Condition Damage.

I am going to assume you are talking PvP? Since that is the only place I know of where conditions seem to be a problem to deal with, for less experienced players.

So, first lets get the misunderstanding out of the way, You are right when you mention that to optain max power dmg, you need 3 different stats (power, ferocity and precition)
You are however completely wrong if you think a condi build only need 1 or 2 starts. It need 4 (with current stat options, power, condi power, precition and condi duration), Now if we are any time get a better stat sett for condi (without power) then it will be the same number of stats.

Any kind of tankyness will for both kinds of builds make the dmg suffer hard.

Then you mention that condi builds can aply conditions and then just run away? This however just give you a chance to cleanse the conditions with your condi cleanses (I assume you have some of those in your build??).

What you seem to forget (or not realise) is that power build do the same dmg as a condi build, but the way you defent against them differ.
Against power builds you defences are Thoughness (and vitality to lesse extent), dodges, blocks, invulns and protection.
Against condis its vitality, dodges, blocks, invulns, resistance and cleanses.

Now if you dont dodge a necro that use “blood is power” on you and therefore get 4 stakcs of bleeding on you lasting 1 min. And you dont have a cleanse in your build to take care of it. Then you deserve to die (sry).
Likevise, if you dont dodge the power mesmer using F1 shatter on you, then you just die. You do not get 1-2 sec to react and cleanse here, you just die.

So stop complaining about conditions and look at your build. If you have tons of defences against power dmg, and no defences agains condis. Then you are like many others and need to rethink your build.

Sry re-reading this, it comme accros more harsh then it was ment.

Why are melee players punished?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Sigfodr.9576

Assuming we are talking PvE here, I cant think of ANY class that dont do alot more dmg in melee then as ranged. In some harder fight, going in and out of melee can sometimes be the optimal, but generally there is only 1 reason to be ranged and that is sleep mode. Now being in melee will often requere that you stay awake and move+dodge/block/distort/reflect when getting attacked back. But the benefit is that your dmg is alot higher then a ranged player.

I know new/un-exp players often feel ranged do more dmg, but this is simply due to not knowing the fights and the class they play. When this knowlange is optained melee will win out every time. So, get in there and you will see improvement

With poF, this might change. Or we might atleast also see condi guards become a thing.

Easyest —> hardest boss to carry (imo and experience naturally). With this I mean, how hard is it for 2-4 good players to help un-exp or less skilled players. This can be by outhealing when somesome fail to dodge, by doing the few mechanicks (so rest can just dps) or by doing dps while rest just focus on staying alive.

Easy: MO, Cairn, escort, trio.

middle: Samarog, Daimos (easy mode), VG, Gors, Sloth, Mathias

Hard: KC, sab, xera

GW2 Tank?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Sigfodr.9576

Sigfodr.9576

So toughness equals aggro essentially and past that it is up to skills and utilities to provide survivability? So does that lean more towards avoiding damage all together or being able to soak it and recover? Or does it really matter? One of the replies talked about spell breaker having some skills that would allow for situational negation and boom stripping being a viable survivability tactic.

Talking raids, the one with highest thoughness will be the tank (in the fights where a tank is needed). Chrono is atm the best at this, due to the fact that they also have alot of evades/blocks/distortions. So they can combine face-tanking the small hits with evading/etc the big hits. Learning when to face-tank and when to evade/block is a part of it.

Notice that not all fights use a tank. Or that the tank is picked in abit different way (sloth).

ohh 1 more thing, if you go berserker (glass), then learn to dodge, blind etc. This will often be better at keeping you alive the normal “face”-taniking. Nomatter how tanky you have gone.

Often (in PvE) it is more about learning the fight then about being tanky.

Basic build questions

Sigfodr.9576

the long answer (sry no short one), yes: It depends..

It depends on the kind of PvE you like to do and it depends on the kind of WvW you like to do and lastly it depends on how skilled and experienced you are (as a player), let me explain with a few ex.

Open world PvE (world bosses and just running around in different maps): Here it mainly depend on the play style you enjoy, do you like to kill stuff fast and at the same time be awake and fast to react all the time. or do you like to relax and ignore when a random mob start hitting you. If the first, then berserker (or maurader) might be something for you. If the latter, go abit more tanky.

For low lvl fractals/Dungeons: Is fast and org. runs something for you, berserker. Is slower runs with more focus or talking/typing your style= more tanky.

High lvl fractals: more or less same as above, but the higher lvl fractal the more you need to know when to dodge/blind/reflect to survive in berserker gear. But on the other hand, the harder a time you will also have with tanking hits even in a tank sett.

WvW (solo/duo roaming): go full berserker and you will prob be dead all the time. celestial on the other hand will make surviving alot easyer. Something even more tanky and you dont do enough dmg to be a threat and will just slowly die.

WvW org-group (10-15 man): Here your job will often be to heal/cleance the rest. So celestial or even minstreal will be what you want.

WvW not org-group (10+): Berserker gear= stay behind everyone else, everything will kill you. But if you can get some shoots off, stuff on the other side will also die fast. Or go more tanky as in celestial/minstreal and be more melee and help the group with surviving. All up to you and the play style you like.

As you can see, its hard to give an “easy” answer without knowing more about what you like to play and what kind of content you enjoy. HOWEVER generally exotic will be fine (not for high lvl fractals as you need AR) so have more then 1 sett or armor/weapons and do it all when you fell like it

Power or Condition build

Hybrid for pve, and condi or power seem to both work in the other two modes.

What does a hybrid PvE build look like?

Some people call the standard condi build for a hybrid build. The reason is that it also have abit of power in the stats (Anet have not given us a pure condi stat armor sett yet).

The build can naturally be changed abit depending on the fight etc.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQNArYhCV3g3NWKGMqhwU4WF3DLiJxoAwAIBA-TxhHQBEU5372fgc6D0oSQAcKAq1TAgeq/QKgFVWB-

You can swap the rune to superior rune of berserker (better for some fights, but the difference is very small). Traits can also change, swap soul reaping for either blood magic or death magic as needed.

You say power reaper is not in the best shape now. How often is GW2 balanced? I know that in other MMOs I played it took even years to get sub classes to get their shiny spot for a while.

about 4 times a year atm, changes abit. Power reaper/necro have however never been top (or even close to top) dps. The problem is other factores of you class. Like the extra tankyness from death shroud. This make it hard to increase the damage potential without making them totally OP in other game types (like PvP or WvW). In both PvP and WvW power necro/reaper have several times been THE damage class, since they have been able to run less tanky gear and still survive. Where in PvE (both open world and instanced) everyone (assuming you now the fight and how to dodge) can run full glass, the necro dont benefit from the extra tankyness.

All this said however, dont take it to hard. Power reaper can do ok dmg (condi reaper abit more), and enough to do any of the fights. And the tankyness will make it abit easyer in the beginning where you make mistakes to not insta die from said mistakes.

Since noone have mention it yet, and it is a commen mistake I see many do when looking at their dps:

If you test your dps on the training golem (in the aurodrome) Make sure to apply the normal buffs to yourself (fury, 25 might etc) and the normal 25 vuln on the golem. The difference between having buffs and not having them is like night and day.

Besides that, as already mentioned by others, know the fights or be honest and let people know that you are new. Since knowing the fight is 90% of any raid/fractal/dungeon in gw2.

One last thing, and this is sad news, power necro is… not the best dps’er in gw2, to put it mildly. Hopefully patches/expec will help on this. And they have plenty of dmg (if played right) to do the job in any raid. But you cant semi afk and presume to automaticly be highest dps in the group.

ahh I see I made a small trait mistake in the builds above. You generally want to run “Invigorating Torrents” and not “Harmonious Conduit” in tempest trait line. My bad. If you miss stab, blame your guards

And you are super tanky, 3100+ armour, close to 18k HP and perma 40% protection, perma vigor and perma regen. Not to mention lots of condi cleanses.

Another small change you can do for WvW is to swap the utility skill “Aftershock” out for either “Lightning Flash” or “Armor of Earth”. Personally I run “Lightning Flash” just to jump over red AOE or to replace myself if I am sleeping and have moved away from my commander.

How much have you experimented with that? How much carryover does it have to PvE as well?
Im very interested in that, the playstyle is what worries me since Im not really sure how to put out much sustained heals

In all honestly, I really want to play this build with Scepter/Warhorn. Whats your opinion on that? I dont like staff as much, and D/Wh has like zero range, which is very bad for WvW and surviving in general [And it’s an Ele we’re talking about here]

Carryover: as mentioned above, you can with succes run it in raids (minus gors+kc where druid simply do alot better). It mainly works well for less skilled groups, but can be used by all. The benefit of heal temp over druid is generally 2 things. 1) greater healing, and 2) stronger AOE healing (in a big aoe).

For open PvE.. sure you can run it, but in open pve you can run anything.

How to do sustained heal: In the staff version, you simply do alot of sustained heal by simply staying in water all the time and by using auto attacks. Thats it.
In the dagger/warhorn or dagger/focus you need to use aura for all your heals.

Generally staff is THE heal weapon for raids. And for fractals either staff or dagger/x will work about the same.

Scepter in raids: Dont have nearly the same heal capebilitys as staff. As in not even close.

Scepter in fractals: works well, simply use the sagger/x build and swap dagger for scepter. Abit less healing but with more might stacking abilitys.

Scepter in WvW: Generally less usefull the staff or dagger/x. The reason is that if you want to be ranged, staff will do ALOT more healing. And if you can be abit closer to your enemys (mid-range) then dagger will preform better, due to its faster hits. Scepter generally need a enemy that dont move (like a boss in fractals) and where you dont need to heal alot (like in fractals). So it is not really suited for WvW support temp.

Heal Temp is a strong build for curtain cases. And weak other places. So lets look at the pro’s and con’s and from there then talk about where (and when) heal temp can be/is usefull

Pro’s:
– Very strong sustain healing. This is due to Soothing mist and regen.
– Strong condi cleance (group)
– Fairly strong passiv heal, from mainly soothing mist and regen. Meaning that a heal temp can ress a downed and still heal at the same time.
– strong AOE heal, with a wide range. Making healing a spread out group easy.
– Good protection uptime (group wide, and 40% prot. Not the normal 33%). This can vary depending on build though.

Con’s:
– Minor burst heal
– Weak CC (better if you sacrifice your healing for a duration).
– LOW dps
– NO group buffs (offensive)
– Due to prot and regens importens for the heal temp, boon duration is importent and minstreal (=thoughness) is usefull = less usefull if you dont want to tank.

So, knowing these pro’s and con’s what, when and where is a heal temp usefull (good)?

Lets talk PvE first, due to the very low dmg and the heavy support. A heal temp NEED a group. So not made for any kind of single play.
In fractals and even more in raids, where heal temp can shine is in fights that are low on dps check. But heavy in mechanicks or other things that can kill your group. Even more so in a less org. or less skilled group.
Speaking fractals, any kind of necro/tanky group can benefit from a heal temp. even more if they dont stack or have problems with agony.
Speaking raids, some bosses will be made easy with a heal temp, here are a few: Sloth (use water overload to ignore shake), Mathias (if the group spread out, heal temp still heal all). VG. Cairn. Can also be used on alot more bosses with less effect, like Trio, Escort, Xera, Daimos.

PvE TLDR: the better a group, the less usefull heal temp is. The more punishing a fight the better heal temp is.

WvW:
– Roaming: Not very usefull.
– Group: 15+ size groups, VERY usefull. The heal temp is along with Guard, rev and necro part of the strongest group sett ups in WvW group play. The heal temp will be in change of proc and regen uptime as well as supporting with burst heals and burst condi cleanses. A few commanders have attempted to run without heal temps (since no dps from them) and these commanders have a tendensy to die all the time

So what kind of build/builds do heal temp run? I will list a few with proc/cons quickly mentioned.

Max Heal: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWn0XC9XiVYCOYCcYilXAz9pmV/qEDgAwPsoCcAeAA-TxxGQBKS9HPqEkcPAAAcBAGy+D1S5Xb0BQKA/2pB-e
Mainly for PvE (raid) where thoughness can be a problem. Strong heals but no protection.

Same but with protection: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWn0XC9XiVYCOYCcYilNAb4BEAKgErgUwZ09uGYPsA-TxxGQB1S5niU/BAXAAy9AAajOAPqEcI7PQKA/2pB-e

Max Protection: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWn0XC9XiVYCOYCcYilNAzdvGYPsDPgAQBkYFkCqAA-ThxGQBDZ/B6p+DBV+BgLAwEVCSuHAoDgUA+tTD-e
Notice the 2 small changes in the trait-lines water and tempest. This lower your heal output but make you able to spam out protection. Very usefull in WvW. The water sigil can be swapped to a superior sigil of consentration or superior sigil of life for even better WvW capabilitys.
To play a max protection build in raids. use the same build, but do NOT change the 2 traits in tempest and water. But keep the traits “Soothing Power” and “Gale Song”.

Same builds can also be played with Dagger (mainhand) and either warhorn or focus offhand. This is mainly for WvW and provide you with a more mid-ranged healer. Dropping some condi cleance but gaining some more cc and might/fury share.

How to play these builds?
This depend on you trait choice more then anything else. If you pick:

- “Soothing Power” and “Gale Song” then you want to stay in water attunement 99% of the tame and mainly focus on auto attacks + skill 5. Your skill 3 will be your burst heal and overload will be condi cleance + extra burst heal. Your utility skills will be your main source of auras and thereby your protection source. So you want to use them 1 at a time, spread out over time (low on protection). This is by far best played with staff.

- “Powerfull Aura” and “Unstable Conduit” You can here more freely swap between attunements and you will need to overload on all attunements to keep protection up all the time, use your utility skills to fill in if you have a gab in protc uptime. The heal from this variant is lower but win on protection. This build can be played with either staff or dagger/warhorn/focus.

Personally I mainly use the minstreal + staff and run “Soothing Power” and “Gale Song” in training raids. And “Powerfull Aura” and “Unstable Conduit” in WvW.

I hope this was usefull

But I can tell you that for PvE, Both entangle and glyph of unity (druid elite) are very strong.

Highest dmg build for ranger use entangle. And it will also often be used for the utility (immob).

I dont know about PvP, but in WvW or PvE I cant see any reason to ever run Sylvan Hound. Its just not worth it.

Thx for your input

Power Ps Warrior. Basically spam hundred blades and arc divider, swap to mace shield when it’s time to break. All gear is easy to obtain. Plus you’ll always be welcome to all raids.

Can power PS still do the job, sure. But it will not be welcome in many groups. The last few nerfs to power war hit it to hard. It is not a build I’d recommend someone to pick up atm.

But which one will do better. A condi PS with poor rotation or a power PS with poor rotation?

honestly, not sure. I have seen power wars doing 2-3k dps (not even kidding), and condi war doing 5-6k.. both are so bad that auto attacking will give you more dps. So anything can be made useless.

DH (since we talk PvE) is still a support/dmg class. The DH’s DPS is abit lower then pure dps classes, but it still bring some support skills. So what kinds of support.

CC: Your elite is a huge cc (that also stack mobs toghether for easy cleave). Bane signet can if really needed also be used. (edit: I forgot to mention sanctuary, and this is a very strong cc)

Pull: Both gs5 and F1 can be used to pull add’s. This is very usefull in both fracs and at some raid bosses (like sloth).

Block: F3 block can be a huge life saver both in fracs and in raids. Use it to block all dmg while cleaving the mobs. Or to block shake at sloth.

Refleck: WoR is still one of the best reflect skills in the game. Well used in fracs, or at some raid bosses (like mathias).

Aegis: for fracs (like cm100) this is huge (when your group know when you will use it, so they dont need to dodge).

Blind: with blind on both F1 and gs3 you are able to blind many add’s for long enough that they can be cleaved down.

Are we in as strong a place atm as we used to (both as support and as dps), no! sadly not. And PvE DH prob can use a small buff. But its still strong

You only auto attack and spam 3 skills.

Only reason I dont agre is simply that condi rev is kinda bad unless you are doing Cairn or mathias. It can also work on VG, but that is about it.

Did you mean that if the ranger just camp axe/torch it will do good enough DPS, if not I don’t think it is simple enough for what I’m searching.

You “can” stay on axe/torch, or stay on shortbow. But you will lose alot of dmg. If you want a condi build thats easy, I’d say condi temp is what to pick.

pro/cons of condi temp: as any temp dmg build, you are NOT tanky, on the + side the rotation is simply, and if you cant keep up with it, then its not a huge problem. Simply use all your skills all the time and your dps will be ok (can be better, but its still ok).

If you want a power build: as mentioned, power engi, power thief or power (hammer) DH. In my opinion hammer DH is by far the hardest of the 3. Since your dmg loss from not using F1 at the right times or interrupting your AA chain will be huge dps losses.

Hmm I am finding myself disliking the Secpter and Torch deal, I can do it but how much worse off would I be if I do Hammer and GS? I see on Dlfy there is a Hammer Guardian build. It does not say there a second build to it, so I figure… maybe the great sword?

More specificly to this part. The traits will be very different, depending on if you pick greatsword or hammer. You can naturally run both. But then you will want to use only 1 of them 99% of the time and only swap to the other if you need something specific. Ex. : you are on gs all the time, unless you need the push from hammer 4. Then you swap to hammer and as fast as you can get back on gs.

Genarally all the weapons are good, but for different things.

Greatsword: High burst and your source of retal (you have a trait that let you do more dmg if you have retal on). Also a really usefull pull on skill 5. Good for dmg in both PvE and WvW.

Staff: This weapon do 3 things well. 1) loot stick, when you want to hit alot of mobs that die fast to get max loot. 2) speed buff, skill 3. 3) Heal, in WvW its mainly used by org. groups to give a short lasting might buff and a huge group heal.

Hammer: Fairly low dmg, but with several benefits depending on the game mode. For raids you mainly use it as a support weapon, it will have alot less dmg then greatsword/scepter/torch but will surply your group with perma protection. And the nr. 4 skill is a nice cc. In WvW hammer is also used alot, here mainly for the high burst dmg from nr. 2 (that also funktion as a blast) and as enemy-control from skill 3+4.
In fractals you might see people use it shortly for blasting before a fight or to blast stealth for a running part to skip mobs.

Longbow: Can only be used when you are a DH, mainly used in PvP, and by people that hate dmg. It is generally sup par to any other weapon guard can use.

Sword: If alone it can provide you with fury, very usefull. If in a group, not really usefull. Besides that it have a blink on skill 2 for movement. Generally not used alot in any kind of group play (besides some PvP). Lower dmg then greatsword.

Mace: Support/tank weapon, lower dmg then sword but with tank/support skills. A group regen on nr. 2 (mainly usefull in WvW) and a nice block on nr. 3. Mainly used in WvW.

Scepter: highest dmg you have (on big hitboxes). Due to its slow projectile speed best used in melee (I know that is strange, but anet). Only real ranged option for a guard.

Focus: Your (self) tank pick. With a good block on skill 5, its for tanking. Notice that it can be used in fractals for blasting might/stealth, but that it will blow up after a few sec. So if used for stealt, make sure the blast dont hit any mobs or you come out of stealth.

Shield: You group tank pick. With a projectile absorb on skill 5 and a group block on skill 4, this is a very usefull group tank choise. Usefull in both WvW and (at places) in fractals and even open world.

Torch: you full dmg weapon. Use nr. 4 of cd and dont fall into the trap of using nr. 5. Sadly that skill is still utter ….

LAST by not least, get to know all of them, I personally have them all on my guard, and use them all. The difference between a ok guard and a good guard is that he know when and where to use the different weapons.

Conditions!

1) Blocks: Blocks also block incoming condition dmg (unless the specific skill is listed as un-blockable), it do however (naturally) not stop already aplyed conditiones on you from doing dmg. Just like a block dont heal you from a direct dmg hit you got before you started blocking, it will not revome dmg from conditions you where hit by before you started blocking.

2) Invulns: same as blocks

3) In the same way as direct dmg is affected by thoughness and protection. Crits are affected by weakness and condition dmg is affected by condition duration reduction and resistance.

4) Chill: Because thats what slow do. chill is a mix between slow and cripple.

All in all you sound like you are having truple with conditions, may I recommend looking your build over and learning where and how to counter conditions.

condition axe/torch + shortbow. With full viper armor/tinkets/weapons is very strong atm. Can be used both as old ranger or as druid trait settup.

http://qtfy.eu/build/ranger is the raid builds. For open world/fractals you can swap skills or a few traits to make yourself more tanky if you want. But you are already nicely tanky on ranger/druid with pet so

Power Reaper Raid Build

you will be able to gain a small improvement by taking warhorn over focus off-hand. But yes, power reaper is in the sad spot that dagger AA + warhorn 5 (off cooldown) untill 50% then swap to gs and spam gravedigger. Dropping wells all along off-cd. Is the max dps you can get. And even more sad, its kitten dps :/

A new stat sett with only 2 stats, power/ferocity might change this, so..

In a hammer build you will be on hammer 99% of the time. But, since you just as well can have something in swap. Either gs (for the pull) or scepter/torch (for an ranged option) will be your best picks

gz you managed to find a troll. They exist everywhere, just go to Teq or any other event and look at map chat.

How to fix it?

Tag up (or have someone you know tag), if you are tagged up, then noone joining the squad can kick anyone (unless you specific give them promition to do so).

As someone who have raided alot, I have found the raiding community to best amoung the freindliest in gw2. Fractal runners are alot more eager to kick others.

That said, there are naturally always that 1 bad able :/

Distortion-share New Meta...

in WvW

Sigfodr.9576

yea, once two mesmers post themselves dropping vale gaurd using this, it will be hotfixed within 72hrs.

You seem to miss the point, you cant do it with 2 chronos. You need 5.

They are using the 2 traits:
– “Blurred Inskriptions” give yourself 1 sec of distortion
– “Inspiring Distortion” whenever you give yourself distortion, also share 1 sec of it. internal cool down 5 sec.

So you need 5 chronos taking turns to give eashother 1 sec of distortion, eash lasting 1 sec. And with an internal cd of 5 sec.

When you see the distortion go over 1 sec (in the vid), its due to them also using F4 distortion.

As already mentioned by others this is purely a troll build (group) that have 0 usebility in a real fight (wvw or raid).

But 10/10 lolled at it

Raid Flexibility

As everyone else have already mentioned, meta is faster, but not needed. However…

What you do need is certain “things”, these will depend on the fight, but let me give an ex.

At VG you need:
– CC, several times doing the fight you will need to cc VG and the small VG’s
– Boon strip, Blue mini VG have a boon the make him invulnable unless you strip it from him. So you need some way of doing this.
– Condi dmg, Red mini VG can only be dmg. with condi dmg.
– Healing, your group will need some kind of healer.
– Seeker control, Seekers cant be killed but can be pushed away or immobilised. So you need someone to do this.

All of these things can be done by several professions and in several ways. But you need some kind of way to do them all. In the same way are there “things” you dont need. No need for personal/group condi cleance, since no conditions at VG. Same with Stability/stun breaks. No need for those at VG.

As you might see, for different fights. Different things are needed, or not needed. And being able to reconise what you need/dont need and then change the builds abit from fight to fight will do more then simply running “pure meta”.

If you have specific questions about a fight, what to bring, not to bring etc. then ask away

Mercenaries or single player options?

may I surgest a guild? I know my guild have many (+15 out of a 40 man guild) that reguraly do this or that dungeon. But we rarely use lfg. A simply “2 spots for arah P2” in guild chat will fill it.

Another option is to simply solo the run, it can be done. Its just abit harder.

As a DPS crhono (second chrono in the group, and the one that dont tank). Your main job is to provide buffs, and do abit of dmg.

If you dont want to tank. And want to keep your berserker gear. Then np, use:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQJAsOScYg6wqB-TxBXABPoEEAlT9o+Tp7Pw7DAIE9AArkhUABO1C-e

As you can see, its a simpel berserker sett/weapons. But with 2 tinkets being commander. This make you have 100% boon duration. And still be way below the tank in thoughness.

You do however need leadership runes for this.

Megaservers: my one big gripe

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Sigfodr.9576

Sigfodr.9576

Let me start by saying that I might just be lucky, but I dont have ANY of these problems. So lets have a look at said problems and see if I simply is lucky or if there is something I do to become “lucky”.

[sub]Besides that I always find myself on different instances than guildies[/sub]

Only 2 ways to ending on another map then a guildy is the following:
1) you and he are from different language servers. So someone from a EU server and someone from a ES server will have this problem.
2) the map is soft capped (or hard capped), if soft capped you can then taxi on your guildy.

The fact getting on active maps gives me such a headache.
You go to any of the four HoT maps. Once there you will always, without fail, be planted on an empty, inactive map. This has a 100% guarantee.

Not true, sry. The maps are however all fairly large and this often lead people to THINK that the map is emty. Only one where you prob will land on an emty map is DS, due to the event timer.

The next thing to do is get on an active map, which relies on other people being nice enough to have LFG queries.
Now, when it comes to the meta events, you can arrive as early as you want, it won’t matter. At some point, people are going to form the taxis to get maps full for the meta events. And here it’s not first come first serve, it’s anarchy. You join a group, and spam join on map, clicking away a hundred “the map is full”-errors (even when there’s only like 100 people in yet) and someone who joined later, may just steal your last spot away. And coming early won’t change it, because you have to wait for a taxi to appear in the LFG tool.

ok, 1) maps only tell you they are full if they are full. If you get into a map, after having gotten the “the map is full”-message, its simply due to either someone left the map, or someone dc’ed from the map. Thereby opening up a spot (this btw is the reason many org. DS maps stop taxi at the end, since they want to let anyone that dc be able to get his spot back when he reconnect)

2) you dont need to wait for a lfg to aper. Simply tag up and type something in map chat. Like “Lets get the meta rolling all, 3 more tags pls” or whatever. This lead back to the “if I dont see any tags on my map = emty map”-symdrom that many seem to suffer.

TLDR: Mega-server generally works very well. How to get into a good map? well make a map, tag up and type in map chat, be alive. Do something to org. it.

I just come from 2 “emty” maps, 1 TD and 1 AB. In both maps I simply tagged, typed in map chat to get a few more tags and made a LFG, 5 min later the map was hard capped and 5 later then that the meta was started and we made it easy in both cases. And this is how it is 99% of the times I join a map.
But surprise, someone need to tag up first, and someone need to be the first tag. So to all, tag. Join tags and it go nice and easy.

Healer druid stuff

About:

staff/staff is a waste of a staff. It have 0 benefit contra only using 1 staff. If you think its to trigger “Quick Draw”, then you are better off doing this by using Avatar.

Viper Axe used in a heal build. You will be better off with an exo magi axe (get it from AC). The axe is not for dmg, but for the utility. And the main consern is therefore to keep your healing power high when you need to swap away from your staff.

Plat doubloons are also kinda a waste, since you will get more healing from water sigil. If you want your regen to outlast the chronos. Then ither use warhorn (traited) or use Healing spring (traited).
