This is indeed the best MMO on the market if you consider that you can stop to play for 2 month (like i did) and still be competitive.

but for some player this is also the bad side of the game.

It could be awesome and i would probably come back and play this beautiful game.
but it could also be awful, like introducing new content before fixing the old one.

What’s the downside of having ppl testing your change for free?

OFC your QA team will continue to test it too but i believe a test server could be very helpful for you and the playerbase.

I am not a fanboys but i will give Anet every chance of this world because despite of some issue or design flaw this is the best MMO i ever played and believe me I have played many.

it need a lot of fix and there is an huge room for improvement but guys we cant deny we have a piece of art installed on our PC

yeah since the patch i have started playing other games, as for example today i played dcuo in the morning, then after launch, and a weekly break from gw2, I decided to go for a LFG fractal lvl 7, got several issue with player being kicked from the instance, semi rage quit and right now I am installing l2 for the sake of old memories

Most likely tomorrow i will log to GW2 and lvl up a thief alt or do some pvp.

no one is forcing you to play this game every single hours of your spare time. If you get frustrated stop for a while, it helps.

hey guys, this bug is a showstopper in my book.
The first 3 days of FOTM i reached lvl 7, then when i realized a DC could compromise any effort made I just stopped playing FOTM.

there are plenty of stuff to do in this game, don’t get caught in the hamster wheel of rage

that boss can be painful, but as long as your group go ranger and kite it’s not that bad. put some non squishy player on the switch someone who can take a bomb in the face whiteout being killed

@stof, well mate you are 100% right, but we all know that melee friendly bosses are just a dream..i had to respec my warrior to GS/Rifle while i would pretty much prefer to run dual axe, GS. it sucks but what can we do?

The fractals design could possibly be the bigger flaw/downside of this game for a newcomer who decide to join GW2 in 1 month.

Between that time players will reach Fotm lvl 40 and none of them will do a lvl 1, even for a friend or a wife since they have done them 1200 times already, and fun probably it’s not the reason of why at that point.

I could suggest something, allow difficulties to be selected based on who has the highest tier (10,20,30 ecc)

Example:
If players A,B,C and D got lvl 2 unlocked and player 0 has lvl 12 unlocked the full party end up in a lvl 10 instance.(Tier 1)

Once they complete the Fotm player A,B,C and D will unlock the lvl 3 and player 0 will get an “Mentor Token” used for buy cosmetics or anything else that wont require you too much time to develop.

This way none of them (Players A,B,C,D,0) get boosted in any way and maybe we could encourage highest tier players to actually help people, because as we know human race rarely do something whiteout getting anything back.

Said that I am playing the game since release, I supported the game since then and I genuinely think GW2 has the potential to be the best MMO ever made.

I want this game to be successful just like you even if there is no money coming in my pocket.

At is current state fractals system it’s discouraging new players to join your game.

I see what you did there, 2 options:
1) you guys believe that eventually everyone will reach the same difficulty level and be happy, what you haven’t considered is: how many of the new players joining has the patience to do it. Frustration is what really kills MMOs.

well the OP had a nice idea, but i would like to emphasize that " nice looking gear" is subjective, clear example, the light armor skin in the game shop, someone MUST have trough it was cool, while when I look at it I immediately close my eyes and start to scream.

The exact same thing happened with Star Wars Galaxies. The exact same thing. The best part about it? The patch that killed that game was also released on November 15th. =D

It’s almost like Anet scuttled their AAA MMO as a tribute to SWG. lol It only furthers my belief that the devs were forced into this by some suit clad imbecile and they are taking every opportunity to let us know “It’s not our fault”. =D

dude you got it all, been working for a while on gaming industry myself and that’s it 90% of the time, games should be developed and published by developers only, those marketing “genius” they can only please 7 years old minded people.

Anyway i think Anet is in that 10% category, have faith this is part of a bigger picture

well funny is, the more price rises, the more you will have to pay. the more you will have to farm, greed, greed everywhere.

As a community we should instantly set every single stuff price to it’s current 5% = everyone rich, no one has to farm, no bots, no goldseller, no hacked account, everyone happy.

yeah OP, you are totally right VOIP is needed, get a guild run it’s the best way to enjoy the content. We did d1 twice with 0 wipe. Could not have been possible whiteout TS

personally i don’t think i would run with pugs at least for 2/3 weeks when everyone start to know what they are supposed to do.

unlocked D2 but could not complete since 1 of the guild mates had to do lvl 1.
So we did d1 twice

those new instance require teamwork, they will be hard with random ppl.

1) Don’t go in full glasscannon, if u die u don’t dps.
2) Use TS, Mumble or any other program, it is essential.
3) Run with your guild is 150% recommended.
4) if you run with pugs you seriously need someone who already did those dungeon.

BTW best dungeon experience ever.
Epic, I am truly impressed.
The one in the snow was sooo Game of Thrones.

Best pve experience so far.
AMAZING design atmosphere and mechanics.
Genuinely awesome.

I’m greatly disjointed in how most of you forum gamers are behaving. Yeah sure the new armor rank has its ups and downs but why are ya’ll acting like it’s the end of the world?

first off most people would have stuck with a dedicated pve game if they wanted to grind items like its their job. there are already several fully fleshed out games dedicated to grinding items that cater to the no-lifer crowds making them feel like spending their life in front of a monitor is rewarding in some way.

and secondly, its been 3 months and they already have the next ‘tier’ of gear released. do you honestly think this will be the end of it?

There is always sPvP, by the way.

Mate, i play warrior/ranger on Pve, WvW

Warrior is by far one of the best profession for WvW and they are literally awesome on dungeon compared to rangers, Warrior is not only in league with the rest, it is also awesome.

we do have bugs, but in term of balance i don’t think we can really complain.

dunno cant really think about using spirits right now.
From now on I will strictly play underwater only with my ranger.

we have been posting TONS of constructive feedback guys, the patch note released tonight proved that whatever we write they will (ofc) do whatever they want.

Playing a warrior, Valkyrie/Knight setup, he does more damage than my ranger full berserker and my pet together.

running with 24k hp 2k toughness vs 15k hp and 900 toughness of my ranger.

just finished path 2/3 they worked fine…apparently we just got the problem on the first path

Hello there we just finished the 1st path of AC exp, we killed everything and everyone on the way but we didn’t get the final chest for completion.

The gap between exo/ascen is MINIMAL, so not a MUST for WvW or anything, just for the new dungeon, and guess what? you will get the gear while progressing trough it.

This is a common misconception. The STAT gap is minimal. The exotic item’s impossibility to have infusions and counter agony is huge. The new dungeon is the only place where agony is incflicted FOR NOW, but things will change.

They haven’t developed a whole new system to use it only in the fractals. We’ll see agony in many upcoming patches.

I disagree, 8% is substantial increase in my eyes.
But I do agree that lack of Infusion slot on Exotic – or any other type of gear for that matter – makes the gap between Ascended and Exotic even higher, especially with time as more gear, more tiers and – probably – more Agony will be added.

Ok but why worrying about something we don’t know yet? I personally don’t see any reason to care about agony gear if not for that specific dungeon, if the agony would decrease condition damage in pvp, ill be mad myself, but for now is just related to that specific dungeon, let’s see how it goes.

but yeah probably if they just remove that +8% from ascended gear everyone will be happy.

I am running fire on Longbow and air on Shortbow, as I use SB pretty much only for 1vs1, and LB when i fight group of enemies or from a safe long distance. Basically 1200 to 1500

well I must say that, sadly but true, this is the very best way to play a ranger on 1vs1.

well i was able to reach 27k of damage with entangle, ofc never sow that damage, the tooltip is totally wrong, since i tried vs a golem and it only “consumed” 3/4hp over like 20 seconds
