The press client requires an ascended inscription / insignia, which one is true?
This please. If it’s ascended insignias/inscriptions rather than exotic my day just got ruined.
Smooth, Anet. Let’s nerf the one usable heal skill for necros.
In a game where damage-heavy AoE skills are king, blood fiend is unusable. In WvW/GvG it is dead before the fight begins. In PvP it’s targeting/positioning mechanics are horrendous. When it isn’t dead, half the time it isn’t even attacking. In PvE it’s a burden because it unnecessarily keeps you in combat.
Most people would now turn to well of blood. 5/6k self heal with AoE heal ticks. It seems fine but in reality a 40s healing skill is absurd for a necro. We are not guardians who have access to aegis, block on shelter, and renewed focus to sustain us until our heal is back up. And when you think about it realistically, where does an AoE heal have actual usage? Dungeons/fotm? The healing is hardly enough sustain and the light field is undesirable. WvW/GvGs? Only time it would be useful as an AoE heal is on a reset where allies would actually be sitting in the well. Oh wait… it’s a light field. PvP? Good luck not getting a 1 second cast time heal interrupted. It already happens with consume conditions.
But wait. Let’s take necro’s only reliable source of condition removal (stop trying to make dagger offhand and plague signet happen. They’re not going to happen) and increase the cooldown. Oh and let’s add a side-effect that puts conditions back on to them after casting it for kittens and gigs. Cuz I know when I’m trying to remove condis to get out of combat I sure could go for some more condis.
yea naww. yea na. giv us tht ilusionry invig back i need 2 train shatter man. dis BS dude y u gotta h8 on mesmers like dis its not right man.
I have a friend that has only ever played a mesmer since the release of the game. She is by no means an “elite” player, having tons of natural skill, but she has gotten to the point where she does not make any mistakes in dungeons or fotm, and only ever dies if it’s due to a fault of the rest of the party. And although she isn’t really in to pvp/wvw and usually only does them for the dailies, I’ve never seen her lose a fight. It’s pretty insane.
Stacking is messed up for certain items.
For example, I just opened a chest and recieved various boosters such as crafting and XP and they do not stack with my previously collected boosters. Very annoying for bank/inventory purposes.
“But Anet I forged 3 precursors today now u do rollback wtfbbq RAGE RAGE RAGE”
Do you even look at existing threads before posting? There’s already tons of topics on this. Thanks for caring though XD
It’s only the title and achievement points, it’s not like people are getting the HoM skins which is what really matters.
When trying to change my in-game status from online to away or offline the game crashes (post patch)
Anything that doesn’t come directly from the mouth of a GW2 developer/mod is not fact.
Why start a new topic rather than just post in one of the other dozen revenant-themed threads?..
1. Will we be getting a free character slot with the release of the new class like we did in GW1 with dervish, rit, paragon, sin, etc?
2. If only 1 specialization per class will be available in HoT (God I hope there’s at least 2 or whats the point), will more be released in the future?
3. Will there only be 1 version/style of a guild hall that can then be upgraded, or will different guild hall styles (or skins?) be available to choose from.
That’s all for now.
I learn a class best by playing it in endgame content, so I’ll most likely tome it to around level 70 and run dungeons and map cursed shore and whatnot to get it to 80. By then I should have a basic understanding of the class and will start using it for wvw, pvp, etc.
inb4 what they revealed so far is only half of the actual new content
…one can dream
It’s not permanent. They stated you can switch between the specializations if you wanted to.
Where did they state this?
Not because I don’t believe you, but because I’d like to show the post to guildies.
Your couples pictures are cute
maybe open world bosses?
Right, but stronghold will have a GvG option along with a GvG specific leaderboard for guilds to compete in
PvE – Female Human
PvP – Female Asura
I think stronghold mode will be a standard PvP mode now that anyone can play, but yes, it will be used for GvG and have a leaderboard specifically for guild rankings.
It will be longer for the beta since the DEMO AT PAX will be in 6 weeks.
No. Not the beta. The demo. At PAX East. In 6 weeks. NOT THE BETA FOR US.
Tuned in late, but only useful info I got:
Stronghold PvP game mode:
Hire troops, assault strongholds, break gates, kill guild lore (win game). Leaderboard for top guilds with rankings
First demo play @ PAX east in 6 weeks
Best parts about new class:
1. Theorycrafting
2. No meta builds run by everyone and their mom
Channel Prince Rurick? Why would I want a skill that makes me bumrush mobs alone and die every five seconds?
always had to yolo
I’d think it would be the other way around. I see the initial purchase being a moderate amount of influence and merits, with each upgrade costing more and more. I just can’t see anet releasing the long-overdue guild halls which are supposed to be a huge new feature just to have large guilds fully upgrade them on day 1 and start complaining that there’s nothing to do right away again. So hopefully they’re at least a little time gated.
Why do I feel like the playstyle is going to be similar to something like a power necro build? Relatively tanky/high health with mad DPS but minimal escapes.
Please for the love of god let necros and eles use torch
While there’s no word of a NEW weapon type (2h axe for example), all professions will be getting access to a weapon that they previously couldn’t use (rangers with staff).
I’d think the initial purchase won’t be TOO expensive, so that smaller guilds can also have a place to hang out. But as you upgrade/expand I’m sure the prices will increase greatly. Guess we’ll see :^)
Aside from influence which you can save up, I’m assuming you won’t be able to make all the upgrade purchases on day one seeing as how merits are currently limited and are likely to be a part of the purchase/upgrades.
I’m still not understanding the similarities people see with the dervish class. I can see the relationship to the ritualist as it’s wearing a blindfold and the description of “Channel legendary and otherwordly powers.” Plus it looks as though it’s holding some sort of scepter, although it may be a sword.
What- what – wha – wha – What is this? What is this? My sons. My own flesh!
Stop being kittens. Long story short d/d celestial eles are good all around. Their biggest points are that they focus on heal over time with the the signet heal and have burst healing and cc cleansing from water skills and dodge rolling. They also have pretty good DPS burst with the standard fire > earth combo.
Coming from a large guild, the megaserver has caused my guildies and I some serious issues. We do the large-scale, harder content events like tequatl and jungle wurm which normally requires us to get a large amount of guildies and friends into a singl map/overflow. The megaserver system has made this much more difficult. It is also negatively affecting guild missions for large guilds like ours (nearly 500 members) as well as medium-sized guilds. I believe the megaserver should eithr be revoked or overflows should have numbered names similar to GW1 to make it easier to get friends and guildies together. Thank you.
That is an NPC which are known to have weapons/armor that real players cannot access, so kind of just speculation at this point.
I’d just hate to see Anet nerf an area like Queensdale after successfully getting people back into lower level zones through living world.
Why do I get the feeling you are a non-zerker geared player who is not experienced in CoF who went to gw2lfg and tried to sneak your way on to a full zerker team that clearly posted “full zerker and experienced only”?
Don’t roll with the elitists if you can’t hang.
(not saying this is the case, just what it sounds like)
even if your guild start the event you don’t have any rights to stop people that want to complete it, and even worse let them die and shout names at them if they do,
you know what? if i were one of the people you let die in order to keep farming i would call up my entire alliance just to shut you down.
i’m not against farm, you can kill mobs around not exploiting events in order to do so, because this have only one consequence, the loot on this event will be stopped for everyone and only because of you that don’t have any measure of common sense.
if you weren’t all that greedy we could do so many events chains with so much loot in all the maps, but we can’t because you never have enough and you are to lazy to change run from one event to another, you just want the endless one.
this ruin the game fro every single player and this game has no more loot because of this.
you brought it on yourself!!they should ban all of you and put the game loot as it was for the people that actually enjoy the events and don’t fail them on purpose!!
Did you even read what I said?
And to address some of your other points, we do res anyone who gets killed by the giant even if they’re the ones telling us to kitten off and are killing it. We’re not there to be kittenbags. We’re just trying to make some money. We also do every temple event whenever they are up (mainly the Balthazar chain, grenth, and melandru.) We only farm Gates of arah when the others are on cooldown. Basically, we are much more active and helpful to our server than you will ever know. In fact most of the temple and world boss events on our server would take MUCH longer if not fail without our presence.
Pretty much that still
Ok despite what anyone says you CANNOT change the definition of what your doing.
You are taking an event, one that has a specific goal to KILL the rison and champ, and making it continue on over and over without completing it just so it will give you loot beyond what it was ment to give and in turn halting the progress of other players who wish to complete and move further in the game instead of helping them by completing the event.
THIS IS EXPLOITATION pure and simple because you are NOT doing the event as it was designed.
Farming – what your trying to put off as what your doing, means to gather loot around the world, not sit in one place and exploit an event to make it give you loot.
My opinion: this type of exploitation is no better than botting and should be delt with accordingly and is also very rude to others who are there to play as intended!
Most of what you just said is subjective and could be said for around 90% of the methods people use to make gold in this game.
This is the reason some of the recent farming areas have been nerfed (i.e. lyssa), it is negatively affecting gameplay of some players by abusing a mechanic of the game event. I would not be surprised if Anet uses that exact phrase when the nerf to the loot from the grubs and such get removed from the game.
Yet it’s very different from the Lyssa/Union farm. The thing that was so controversial about that was people could literally stack in 1 spot, the mobs would run to them, everyone would just auto attack and loot the pile of corpses at their feet. At least with this event people are required to be active, run around to tag mobs, actually stay alive, and use skills other than auto attack
I don’t think that they have covered all the skills. What about gravitation control, changing form, light and darkness, calling magical creatures, energy prisons and more.
No idea what gravitation control is. Lifting people? Closest thing is knockbacks.
changing form – Norn animal transformations, ele tornado, warrior rampage, necro plague/lich form, and so on
light = light fields, dark = dark fields
magical creatures = ele glyphs of elementals, hounds of balthazar and spirit wolf elites
energy prisons = ele air staff static field, guardian hammer circle ward, necro fear wall, etc.
yes, but that is beside the point. Stop the strawman, this here is not about exploiting or call it clever maximizing your output, but about farmers wanting to tell other people what to do. Noone can complete your CoF 1 run before you claim your reward, the analogy isn´t anywhere close.
You’re the one that took this entire conversation in the direction of exploiting in the first place. I said it before and I’ll say it again, our server/guild/farmers never verbally abuse people wanting to complete the event as fast as possible. We politely ask them to join us in farming and if they choose not to we let it go. Yeah we’re kinda kitten ed off cuz we did all the pre-work and now don’t get to farm, but that’s life. 95% of the time if there’s any verbal abuse it’s coming from the other players themselves and is directed towards us.
You, sir/madame, need to look up ANETs definition of the term exploit.
I posted it about 5 posts up

New Skill and Traits
We’ll begin regularly adding new skills and traits to the game for each profession to expand your characters and builds! You will be able to earn these new traits and skills by unlocking them. To go along with this, we’ll expand the content and options to earn skill points to help encourage players to experience different challenges and content throughout the world. These skills and traits will be designed to be balanced with the existing skills/traits we currently have in the game, and will simply compliment and expand the range of abilities and tactics available to each profession. Both WvW and PvE players can acquire skills and traits, and additional means of earning skill points will be addressed for both core content areas.
The regular addition of skills and traits that you can earn as you play provides us an extremely stable, easily expandable reward system that fits neatly into the pillars of progression and advancement that Guild Wars 2 are all about. Your character will be able to grow and change for years to come without invalidating everything you’ve earned so far.
Sounds like new skills will either be released all at once and just unlocked with new skill points, or the new skills will have to be earned over time somehow.
It’s not really an exploit.
The first defense line of any exploiter. So let me get this straight. The definition of an exploit is the following:
You see a strange behavior happening giving you profit beyond what is normal. You observe that you can repeat it. You repeat it to get profit beyond normal. You’re exploiting.
Prove me that you are not using this pattern to the letter in your case and I’ll withdraw that accusation of exploiting.
Ok so everybody that speed runs CoF p1 is, by that definition, exploiting. It’s the same concept. Don’t try and say “oh somebody just found the best team comp that works really well and their pro skills let them finish the dungeon quickly and repeatedly for good profits.” It’s the same exact thing except one is a PvE event and one is a PvE dungeon.
Also idk where you got your definition of exploit from but the gw2 definition is “You will not exploit any bug in Guild Wars 2 and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of Guild Wars 2.”
I don’t see anything unnatural or unintended about farming an event for loot, especially when that event is going to be completed in due time.
I’m still waiting to get banned after someone reported me for “farming/exploiting” anchorage farm.
We farmers should form a union.
I support this 100%

Oh poor boy.
You exploit and when people want to do it straight you blame them?
I don’t really expect players like you to understand. I’m just giving our half of the story, like it or not.
in which you clearly and extensively explained why and how you “exploit” the event if one would like to classify it as that. I am not blaming you for wanting to farm badly, anet is really strange with their grind heavy content and their antagonism to the grinding process itself, but well, it is that way. blame the game, not the player… especially those who are just playing the game the way they want to play which happens to be in the line of how this event is designed. You can lament that someone breaks your event farming, but certainly not blame him or even abuse verbally.
It’s not really an exploit. Union farming was an exploit. The loot here is on par if not below that of farming CoF. It’s just something different to do that doesn’t make you want to blow your brains out. And I don’t know where the whole verbal abuse notion is coming from. If you’re talking about the chat logs in the pictures posted above that is not my server/guild. We are very polite when asking people to stop killing the giant and invite them to farm with us. If anything it’s the other people trying to do the event cussing us out for not assisting in killing the giant as they stand there and get 2-hit from his attacks.
Oh poor boy.
