(preview can’t deal with it)
We really need an edit of this with “I AM VERY PLEASED” changed to “DEAL WITH IT”.
It’s very annoying. Look at PvP, there’s no solo format at all. In PvE, there’s no way to make cash solo beyond farming or TP flipping. Farming isn’t really practical and TP flipping isn’t really playing. :P
I really do not understand your PvP complaint. No solo format? This doesn’t sound like a complaint about the lack of dueling. It sounds like you want duel tournaments. Did you forget PvP is a team game? Or are you suggesting they simultaneously balance classes for both team PvP and duels?
Farming in Orr with a zerg is essentially soloing. You don’t need to group or even talk to anyone. Just follow the zerg.
If you really want to play (outside of personal story) without any sort of player contact at all, I’m sorry, but you’re playing the wrong game. Maybe you should try something that’s, you know, not multiplayer. Don’t buy apples if you were looking for oranges.
The problem now is that the trash are simply not rewarding enough to kill. Simply increasing the rewards on them creates the risk of players entering a dungeon, killing some trash, and resetting, essentially skipping all but the trash. Putting barricades that prevent the player from advancing until the trash is cleared is forcing the players to do something that they clearly don’t want to do.
Some people suggested granting bonuses for vanquishing (100% clearing) the dungeons. Vanquishing grants no rewards if the dungeon is ended prematurely, and it can become tedious in dungeons where there are many enemies scattered in remote areas. If vanquishing is too time-consuming, players won’t even bother doing it.
An easy solution to this is to provide a small (perhaps 0.1%) Magic Find bonus for each enemy killed. Champions could give more (perhaps 1%). This has the effect of not granting improved rewards from the trash themselves but the potential rewards from the rest of the dungeon. For the MF bonus to have any worth, you still have to play the rest of the dungeon.
As it is, there is no reason to fight the vast majority of trash. A MF bonus provides significant enough of a reason (but not too much of a reason) without forcing players to do so, such as with doors or perma-aggro enemies.
Personally, I find the mad dash and hide and seek part of skipping very enjoyable while spamming skills at mobs dull.
That’s a very embellished description of holding W while turning the mouse every now and then.
I would not mind having dungeons designed entirely around chasing down a running boss while dashing through a gauntlet of mobs and traps that involves more finesse than DPS the crap out of everything.
Imagine a longer, bigger, prettier Mad King’s Clocktower where you also have to chase down one single boss mob to complete and dodge occasional patrol packs.
How about a last stand dungeon of tireless waves of dredges surging over a keep wall you must defend utilizing kiting, stairs, terrain, and trenches.
These are much more fun than the current design of forcing you to fight trash.
Yes, that would be more fun, but unfortunately the dungeons weren’t designed that way. They were designed with the apparent intent of the players fighting through the trash mobs, but the fights are just so boring that people don’t want to do them.
Ideally, there would be dungeons with trash mobs that are fun and rewarding to fight along with different dungeons that have more of a chase/escape aspect. This would solve the problem where one or two players in a group are upset because they enjoy taking their time and fighting everything. Everyone picks the style they like instead of arguing about which is the “right” way to do it.
it’s simply put makes the dungeons uninteresting, boring and blend to run..
It’s just your opinion. For many people killing trash mobs is uninteresting, boring and blend to run
That would be the problem. Killing the trash mobs is boring and unrewarding, but skipping them is also boring and unrewarding. In other words, the parts between boss fights are so badly designed that most people simply don’t want to do them.
Literally every dungeon other than FotM works like WoW dungeons. Did you play WoW before dungeon finder? If not then I’m sorry you’re too shy to even /join someone who is LFM. That’s right, you don’t even have to ask them for an invitation. You just type /join and their name.
And what exactly is your complaint? That you don’t like people? Or is it that you can’t click one button to be automatically placed in a group without the need for any socialization, coordination, or thought whatsoever?
Thieves should get the Revealed debuff if either they attack or are hit when in stealth.
Breaking stealth on damage, is a massive nerf. AoE and channeled abilities hit in stealth VERY easily. Shots already in the air when the thief stealth still hit. And there have been numerous times I’ve shot at air and watched a thief come out with bleeds on him.
Not to mention any sort of bleed, burning or poison would INSTANTLY break stealth. Thieves only have ONE condition remover involving stealth. ((Unless traiting))
Also in closing it seems like there are ALOT of WoW players here who want stealth to act just like Rogue’s stealth.
That’s not actually what I’m asking for, although I should have been more clear. They should receive the Revealed debuff upon exiting stealth if they were hit during stealth.
Alternatively, show damage numbers (perhaps with the exception of dots) when hitting a thief even when they’re in stealth. Damage should not break stealth, but a player should know if they hit an invisible enemy. The original plan was to make thieves flash momentarily upon taking damage in stealth like spies in TF2. If I had to guess, I’d say they removed this because of technical issues and not balance. If they brought it back, they could probably get rid of Revealed altogether.
The counter to stealth, then, is to minimize the innate benefits of stealth by tracking/anticipating and attacking the stealthed player, and maximize the innate detriments of stealth by not allowing the thief to get “free” combat downtime and actually have to make the choice to remain in stealth for the benefits.
In short, if you stay aggressive and continue to attack your opponent while they’re stealthed, you’ve just turned stealth from an advantage to them to a disadvantage to them. They can’t attack you while stealthed or risk losing the benefits, but you can attack all you want. They’re essentially dazing themselves for 2-3 seconds at a time.
People believe stealth is so powerful because they often let the stealthed player simply get “free” time with no applied pressure to do whatever they want. Against an intelligent player stealth becomes a choice and potential liability where you trade the ability to attack for some benefits, a major tradeoff.
Yeah, man, just keep swinging at the air. That really turns stealth into a disadvantage for a player who’s already long gone.
Thieves in stealth cannot be attacked reliably with ranged attacks because they can’t be targeted. They also can’t be attacked reliably with melee attacks because all it takes is a single dodge roll to move out of melee range. Being unable to attack for the duration of stealth isn’t much of a disadvantage since you aren’t really getting hit during that time.
In a fight against a thief, you’re fighting on their terms, no matter what. If things aren’t looking so great for them, leaving is effortless.
Thieves should get the Revealed debuff if either they attack or are hit when in stealth.
After 20 tries, I feel like I might as well just farm the gold for the Toymaker’s tonic instead. If I had been saving my gold towards that instead of on wads and drops, I’d probably already have it by now.
How about making the frame plus 20 or so tonics gives you the endless one? It’s really unfair as it is.
I just went through the last of my gold attempting to make one of the endless tonics, and have nothing but the worthless single-use tonics.
Every time the recipe failed, I felt myself becoming increasingly depressed. It was like the happiness was being physically pulled out of me. I walked up to the forge with a smile on my face. I walked away ready to cry. When I ran out of materials and gold… I just didn’t want to play anymore.
I’ve been severely penalize for nothing more than being unlucky. When ArenaNet designed these systems, they did so in order to ensure the rarity of items. What they never considered was the effect it would have on individuals. Some people spent real money on these things. If you buy a booster pack for MTG, you’re guaranteed a certain number of commons, uncommons, and rares. If you buy the equivalent of a booster pack in GW2, you might get a mythic rare, or you might get nothing but worthless lands.
For items that are tradable, I can understand (but strongly disagree with) this decision, but the endless tonics are account bound. Why is it done this way? Why? The chance seems high enough that most people will get the items and thus the items won’t be rare, yet low enough that some people will lose everything and gain nothing. Why? Why randomly shut out players?
This is the first time I’ve been depressed because of this game. Come to think of it, I can’t remember the last time I felt this way because of any game.
You can get giant presents from Tixx and the JP. Next are you going to complain that higher level monsters drop higher level gear?
There’s no known way to change the mini back into a frame. It’s possible that more frames will be available tomorrow, but there’s been no confirmation.
“I haven’t taken leave of my senses!”
“Got any charr iron?”
“And I used to think Iron Legion officers were abusive.”
I like that characters say things, but there should absolutely be none of them within an earshot of the trading post, the bank, or crafting stations.
I also agree with this. I actually think almost everything about the commander system is very poorly designed, from the arbitrary 100g requirement, to it being character-based, to the fact that only commanders can see other players’ supply, to the fact that joining a squad doesn’t really seem to… do… anything… at all. It supposedly gives a chat channel, but I’ve never seen this used because it’s almost always better to talk to your entire team instead.
However, I don’t see them abolishing the commander system any time soon, and I also don’t see them adding this alongside squads since it would undermine and interfere with them. Instead, I think this idea should be used to improve squads. Basic features like being able to see everyone’s health is great, but here are some other features I’d like to see.
Allow commanders to assign players within a squad to groups, much like the warband system in Warhammer Online. There is a window that shows all 40 members of the warband divided into 8 groups of 5, and the leader can drag and drop players between groups.
Letting the commander assign different waypoints to different parties would be very, very good for doing things like assaulting a tower, keeping pressure on another, and sending a small team to capture supply camps. As it is the only way to do that is to either coordinate with several commanders (not really feasible on many servers) or just… ask nicely.
I also really want this.
If you use a ranged weapon without a target, the shots are aimed right at the center of the screen, which is completely obscured by your character. There isn’t usually a practical reason to do this, but when an enemy vanishes, all of my shots are fired directly into the ground. I can usually hit an invisible enemy if I aim right where it is, but this is a little more than difficult when I have to aim at a point that’s always behind my character.
I want it back, too!
If I want to see how light armor looks on a human female, I don’t want to have to actually make a human female! I’ve been considering making an elementalist. I’d probably pick the race based on armor. Now I have to actually make the character to check this? This is massively inconvenient.
No, preview websites absolutely will not work for this because I can’t change the dyes or customize them at all, and many of them are incomplete or out-of-date.
Revert this arbitrary and completely unwarranted change!
Put. It. Back.
This was an incredibly bad decision. I like to go into HotM and just flip through all the armor to see what I like. Seeing how it looks on my existing characters helps me decide what race/gender I should make new ones. Now if I want to see how light armor looks on a female human, I have to actually make a female human scholar.
All because of a little bit of clipping? Are you serious? I guess whoever made this decision has never played a charr. If they did, they’d probably either remove the entire race or restrict them from wearing any armor.
I agree completely with the OP. I’m pretty baffled by the people saying that it “wouldn’t work” if they substituted another race. Of course it wouldn’t work. All the events have been designed for asura. They would have to change the entire context, too.
Why not make the “Santa” a jolly norn (Saxton Hale?), and he has an asuran krewe (with their own motives) making toys for him? What about a charr warband that decided they want to have a bit of fun for a change? A sylvari whose Wyld Hunt is to deliver toys across the world?
There are so many other possibilities. Why make an asura lead the event again?
EDIT: The more I think about it, the more I think they should have looked to pagan inspiration and had this event lead by the norn, possibly alongside the sylvari. Just LOOK at the Wikipedia page on Yule. If that doesn’t look like a norn holiday, then the norn simply don’t have holidays.

thats only our opinion. WvW is PvP, but its true is not fair and unbalanced.. but thats the nature.
I guess you never played in trully organized guild focused on open PvP.. because then you should see it a bit differently..
It’s not my opinion…
Right. It’s not your opinion. It’s simply wrong.
Since the definition of PvP wasn’t enough for you, here’s additional evidence: http://i.imgur.com/sw2ol.png

There’s a little space for the leaderboard in HotM. It’s only a placeholder, but the intention to finish it is obvious. It’s probably coming at the same time as their rental servers.
Why do they even HAVE a loading screen during matches? The PvP maps are not very big. Adjust something to prevent it from loading during a match. I can’t think of any other game that reloads the map every time you die.
You’ve completely missed the reason why careful strategy isn’t needed outside of dungeons. It has nothing to do with the lack of group dynamics. You even admit yourself that dungeons do require a great deal of coordination.
In the open world, explicit grouping isn’t required. You share credit with everyone taking part. If you used this system in any other game, even those with strongly typed classes, you’d have the same sort of zerg fest you have here.
You either get antisocial behavior like kill-stealing (which causes players to avoid each other) or you lose the need for strategic team play (a result of causing players to come together). You can’t have them both.
How is using an English word on a North American server equivalent to going to France and saying something offensive in French?
It’s equivalent to going to France and saying an English word that is offensive in French >.< Are you being purposefully obtuse? Regardless of the server (particularly NA ones) All languages are important. Remember that all countries not denoted a specific region are automatically set to play in the NA servers…
So you’re talking about going to France and saying something offensive in English. That would certainly exclude “bite”. In any case, going to France is analogous to playing on a French server. If you’re French and you come to the US, not many are going to care if you’re offended by something that Americans say casually.
If they removed all the ambiguous words from the filter, there wouldn’t be a filter. Refer to the Anus as a name statement earlier. It’s certainly not offensive in some languages…therefore it has multiple interpretations and is ambiguous. Just because your interpretation of it is fine, does not mean that it is not offensive.
And the problem with this is what? So Anus doesn’t get blocked right away. The guy is still going to get his name changed and a 3-day ban for taking an offensive name, assuming he’s playing on a server where his name is offensive in the designated language. If I go to a foreign server and see a guy named Anus, I don’t have a lot of room to complain.
Most “offensive” words aren’t blocked at all, and players who chose to use them anyway got slapped with name changes and, in most cases, 3-day bans.
And as I posted on the first page, the filter isn’t even working as intended: https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/15649/a_substring_of_your_name_is_offensive_in_a_foreign_language.png
We could just request an option of “Click this checkbox to allow any and all name choices (Unless already taken). I hereby understand that should I create a name that would normally be filtered and someone reports the name as offensive, my account will be permanently terminated.”
Hard mode engaged.
Or they just remove ambiguous words such as “bite” from the list and issue name changes and/or bans when appropriate, as they do for countless other names.
How is using an English word on a North American server equivalent to going to France and saying something offensive in French?
In case anyone is still wondering at why the OP wasn’t allowed his name, here is a post from just a few days after launch.
It also answers people’s concerns much better than our… ahem… CC has managed.
I saw a post where a guy wanted to use his real name, which happens to be Anus. But he is not allowed to use it in a game name. I’m guessing you can assume why….His name is a foreign language but censored for American words. Do you think that’s okay?
That’s not the same thing. At all. And you know that.
Medium armor class? Hope you like trench coats.
Server full doesn’t mean there are too many people online, it means there are too many people signed up to that server, both on and offline. You have to wait for someone to transfer out or Anet to add more capacity before you can join.
I don’t believe it works this way, even though that way makes more sense.
I’ve told several people trying to join my server (Gate of Madness) to try joining before noon on a weekday (during off hours). All of them have been able to join successfully.
Scientific? No, I very specifically clarified it was people I know.
Hung over? No, most folks I know were not hung over.
I am still waiting for you to present an actual fact though. An actual fact to support the argument that the game is dead and the sky is falling, because at a specific time on, on a very specific server, at a very specific dynamic event, the game is dead.
Brilliant deduction my friend.
We already know your definition of “dead” and “alive” are dubious at best with your claim that games (more than one) you played 12 years ago are still alive.
Take a moment, if you will, to read the post just above yours. It’s by someone who is also in opposition of the OP. He explains that at the times the OP was playing, he shouldn’t expect many players to be online, even in games as populated as WoW.
Your claim that there were plenty of players online and that they all happened to have map chat off at the time isn’t holding up too well.
This is just like all of the reddit and other sites threads when everyone was claiming they were banned for no reason, just for SE to show it was all a lie.
Yet you expect us to take the OP with a great deal of non specifics serious? For all we know, he spams that crud in map chat 1000 times a day and is on half the servers ignore list. For all we know, the DE event he refers to is the intro one, and just because no one was making a new character at that exact moment in that ecaxt race on that exact server, the game is obviously dead.
Wow, this is just like Reddit. You come up with ridiculous possibilities and use them to “invalidate” your opponent’s claims. If you think he’s full of it, then why are you even posting? Every post you make bumps the thread and makes his post more visible.
(edited by Moderator)
Do I have to wait until there are less people logged in before I can MAKE a character?
This is correct. It’s a very strange system. You can’t join a server while there are so many people logged onto it, but if you’ve already joined, you can always log onto it.
The problem isn’t that there aren’t players online on a Sunday morning. The problem is that there is nothing to do in the game on a Sunday morning. He’s obviously aware of the fact that he’s playing on a Sunday morning by the very name of the thread.
I have to call shenanigans here.
The fact that at about that time this morning I had 150+ on in my guild. TP in lions arch had enough people that my high end PC took several seconds to load them all in. The fact that I did a few DE before I went into WvW and ran into 10 random players at a bare minimum per DE.
It’s nice to know you’re in an active guild, but that doesn’t address his actual problem, which is that there is so little for a solo player to do. He states it over and over throughout the thread. The primary form of content (events) are designed to be done in groups. You aren’t dispelling his concerns by claiming that there are always players around.
Most people in the thread who are opposing him are saying that he shouldn’t expect many players online on a Sunday morning. Are you calling shenanigans on them, too?
All are evidence that your broad and inaccurate claim that there is nothing to do on Sunday morning is mis-informed at best. Some would go as far as calling it a flat out lie since you put it as such a direct statement, but I personally never would, but some may.
You wouldn’t call it a lie, huh? Does “calling shenanigans” mean something different to you then?
What is there to misinterpret? Who in their right mind would complain about not many people being on in the morning? Seriously, I do not understand how you can defend this intelligence-numbing thread.
His complaint is pure and simple. There is hardly anyone online on sunday morning….well doh.
The problem isn’t that there aren’t players online on a Sunday morning. The problem is that there is nothing to do in the game on a Sunday morning because so little can be done solo. He’s obviously aware of the fact that he’s playing on a Sunday morning by the very name of the thread.
Some parts of areas, especially with rich nodes can be a bit tougher like that. Since mithril can be found in many other places, I don’t see an issue. It’s not like it’s part of completion.
You gotta think that not everything is soloable and if you encounter a situation like this, there are alternative areas to get your mats.
You now know about these places. You won’t go there solo again. Live and learn. I don’t think that they need to hand you everything on a silver platter as they say.
Some respawn rates are crazy I agree, but then again, it is part of this game and you can find ways of dealing with it. I know I have
Read the last part of my post again:
It feels like the respawn rates (for every zone) were tweaked with the expectation of a dozen players. If rich nodes are intended for groups, then make that clear by putting champions in front of them. That way I can stop wasting my time with artificial “challenges” that are impossible to determine before the fight.
If it’s not intended to be done solo, then don’t make it look like it can be. As it is, it feels buggy and broken. Learning to deal with design oversights should never be part of learning to play a game.
(edited by Shroom Mage.9410)
If it is so bad, quit and leave. Trying to grip at the rest of us via the forums is useless. Had you been on my server, I would never had heard the OP anyway, because I generally keep map chat off because of people just like the OP spamming it with complaints that no one is on. The last thing I need is my chat spammed with whiners crying about population.
I do not care what MMO you play and how many millions are or are not playing it, there will be places we do not congregate in.
Please OP remain signed out. It gets old stumbling across post such as this that are the decay of the forums, because I was doing something somewhere different, and because we didn’t flock to what ever DE you were doing to join you. (which I do not really believe you, or you would at least mention the name of the event, level, and location)
Heck, there are zones I haven’t even set foot in yet. But I guess since we all are not doing the same DE you are, we are all at fault. Let us know next time so we can all drop what we are doing and accommodate you. I apologize for having fun with my guild in WvW this morning, next time we will abandon such frivolous fun so we can go do dynamic events in PvE to take you feel crowded.
People like you are part of the problem. Why don’t you leave the forums if you don’t want to see people’s criticism? Do you come here just so you can put your hands on your ears and pretend you’re playing a flawless game?
His post and complaints were very clear and shared by many others. You can’t be helped if you choose to misinterpret them.
The funny part is I have read threads exactly like this since month one in games that are alive today that started 12 years ago.
The funny part is what your definition of “alive” is.
Don’t let it be the Titanic of MMORPGs
We already had the TORtanic.
This would be the Guildenburg.
This is a problem that can come up in Orr, but it seems especially common in completely dead zones like Mount Maelstrom.
The character I’m currently playing is level 70, and I’ve been doing things in Mt Maelstrom lately. I’d be done with the zone by now, but I usually take a break of a few days after getting frustrated. It’s very rare that I encounter another player here.
I like exploring and gathering. I probably spend most of my time with it. That said, the more rewarding nodes are essentially unattainable for me. Not because I can’t kill the monsters guarding them, but because of respawn rates. Every rich node I’ve encountered has a veteran and at least two other enemies nearby. I can easily pull one of two of the common ones and kill them with no trouble, but they always respawn during the fight with the veteran. Attempts to pull him are futile because of the density of enemies in the area and the strong risk of leashing him, resetting all of my progress.
This happened in two distinctive areas. One was at a rich mithril node in the krait area. The node was in a cave at the bottom of the water. The krait along the way are very annoying (stun, poison, bleed) but no real trouble, but the veteran is able to summon a shark that deals an intense amount of damage very quickly. Alone, I would be able to beat him, but the several other krait in the cave respawn too quickly. There are two that are right next to him. One of them is linked to him, so I always kill the other first. By the time I kill the second one, the first one has respawned, and when I kill the first again, the second has respawned. After doing this for a while and eventually retreating several times, I gave up.
Another area this happens is in the volcano. There are two mithril nodes and a rich platinum node in a group. Near them are two red oozes, several fire imps, and a veteran fire imp. The ceiling in the area is very low, causing the veteran (which is larger than the rest) to clip through it and reset very often. I spent some time pulling and fighting, but when I would pull one or two imps to kill them, around the end of the fight another imp would spawn near me. While killing this third imp, one or both of first two would respawn. I can kill them pretty quickly, but it’s never fast enough.
I also realized that even if I managed to kill everything I once, I wouldn’t even have enough time to harvest the rich node before they all reappeared.
It feels like the respawn rates (for every zone) were tweaked with the expectation of a dozen players. If rich nodes are intended for groups, then make that clear by putting champions in front of them. That way I can stop wasting my time with artificial “challenges” that are impossible to determine before the fight.
There’s just very little variety with medium armor. If you don’t like trench coats, you’re out of luck. I went through all of the medium armor more than once looking for just the right look on my engineer, and only two sets don’t have coats. Unfortunately, both of these sets show ridiculous amounts of skin on females. On males they’re actually just more coats. Also, one of them was human cultural armor.
Heavy armor has a lot more variety, but you’re also out of luck if you don’t like skirts, as there are only about two or three sets that have pants instead.
And light armor? Well, you get plenty of variety, but it all just looks terrible. Also, there are no hats.
That’s terrible on so many levels. It should only be visible on mouseover, just like your level.
Yeah, “full” is just the current logged in population, so they’re not full all the time. It’s kind of confusing since it only applies to people transferring. Once transferred, you don’t even see the server population.
Try transferring before noon on a weekday. There are hours when none of the servers are full.
I bought and played Twilight Princess knowing almost nothing about the game. It’s an enjoyable way to play. But Twilight Princess didn’t have the magic system that previous Zelda games had. Did I whine about it online? No, I didn’t even give it a second thought. In fact, I didn’t even notice until long after I had finished.
There’s a difference between playing a game without prior knowledge and playing a game with particular expectations. If you intentionally aren’t going to research something, you shouldn’t form expectations, either.
The problem isn’t how many or few players can make each item. It’s the cost of creating the item and the incentives you’re given to do so.
In real life, you can go out and buy the ingredients to make some food, but restaurants still make money by doing that for you. The cost of the food they sell you is greater than the cost of the components. Why are you paying more for it? The answer is very simple: effort. For the created item to have greater worth than the raw ingredients, there must be an effort cost.
In both WoW and GW2, the effort cost is both the rarity of the recipe (rarer recipes require more effort to acquire) and the effort required to increase your crafting skill. Increasing your crafting skill is trivial, so the rarity of the recipe ends up being the only thing that matters. Unfortunately, extremely few recipes are very rare, especially in GW2. In addition, as the recipe must be acquired only once per character, the value of the effort for each item degrades over time as more players find each recipe and as players who already have the recipes continue to produce the items. Learning how to make an item requires effort, but making one does not.
In a game like EVE or Puzzle Pirates, the effort cost is time. Creating a single item may take days or even weeks to complete. Some items in EVE may take even longer. If (in a hypothetical MMO with both a crafting system like EVE and levels) I just reached level 60, and I want a new level 60 sword, I’m not going to want to wait a day or so before I get it, so instead I’ll simply buy it from someone who already spent a day making it. Time is money, so the cost of the sword will be the materials plus whatever time is currently worth.
This doesn’t address everything, however. If effort was the only thing missing from GW2’s crafting system, the value of the crafted goods would be the same as their materials. The reason it is lower is because ArenaNet has given players many other reasons to craft. Aside from needing to craft actual items to raise your crafting skill (a bad idea), you also get XP from crafting, and are required to max two of your own crafting disciplines to obtain a legendary weapon. Because there are so many incentives to craft other than creating goods, there are enough people that don’t care about making money and will sell all of their items at a loss.
At this point, there is nothing that can be done to save crafting in GW2.
A video game isn’t a product to me, its an escape. I have hundreds apon hundreds of games…I played them, moved on. A game is 60 bucks, a car 30k+. I research a car, of course, a game not so much… I’m not an addictive gamer that follows trains of games. I’m simply a very busy man with to much stress in his life. Video games take my mind of all of that, and that’s my story. ArenaNet specifically pointed out that they care about their players and there opinions, I am voicing mine.
I don’t need explanations on why there isn’t this or that from the average player. I only want it from one, ArenaNet. Voice your opinions as you will…My soul purpose with this thread is to have an honest answer from a game developer. That is all.
I watch the news..I live by the news its all associated with my job. I followed the emails supplied to me by ArenaNet. If everyone wants to keep attacking me in this thread go right ahead, I am going to sleep. I wanted heros, and I’m sure others do too. I honestly think you, ravenhood, in this entire thread come off as the most ignorant one here..I’m not trying to offend you but everything you have said has literally done nothing productive towards the point. Age some more and that will probably go away…
I don’t know what more to tell you other than that you are a very self-entitled person. The only post from ArenaNet you can expect is from a moderator, which very well may come with an infraction for demanding a developer response. It’s against the forum rules, you know. Oh, I guess you probably didn’t research that, either.
You can pretend a video game isn’t a product, but living in a make believe world where game developers exist not to sell products and make money but to serve your whims does not change reality. You wasted $60 on a product you didn’t research. The only one that has to answer to you for this is yourself.
I guess I should of pointed out that I just wanted it for dungeons and instanced zones.
The closest you’ll get for that is the personal story. Dungeons are designed specifically to be not feasible by a solo player.
I dont spend my time researching new games, I spend my free time playing them.
There’s your problem. Maybe if you could be bothered to research games before buying them, you wouldn’t have to go to their forums and complain that you bought a game you can’t enjoy. They made it abundantly clear throughout the entirety of development that this is a completely different game. If you can’t do any amount of research on the game you’re spending $60 on, that’s only one person’s problem: yours.
That’s exactly like buying World of Warcraft when it first came out and complaining that it’s not an RTS. I shudder to think what you do every time a Final Fantasy game comes out.
It’s your fault for not doing the research. All you’re doing now is whining.
I’ve been getting this bug a lot lately, too, in casual games. It’s incredibly annoying. I have to either Alt+F4 or wait for the map to end. I haven’t noticed a relation to score, but I haven’t really been paying attention to the game status before it happens, either.
They don’t need to add new things. It’s just disappointing that the dynamic events aren’t really all that dynamic. They should have made their effects a lot heavier and slower. If the dredge take over an outpost, it should be very difficult to take it back, but, once retaken, should stay taken for a much longer time.
If a zone is abandoned, it would become so overrun that levels 80s would have reason to come in and clear out everything. Think of it like WvE.
I get really bad headaches from playing Minecraft and almost nothing else. Minecraft has an FOV slider, so I’m ruling that one out.
Have you considered for half a moment that people enjoy the game but are frustrated with certain aspects of it?
“IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT THEN LEAVE!” is such a pathetic argument.
