What build do u guys run with GS ?
The normal PS+2*banners ect build.. what else?
ohh you mean on necro.. ahh.. well………
use the right click on salvage tools —> salvage all.. best thing to see your full invetory become emty in 2 secs
There is already a practice raid mode implemented. Its called full heal (magi) tempest.
Just 2 days ago I helped a training group at mathias, we diceded to ignore inrage timer and just out heal it. So we slotted a good full heal druid and a full heal tempest. The kill took 12 min. So WAY into inrage, but so what ^^
Not a bad page to look at
http://qtfy.enjin.com/necromancer
It (as always) depends.
If you have a steady good group, then bringing a power reaper is not a problem. The dmg difference is not huge. BUT you cant compare condi reaper and power reaper as these 2 have different “jobs” in the raid group.
The comparison to your power reaper is the tempest or thief. These are all melee, power based clases. And the power reaper fall short in dmg compared to both of the others. Your streangth is a more tanky settup and ok CC (no better or worse compared to the other 2).
The condi necro on the other hand is ranged and condi. So why is this importent?
At VG, being ranged = green circle, the power reaper cant do this. And due to being condi, its red guardian in split.
At other bosses like mathias, trio and SAB (kiting) again the range is helpfull or part of the reason why a necro is picked in the first place.
And for SAB, sloth and trio being able to use Epi (based on your condi dmg) is a huge reason to even bring a necro. And again a power reaper cant do this.
TLDR: Dont compare the condi and power reaper. Compare your power reaper to a tempest/thief and bring it in the spot of 1 of these.
ohh ohh ohh btw, unless you are talking WvW, PvP or open world. No reason to get a staff. Scepter on the other hand is really needed.

In my normal monday group we always run 1 full heal + 1 dmg (condi in wing 1 and power in 2+3).
The extra healing makes it safe and GotL etc. makes the dmg.
For my tuesday run we sometimes have a hard time getting a 2’nd and therefore sometimes end up with only 1 druid
My exp is that the 2 druid is really good. But that you dont put a random on the druid. You need someone who can play his/her class. And not just someone who AA. That might (only might) work on condi reaper or something similar. Since you “only” loose dmg. But in a 4-4-2 settup you need both druids to do some healing and not just ak. Or you have 4 dead people.
In that way the 7-2-1 settup is abit safer, since all will be healed here (at a loss of dmg). Where the 4-4-2 settup have the 2 druids focus heal the group they are placed in first.
All of this said. If I can pick, always 2 druids. And when I pug (generally late at night) I attempt to always have 2 of them (even gladly 2 full heals).
herald are generally used on all 9 bosses. Though generally only room for 1 pr. group.
Necro: again speaking generally, 2 for VG, 0 for gors, 1 for SAB, 2 for wing 2, 0-10 for Siege, 0 for KC and 0-2 for xera.
The only change that I’d like to see is a reward focused on helping people that dont already have the weekly kill.
Lets say that if a group kill á boss (any of them) and 1 in the group dont already have the weekly kill. Then the 9 others get a bonus of some kind (lets say 1 rare or whatever).
If there are 2 people in the group without the kill. The reward to the other 8 are abit larger. etc.
This will greatly incentivize exp. raiders to help others with kills.
Allow me to recommend dropping the zealot ideer.
If you want to heal, then go magi (armor/weapons are both easy and cheap to get), tinkets can be a mix of magi and cleric.
Why? simple, if you are there to heal (staff), then you dont do any dmg. No matter what gear you have, so better to go full heal and keep all alive. + you want to have avatar up all the time, so you can use “Rejuvenating Tides” 2 times every 20 sec or so. This will give all the other 9 players so many stacks of “Grace of the land” that your groups dps will be alot better then anything else.
If however you dont plan to be the main healer, then go berserker or viper (power or condi) and do dmg as your main role and still heal (spread grace of the land) as often you can. (this is without staff btw).
Zealot is a wierd middle ground, niether good heal and still bad dmg. simply a waste of gold
we cleared 7 hours ago (I think before patch, but not sure). Was still a problem then
Ohh and for leveling you might want a bear for tanking so you can slack even when you meet a champ
have to get them all…
have to get them all…
but from old Tyria:
Fern hound (healing)
Jaguar (dmg)
Lynx (more dmg)
New HoT maps:
Tiger (dmg/fury)
Electric Wyvern (cc)
Smokescale (blind/smoke to blast invis)
is prob the main ones. rest are not bad, but 99% of the time this is the ones I use
I am EU, so anything here is about EU, I dont know about US.
Since there have been a few topics about it being hard to get into raids. I decided to test it out.
About 1 week ago I started looking at lfg about 1 time pr. hour. and joining ALL the teaching runs that I saw. This is my exp. :
I foundt 1-4 teachings runs pr. day, there is prob. some I missed since I dont play 24/7 either.
I told the groups that I was able to join TS, but did not have full ascended (exo armor, ascended weapons/tinkets). That I had no exp. in gw2 raiding but was willing to learn (yes, no LI at all).
About 50% of the runs told me to leave (often gors/sab teaching runs). And the other 50% welcomed me.
I did not join any of the runs, since I only wanted to test if I was able to join. And I do apoligise to any and all off the people whos time I wasted. sry :/
I am a rapid raider, with more or less all classes raid geared and many kills in my bag. I personally lead 2 beginner/training runs for my guild every week + a 1-2 full clears with more exp. people. So I do get my fills of raids.
So why did I do this experiment? Well reading the forum, it sounded like getting into raids was/are really hard, so I wanted to test it.
Result, no it is NOT hard to get into raids, atleast not if you are open to learning and willing to join TS.
Was I just lucky.. I might have been, it might have been that all the nice people log in at same time as me and that only EU have nice people… somehow I do however not really think so..
We also run
Group 1: druid, war, necro, ele, ele
Group 2: druid, war, necro, ele
Group 3: Chrono (full commander gear for 100% boon duration)
only hard part is the gliding ^^
Happened this tuesday:
I have a guildy that just came back to the game, he got HoT, spend 1-2 hours doing abit of the story + a few events to get basic gliding. We did not have a guild raid that day and I did not have time to join him (rl), so he checked lfg. 10-15 min later he whispered me he was in a pug group, lfg text being: lets have a look at first boss in wing 3, later that evening he whispered me over skype with “I just got my first raid kill GG”..
It is never to late to get into raids, join a teaching/learning lfg group or join a guild that do raids, thats it. You will need to spend abit of time, and you will die a few times. But if you want to raid, you will get the kills and learn the bosses.
That’s a special case, the 1st boss of the new wing is the easiest of the Forsaken Thicket, wait a bit (like a week or two) and you’ll see that he will struggle finding groups.
Is it, really. Are you sure?
Since then he joined us (and killed): VG+gors+Xera. And joined a pug group and killed KC. Again, it did not take him more then 20-30 min. to find a pug group. And thats with barely any LI and no tonic etc.
But he do actually open lfg up and look in it once in a while..
If a lfg group show up (teaching/learning run, or no requerements are mention) then join them, if first group dont need a ps, then the next might.
Join a guild that raid, many of them dont require representation and you can be part of 5 guilds in gw2.
I have a guildy that just came back (so he have not raided in gw2 at all), he got a group tuesday within 10-15 min. (I was not able to join him due to rl and our guild did not have a raid that day for him to join). btw, he got the kill.
Raid wing 3 is a good “boss” to start on, easy to find groups that all are new, and easy incounter to start out on.
Hello
I have raid ready chrono and revenant so far. Now I want to make heal spec druid. I heard they are very usefull for raids as well as dungeons and fractals.
I have ascended gear ready and and enough currency to buy jewlery I need. So wich stats should I focus for armor/weapon/jewlery? Any other things I need to be aware of?
p.s. looking for raid group
Thanks
The guys that replied above me are skilled raiders with guild groups that are trying to min max their damage.
In general if you aren’t going for record runs or in a guild group then you need to realize that the tradeoff for a little DPS gain (zealots) is not worth the cost or the risk associated with it.
Most pug or semi casual groups tend to be ok with magi/clerics mix for healing druid since your main job is to heal and not be top tier DPS. Top tier DPS is managed by you keeping scholars bonus and GOTL up for your allies.
The only thing to consider really when you build your druid, is to have multiple sets of trinkets (Magi, Clerics) so you can swap out in case you have more toughness than the tank (Aim for 1100-1500 toughness). The tank needs to aggro the boss by having highest toughness so you have to be lower than them on your druid.
Also, zealots is extremely expensive in price and that money imo is far better spent just gearing up another character instead in addition to gearing a Magi/Clerics druid.
This is the best answer.
So magi stats for armors/weapons and cleric stats for jewelry? About weapons, do you have 2 staffs? Or is 1 weapon of your choosing?
Edit: Suggested sigils runes to go with the set? I guess monk runes? For weapon Sigil of Water and Transferance?
no reason for more then 1 staff (avatar is a weapon swag, to trigger your trait), yes monk runs and water/transference sigils
Edit: Just made the build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQFAWn0rC1siNrAuqAEtiFDBz511s6Bwd1waZlJAsuaAl4xwA-TxxGABDt/AeKBbTHA5PAglU+po6PAcBAEFgfB-e
notice: that I popped all ascended on, exo is more often then not good enough)
And: The skilles that I popped on will differ (same can some of the traits) depending on what boss you are fighting etc.

Except I heard new raiders still can’t find groups to raid with. Thus only fun for a very limited # of players in game.
I did first boss in wing 3 Tuesday in a pug group, no requerements mentioned in lfg, no LI, no Ascended, no nothing. Just join if you fell like it and lets go. Took us a few attempts, but we got the kill.
Today I killed VG + first boss in wing 3 in a new group where we know min. 3 of the members had never been in raids before, at all.
Yes, it is impossible to get into raids for new people….. or something..
ohh and btw, none of the 2 groups was even “training/teaching” runs, just random people getting toghether with a desire to help/learn and hopefully kill a boss.
Then again, if you join for SAB on a full soldier armor thief and start by jumping to your death and then complain that the rest dont want to jump off the platform to ress your dead body.. then it prob is hard to get into raids. Then again, if I turn up at a world boss and go afk, then how many do you think will help me also get my share of the loot after the boss die? #WorldBossElitism
Edit: lol, back to the topic, YES wing 3 is amazing. The new raid members in my guild love the first boss (easy start on raiding), and us who have raider some more love the other 2 bosses. Ohh and the pre-event to 3’th boss, ty for that one, so good ^^
(edited by Sigfodr.9576)
Are you NA or EU? might be helpfull for us to know
Pls do NOT get zealot armor/weapons. Its a waste of good gold. (for druid). So why not, simple, staff do NO dmg and scale even worse, so wasting stats on dmg and using staff at the same time is.. useless. This leave you with 2 ways to play druid:
- If you want to be a full healer druid then go magi armor/staff (if you have AC tokens then that is a easy way to get this). Use monk runes and water+transference sigils. (the transference is not cheap, so you can wait abit with it). Get some cleric tinkets and heal your way to victory. This build is used for all the bosses is all 3 wings and is super effective.
- Or you can go off-healer, this is also quite usefull and “better” groups often use 2 off-healers and not a full healer for some of the bosses. You can go off-healer as either power or condi, condi is on full viper armor/tinkets/weapons (sh+a/t). And power is on full berserker armor/tinkets/weapons (s/a+lb).
Generally I’d recommend the full heal for you if you are new, both since its used at all the bosses but also since it often is what pug and lesser exp. groups run.
Last, learn what to do on your class, you might be there as a healer, but it will often also be your job to provide fury (tiger as pet) and GotL stacks (grace of the land, a trait).
- It is lifesteal that do dmg and heal (dmg scale with power and heal with healing power)
- It is worth it in low lvl dungeons if you are at power cap, or at places where the heal will help you (solo/due runs).
- It is effective for power/condi druids in raids/high-lvl fracs for the extra heal since that will make your avatar charge up alot faster = more GotL. (notice that this is only if you are having truple getting your avatar up fast enough)
ohh and earth elememtal from temp elite (rocky), dont forget that one
This is my normal tank build for dungeons/fractals (for raids I dont tank, since I have a chrono in group)
Retreat is also usefull if reflect is not a problem (remember that shield of the avenger give aegis when you use its active)
Besides that, its mainly a “learn the tell tell signs” of the boss/mob and dodge/block at the right time. It take some practice in the start, but its worth it.
Also remember to reming your temp friend to help you tank, breakbar control and blind (sandstorm) is importent.
It might be usefull if you mention for what:
Open PvE
Dungeon/fractals
Raids
PvP
WvW roaming
WvW small group
WvW large group
The build, stats/traits/skills will be very different depending on where and for what you want to use it for.
LFG is getting better
But
If you dont know where t start, then send me a mail/whisper ingame (if I dont respons its due to me missing it, happends). Cant promise you a great group, but we do kill, even if it takes abit longer sometimes.
But be warned, I will ask about what class you play, armor/weapons and skills. And I might ask you to change skills or slowly work towards better armor/weapons. that said, you will not be the first one we bring with no experience.
If you play on EU, then add me and send me a mail ingame. I am more then willing to show you around

What you made is a schematic of a table, now you need to make the table itself. This is done by using the Aetheric Assembly device in your guild hall (you might not have the rights to use this one in your guild, then talk to a guild leader).
Hi
If it mainly is for leveling/world completion, then you want to test things out. Use all the weapons to learn how they work and all the skills so you know what they do. BUT that said, something like http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAR7dlsAhShYhQwaIQQEHxDldDy3HNniv4MWDgGoeB-ThRBABmpE8hLAAAPAAKV/BPdDXt/o8DA-e
will make you do good dmg and have some condi removel/stun break to save you.
A few general rules:
- kill things fast, then they dont hit back
- dodge and block > tankyness. This will help you later when the mobs you fight hit to hard for you to survive in tanky gear, and dodge can save you.
- Retreat is speedbuff, nothing is better then speedbuff when running in the world.. and an aegis = win.
(btw, I popped ascended armor etc on, dont think to hard about this, mainly look at the stats).
Can I assume you are speaking from a PvP perspective?
Since in PvE, tempest generally use 2 overloads, Fire overload —> stay in fire and continue rotation untill fire overload is up again. And Air overload —> go into fire —> fire 5 —> use Fresh air trait to go directly into air again..
If you are going to pug, then condi is the safer option, but you can clear the raid on both a power and a condi necro.
or ½ berserker and ½ assassin
learn where to stand.. I know I know.. sounds like I call you a bad player, but truly, positioning mean more then anything else on ele.
Besides that, you can change you fire trait line for water, this will both give your whole party alot more healing (since you then can party heal with all your auras) and make your more tanky. You loose abit of dmg, but for a Fresh air build its not alot. (dont do it on staff)
swapping your “Arcane brilliance” (healing skill) out with “warsh the pain away” will also work. Or “feel the burn” out for “arcane shield”.
Dont forget to use “Glyph of storm” in earth to blind the small mobs. And as elite “glyph of elementals” in earth (rocky) is the best tank in game.
1 more thing
The sigils, to make it cheap (and more dmg at the same time), take 1 sigil of Earth and 1 of either Geomancy (or if you have the gold Bursting)
Alright, this is what I was thinking of running for gear.
Burnzerker is indeed fun. But you need the new Berserker trait line for it to be really good. I recommend getting a longbow and dropping the off-hand axe for a worhorn (for speedbuff) or better a torch (for dmg).
The armor however look good. But if you are willing to go the whole mile, then do some PvP (twillings arbor line) or some twillingt arbor dungeon runs so you can buy 5 runes from twilling arbor.
5 nightmare runes + 1 blact diamont is alot more dmg then the 6 black ones you have in the build atm
Might be a US problem, I play on EU and last I checked, there was 5+ maps running. This is not counting the maps run by organised groups. But just the “pug” maps, where 3 people have tagged up and put up lfg’s. And it have been like that every time I have looked. That is about the same as TEQ, so is there also eerily quiet at teq?
when do people learn to use lfg… sign
Actually guardians are quite pointless for the protection as well since revenants can keep up permanent protection for the entire group.
However, for a rev to do that, he will give up ALOT of party dps, a guard however dont. So all in all, it is better to bring a guard for it (unless you use a mesmer or necro or ele to do this naturally).
All in all, guard is fairly so so for the first 2 raid bosses. So there is not really a reason to bring one, however, you can bring one and it will not b a problem.
Sinister
Primary 1: 439
Secondary 1: 315
Secondary 2: 315Total: 1069
Viper
Primary 1: 376
Primary 2: 376
Secondary 1: 207
Secondary 2: 207Total: 1166
Have there been power creep, Yes. Is Viper one of the reasons.. not really
Why not?
The condition duration food was nerfed, so we lost 20% duration, this = 300 expertise. So we lost 300 stat points (from food buff). That Viper is 100 points more then Sinister do therefore not explain any power creep. Since old Sinister (with food) > viper (with food).
The new traits/weapons (and alacrity) on the other hand..
he also turn when he put down blue (teleport) circles, so you might not be looseing agro, just that he turn to put them down.
How does a dagger build compare to greatsword for damage? I am running full zerk and was using GS to start out in HoT but eventually switched over to dagger/WH. Still running blood/SR/Reaper and it just “feels right.” I am trying to decide if the damage is actually comparable or if I am just more comfortable with dagger because the GS is still unfamiliar. Gaining LF seems to go very well with dagger/WH, seemingly better than with GS. But does that matter so much from a damage perspective? Survivability for reaper is pretty amazing for running pure zerk. Most stuff can be all but face-tanked, even several of the HP champs.
Above 50% hp, for 1 or 2 targets, dagger/warhorn is sligtly better. vs. 3 targets gs sligtly win.
below 50% gravedigger gravedigger gravedigger dead
Actually i use epidemic in fractals quite a lot, sometimes even as power build if the other guys are condi. I can give examples if you want, and its certainly not 1% of the fractals. And zudet you dont have to spread 25burns to be devastating, 25 bleeds + soft cc is pretty good. I could solo lich in labyrinth thanks to epidemic and im not even that good in soloing.
Still not sure if you read my post :/
– Bloomhunger – no adds
– Mossman – wolves, so usefull abit atleast
– Uncategorized Fractal – 4 bosses that you kill 1 at a time, so no add’s (you kill all 4 at end, so a little usefull.. very little
– Urban Battleground Fractal – 1 boss with 1 add, abit usefull but worth a whole slot?
– Molten Furnace Fractal – 1 boss = useless
– Snowblind Fractal – 1 boss = useless
– Cliffside Fractal – 1 boss = useless
– Underground Facility Fractal, Dredge boss – 1 boss = useless
– Underground Facility Fractal, Iceelemental boss – Add’s YES usefull
Do I need to list more of them?
Now, do read my original post again. In open world epidemic is clearly usefull. Its alot of “free” dmg, but for single target? nope, sry
Why do some people say that Chill has a 5 stack cap and others say it has only duration? Is it split in each gamemode? I’ve never seen it stack at all so I’m sort of confused.
Chill stacks in duration, but you can only stack it 5 times.
- So if me and a pall, apply 3 stacks off chill each, with a 1 sec duration pr. stack on the same mob (at the same time), then the mob will get 5 sec of chill on it. Since 5 times 1 sec = 5 sec total. The last 1 stack of chill do not get applyed or it will replace the first stack that was applyed.
Epidemic is severely overrated. Its useless on bosses and on trash you barely have time to actually get a decent epidemic off.
Plus you dont even need to be a condi necro to use epidemic. :P
So spoj you think that necro is weak and epidemic is overrated…i guess you’ve been playing that 20k dps engi build lately and got disappointed by poor necro
I simply think you and spoj are talking about 2 different scenarios, he is talking about fractal/raid bosses (mainly) and you are talking about (I think) open PvE.
When there is 1 boss (no adds) like in 99% of the fractals/and the only raid we have seen so far then Epidemic is fairly useless and Necro (and reapers) apprication of conditions is slow compared to other classes (engi/ranger). if you read spoj’s post again you will see this is what he is talking about.
In open PvE where there 99% of the time is plenty of add’s around the elite/champ/legendary however, Epidemic is amasing, plain and simple.
I to, have been attempting to make a condi reaper build, I am not sure, sadly I feel mainly like dropping the reaper form and go full scepter and only pop into reaper for nr. 4 (poison) or to use nr. 3 (fear). And not use gs untill below 50% for gravedigger spam and then make sure I am standing in a firefield for the burn procs.. this also intale dropping soulreaper trait line since why have it when I barely use reaper form and then take.. blood I guess or something..
all in all I am having a hard time making a reaper condi build that work for single target. For open PvE, np, just use epidemic and you are sett.
DS is a first of its kind. The map close down and reset 100% every 2? hours.
This mean that if you dont jump there at a reset time, then you will get to an emty (new) map, since all the ongoing maps are already full full full.it’s not limited to DS, I have the same problems even on the other jungle maps, even when the game asks me to go in a more populated map I find myself in another empty one most of the times…
That is due to another thing, Anets multi server is still bugged (since HoT came out) in all the new maps. This mean that a new map will be created if more then 20 people jump to the map within 1-5 min.
This again mean that WAY to many maps are being created and some of them fairly quic get closed down again. This is a known bug (just like the party bug), and there is not really anything we can do about it besides wait for anet to fix it.
When all that is said, I only do DS with 80 people on TS, its more fun that way (for me), so I am always in a new map, just after a reset and the map is full (no need for lfg). And the map events go fast and smoth.
I still assume that if you get 5-10 people from your guild and get 3 to tag up and make a lfg with somelike “Org. DS, commanders/foodbuff/herobanner” then the map will be full within 5 min. (I have not tested it, but I fell fairly safe this will work). If you on the other hand dont want to join an already made community and dont want to put abit of work into making the map work yourself. Then yes, I guess you will find it abit hard to get on a good and organised DS map.
First question is what part of ele is it you like to play? vanilla ele is more then one thing. There is the PvE ones: staff (huge dmg). The lightninghammer one and the D7D one. If it is the staff one you already like, then you will love tempest (the traits that is), and the overload since this will make you do even more dmg.
If you are asking about the warhorn, then I dont know anyone using it, but people might just need to find a place for it.
But let us know what kiind of ele you like to play and it becomes easyer to help
I have been running full glass (zerk, sinister or assassin depending on class), on my necro, war, ranger (both a condi and a power) and even my ele. All without problems. Yes, I did die abit more the first few hours then I am use to, but I just changed 1 or 2 utility skills or paid atention to animations (or did not just go afk mid event to get some coffe like I am use to in old tyria) and that was it.
I am btw having a blast on all of the classes.
Lol did you just insinuate people may be shallow cause they don’t want to play a certain character style LOL …. too funny you may need to get out more.
You just need to be in party with a sylvari If you really hate sylvari so bad that you are not able to be in party with one for the 10 min. it takes to do this vary importent achivement.. then I think the achivement is not that importent to you, or that you are shallow, yes. sry.
I mean, its not fair that I need to play wvw to get the wvw achivements or play pvp for the pvp achivements either right?..
anyway.. lol
I run full zerk, armor/tinkets and weapons (I am contemplating stealing my mesmers assassin gaer and pop it on my ele though).
When I have problem with staying alive I look at 2 things:
1: traits/skills. I might swap “signet of fire” out and use “arcane blast” for more healing or “lightning flash” for insta mobility so I dont need to stop my meteor shower mid cast. or change my heal from AB to ER. Or in the traits, I might take “gale song” (new tempest trait) and swap out Arcana trait line.
If I still have a problem, then
2: Think for a sec and see if I was doing something wrong. I know, this is the l2p bla bla bla, but really 90% of the times I die, when I look back I know what I did wrong and what to improve.
I am a casual player and I really dont have a problem staying alive. alot of it is learning ele and where to stand and what skills to use.
I have been playing my revenant abit the last days, more hp and more armor, and I die.. ALL the time.. I am really bad at it.. like REALLY bad, and I dont even really know what to do, but I also know that it will come, in 10 more hours of revenant play I will not die nearly as often and I will be better at placing myself safely.
Re-reading this I know it might come of as the useall l2b bs, pls dont hate I really mean it well, and changing a few of your skills to utilitys will do alot, often more the full soldier, btw, I also run full zerk in wvw (unless its vs. a good guild group that all use retaliation all the time (that thing kills ele’s), but changing traits and utilitys will make you able to stand on the commander and take a … load of dmg without a problem. Go take a look at wvw traits/skills and see if you can adept some of it into your playstyle.
I’m going to piggy back on this… to attune a ring, you need an agonized essence, sold by “dessa’s krew” according to the wiki. I’ve unlocked all my fractal masteries, but nobody is selling this agonized essence. what gives? I’ve only been doing the low and mid level fractals. Does that have something to do with it?
Talk to the golem under the ledge Dessa is on, he’ll teleport you to a merchant.
I dont know if it is fixed, but the npc is/where disabeled for some days due to some bugs, so this might be the reason OP did not see it
