When trying to draw the largest player base/revenue base possible it can become dangerous to aim for a very small fractional percentage of the population.
I would rather Anet continue to seek balance of representation within the game that more equitably reflects a current cross section of the general player population.
And being an American shell shocked by all the propaganda and societal engineering enherent to a presidential election year; I would beg you on bended knee not to inject this into my one last bastion of peace/media sanity.

I’m going for HOPE and needed to kill the Vinetooth Prime. After failing a couple times with more than enough players present, I switched to Venom Share build and by extension forced 4 other players to use hard CCs.
Easy win.
So yeah I agree Anet should add a Break Bar tutorial right at the beginning of VB.
I did the work around to download the update. I saw GMKvendlf’s post and tried reverting. Then nothing worked.
I redownloaded the client. Still doesn’t work unless I manually open cider first.
Probably right that it was a beta. So many years ago. So many things nerfed that didn’t need it.

The dungeons were required to progress the story line when GW 2 first came out. That lasted about 30 seconds because of all the complaining.
Arah was left as the end because how else could you finish personal story killing Zhaitan with the original dungeon design? They would have had to rewrite/design the entire end of the personal story.
The story modes are designed 5 person. They are doable with less depending on skill level.
I remember when (way back in the beginning of GW2) dungeons were required to progress your story line. Each dungeon had an integral piece of your personal story and the main story of bringing Destiny’s Edge back together for the final push towards Zhaitan.
What if the dungeons were scaled for player numbers 1 to 5 and put back into the story line as they should be?
This could revitalize and correct the purpose of dungeons from nerfed farmfests to meaningful content once again.
The mega server bringing really neat and fun people together from around the world.
Truly the people you group up with for fractals, events or just answering a call for help are the highlights of this game.
H.O.P.E. goes really well with Bolt thematically.
That is if you play a class that can use both.
Worked a year tossing leftovers into the MF with everything else done. Then for Father’s Day one of my children that play GW2 with me bought me Zap.
Has a lot more meaning attached to it.
Legendary stuff is a choice just like Obsidian Armor in GW1. It’s prestige and work. But it also indicates a certain dedication in game.
GW2 has many more such things. And now different ways besides MF and buying to acquire.
The only thing I’m truly thankful for is all but one of the “rainbow bright” joke legendaries have an alternative now.

My questions would be:
1. Did you time until PI went off adding the additional second to the attack time over the 1.5 listed?
2. Did you add the damage possible from AA during PI execution to the FF/PS/PI overall damage?
3. Why are your numbers so much lower than wiki-PI = 1940?
4. Did you account for the 5 attacks in 1 second proc’ing some sigils? Because no AA hits 5 times/sec.
I would pay $$ just to have the music from Factions playable in my guild hall.

If you were one of the three classes NOT represented on teams in the finals then you’d have a leg to stand on.

I’ll tell who lost: Guardians, Thieves and Warriors.
It happens to me often. Most recently I was stuck in a wall in cave at Temple of Storms yesterday.
Luckily it was at the end of the match.
This seems like a tactic thatis growing in use. Fire off any type of push/knock back when target is near wall or raised area to lock them up.
HoT brought horizontal expansion, new ideas/direction, and did not kill the rest of Tyria.
It has its rough spots but show me another game that has tried for real horizontal expansion instead of the very cliched expansion adding levels for player and gear to grind for progress.
BTW I’ve been in many areas of Tyria in the last week and still had fun and saw other players doing the same.
The elite specs for the most part are a different way to play the class and are not required.
Every ranger is not a Druid, thief not DD, etc. in PvP and PvE.
Granted some classes need more work and delineation within their spec/trait lines but it is a living, breathing game with devs making changes.
You are complaining in the wrong forum. Rev/Herald is still tuned pretty high compared to thief.
And stolen skills don’t really measure up to other class’ mechanics.
The Raid wings could be like fractals.
The current difficulty could be considered level 1. After more than half of your group has completed level 1, level 2 becomes available with shorter timers, hard hits, higher boss health, etc. and greater rewards.
Simple number tweaking rather than creating more content will give everyone a chance and the elite their challenge.

ANET should have stayed with the philosophy they started with SAB, it fit perfectly.
If you wanted a SAB skin you played SAB, not WvW or PvP etc.
The new mini games having nothing to do with the new elite specializations, lore, flavor or even style wise.
Nerfs to Thief stealth and Steal has indicated that ANET wants thief to go in a new direction.
DD furthered this idea by not supporting either stealth or steal. But rather DD is moving Thief to an easier to balance combat style – Dodge.
Time to l2p.
I blame the falling oil prices and devaluation of Chinese currency.
Time to invest in precious metals… Deldrimor Steel, Orichalcum, etc.
Weapon swap sigils break this idea.
You would be able to keep your foe chilled, bleeding, blinded and poisoned with just auto attacks and weapon swaps.
To balance stealth every class should have stealth or a stealth counter (reveal skill i.e. Sick Em) according to the feel of the class. Not both (looking at you Ranger).
And opponents/allies in stealth should be able to see each other like teammates. ie. The odd “I’m wearing the One Ring” shimmer effect.
These two changes provide every class with an option/counter for when ever they face a stealth using class. And it provides better game play between stealth users. This also eliminates/negates any future wining from those who die to stealth because it now becomes a complete “learn to play” your class’ stealth counter issue.

Why not make it a fractal where the party is playing as mordrem vs the other races?
We already have the charr fractal so it should be possible.

After careful study of the Longbow, trapping Guardian “Dragonhunter”; I believe thieves will get a scepter in the off hand and be named Jester!
All skills will revolve around new channeled condition, hilarious laughter.
Which places target’s skills on recharge, slowly reduces stamina all while the Jester is dancing poorly and unable to do any real damage.

Recently found on a wadded up napkin, in the trash outside of PAX.
Thief Rifle Skills:
1. Bayonet -Stab .5 damage modifier
-Stab .6 damage modifier
-Slice .4 damage, 1stack/1sec bleed
2. Patriot Charge -600 dash (+10% move speed), end with Slice
3. Stock Block -10 second rooted stance, block next direct attack and counter with stab
4. Miss Fire -Smoke Field centered on you blinding you and all allies 1500 range
5. But Stroke -Stun Opponent .1 sec, 4 stacks Vulnerability, 10 seconds on self
edit: due to OPness Patriot Charge reduced to 400 range.

I really debated posting because I had a sneaking suspicion that anything said would be taken out of context or partially quoted.
I say again nothing should be in the PS or LS that doesn’t further the story line. Logan is an excellent example of a relationship that was integeral to the story. As in why he left DE hanging high and dry.
I also feel that parts of Jory and Casmeer are important when Jory is wounded. It adds a good personal touch.
As said earlier most of the same sex relationships seem forced and not really integral to the story line.
That being said I would rather any relationship be it hetero, kitten , or other not be presented to us unless it is integral to the storyline.
As a parent with children I encourage to play this game because it is a rare jewel of mostly safe content, I would hate to see social engineering/agenda be the motivator of any relationship in a game.
500 Chef and ascended dyes is a great idea but Anet would have to remove some RNG from crafting dyes.
Seriously no other crafting is a crap shoot of what tier you get. Imagine putting orichalcum parts to a berserker great sword in and getting a carrion iron dagger out???
Why does Dye Crafting have to be this way?
All that great reminiscing made me miss beautiful and amazing Cantha all the more :-\
But still love GW2 and can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in HoT!

It’s been a week since updates started and I am still experiencing multiple crashes a day. The crash occurs after entering the playable area. Sometimes right away, sometimes minutes into playing.
I’ve turned off the streaming download, always waiting until files appear to be loaded from initial screens. I also have all settings on default and recommended for graphics etc except streaming download.
The strangest part is it locks the game out so a message/ticket to Anet can’t even be generated. This led me to believe it was my system having difficulty. But I ran tests and fixes and found no changes from 10 days ago when GW2 was running fine.
Any guesses?
I’ve tested this with all Thief, Mesmer, and Guardian shadow steps/target teleports; since pathing update for those skills they require a minimum distance, even Steal. Which seems the most ironic of all, a thief not picking your pocket because he is too close.
Apparently Anet intends these skills to be used from distance and now they have to be.
