Maybe if it was only available to those who have reached 80 once before, sure, but even then I’m skeptical of the idea. I’m not completely against it, just skeptical. It is somewhat appealing to me personally though.
I guess we’ll just have to be more aware of easy-to-spot ambients. A thief is already a great profession in WvW and ambients shouldn’t be a problem for any class.
I was going to say that at least the ambients make things a bit more of a challenge, but in all honesty they really don’t.
Yup! You’ll be able to do that. Try before the 15th though, who knows what hidden things may change then.
Turn off auto targeting and you won’t hit ambients.
It was hacked and you’re sitting here posting on it. I think it might be fine.
+1, great idea. Not much to say.
I’m not even one of the people that has bought multiple skins from the gem shop (though I’ve spent hundreds in general), but I can see why people would want to be compensated for doing so. All of the examples above dictating that this person shouldn’t be compensated are, quite frankly, not well thought out.
If ArenaNet doesn’t want to compensate someone for supporting their game with virtual items, then that’s on them. But they must have thought of the consequences of not doing so.
This person and many people like him have spent a lot of money on this game. Compensate them because they will continue to do so in the future. If they don’t continue spending money, there is no loss except for a few minutes of support time on ArenaNet’s end. If ArenaNet shuns people that spend money on the game, then they should be prepared for the consequences.
I have a feeling that most people against compensation are simply players that don’t spend money past the initial purchase…
There is no loophole. You need to account bind the Eternity to be able to have the skin. Two posters already said something like this above and got ignored.
EDIT: Three now, got ninja’d
You can see their class when you target them. In a group and need to focus on someone? Hold Ctrl and click on them to target them. I don’t know of anyone that looks at armor to see which class someone is. Can’t a guardian look exactly like a warrior? Yes.
We still have nine days left. They’ll likely come back.
Just a heads up, as a lot of people have been waiting for these to come back on sale.
See this topic for updates on what’s been sold so you’re not stuck waiting for something that may have passed: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/March-Sale-item-record/
Miniscule? Right…
I do completely agree, but it’s simply not going to happen. GW2 has a great amount of convenience items, but you have to pay for convenience several times over if you have more than one character. And they do make money like that. How much more over account-wide upgrades I wouldn’t know, but they seem to be doing just fine having the system make you repurchase everything for each character.
Convenience gathering tools becoming too inconvenient to bank for your alts? Buy more!
Which is why I haven’t bought any, even after the soul bound versions were removed. I can’t be inconvenienced by something that’s supposed to be convenient.
You should even be able to solo many group events. Guilds aren’t a requirement and I never did this, but many people look to join one to have people to party up with and do map completion together. It’s easy enough to find active guilds with friendly people.
I personally just solo my way to 80 and have been fine doing that.
It’s certainly a standard MMO term, but with as many of these topics popping up, you’d think there would be some in-game definition directly on the item itself. Wiki is a great tool, but I wouldn’t count on most people knowing you can even search via the game like that. And it shouldn’t really be a requirement to figure out what a term means.
For people that don’t play MMOs, “unique” looks like “it’s a special item” and nothing more. And you can buy more than one, so technically the item description isn’t all that helpful. Plus, it seems that ascended trinkets are the only items with the tag, so it’s not a standard item description in GW2 itself.
At least around 400 USD, though I don’t think I’ll be spending much more. Maybe a couple more 10-20 purchases, but I’m kind of done spending so much on a game.
And people wonder why I prefer subscription games with no cash shop. >_<
EDIT: Been playing for around 7 (?) months.
Welcome aboard! Glad you’re enjoying yourself. I personally think this is the best MMO I’ve played and I’ve been around the block a few times. Just don’t be discouraged with some of the stuff you may see on the forums. The opinions on here generally aren’t popular opinion and the people that enjoy the game are normally found in the game.
Now they’re account bound rather than soul bound, so you can use one set for all of your characters. With the added convenience of banking all the time.
Just to add to this thread that im also getting random DC’s and my fiance is also getting them. She appears to be having it worse off than me though as she is lucky to get an hours play before it DC’s her.
Myself it happens 1-3 times a day and all at random periods but I tend to see the huge lag spikes then notice nothing firing off and everything stops and then I realise im about to get dc’d.
My machine and my fiance’s machine are in different locations and we are on different ISP’s and use different security software.
If it helps in on EU and the server is Piken Square and this only came about for me when EOTM was introduced.
Same server, same problem. Only for me the bolded part happens every 1-2 minutes. This started happening today, though a lot of problems were apparent last night. And some more minor ones with the latest update that were easily ignored. But now it’s at a point of being literally unplayable.
My internet and computer are perfectly fine to run the game and have been for months.
If you don’t RP, don’t go for TC. Ain’t nobody got time fo dat drama.
You should definitely just play an Engineer if that’s what you want to play. I PUG a lot and I only kick a player if they’re not even trying/listening, but never based on class. Though I am considered to be very patient, I haven’t noticed anyone in my PUGs trying to kick someone based off of class.
This happened to me and a few others as well, after the update. It may be a bug. Mine tends to resize larger than I normally have it, but luckily I like the inventory being fairly large on-screen.
China will have its own version. This won’t happen for the western servers, as they’re English-only (aside from the specific German/French servers).
expansions take a long time, its pretty unlikely they could have one this year when they havent even conceptualized one yet
This is false. They have a separate team working on “larger content releases” other than the Living World releases. There’s an in-depth article floating around that’s not even 2 (?) months old.
So the wurm can only be done by those with full ascended armor? Okay.
The only reason I knew it was real money only was because I followed the threads in the forums. The wording itself was not clear.
I don’t know, I thought it was obvious, personally.
customers who purchase
In early January, you will receive your gift based on gems you purchase and gem codes you redeem
Both of those kind of indicate that you buy gems with real money since that’s what purchasing is. Converting gems with gold via the trading post would be converting and not purchasing.
Nice one :P
“kind of indicate” =/= “obvious”
Anyway, we can purchase things in GW2 with either gems or gold, so, yeah. I think this sort of info should be worded in as clear a way as possible and not require forum clarification.
I was being polite, so I chose to word my paragraph that way. But you want the kitten way of saying it? It’s so obvious that you need to spend money to get these rewards that thinking otherwise is idiotic.
It is clear. It’s very clear. Read the other posts. You don’t “purchase” gems with gold. You trade, convert, or exchange gold for gems. You don’t purhase gems with gold. You trade 1 USD for 0.73 EUR, you don’t purchase Euros.
Thanks, dude. See, everyone? This is why we can’t have nice things.

I’m sorry you didn’t get them, though. But hey, they’re nothing special anyway! I have mine and I don’t even know what to do with them.
They should just remove the account bound status.
1-5: weapon skills
z, x, c, v: utility + elite
w, a, s, d: movement (a and d are strafing left and right, not turning the camera. That’s done with the right mouse button)
e: interact
q: dodge
r: autorun
Most of the rest is default, I believe. This works for me very well since I still have my mobility while activating skills, since all I need to do is bring one finger up or down.
That’s quite a lot of gold. I’d probably send a support ticket about it first:
People can give whatever they want to give, you’ll be fine.
EDIT: Though it depends on how much he’s sending. You can be flagged for large amounts.

While they haven’t said there’s an “expansion” being worked on, there is indeed a separate team working on larger content, as the Living World team is a different team. Whatever they want to call it, expansion or not, there is something large being worked on. Beyond that, nothing else has been said. They’re contemplating how they should release these larger chunks of content, so I’m assuming they’re looking at the risks of selling them vs offering them for free with your original purchase. Though that part’s just speculation on my end.
I have some cookie issues with the site. A lot of the time I have to log in again, even after a couple of page loads. But I have my browser set to remember my username and password, so I just click the login button and I’m good to go for a bit.
If you need the locations or any guides for the jumping puzzles in the game: http://jumpingpuzzle.com/
All of the jumping puzzles give achievement points, so they’re nice to do if you’re looking at those beautiful achievement chests!
I have around 600 hours playtime and I have never seen anyone discriminating solely because of low AP. Neither have I seen someone require other to be above a certain AP and neither have I seen anyone ever mention that High AP = High Skill so I have no idea where you got that from.
It actually happens fairly often. Open up the LFG tool and you should see plenty of groups wanting 4-5k+ AP for their speed runs.
EDIT: ninja’d
Some nodes are random whereas some always spawn in the same spot. The one’s that are random generally replenish faster than the 23-hour regular node.
I really like both of those, nice job! I’d personally just get two sets, but if you only want one of those… I suppose I’d go with the first look.
I wouldn’t say the complaints were from a minority. Plus ArenaNet has said themselves that cultural armor will stay cultural. I doubt they’d leave it and not bring in a new set as promised — it’d be pretty bad PR otherwise.
Just a tad over a month and only about four puzzles left to complete. Besides the puzzles, we’ll look to start adding some unique content and guides during the new year!
We also have our “groups” directory up and ready to go here: http://jumpingpuzzle.com/groups/
You can create your own group — whether it’s for a guild, a group for a particular server, or anything in between. When creating a group, you can administrate it yourself, add moderators, and you’d have your own activity feed and forum. Setting it to private or public is totally up to you. Here’s a little preview image of what a group can look like: http://i.imgur.com/6L7AdWs.jpg
In the next few days I’ll be writing up some things to help people get started and what Jumping Puzzle has to offer everyone.
If you haven’t already, sign up and create your own group!
I’m not saying that I don’t agree with you, but a +10 Agony Infusion worth over 100g makes the extractor worth it. I’d definitely like to see a lower price, but ArenaNet knows exactly what they’re doing with the price it’s at.
EDIT: post directed at Mosharn.
Whether you’re on EU or NA, there are Tequatl guilds that kill him on a daily basis. Tequatl will net you around 16k karma per kill.
I believe it’s priced as such because they’d likely be used to remove infusions from ascended equipment. Especially for those that use Agony Resist +10 and higher infusions, you’d be saving a lot of gold. Those that also want to save their time-gated laurels by not destroying their current infusions will find them helpful as well.
Definitely don’t use them for standard superior runes.
The first poster answered the question, but if you’re wondering if the Grenth Hood is permanent after purchase, then it is. I only add this because of the way the question was phrased. I’m not sure if that’s what you were asking. In either case, question answered! It will be gone from the store after Wintersday, most likely.
That’s a lot of balancing to do; that’s the reason they don’t want to add an entirely new class to the game. Too many balancing issues. But yes, fixing what we currently have is definitely the way to go. I don’t need new utilities, personally.
It’s not necessarily true that WvW and PvE builds won’t work and that it needs to be one or the other. Everything is viable in PvE, whether in PUGs or a dedicated group. Full berserker is generally the way to go in PvE and I fully endorse it, but I’m also not the type to leave someone hanging if they’re not full zerker. Because everything works in easymode.
Since you asked if others have had this problem, neither me or my girlfriend have had an issue with buying gems with Paypal after the billing update changes. I’d definitely suggest sending a support ticket to get this resolved a bit faster. ArenaNet won’t say no to your money! Haha.
Saving that 1c, it’s uber important!
I don’t think they’ve said whether the items would be account bound or not, but I think that’s a fair assumption to make at this point.
You don’t always need to buy Black Lion Chest Keys to get them. You’re also not paying for the extras in the BLC, you’re getting what you paid for, plus a gift for nothing extra out of your end. So from the definition you posted — it is a gift.
I did this just a couple of weeks ago. I crafted everything to 400 and was at level 62 by the end.
While you should wait for an official answer and take mine with a grain of salt, I’m fairly sure it’s an accumulated calculation rather than spending either $10 or $50.
