Tbh I would be fine with confusion if it simply didn’t apply to healing skills and auto attack skills.

Maybe make it so that their damage output is kitten, right? I mean, that would only be fair. their crits SHOULD hit for negative dmg, right? Why don’t we beef up revealed to 3 minutes because everybody just hates it when they stealth, too?

A friend told me the best way to do this is to buy orian trinket boxes or something of the like. I’m not interested in any items from karma vendors.

Is this true? If not, is there a better way?

Go through gate portals after teleporting to them in their downed states?

Elementalists can mist form through them, warriors can get up and walk straight through them…

Why can’t I go through them by teleporting?

Try a bowl of curry soup I believe… +10% crt dmg and 100 precision.
Sharpening stones or maintenance oils will provide you with extra power.

Why the kitten do people complain about thieves perma stealthing? If a thief is doing this in a battle they ain’t doing kitten in terms of damage.

I hope not, I actually thought d/d was going to be a decent build once again.

As a fellow Elementalist, I can tell you right now that we can escape much more easily than any other profession (aside from thieves, who stealth and disengage). It is a tad bit OP but I think this can easily be fixed by making cripple and chilled affect all movement abilities including ride the lightning, burning speed, the roll on updraft, and mist form as long as it was applied previously to skill activation etc. etc.

This will hopefully bring the Elementalist (I have no grudges against Eles, I sure do enjoy playing mine) down to par with the rest of the professions in terms of escaping and simply buzzing around like a mad man.

I dislike how the wildlife always disrupt PvP. I know it’s not that big of a deal but animals serve no purpose in WvW, why are they there other than to stack sigils, which can be done on enemy players…

I’ve always had trouble with confusion mesmers and engineers. I don’t want to QQ here, but I believe that from my personal experiences, Confusion can be extremely punishing, dare I say, overpowered when there are multiple stacks tacked on. I’m sure many people don’t even realize they have Confusion on them until it’s too late and they’ve spammed a buttload of abilities.

I like the idea of Confusion. It’s a neat concept – it sort of taunts the enemy in the sense that, “Hey bud, attack me at your own risk DO ANYTHING AT ALL AND YOU WILL EXPERIENCE SURPRISE BUTTSECKS.”

While also my main point being that multiple stacks can dispatch of foes much to quickly. I’m not sure how we could go about making this less unforgiving other than by simply nerfing it, or making it a constant damage scaled by health and stacking duration instead of intensity.

I, along with everybody in my party was kicked from WvW, and are now unable to enter. We get error code 19:9:17:3133:101. I don’t know what could have caused this as I wasn’t tampering with any of my PC’s settings while I was playing :P.

I tried re-logging to no avail.

I wouldn’t mind this if entails respawning at a waypoint.

I chose Valkyrie for it’s Power, Crit, and VITALITY.

Hidden Killer is definitely a good idea if you want to use a weapon other than dagger in your offhand to keep backstab very menacing to enemies.

And for Thieves, you’ll want more HP over toughness as if you didn’t end the fight fast then you’ll probably want to high-tail it out of there.

This guy has some amazing tutorials for Thief sPvp.

The thing is, you can take this information and utilize it in WvW and PvE and you will learn a GREAT deal more about how to make your profession more efficient.

I reguarly hit 9.5k using backstab.

The only bunker gear available to thieves is the Soldier’s gear, which comes in the Invader’s armor bought with Badges of Honor.

Defensively, I’d say go with P/D as Black Powder can be freaking amazing against anything use melee attacks.

As for using a shortbow, that’s a definite yes.

I believe D/P and D/D are used more often by the top Thieves than anything else. I’m positive that D/P is becoming a fav in tournament team play in sPvP.

It feels like there is such a small amount of people in each map, yet there are queue times?

Just wondering if I wasn’t alone here.

Although I am specifically talking about WvW mechanics, this should be applied to all aspects of combat.

Basically there needs to be a limit or cap on how many disabilities you can take in x amount of time. It’s kind of annoying get ganked up by one person or multiple people who keep using abilities that incapacitate or disable vital aspects of your ability to fight.

Similarly to the way there is a restriction on how many people AoE damage effects, there needs to be an amount of incapacitation abilities a player is allowed to experience before they are immune from any further for x amount of time.

The point of this is to prevent extended or repetitive periods of incapacitation.

I hope you all agree.

So after buying half of my exotic set, I’ve realized that it is not the one that would be best for my play style. Would my best bet be to use Black Lion Salvage Kits on it since I can’t sell it back to the TP?

It’s Berserker’s Emblazoned armor (Exotic, Req level = 80), and I would like to buy Valkyrie’s Emblazoned armor.

Whenever I make a new character and want to level through it as fast as possible, this is the route I take:

Levels 1 through 17: Achieve 100% completion in your race’s starter zone.

Levels 17 through 35: Farm the event chain in Kessex Hills. The first event in this chain is located southwest of the Greyhoof Meadows Waypoint. You will need to break centaur worker morale to prevent bridge repairs, run southwest to the Overlord’s Greatcamp to kill the three centaur lieutenants, and lastly defeat the centaur overlord near Meremoot Hill. After that, just run back to the bridge and rinse and repeat.

Levels 35 through 45: Farm the event chain in Harathi Hinterlands. This event’s chain begins by stopping the centaurs from recapturing their camps. You will want to focus on Northpasture camp northwest of the Junction Camp Waypoint in Cloven Hoof Pass. There is usually a zerg of people here who will help you with these events. After defending the camp you will need to escort a nearby Captain to the Modniir Gorge where you will assault Kingsgate. The next step is to keep the Modniir from retaking Kingsgate. Despite common perception, you will actually want to fail this event to allow the chain to reset faster. If you complete the entire chain, then it will take MUCH longer to reset. Just go back to Northpasture camp to rinse and repeat.

Levels 45 through 70: Farm the event chain in Bloodtide Coast north of the Jelako Waypoint on Jelako Cliffrise. The event chain begins by defending the Hylek village from Risen. I would recommend failing this event. You will get a reward for attempting it, followed immediately by the opportunity to retake the village for even more experience. After this, you will need to escort one of the villagers to a cave southwest of the village to gather eggs. After that, just rinse and repeat. Also, take note that the escort event is player-started, so find the villager and run the event ASAP.

Levels 70 through 80: Farm the event chain in the Staits of Devastation. It begins at the Lonepost Waypoint northwest of Shark’s Teeth Archipelago. You will need to defend the post from waves of risen. After this, you will need to escort a group of pact soldiers to the conservatory near the Blighted Battlegrounds. There you will kill a Veteran Risen Wizard. Make sure to get the chest there before you leave (I’m not sure about it’s respawn time).

I admit that the level threshold during the Jelako Cliffrise event chain is pretty large, so that’s where I would probably do some crafting to raise my level to prevent extreme boredom due to the repetition.

Hey guys, working on my second level 80 account. Unlike my first one, I preferred to explore rather than camp event chains. Now that I’ve done the routine and would like to level as fast as I can, what are some good event chains that I can do for exp? I know in Orr there were a few karma trains that I enjoyed. Are there any things that are for lower levels (I’m currently level 31 on my new character) that are pretty interesting and have some alright rewards? Events geared to all levels would definitely be useful info!

edit: So far I’ve been focusing on the event chain in Kessex Hills involving the Centaurs.

1. There should be no downed state. Besides, be can always still revive if you’ve been defeated.

2. Fix the Badges of Honor system. There should be more ‘definite’ ways of receiving these as well as more reasonable rewards for them.

3. There should be a limit of the amount of stuns/immobilizations/dazes/knock downs, etc. that can be applied to you in a certain period of time. For example, if I get immobilized by a Guardian, then I should not be able to become crippled/stunned/immobilized, etc. for x seconds to prevent from becoming incapacitated repeatedly for an extended amount of time.

4. A better targeting system, especially against mesmers. For some reason, my targeting is always automatically swapping between a mesmer and their clones, as if the game itself was tricked by their illusions…

I’ll add more as I think of them, and remember, these are just my thoughts.

Please kick Blackgate out of here already. I always enter WvW with the Outmanned bonus and it really gets annoying. It’s not a fair fight. It’s a 4:1 ratio at all times. ._.

I’ve just hit level 80 for the first time on my Thief. I managed to pull some funds together to grab some rare gear, but where I can buy Exotic weaponry, specifically daggers? Do I have to craft them, or can I buy them? I would love to spend some of this excess karma…

It keeps kicking me out of the game, and when I try to log back in, I get this. This has been happening for the past few days.

Alrighty. What I think I’m going to do is get some exotic armor and transmute it over to the looks of the Order of Whispers outfit.

One last questions – are there tiers for weaponry? Currenly I have masterwork dagger and pistols, is there a way I could get better?

Is Assassin’s armor exotic or rare?

Where would I go about getting exotic armor?
