Roaming is ruined as has been so since they tried to add stuff for roamers like bloodlust; LOL

And sentries that mark you on the map when solo or duo plus buffing condi which were already strong and not designed for small scale.

Gamemode is not fun and not even playable anymore.

If you think fighting condi mesmer and condi thieves all day long is fun you need shooting in the face.

it feels bad as given a choice over cash grab or gameplay they choose the former everytime.

I have lost all trust in this company and will not be purchasing any product they will be releasing in the future.

I personally would prefer if you looked at sounds in relation to gameplay and pvp balancing rather than always be cosmetic or QOL improvements or gem shop related….

I.e Many attacks due to the power creep and overpowered HOT skills and weapons could do with more telegraphing due to their hard hitting natures. Why not focus on adding extra wooshing sound effects which supplement the minimal telegraphs some of these new abilities and attacks bring the the game.

You should really be prioritising and focusing your efforts to fix these kinds of issues over fluff and gem shop items before your customers become cynical and leave for pastures new as your balancing seems to take a backseat to all your other “qol fixes”.

AOE cap is the same in WvW as downed state; it’s handholding at its worst by anet.

The last thing they want is 5 good players standing any chance vs 20 windowlickers.

They will place as many artificial mechanics and hard counters in place to ensure this as possible.

Anyone that says a group of 5 would suffer due to such a change no idea. The 20man attacking us would hit the same but we could stand a chance if they all stop healing, don’t use reflects, all stand together with maybe some afk and have a chance to win.

I think this games combat is more broken and boring than ever right now.

Risk vs reward… there is no logical balance. Also many previous changes seem to be contradicted with this patch.

Gameplay is ultimately numbers and fustrating mechanics at present. Catering for the lowest common denominator.

I detest people that feel the need to make comments and crap on opponent after they just killed them ie the “so bad” comment.

Fact is he can’t even hear you makes you look dumb as well as ungraceful in victory.

If there was history and they had been griefing you however I could make allowances, everything has context ofc.

Asking for the turrets to go btw is of no use. They have demonstrated they know nothing and are unable to do anything to immprove pvp in this game without a complete overhaul of the pvp dev team. To backtrack will just be embarrassing for them. Many people were giving Anet one last chance with these pvp updates as they finally have other options on the horizon.

Small scale? Your having a laff. Siege and CC spamming npcs make this a blob map like everything else in this game is non commpetitive and tedious.

Most of my fights consist of downing someone in a 1v2 or 1v3 totally outplaying them but them using downed state plus other stalling abilities to wait for more people who either kill me stomping or rezz up the person I have killed and force me to retreat.

I do this over and over until I realise its totally pointless and log.

This happens majority of fights, noone comes to fight me unless they have help in form or npcs or other players nearby. Why should they?

Btw I have small scaled mostly to silver rank (600+) but when I login now I have no desire to even play WvW anymore as it’s lack of fair fights, sportmanship and the skill caps in place.

This is the same nearly all servers, I have tried about 12 they are all the same NA > EU

Game is full of casual pvers who care more about loot than real pvp. The do not want sport, they pander to the pointless carrot on a stick anet rewards them with for zergings the kitten out of people with less numbers than them; if they die no biggy they are rezzed in seconds and can loot the bags.

ie The issue is downed state favoring larger numbers, AOE cap to give them invinciblity and the reward system.

END OF THREAD. No point in slandering individual servers when the mechanics govern the way this game is played.

There is no sportsmanship hardly at all in this game, selfish players who come in and expect you to let them kill you over and over so they can complete their daily or ones which join only with numerical advantage to gain further easy rewards with minimal effort.

Very little want to actually compete in a fair environment in hot-joins, most will join with 1 or 2 guildies so every time you encounter them you will be triple-teamed and which the downed mechanic gives u no chance.

Buy an SSD, install windows and program files and maybe one or two of your most often played games on it and you will see a massive change.

Two simple improvements are needed. There has been numerous necro posts regarding these issues that still have not been addressed even though they have been persistent since launch:

Disappearing mouse pointer in low fps or heavy particle effect situations. This seems to be made worse by the fact you have to hold right button for mouse-look which makes it hard to locate on-top of the terrible coloring scheme and poor optimization which leads me onto points 2…

Optimization has improved recently but there is still no fix for geforce cards (I have a gtx460) and smoke particle effects. This horrible game-breaking fps lag when engineers bombard you with grenades (which cause smoke) or camp fires etc all cause massive loss of frame rates making it impossible to even pan the camera properly.

Can these please be fixed now?

Btw I played in a better guild with better players than VCY. But you lot in your FOTM copied builds made me stop playing last night as you are no fun to fight and I would never use the world better, just the word sadder.

No I lost to twice the amount of players from a “respected” guild who mostly used these as a crutch.

The same way VCY stacked guardians and 2 min retal in the previous meta. Skillful play or just kittens I let others decide.

I will clarify my point and would like to point out that specific incombat REZ utilitys are perfectly fine. The issue I have is rez speed combined with the aoe cap (5 people standing on the person you downed and unable to finish with ranged damage).

The only skill you need in GW2 is to stack and spam INTERACT atm.

I have two:

Remove skill ability delay lag

OR Remove the ability for a blob to instantly rez downed people so they never loose, so when you kill 4 or 5 of the slackers you actually thin their numbers down and have a CHANCE of winning.

My second suggestion will stop blobs growing and growing and out rezzing your damage when outnumbered.

I have all the time… Ever since the changes to trickshot not heatseeking, now seemingly randomly my cluster bomb explosions (when you hit 2 twice) doesnt do any dmg…

I think a big part of the zerging is allowing people to revive so quickly with superior numbers outweighs being able to stomp or aoe them with smaller numbers.

When you are stomped you should instantly be teleported to spawn. Stop people lying there spying abusing corpses, it would also give smaller groups a chance if well played and would remove so much of the fustration that comes with WvW and it just purely being a numbers game. No way to whittle down an opposing force atm and this is why everyone zergs, max reward, if you die you loose nothing at all as you are insta rezzed even when you fail.

Also 20 people killing one person should NOT give potentially 20 bags (one to each zergling) and the same fixed WXP to EACH person who tagged. Split the rewards equally so they get merely 1/20th of the reward each. Where does this extra loot magic itself from? Does Anet feel the need to reward people that don’t really deserve?

There should be no penalties for winning strategies, evolve and adapt around blobs or join them. If you don’t like fighting large groups of people, there is always T8 and sPvP.

As a side note, even I think the AoE limit should be increased to at least 10 targets.

I’m in this tier and I can inform you that you are completely wrong.

These winning “strategies” you speak of are crap and need to be changed.

Maybe the reward system should be looked at. This problem seems to have spread to lower tiers now with the wxp system as it is atm.

People are rewarded for blobbing and zerging, the exp for the new ranking system plus the loot bags support this.

Please promote rewards for small scale activities and the risks they entail. Make it so loot exp and bags are capped when killing a solo with a blob of 50 people perhaps? Try NOT to REWARD brainless activities, leeching and lack of responsibility as this is quickly turning off your playbase I believe.

Lag was bad before, now its worse.

I think you need to add a strapline to your sales pitch to let people who buy this game know that WvW is not playable at weekends.

If this was a store bought product it would be returned and deemed not fit for purpose.

I quit high tier WvW and left an awesome guild due to lag, moved to T9 to escape. Worked until it gets busy or you enter EB.

Lower player caps or sack the person who implemented culling. Hell I would even prefer loosing a faction and having two way battles if this was made playable.

I think those that zerg and never have to revive as they just get instantly rezzed over and over and continually farm the exp for new rank with no skill other than following everyone else and spamming aoes are happy with this mechanic. They have no need to learn to play (this is the majority of your userbase it seems, people are motivated by rewards not personal skillful play or accountability).

Those of us who like to roam or avoid the insane lag, duo or roll with smaller groups this game is just a stop gap and we are waiting for a suitable alternative.

You can’t even thin down the zerg in this game no matter how well you do and how many you finish as if they are on voice comms will all stack up spam revive and just overwhelm you eventually no matter how well you “learn to play”.

I hate the downed state in PVP. It favours and rewards zerging like most mechanics in this game (even the new ranking system favours that also).

If I have a 1vX fight whilst outnumbered its fustrating as hell to have to kill the same person 3 times over. It’s even more annoying with 2-3 people outhealing your damage and not even fighting back until they have rezzed everyone your trying to kill (I try to use heal debuffs).

I do not believe this is skillful play nor shows any fantastic teamwork. Stealth rezzing and some downed abilities which stall you long enough makes stomping problematic.

Half a raid rallying off a random mob also needs looking at.
If people die they should not be able to be revived by people who are still in combat.

Come on people isn’t this logical?
