them. It moves pretty slowly but if the group cannot deal enough damage to keep the Elder at bay, it will move forward without being able to be pushed back. Players an either stay in front of it dealing damage or make use of the Asuran Lazers every minute or so which will deal high damage. If the Elder Karka reaches the Lazers, it will quickly destroy it and then move to the next one. If both lazers are destroyed, you fail the event and it jumps far away on top of the hive. If you succeed, a large chest reward for the world event is rewarded with items simliar to regular 70-80 world event chests.

That zone really lacks mechanics such as events. They could’ve added new dungeons and merchants with unique weapons. Sure that would require more work but it would make Southsun Cove an actual destination as opposed to (an empty) zone on a map.

here are some simple things that for some reason aren’t in-game already
1. feature to see fps in-game without having to go on options.
2. feature to see Ms/latency ingame.
3. make it so we’re able to preview items on tradepost.
4. mini pet slot and also make it so we can summon minis without opening inventory.
5. secondary talents for people who like to wvw and pve.
6. secondary armor slots also for people who like to wvw and pve, or just enable macros/addons.
7 make favourite dyes shared across the account.
8. decent haircuts for norn males.
9. add the effects of weapon on preview.
10. dungeon finder or remove the spam thing for chat.
11. in-game tickets to instantly report.

Only thing stopping me from getting a legendary is the fact that I hate Power/Toughness/Vitality combo.

Since Legendaries are soulbound on equip anyway, why not just make it so we can choose which 3 stats it should have? Obviously excluding the ability to bring power three times, or any other duplicate stats.

I’m a guardian and I want a Bitfrost, because I enjoy full support. However, I focus primarily on Healing Power. With all the work required to get a legendary, and since we can’t trade it after using it, what’s the harm of allowing us to choose the stats. (Either via an Tempering NPC, or even an interface that allows us to do it freely?) I have my doubts about the latter, but the former would still be nice.

I’d love to have a Legendary with Healing Power/Toughness/Vitality.

Or if I went for a Greatsword, I’d use the stats my build uses: Condition Duration, Condition Damage, Power.

Sorry if this has been posted and what not.

I think that a win-win situation for Anet/player base would be a to sell a Stat Change Tool (or something of the sort) at the gem store. I wouldn’t mind buying for under $5 for a legendary. It shouldn’t make it too expensive to change the stats that way if you exchange you gold for gems. So everyone would be happy, and I bet more people would work towards legendary weapons!

Well, like I mentioned, there were a few things from the Chris Whiteside AMA that sent out alarms to me. For example, in this post

Infusions will become the vertical progression…accessible through a wide variety of different player activities…

Should we add new player levels to the game then new items within the current rarities with a shallow power increase would be viable, however we would look at doing a new system rather than defaulting to this initially.

That implies that right now they’re not ruling it out, and that it is on the table, even if it’s not happening right this instant. As an avid player, I want to help take it off of the table. We can’t just assume that it won’t happen, because if we do it just might. It’s worth speaking up about if we feel passionately about it, which I certainly do.

I don’t want an increase in the level cap!

Legendaries are suppose to take time and effort to get you cheapen the meaning of owning one if you make the lodestones a guarantee from a specific dungeon.

They take only time, time doing mindless grinding to get what you need, or to get the money in order to buy what you need. There is no real effort in making a legendary, I don’t know if anyone that made a legendary feels like they did something special, all I know is that a bot can get a legendary easier than a human, that’s how much effort is needed

Agreed. I wanted to make a point that lodestones as well as items that do not drop from mobs should’ve been better implemented. Tokens, instances, rewards, drops, you name it. They should be obtainable through a way other than doing mindless things to get the money. If I want lodestones for whichever weapon I want, I want to be able to see that I will actually get one once I complete and instance, for example.

I do not like the idea of purely relying on random chances for higher end weapons. This doesn’t mean just legendary weapons, as their gifts require mat farming for gifts anyhow. I do think Anet should implement a system and areas from which players would be able to obtain high level mats, lodestones. I think it would also support their anti-grind policy; especially if such mats would be offered as rewards for instances, or an instance would have a chest which would always contain a high end mat or a lodestone. Those would be easier to trade and would encourage the players to be in the game and actually play, making them feel closer to their goal, rather than having them do activities that have absolutely nothing to do with it.

Nope to this thread other than to have dungeons for the precusor weapon drop in dungeons since world boss drops are non existent. Legendary weapons are bad enough that you need dungeons to craft allt he pieces. We already have to farm a particular dungeon for 500 pieces of something from a particular dungeon.

Nobody gets anything for free from current system. Just place precusor weapon in dungeon drops.

It seems you do want it easier rather than hard.

Oh yeah. I want it harder because getting a legendary is too easy now! Right

This game is unbalanced and poorly designed when it comes to damage. Yes, anet, keep calling 1hit KO skill. Oh hey, subject alpha? That is a joke. Agony? Don’t even get me stared.
Let’s make a new mechanic where the player just dies, total fun.
They really need to rethink their idea of challenge. 1hko is all you find in this game

I do not want to see 1hit player kills from mobs that Anet makes. I want challenging mechanics.

I catch myself always saying that Guild Wars 2 needs a place where skilled players can go and fight for better loot, preferably legendary weapon oriented. Lodestones are a big thing for that, as they are not only required for the legendary weapons, but also for some sweet looking exotics.

It seems that fractals were such an attempt, although it seems to me that the drops and drop rates all together don’t increase or get better as the difficulty gets higher. The drops are random and to me, they make fractals of the mists seem like a grind without a particular goal once you get your agony gear.

I want to be able to go and grind my face off for a legendary in places that actually drop mats for them. Gw2 wiki says that lodestones drop from dungeons, are in chests, but I just don’t ever see that happen, and neither do people I’ve met.

I wish Anet would allow players to go and play to get rare mats or items, rather than do random dungeons hoping we will get a good drop that will hopefully sell for a good price and in return players would hopefully be able to buy something they need if it’s (hopefully) not tremendously overpriced.

The amounts of lodestones required for the high end weapons are tremendous. If a place(s) would exist where I can go and get mats for high end weapons and armor (although it might be really hard or long but conquerable), I would go and do it. I don’t want to do a hundred thousand random dungeons hoping for a few lucky drops and get the rest of what I need from the auction house. I want a guaranteed chance, that if I do something right, I can get what I need, and a place where I can get it from. I don’t want to spend more time at the trading post. I want to be in the game, getting better at it.

I do not expect such “legendary” (legendary items oriented) instances to be there tomorrow, but I think it’s a direction Anet should really consider. That would motivate a lot of players to play and achieve their goals.

No more random chances I say! Only skill and sweat!

New High End Dungeon

If it’s going to be big, hard and long. it better have really good rewards. I would appreciate dungeons that would drop more lodestones so that I can earn enough of them for a legendary weapon, without completely relying on the Black Lion Trading Post.

I think that there need to be places that would drop items otherwise unobtainable – such as lodestones. Current drop rates are a joke.

I would not mind if such place would actually require a skilled team, but at least make them drop. I have run dungeons a lot (and I mean a lot) and had only 3 lodestones (of 3 different kinds) drop. I wish I could start saving up some mats for the future legendary weapons, but the higher level items are just pretty much unobtainable for a person who doesn’t have the time to grind dungeons or mobs mindlessly, but possess the skill to get through some pretty hard stuff.

Just saying that for Anet to consider.

PUG groups are such a roll of the dice. I’ve run a lot of dungeons recently and found that the majority of the players want it quick and easy. They dont group well or use there group benefitting abilities at all. They dont know the dungeons and they want to skip content a lot. And some are just plain rude.

Then every once in awhile I have a fantastic group and it makes me wish I could run everything with them. They are polite, they revive, they know how the play their profession and they know the dungeons.

As someone who has PUG’d a lot over the years in different MMO’s my only advice is dont let it aggrevate you when you get a bad group. Keep quiet, dont get engaged in a battle of words, finish up the dungeon if you think its possible with that group and move on as quickly as possible. Dwelling on a bad experience just makes things more sour.

I personally don’t complain about not getting what I want of gambling boxes, I complain about the fact that I got no choice BUT gambling if I want to have a certain item.

In fact I gave up my wish on the item because I refuse to use the way that item is distributed. So I bought none of those boxes.

I would have bought a mini pack (which might be a little bit more expensive like during halloween) with guaranteed pets, rather than having random … nothing (because I have bad luck with gambling).

I did not buy any of those boxes for that reason.

Getting All Trixx Mini Toys

Am I going to be able to get all of Trixx’s minis / mini toys? I noticed the event can be done only once per account. The gears you get (100 from an event but you need 250 for the mini) are not dropping from anything and are account bound.

How to get all Trixx’s minis if it’s even possible? I expect there to be 1 mini per different city event.

I also wish they were put in a 4-pack. I would have gotten them then, but it’s a waste if you cannot trade them or exchange the duplicates anywhere and you’re stuck with 2 of the same kind, or worse, you spent too much money to get none.

I wish the Guild Wars 2 team would stop skipping exploits by putting doors and locked invisible walls on top of the mountains in CM for example, instead of making dungeons ridiculously difficult.

I say that because nowadays, if I want to pug a run, all I see is people skipping, and that’s not something I want to do. Some people leave after the first 2 deaths if we kill things as they are supposed to be killed.

I want loot and bosses I can defeat with random people if my friends aren’t online or don’t want to run a dungeon with me.

I think that you can make your character lean towards tanking or healing.

However, because of Guild Wars 2 dynamic combat system, you probably will not be able to stand in one spot and just take it to your face, like you would in a generic mmo.

I can pretty much do around 10-20 gold per day by running dungeons, doing events.

I dont know what are you talking about here ..

3 paths of AC can give you around 4 gold, just dont skip anything.
And farming in orr gives you stable 1,2-2g per hour just by doing events, dropping rares, selling the rest.

So if I do for instance 6 dungeons per day = 6-8 gold
+
If i farm another 5 hours in orr = another 6-12 gold

When you drop exotic, you can make even more … Come on, only becaues you cant make 100g per day there is no reason to complain here.

Wow. I have never, ever gotten even 3g from AC. All paths. No skipping.

I do think that as a casual player, I have to go out of my way to earn money for things that don’t drop. I call that grind. There are things in this game that don’t drop from mobs.

I realize I don’t HAVE to buy it, but I want it because for some reason Abyss is black and black is a dark gray (or so it seems). My point was it would nice to see these drop rates increased so all players (not just rich ones) could customize them the way they want sooner.

Fixed it for you. Being a person without Abyss, Celestial, or any other fancy dyes on his main, I’d say no to this suggestion. Like every other cosmetic feature in this game is designed, work for it.

I don’t want to “work for it.”
I want to actually play the game, instead of working for things. Especially since it seems that “working for things in a game” is what Anet is making me do more and more.

How much time do you actually spend “playing” in Guild Wars 2 now?

Things become harder to reach for players, and not in a good way. It is a lazy man’s way to decrease drop rates, without providing sufficient places to grind for them (hello Anet’s policy!). Ridiculously low drop rates lead to grind, because many people aren’t able to afford items listed at the Black Lion Trading Company. Not everyone is here to play the auction house game (where you get your dyes from now).

As a person who loves to collect dyes and mess with color combinations, I am simply no longer able to do that. I have x6 amount of dyes unlocked from drops on my first character, as compared to my newest (already almost lvl 80) ranger.

I no longer get anything other than common dyes.

Recently I had to start selling my unidentified dyes for profit, so I could buy the colors I want. It’s really expensive. I don’t even want to think about setting myself a goal such as a Bifrost, as the market is ridiculous at the moment.

From getting my character 1-70 I got around 4 dyes. I gathered in every area I’ve visited. I really wish they would do something about the unidentified dyes drops.

Get us a dye vendor (no one is going to craft their dyes, as they take insane amounts of already really expensive mats), change the drop rate, or improve the rarity chance of the discovered dyes.

DUSK/DAWN Unobtainable...

i have said this multiple times. Precursors MUST drop from at least one dungeon’s end chest (arah would be my choice). not only this will make Arah extremely lively but you can and will get one after bizillion runs (better than spending 400g).

I want a way to get my precursor as a drop as well.

Alpine Stalker - Tamable Pet

We can tame all sorts of wild cats but the Alpine Stalker is not tamable. It looks great! I wish rangers could charm it! It is located in Wayfarer Foothills (white and black tiger).

Engineer Backpacks option please

I want to have an option to show or hide (or customize?) all my skill triggered back gear such as the engineer backpacks. As a person concerned about the aesthetics of my character I find it very awkward to have them showing at nearly all times. It’s not something you incorporate in your “theme” when you make a character.

Dungeon Timer

I want to have a dungeon timer to show me when my dungeons would give me 60 tokens, since we have a 24h timer that’s “invisible”. I wish it was implemented somewhere in the future. It would make getting dungeon tokens easier.

Please Fix The "Cone of Shame"

My suggestion in this “suggestion” section is to fix the “Cone of Shame”. I really don’t think it’s supposed to look this way. It looks really strange especially from the back or side. The texture seems a bit stretched on these medium armor shoulders from Twilight Arbor for the charr race.

Anybody thinks it looks stupid? My guild does. Ha ha.

By the way, chest piece from Citadel of Flame – medium armor – on a charr character clips a lot with the tail. I wish it could be fixed.
