Hi Arena,

I find the new Lion’s Arch after a few days after patch 23 June 2015, we have to endure more load screens as there are so too few waypoints and too wide spaces.

But in a non-combat area, its just not practical.

Could Arena look into the following:

  • More waypoints
  • More Crafting stations at different corners
  • More repair stations (near FoTM and WvW)

Because of this New LA designed. I only go LA now for FoTM. Other than that, I do want to avoid the load screens.

The old LA is a lot better designed than the New LA.

There is a repair station by FoTM and WvW it’s an anvil right at the back where you exit from PvP. I like the New LA a lot more. But the merchants seem to be all huddles together. But its good I suppose, it stops players all hanging out in one area, and leaving the rest of the city like a ghost town.

I know where all the repair stations are. THE POINT is LOAD SCREENS! REDUCE THEM. Get ARENA to put some Quality of Life. LA should be improved not just in better paints and scenery. BUT functionality is the other half.

The problem is load screens. Time is precious and looking at the load screens 4 times just to get into a dungeon alone is annoying.

Most of the players are outside of US. Load screen can be annoying it’s like playing “We Save This City” over and over again till you get sick of it.

It’s not hard for them to place waypoints at the right place. If it’s designed right. This should be a step forward from the Destroyed LA. Not two steps backward.

  • Imagine if you have to run a few time between crafting station to Mystic Toilet.
  • Maybe you can port to the Mystic Toilet from crafting station but load screen is not fun. Unless you live in US and server is within 10,000 km distance.

Secondary question, though.
Since group-selling (taxis/paths/dungeons) are confirmed as legit, are there policies in place about how to handle scams/griefing? Or is that still very much “buyer beware” for those willing to buy/sell LFG spots?

Unfortunately, CS is seldom able to get a clear view on scams of this type. Tracking who agreed to what, and who promised to provide this service or that service is difficult to verify, especially when some of the arrangements are made or finalized outside the game (on Vent, TeamSpeak, Skype, etc.)

So every transaction of this nature is simply, by necessary, considered “Buyer and/or seller beware.” If the team is able to verify that a scam took place, they may be able to act upon the account of the scammer, but that would not involve returning lost items or currency or the fulfillment of the player-to-player “contract.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: TP fees are my insurance, as a player. They’re my protection as both a buyer and seller. Dodging fees might sounds attractive, in theory, but I’ve seen too many nasty outcomes to even consider doing trades or sales without using the game system that was built specifically to support those transactions.

Very easy, just place a flag in on these players that gets their hands on

  • precursor or legendary via in-game mail.
  • or large sum of gold

Reverse the sale, in Gw2, Arena can be God. Gold and items gets returned to their original owners. With a warning mail to both.

New LA is more about looks and less about optimizing the distances between the different services. Try Ebonhawk or the Royal Terrace.

Same issue here with the extreme chatty of player audio even not of my class.

Just happened 10 minutes ago. I use an elementalist – human. No one is near my character and i am at the cave – Genderran rich iron ore mountain.

I hear player shouts of all profession, male/female/race you name it.

I just heard “Go forth my minion.” – female voice.

Problem is, arena should flag all these string that remotely resemble a scam. If it walks like a duck, quack like a duck, looks like a duck. it is a duck.

Arena be smart and tighten the bolts (start with the gold selling). There are more junk on the internet than legit info due to anonymous nature of a transaction.

Just like the scam products they put on “As Seen on TV”, they only need to scam a small fraction of the viewers through mass media. Same goes to GW2 chat broadcast, but on the TV we get the options not to switch on to that channel. We cannot completely block whispers from random accounts, or map shouts.

Tighten all these gold sellings, kick them out and perma ban them. These guys are not playing the game. they are like a virus and bacteria that lives off a host (in this case GuildWars2) and their food is the 100% legit community.

Unfortunately one of them went to the link, and his game account is now hacked and getting tons of marketing spam to his mobile phone.

As of last week, when he got hacked, could not get support from any of the Arena Channels.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to succeed a defend event. Instead of making it desirable to let an event fail so you can do the recapture event, they should make it more desirable to have the event succeed. Usually I would say this would be to make the defend event better, but I think in this instance it may be preferable to instead add an alternative that reduces the reliance on the re-capture event.

Doing that event, achieve nothing. You get less. You waste more of your time and other people’s time.

You do not get Dragonite Ore. You do not get the chest. which is repeatable on every single characters you have.

Waste of time depends on what the player is doing the event for.

Not everyone plays the games for the reward. Or cares how quickly they get to the best gear in the game.

And in open world PvE, short of Teq and Wurm and the Pavillion, how I want to play does not need to take into consideration how others want to play as long as I’m not breaking any rules of the game to do so.

Totally agree with you. Which is why Mega server is a bad idea when we mix tier-1 servers with rock bottom tier servers. BAD IDEA on mega server.

If they made the defend events comparably difficult to the recapture event and allow the defend event to count for “daily reward” of that temple it would be fine in my opinion. This would be a better alternative to removing them all together. I’d rather see the statues stay inactive rather than having to fight past lyssa or melandru statues all the time. (The other statues are just annoying but not that difficult.)

Diazkincade, That would be sensible and mature answer. maybe half the reward. As its, the statue aura or their debuffs are still on.

I need to block seraph. So I hope in new patch, of mega server. we avoid these type of players.

Hi Arena,

The Temple defend has been getting more and more annoying. To a point, It brings back my feelings of stopping this game, if arena allows this.

We have players that complain they have too much dragonite ore, and just because of that, they can ruin everyone’s Dwayna/Lyssa event. Little did he/she know she needs to refine it, and need 5 ingot to make one piece.

And to min-max a character/play-style for different situations, you have to make at least 2-3 sets of weapons with different sigils and stats.

Please bring back the old Server. Drop the mega server. Else make sure tie up the loose ends on major events. Or Give us alternative way to get decent dragonite ore. we can forget about world boss (lowlevel) drops are too pathetic to be bothered vs time wasted. The more annoying thing is all the temples start same time.

With the Orichalcum gw2nodes not working now, I don’t even bother to come to this map. And when I am here. its annoying to see players like those.

We see more annoying players and trolls. Sometimes its just type-2 noobs.

Btw I’m not that upset. I’d just rather not have to devote 2-3 hours a day clicking on grey rocks on 4 different maps with 3 toons to get what I want.

I don’t buy any these materials because most of them are bots or from flippers (those who inflate the price and don’t use the mats themselves thinking they are Donald Trump in Gw2).

I just logged in after a long time not going on my main (ele) to do world boss or large group events as fear of frustration of skill queue-ed and getting stuck.

Surprisingly. at Jorlag event 3 hours after server reset, my at the end of Phase 1 and entire Phase 2, my ele seems to be skill queue-ed and constant rubber banding.

I can’t play my ele with this bug, and I stop playing thief (other than farming). Now what ?

Someone asked for acknowledgment. You got it! Bill is active in this thread as other devs may be as well, but here’s a little added note:

Some of you have noticed improvements, and that’s good. We’re aware that others still are having latency issues, particularly our Mac users. The team is working on the issue/issues.

While there’s no precise timeframe for a roll-out, the Production Director (that’s one of our top guys) stopped by last night to specifically state that this was actively being worked on. See this post. I think that’s relevant and should reassure you these issues are on the to-do list.

It just brings out so much negative impression to Anet when bugs like this happens.

I’m not a mac-user. Problem for me was fixed 2 days ago on first optimization patch together with the Living Story, then yesterday after a few patch the problem is back.

I have no FPS issue. And FPS is never a problem in any game. it’s the feeling of responsiveness when your hands trigger a button, which is more important.

As of this message, I just got DC from Lyssa 10 min ago, when its down to 15%, and when i got back from DC, I get no loot. Please stop this world boss junk. It’s a nice name but bad implementation. You get bad name. means it’s bad for business. Make it instance, and people need to register and also needs to have sufficient players to register before it even starts/transport us to a different instance.

You guys need to hire Signs of Kelani. He said it all and ARENA you MUST LISTEN when your customer speaks.

Were there any optimizations for AMD CPUs?

Theoretically everyone should see an improvement.

Except people running the OSX client who seem to be reporting drastic decreases in FPS to almost unplayable levels on decent spec machines.
(I’d appreciate not being told to write this in the OSX Support thread because it does not have any sort of dev presence in it so I may as well be talking to a brick wall.)

On a more positive note – I do seem to have slightly better performance in Windows after the update, especially in Orr where I used to see a noticeable drop in performance.

Try the auto-detect settings and then remove anti-aliasing.

Improvements

  1. No More skill queue and stuck
  2. No more DC during the event
  3. Overall movement/skill trigger is pretty fluid.
  • I did get DC twice in a row once the event was over after the cut scene. and receiving reward*.

The second Dc was during porting back to Hoelbrak.

To follow up, the client optimizations that I mentioned before went out with the build today. Let me know if you saw improvements. Feel free to list your specs too!

No improvements what so ever for me and 3 friends of mine.
We all have decent (even high-end) specs, yet the game still runs with unacceptable frames! Both CPU and GPU usage are terrible!
My specs are FX-8350 CPU, with 8GB of ram and a GTX 760. Battlefield 4 runs perfectly smooth with constant 75fps (vsync on, esle it will go even higher, resulting in annoying for me tearing) at 1440×900 and ultra settings. Of course cpu and gpu usages are at 90% and more.

In GW2’s case, we are talking about ~30% CPU*(only one core going above 70%)* usage and GPU usage of no more then 50%, resulting in choppy, unconsistant and overall crap framerate, dropping from 60-70fps to 20-30fps just because of rotating the camera around…

There is something terribly wrong with your game’s “optimization”. I’m dying to know what are the average PC’s specs in Anet’s offices and with what frames are you guys playing the game there…

BillFreist, if you are interested, I can provide you with tons of screens with my specs, graphs of usages, frames and temperatures. Both from GW2 and other games as well. Just tell me what you would like to see.

P.S. And in before the “techsupport crap” – Yes, I have updated every driver. Yes, the temperatures are more then fine. Yes, everything with my system is top-notch.

As for my friends, they have PC’s from 2nd gen I5 to last gen i7 and from 560gtx to R9 290X.
Or is it considered normal for the game to run with 20-30fps on a latest of CPUs and GPUs?

30 FPS is fine. Don’t get sucked into the FPS tests used by benchmarking tools and used by marketing of a certain product. There are other user experience variables to factor in for a complete end-user experience.

FPS is good when we are stress-testing a GPU on a raw app. But does not represent 100% on a game. Which may include Gw2.

It’s the fluidity of the movement and skill trigger, that you have to feel with when you play to experience.

That’s for the updates. I just tried gathering on my Norn (smallest size) female Mesmer.

Seems ok and noticeable smoother movement (even with a norn, don’t like it because of its animation slow-mo), Cursed Shore (Blackgate). It’s like a fish tank just cleaned after a month on a broken filter and pump.

Haven’t tried the Marionette event on the extreme skill queue and skill stuck bug. Will try it out after I get back from work.

I was in Lonar’s Pass Overflow as of this message, got crazy skill lag/queue then DC at the portal to arena.

Log-back in and on to another overflow. It says now, I can’t get into that overflow as its full.

3.5 million copies sold, USD69 per copy x 3.5m = 241 million USD. (GROSS)

Less 5% logistics/distribution (exclude digital copy).

Excludes the in-game real-money players paid during early 2012.

And you can’t even get this right ? That money is enough to run a country and feed millions of starving children.

I got dc’ed from Lonar’s Pass Overflow in the middle of Marionette event. Log back on immediately and I got put into another overflow with another event. Then i got dc again in 10-20 seconds.

This time when I reconnect, into the 3 rd oveflow. I missed the event and reward, which I have done half way and got me dc’ed from the first overflow

WTF Arena. if i can sue Arena or NCSoft, I would gladly do so.

This bug is still happening to me on my mesmer on a CoE Beserker Armor with the Runes changed to Centaur Rune as an alternate armor for speed running.

I still get a Golem spawned when got hit.

Improving the value of Commander Tags

Remove tags to be visible by default. Unless accepted or click join squad from map shout, then only that tag alone will be visible.

Reduce the unnecessary clutter on screen and the redundant ones. It only brings in more skill bug and to a point of denial of service attack (DDoS) on clients.

I started at Melandru meta at second beacon. Went all the way top to the temple priest. Here’s what I got.

  1. Got damage on Legendary Risen Melandru Priest (finish it with reward)
  2. Got damage on Champion Spider
  3. Skill start to get stuck at Champ spider half way. Rubber banded my way up to all the npc.
  4. Then 2nd phase started. My skill queue got worse. FPS was good. I can’t even move 2-3 steps forward without appearing back to my original spot. Tried blink on my Ele, does not fix problem. Guess this is a fix exclusively for Warrior only.
  5. Melandru Ended, didn’t get any DC. But problem is, I didn’t get the daily chest or the dragonite ore !!!

WTF ARENA.

I just did the NEW ZERG Event at Lonar’s Pass as of this message 2-3 minutes ago, at overflow.

My FPS is over 33 consistent and on the high side is over 79 FPS.

But my skills cannot be triggered when the event starts, and it will be like queue for over 30 seconds, 1 min or longer. Then when event is over, all the skills will just all come to trigger at the same time.

I can move but sometimes I get rubber banded, and when I way-point during out of combat, its like over 1 minute before it triggers.

When I click on the portal to teleport, it will not trigger at all, until about 20-30 seconds. I have no debuffs on my character at the moment. Then when I finally get ported into the arena. 20-30 portal interact message just constantly pop up even when i click “leave”.

Server: Blackgate.

What is going on ? I had to stop playing, as I am just so sick of Arena. I hope a new mmo will be out soon and make Arena REGRET for ignoring bugs/performance.

ARENA if You people are pushing out buggy contents to a point you are losing customers, then obviously your Release Manager/Director or QA Director needs a new job.

Two of my Guildie also commented on our Facebook Website and apparently they are facing the same intermittent problem as well. Fixed either by dying or leap skill (warrior). Facebook screen capture attached

The Time Lost and burned. No matter what Arena says that It will not impact much on our investment. Time is time.

1. Time is wasted on obtaining Quartz Crystal Formation achievement to get the home node.

2. Time Wasted to Gather everyday

3. Time Wasted on charging 25 quartz everyday.

Just don’t destroy build for players like us who knows how to min/max gears of different stats to build a optimum build that allows our single favorite profession to be versatile and able to do all high-end contents.

Over the past several months we’ve had a small team working on ways to relieve some of the load from the game server while there are large concentrations of players. Most of the work thus far has gone pretty much unnoticed from the player’s perspective, but there have been pretty large steps made towards the issue. This continues to be a large and high priority issue for us so we can continue to make improvements to make this a thing of the past.

You need a “large” team. There needs to be noticeable improvements every patch.

This is not a troll post and I appreciate that it’s being looked into, but I’m going to tell you this one simple fact: Skill lag makes the game unplayable, players abandon unplayable games. It is a testament to how much player interest there is in WvW and the large scale PvP concept that players have stuck with Guild Wars 2 in spite of this skill lag for as long as they have. What I hear all the time in Teamspeak from the WvWers is that this game is “it” right now, there are no other serious choices for WvW. All anyone has to do really is introduce a game featuring the WvW concept without the skill lag and poof, there goes your entire WvW population which incidentally is the group who spends the most money on this game.

Again I’m not trolling, I’m just underlining the fact that first and foremost you need to fix the skill lag problem which has been around since launch a year ago or you will lose all of your WvW players to other games. It needs to be noticeable improvement every patch, it needs to be a “large” team working on this. You need this more than you need new PvE content.

I partially agree and also disagree with you. It’s about setting a clear objective and clear actionable priority deliverable with a date-line.

No matter how much Living Story content or HOW GRAND of a WvW map you build if you do put in flying mount in the future.

It’s a game breaker if play ability experience is sluggish down to the skill trigger or sometimes as bad as infinite looping of skills you triggered 60 seconds ago on another silly zerg based events.

Gw2 is all about Zerg and nothign but Zerg. Mind as well rename and call it ZW (Zerg Wars)

I kind of avoid or hate doing World Boss or Temple Events as the lag spikes are unpredictable and ruins the game entirely if you get boot out to overflow for spending 1 hour waiting and then 20 minutes of frustration in LAG.

Give us option to attain dragonite ore in another manner or from dungeon boss (last event). So we can avoid the Zergy event contents until it is fixed.

Yuck. I hate Zerg. Can we play the game without the a Zerg ?

Quick update:

Happy new year everyone! Now that we’re back from holiday vacations, we’ve got more improvements that’ll be rolling out soon. A handful of client improvements will also be making their way (soon hopefully), that should see a drastic memory usage drop and client frame-rate improvements, especially for lower-end hardware.

I’ll make sure to update once I have a better idea of what release you can start seeing these changes trickle in.

Generally its not an issue on RAM or Processor and on a 10mb Fibre broadband and NOT on Wifi.

from my observation over the pass few days (7-10 days), its more of a server – client issue. As this affects skill, and sometimes even in LA when we port to a very near waypoint when we don’t even see load screens. The characters will sometimes be like repeatedly falling 1-2 feet down to the ground.

FPS is not as annoying as Skill Lag. Skill Lag can be felt even by the blind.

FPS Drops is normal and acceptable even in lowest setting. Anything lower would be taking out the GPU entirely.

It’s the skill lag and infinite queue of skills that is annoying. Gw2 servers are clearly overloaded and facing DDoS experience to its clients.

very funny umbra… altrought that could be a motivation i think they just dont want 60% of their player base to quit the game out of sickening of the forced meta way wich kills their ‘’i play what i want to play’’ fun. In some way they are totaly justified.

We have to be careful how we write it here not to point out certain sensitive clans.

But I see it in terms of general human behavior. This tag line “I Play How I want” was a marketing tag line, as catchy as it is for mass communication its also boils down to our very human nature, everyone wants to be different.

In real-life – were are all the same. Just not existing in the same space, time, etc.

That tag line – backfired and abused.

This game is free anyway once you have it. It’s just your time. Probably its the signal for us to leave this game alone for a year or 6 months, ArcheAge is on Alpha testing now, let’s see in the future when we get back how this community and the game has become.

It could be Arena’s tactic to bring in new players to refresh the lot. Since new players will not be aware and not affected. They just cycle though these cycle of change. Just like what’s happening to Living Story of 2012. To flush out old players. Since there is huge opex/capex to maintain existing infrastructure for already paid accounts like ours.

Why not get new ones, and make the old ones (1 year long accounts) play less. Win-Win situation for them, as they get to retain the existing capex/opex.

Just realized, of course Anet realizes many people have done their farming etc for Zerk stuff and are all fitted out. That means the revenue bonanza has died down and they need to chase people into farming other armor types to get things going again.

Never before have they done an overall equipment nerf… until now that equipment is actually worth something in terms of actual money spent for mats and time to grind.

Wrong way to go about generating money imo. Better to supply content.

Why didn’t we thought of that as the root cause of nerf.

Yes, its hard to find players alike that shares his location all the time. with 20 other tags on at the same spot on populated servers.

need more players alike to help on vista or hard to find poi with commander tags so other players can go to.

This argument have no sense… Umbra why u are requesting a expensive tag? If you want see the tag, you see, if u don’t… JOIN to your favorite commander

Its simple

No one ever joins squad in pve, they don’t even know how to mostly. Commander is required to advertise the situation only when there is a need to.

For example, when group events have too few people in smaller servers. Some servers which have more mature and experienced players with over a year and have reached end game since 360 days ago and mastered at least 5 profession fully geared with ascended to T-4 or T-5 Fractals speed runs, and all aspects of WvW.

Take note, I mentioned guild tags, to be more affordable and also comes with easy upgrade or available only in guild missions.

Use it only with the need to basis, not clutter the screen. When we have too much of something in the market already, we have to increase the acquisition or change its mechanics. Allow easy access of instant Guild Tag of minimum costs less than 100g or with a little influence, but only usable for guild missions.

This allows the Guild Tag to be transferable within Guild (by officers) and allow newer players who are competent to experience and learn the ropes of using a tag and be environment/situation aware.

If you have a PVE tag attained personally for the fun, then players can advertise on map as map shouts and allow players to click on his name (while his tag is up and not visible until join commander/squad) to show only to that player that accepted. Similar to join squad, just with a feature that made it visible when join squad.

And gives more merit and recognition for your self.

Further more if a commander is bad and get frequent complains, players can always go to the guild leaders/council and have his/her privilege removed. Promoting responsibility for his/her actions.

Good example as in Tequal in BG. There are incidents where stray unorganized players with self purchased tags participate and tag-up standing next or so close to the real commander.

This can cause some to disorientation to the group. Yes, you can join squad. But at one time only one tag is required at a strategic point, and commanders at that point will only update the situation at their location.

Reduce the clutter of communication on map chat/say. YES you can join squad, but there are also new players and some just arrived on map to join in. With the lag, it will not easy for the player to join squad on the right commander that knows what needs to be done and give timely co-ordination.

Yes, It’s that simple.

I only see most ranting/crying about op builds in WvW. Hence we gave this last push for this nerf and balancing to take place.

Let everyone use back the same pve skins, their armor looks/legendaries. But retain the stats same as pvp. Problem FIXED.

Some are just sore losers.

I started playing active again, because of the Ascended where I have something to work for to improve my build and play style. Dungeon and Guild events with members is what I look for now. I have even played less dungeons and higher end contents. World Boss is a lag to dc at times. So a waste of time, not a fan of World Boss Event anymore, reminds me of frustrating skill queue and lag spikes in WvW.

Effective DPS is a form of support. Key to this game is to be efficient and fast, and cycle less on your cool-downs.

Is arena taking back your words on No Trinity builds ? I have helped alot of players since 2012 get thru hard dungeons, and i have also face many dishonest players who just rage quit and taking advantage of Magic Find in dungeons.

Honestly I have stopped and avoid using LFG and even from gw2LFG.com site over a year ago.

I plan to buy at least 100 USD every year, to support the game. But I changed my mind last year

What should be done

  1. Improve support builds without nerfing the critical hit damage. Make different tiers of combo easier to access for newbie players. As most new players are not familiar with the rotation and also will not be smooth on the controls.
  2. Change the champion/dungeon content mechanics not to have the one hit down mechanics.
  3. Allow us to re-use the same exotic, and upgrade it to Ascended.
  4. Keep PvE/Dungeon completely separate from WvW. Make WvW like pvp – no stats on armor, fix trinkets. only thing the get is the skins from PvE and usable for WvW.

Having us to SALVAGE materials to gain the secondary stats like Magic Find will outrageous if its applied to Ferocity to gain the secondary stats. Game is already grindy enough.

Take one out, and you lose a lot of players like myself immediately.

You are aware most of the players that understand your mechanics and know how to maximize the play style are the pillars that help your Gw2 community be competent to enjoy more challenging contents.

Arena did a great job 5 months ago to bring back interest to the old players, now you got me back to the state 6 months ago, where I would be eagerly waiting for ArcheAge, or any other mmo (except WildStar).

Overall from the Living Story of Scarlet and World-boss/Champion boxes was good, until it recently because a spam race like hungry piranha’s, just spamming auto attack to get some hits, creating mindless zergs to farm.

What we have so far now is:

  1. Zerk Wars
  2. Grind Wars
  3. Lag Wars
  4. Bored Wars
  5. AFK Wars
  6. Tag Wars

Coming up next – Support Wars, everyone on support roles. Let’s heal the champion to death with precision healing.

KEEP WvW and PvE changes separate Understand people are complain about skill balance because they get easily downed with a op build in WvW. Yes Arena needs to fix PvE bugs as well and some of the weird silly mechanics or really really annoying contents.

Instant fix to balancing problem in WvW, *REUSE BACK PVP mechanics in WvW. LEAVE PVE out of this.* Since there is no problem now with PvP setups.

Here in are the compiled suggestion on improving the Commander Tags and without over clutter the screen with Tags.

Guild Commanders

  1. Attainable from Guild Upgrades such includes combination options to acquire like Influence, Gold and Merits.
  2. Guild Mission Commander Tags. Very easy to acquire. Only be visible to guild members and usable only during guild missions/events. Helps smaller guilds to enjoy Guild Mission without having a personal commander tags and commander tag account leaving the guild. Small guild may even participate in WvW where their tags are only visible to Guild Members and enjoy smaller scale tactical skirmishes.
  3. Customization Color scheme for easy recognition of teams with their roles.
  4. These Guild Commanders will be Guild bound.

WvW Commander Tags:

  1. Guild can achieve WvW influence based on leadership and slowly upgrade his/her tag to be a WvW Commander Tag. As in his squad needs to gain points/capture/kills to increase points and complete the upgrade with Guild Upgrades or spending some influence points (or combination of both together)
  2. These ranking will drop and degrade the existing tag if he’s less involved over time with leading a WvW squad or based the event completed within the Commander’s radius or his/her personal engagement in capture/kills.
  3. Different Commanders can option to tag-team with each other to co-ordinate tactical maneuvers on a more specific location.

Leader boards might be a bad idea. As it opens up a lot of problems when you can buy out good commanders with gold to transfer and potentially his core WvW peers.

Existing Commander Tags

  1. Full refund to account
  2. Option to transfer to Guild
  3. Different color scheme from WvW or Guild and not visible to any players on the map. The Existing commander tag owner will have to map shout, where other players can choose to click to view his/her tag on map or just ignore.
  4. Give a chance for this existing tag owners or the basic 100g Commander tags to be slowly upgraded with a combination of Achievement Points, More gold, Successfully starting / completing the event give like Commander Merits to allow the upgrade. If 20 PvE commander tags are up at that time, the event points will be shared by all. So they get less points. This reduces the clutter and also a progressive ladder before he/she can prove her tag to be viable and not just a pin-up stick it note.

Dear Arena,

As of last week, just after 2014 new year. I noticed the skill lag seems to be worse, in terms of play experience. I play an Ele Sceptor/Dagger. This has not really happened in PvE to me before, nothing has been changed on my network or system just updated driver patches with 10mb Fibre with QoS activated for best priority to GW2 ports and ip on Asus RT-N66U B1.

The Problems so far, I do participate or start World Boss/Temple Event (Blackgate), 1-2 hours after server reset:

World Boss/Temple, problem persistent even with everything turned to best performance.

  1. My skill can be queued to over 20 seconds or more.
  2. Every time lately when the zergs arrive, they might even lag me out till I disconnect and end up in Overflow, even I started the temple event on a very small group of 5-10 people. This has never happened before. Don’t you impose a first come first serve priority on your server/client connectivity ?

Dungeons

  1. I see more rubber-banding of my party members
  2. More noticeable skill lags and sometimes will not trigger. (not as bad as World Boss / Temple Events)

i would like to suggest to allow Dragonite Ore to be attainable in a different manner of the same quantity (30 for temples) other than LARGE group events. This is one of the main reason why I do not enjoy WvW anymore since more players load the servers causing lag spikes/inconsistency.

Most often in the past, 10-20 FPS on large events is acceptable, I don’t encounter any frustrating skill lags/queue.

Enclosed here in is the Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit resmon screen capture. Would it be normal for the bottom ip not to show any latency ms ?

Make us grind 100,000 more mats, salvage all of them, to get back the 10% loss.

Arena, you guys can be smarter than that. Easy solution is just play the game like we do, and important is to take off your arena hat, and see if you enjoy it as a gamer or frustrated over it.

If ArcheAge is out, I will definately check it out. You just lost a fan. Gw2 is my first Arena mmo. You manage to get me on board and like it at first.

Now Good bye, if you keep this up. I’m not buying Wildstar no matter how good it is after hearing the horror what Ncsoft is doing to your revenue.

With this i think I can understand why Gw2 is in this state of budget as all profits goes to Wildstar.

State of Game Performance/Dc-éd issue.

Hi Arena,

i know you guys are working your best to solve this lag and people getting Dcéd.

I started the Grenth event finish it with a small group all the way to the last part cleansing phase, when the zergs just rush in and it lagged me out to a disconnect state from server. This is like a denial of services attack that you guys are self inflicting.

And when I log-back in I got throw out to overflow.

This is not right, when new arrivals to the map will kick out those that are existing there that started and finished the hard part of the event.

And I lose my chest.

This is an Arena problem that needs to be addressed. I only face this problem since last week. Not a hardware or software problem. I am on Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.

GIVE PRIORITY TO THOSE existing on map on that event and push the late comer zergs out to overflow. First come first server basis. Or make sure I get the dragonite ore else where for example in the dungeon as well. Which can remove a huge zerg away from silly and messy group events with a huge concentration of morons.
