Not So Secret Chest Daily Bug?

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Vancien.1980

Vancien.1980

So tonight I logged in to do my daily routine of opening the not so secret chest. Yes, I have parked several characters there to get the shards because, a more lucrative way was not implemented by the developers since relevant content was live.

Anyway, I log on my Mesmer who is parked there for a good reason of helping others with the puzzle, because it’s quite possibly one of the most difficult and time consuming in the game. And decided, well let me first do my other characters there as well. So I log out and see the chest un-opened. I log in on the first character and the chest is now opened as if I had already acquired it.

In my bags sits the 28 blade shards that were there from earlier yesterday prior to reset and I did not open the chest. All of the others have the exact amounts they had as well yet the chest shows as opened already for this daily cycle.

You know, I’d much rather be able to receive more of these things from dungeons or fractals specifically without it being so limited. Or killing the stupid mobs there in this tiny area. I mean, how else do you expect me to acquire 1000 of these things in less than a year? It’s ridiculous. And now, I have discovered a bug that puts my collection in a day late, dollar short status, although I didn’t loot the chest.

So where is my reset and pre-cursors the chest was giving me?

Jk – Seriously this is quite a rainy day bug.

Fresh start of a new week! We’re still open recruiting for the coming expansion and could use some more great attitudes ready to raid in the coming months. We have plenty of knowledge to share in dungeons and fractals for those not so experienced.

Come feel the [Love] in a non-elitist “you gotta be meta” type environment. Gear is secondary, attitude is first!

Hey Everybuddy!

Legends Of Valor Eternal is looking for some more Love in the world of Tyria! Are you tired of being in a guild where you just don’t fit in or afraid to experience aspects of the game because you are new or just not confident that people won’t bash you for not being perfect? Well, we just might be exactly what you need.

The Guild:

Legends Of Valor Eternal [Love]

Game Play Styles:

We are a diverse PvX guild with the intent to be well rounded and offer members access to all aspects of the game. PvP, PvE, WvW, Raids, Dungeons & Fractals.

Home World:

Tarnished Coast, we accept all worlds. TC is generally full. Edge of the mists now allows same color matching servers to experience WvW together.

Primary Language:

English

Secondary Language(s):

Spanish, Slovak (We are open to others and accents are appreciated!)

Active Times:

All hours but peak hours are usually evenings. We have Australian and NA Players. East & West Coast and plan to keep a diversified group covering all hours.

Guild Website

lov.shivtr.com – We are still building this and would love some creative members to help out!

Guild leader:

Valynna Bear Heart

About the Guild:

We are a brand new guild and seek to become one of the absolute best guilds ever. We will provide a relaxed non elitist environment to players of all play styles and experience levels. We are not your “make this your full time job” type of guilds. We are extremely efficient players and very good at what we do, we just don’t carry the arrogant attitudes.

The rules are simple. Respect other players and our members, have fun and play the game. Nobody should feel that this is a job or an obligation. You play how you want, when you want and we’ll organize the rest. We hope to accommodate for everyone to participate in group guild activities and may have multiple weekly scheduled events.
We will be offering members guild wars celebration parties, guild scavenger hunts and unique giveaways for us to all come together and have some fun.

We do not have strict representation rules. We understand people like to diversify and have other guilds they rep with friends sometimes or designated groups for certain aspects of the game. However, our hope is that we can become the guild you choose to represent full time and your friends will become a part of this great guild too! Influence is there to help us grow and we want people who wish to really become a part of something unique and fabulous!

Even though we do have some hardcore members that may dedicate a great deal of their time to achieve goals in the game, we as a guild will not mandate anyone to do anything. That includes speaking on voice chat. If you aren’t comfortable doing something, you shouldn’t be asked to do it. But keep in mind, we are a social group so being social is certainly to your benefit.

Any further questions you may have or invitations may be privately messaged to:

Valynna Bear Heart

For questions in game please contact:

Lady Mamirage
Jara Venali

We greatly appreciate your time and we hope that you will consider the opportunity to grow into your own Legend with us. Until then, may your adventures be grandiose and treasures be bountiful!

Mordrem Invasion Broken [merged]

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Well, since the first day of launch with this event I have come to the conclusion that this event simply isn’t worth the effort anymore. I had hoped that things would be worked out and a better experience would be provided.

The rewards seem to be functioning as intended which is, not very good. There is a daily bonus on each map of 20 blooms. In order to get more than 5 stacks one must essentially abandon events to move on and tag other events to hopefully accumulate more than 20 stacks. Gods forbid you disconnect as you will certainly loose all of your accumulate stacks.

I think now that a much more lucrative design would have been to promote the event and offer players the ability to once a day receive a set a mount of 50 blooms per zone. The accumulated stack buff should have nothing to do with rewards. It should be a boost to damage to the Mordremoth if anything allowing players to more effectively overcome the encounters.

This would merit players 150 total blooms for three hours play time invested and in three days of the event have the ability to make the most sought after purchases. I have put forth enough effort to have accumulated 150 blooms in it’s current state and I now draw the opinion that the event chains become extremely boring, frustrating and not worth the time investment.

Sorry Arena Net. I appreciate you implementing something random and new but I don’t think it was a very well thought out design. You have forced players to act more selfishly rather than work as an effective team and promote an obsessive approach to accumulating a new game currency.

Living World Season 2 - Removal?

Hey everybuddy!

So my guild has recently had a lot of discussion around the living story season 2 and whether or not it will be left available or be removed from the game just as season 1 was before. Some people believe it will be removed since HoT will be season 3 and others think it will stay as it’s still directly related to the story of the expansion.

I am looking for an official response on this or at least be pointed in the direction of directly related responses from Arena Net.

Thanks!

Look folks. Many of you apparently have not ever participated in a random even in Guildwars. Let me welcome you to the experience! First of all, things aren’t always perfect. Sort of like how life usually has curve balls. You have to just overcome them.

There are other things I am sure you could be doing. Like the regular ritual of dailies, perhaps your dungeon runs you have done a million times and a half or fractals on farm. But this is a NEW EXPERIENCE.

Broken or not, it’s not what you would be normally doing and I can assure you from experience that they will figure out the kinks and fix it so that your time is not for nothing. There is no need to make a huge stink about getting nothing while you spent time with your wifey, girlfriend or boyfriend doing these unique events because it’s certainly not the same thing you did last night.

So be a bit more thankful and look at the positive side of things.

To the developers. Thank you for adding another random event we can enjoy and I hope you will get the buggers worked out as always in an expeditious manor.

Will the next Xpack go beyond DX9?

It would make more sense if they bottle necked DX12 to only being a Windows 10 so they could bolster upgrades. But then again, they are offering Windows 10 upgrades for free and I have not quite figured out the catch to that either. Are updates going to be locked behind paywalls?

Oh That’s not a pleasant thought.

Still, it isn’t like DX12 will be a necessity for most of what is on the gaming market right now so it’s really not something I am at all worried about.

Vancien.1980

Hey guys!

Thanks for the responses but that does not really answer my question. Yes, there was a free trial back last September and irregardless of Twitch or Twitter that is a ridiculous method of trying a game. Because it isn’t trying a game. It’s watching video of someone playing a game you think you may like. They have seen plenty of footage.

I am just hoping they would do something similar to last year here with the expansion as I really do think a trial would help reel people into buying the expansion. Saying free trials don’t work is like saying a free chicken biscuit doesn’t make you late for work.

That’s just crazy talk.

Trials are a way for players to experience the game themselves. And saying there isn’t any difference in Guild Wars as opposed to any other Korean MMO out? Are you out of your mind? There is no comparison. Guild Wars is not a complete grind fest with sub par combat and you don’t need complex traits at level 10. Why are you playing this game again? Seriously…

Hey all,

I am not sure if this is in the right forum but I know there has been some free trial weeks in the past. I did have some free keys to give friends during the beta as well I believe. I am just curious if there are any plans to offer free trials and potentially allow us veterans to give out some trial keys?

I think this would be a great way to lure in new blood. I have some friends that really want to try out the current game before purchasing the expansion set.

Welcome back!

Here are my recommendations about your guild:
Don’t scrap your existing guild, regardless. At worst, it can be your personal bank or a gift to a friend who needs one.

Take the time to try out other guilds. You can maintain your guild and rep something else (or even up to 4 other guilds). Take a month or three to experience the game differently.

After doing that, you’ll have a better idea of what you want from a guild, from the game, and how much you want to contribute to each. You might decide that you found a home in one of your try-it-out guilds. You might find you aren’t satisfied and you want to start over again. Or you might realize you know exactly how to rebuild your original guild.

tl;dr now is a perfect opportunity to see how the rest of the world lives. Your original guild structure is there if/when you need it.

Thanks for all the responses to everyone. I have a pretty good idea of the type of guild I want to be a part of, I just don’t know if that really exists. I have been prospecting other guilds. The problem is, I just get annoyed unless I am running it myself because while many guilds seem to fit the mold they don’t really quite stand up in the end.

It’s just hard finding a guild that I like… >.<

You do know that you have up to a year if not longer to accept the upgrade? I would highly recommend you ensure you will like the Windows 10 environment before you make the switch. Everything I have seen thus far looks like a trimmed down Windows 8 and outside of a Tablet, that op sys is trash.

Don’t just hop on the upgrade wagon because it comes with a higher DX version. It won’t matter with any current games that are out now anyway.

There are more people currently with compatible DirectX 9 graphics cards than there are with DirectX 10, 11 and very few with 12 compatible graphics cards. So yes, it isn’t going anywhere.

Asking if it would survive is like asking if people still play World of Warcraft.

The amount of programming behind changing or implementing this change to the engine would be as big if not even bigger than the expansion or the game itself. I don’t foresee this happening.

And I am not sure I understand your last question. Do you even understand how DirectX works? It doesn’t directly effect graphics. It changes API performance and how smoothly the graphics are produced. Which in turn will make things look better and have more 3rd Dimension. It also effects the 2 dimensional draw on your screen and the audio a game produces to your speaker. Essentially it makes things happen a lot faster and perform smoother. So in turn, potentially things like invisible enemies in WvW don’t happen.

New GW2 Player Some Questions.

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Vancien.1980

Vancien.1980

Hello Everyone
I just got this game and i have been told to seriously come into this game without any other mmo in mind because it is very different. So that being said i have a few questions i probably wouldn’t ask or even care about in another mmo that might be important to know as i am going into the game.

First of all, Welcome to Guild Wars 2 and your friend gave you excellent advice. The biggest mistake people make is maintaining their comfortable mentality of familiarity with WoW or other alike games and force it into the octagon key hole Guild Wars 2 is. This game is unlike the others on so many levels but also very much like them too.

1. out of the 3 classes i have picked that i would want to play what one would be more " new player friendly" to go thought the game with for the first time Warrior | Necro | Ranger PvE/PvP Feedback is a bonus

-There is no one single easiest class to level in my personal opinion. Any class you are comfortable with and enjoy playing will be the easiest for you to level. Study up on the classes, skill sets and try them according to educated judgement on what you think you would like.

2. Things i should do or prepare for when the new expansion comes out?.

I would not even suggest you worry about the expansion. Just focus on the current content you have available and enjoy yourself. You don’t need to rush. Revenant isn’t even refined yet with underwater combat and we don’t have a set date of release. Don’t rush your game play. Take your time and enjoy yourself. Rushing will only burn you out fast.

However, I am going to plug INKS here as he made a good video just suggesting things to do pre-expansion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrMNA2X3brI

3. Is there any Bonus in being in more then 1 guild or only 1 guild only?

-That is completely up to you. In my personal experience most guilds are either heavy PvP, WvW or PvE. Even though they claim to be all, they aren’t. If you want specific groups for each, you may want separate guilds. The important thing would be to find and represent the guild you like the most.

4. Doing a level “5” event when i am level 10 and down scaled. is it worth the time to go do the event even if i am originally 5 levels above, will the "award be my level or a level 5 level?

-One of the best features in Guild Wars 2 is the level scaling. Which means, I can be level 80 but meet a friend on a brand new character and run around in the start zone helping them without being ridiculously over powered. Granted, I will be stronger but those events, especially involving Champions will still be challenging and you can’t just go one shot them. Events are always worth doing for bonus money, karma and experience.

Tips. Please feel free to throw down any other helpful tips or ideas you have as well

Thank you all for the help

The best advice I can give you is to just get into having fun and the rest will fall into place. Don’t rush into trying to slave yourself into leveling to 80. Enjoy your time in each zone, explore and make friends.

Feel free to reach out to me for any help you might need. If I am online, I am always happy to help.

Hey! Good tips. Yeah, it’s not about the Guild name being the issue other than it just feels kind of the past? Like it was an original idea of friends who are no longer playing? I am not recruiting so I can’t say that’s why nobody is joining, lol.

Yeah, the mail thing is a good idea and the only reason I am on the fence about scrapping and starting a new guild is the fact that this guild has had research progression to about rank 5 or 6 across the board.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a nice day today. So, I recently returned to Guild Wars 2. It’s been about a month now. I won’t go into details as to why I went on hiatus but I will just say it was personal. Which, doesn’t really matter now because I am back.

Well, previous to my hiatus my Guild that was created with friends had grown rather stagnant unfortunately. Several members at the release of fractals were so upset with the linear progression they quit playing altogether. Others had real life events happen and had to move. The point is, the guild had gotten pretty inactive.

However, when it was active we were contributing to its growth and progression. But since my return I have been faced with a dilemma. I am the only person currently playing and active in the guild at this point. I have made new friends since I returned which is why I love this game. It’s so easy to make friends! But, I do want an active Guild.

Now here are the options I have considered and would like your opinions on.

First, I have looked into other established and active guilds. However, I am not into the overly huge guilds where you have different sub groups that are tight friends within an enormous guild. Also, usually I am never happy with a structure of another guild and I prefer to run things differently. It’s hard finding the right fit.

Second, this guild is already created and has progress. I can’t decide if I should start clearing out the guild of inactive people and start recruiting. However, as much as I like the guild name, theme and tag, I just don’t know. It feels sort of the past to me and with the expansion, what if those inactive do return? If I kick them, they’ll be harder to track down, should they return. I’d feel better leaving them but people coming in would probably go “why so many inactive?”

Third, this is the final option I am considering which is the most work. Create a brand new guild with a brand new theme and get behind that. Now, I know what it takes to build and run a guild and I do have potential people that would help but I just don’t know if I should bother. I big part of me wants to do something different and fun. I know all guilds say they are first ruled around fun but few really embrace that. I want a guild that stands for equality and does have fun but most importantly something that will last. I don’t want a guild without any rules at all but I shouldn’t have to tell people how to act. I can’t stand immature children or adults that are worse than those children.

I’m having a hard time deciding what to do….

Hey there. I made a video recently showcasing for friends a little overview of crafting in Guild Wars 2. Many of my friends that like crafting have asked about what is better in crafting in Guild Wars 2 as they are considering coming over.

I will probably do another video as I see I could be a lot more concise, I did kind of talk A LOT. Sorry, I was about 4 cups of coffee live when I made the video. Please be kind on the comments and I hope the video may help you understand a little bit more about crafting. Also, this was directed mostly for my friends that are still playing WoW, hence the commentary. Anyway, hope it may help give you some examples.

Listing Fee & Exch Fee Completely Ridiculous!

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Vancien.1980

Vancien.1980

You can also view the 15% as a convienence fee. You don’t have to spend any time looking for a buyer. Not many people are in the market to buy a 5000g item, and they might be in a different timezone. There’s no need to find that person, coordinate with them, then arrange for a trade time.

750g is a lot to see taken away, but I suggest you focus on the 4250g you get to keep, and go buy stuff that others will get 3612g for.

You are right. It is always better to see the positive side!

First it’s a gold sink to maintain some control over the growth of they money supply which helps slow inflation due to players having more and more money. It only costs you 250 g to post a 5K g item for sale but I can understand being annoyed if you get a fortuitous drop and not having the coin to sell it for it’s going rate. There is only one item on the TP that goes for 5K so I think you are overpricing whatever you are trying to sell.

You assume as you have before and you are again wrong. I actually do have the most valued item, according to the trade post in the game. And that is how I came across seeing the exchange and fee on the 5k price. Or close to it. I’m sure it would sit there for a while before actually selling so who knows when I’d actually see the gold.

That explanation makes absolutely 0 valid points.

Next.

Think about what would happen in a game world where the supply of gold rises continuously. Prices would rise continuously to match and you would first need hundreds, then thousands then tens of thousands of gold then millions of gold to buy items. New players would be left behind. They would be unable to gear up unless they can get dropped gear, and that’s usually only basic gear.

Here is an article you can read, if you are actually serious and not just posting to rant.
http://voyagergames.com/currency-inflation-in-mmorpgs-and-tfrs-approach/

And a redditt post about hyperinflation in an mmorpg
https://www.reddit.com/r/truegaming/comments/2f5vn9/a_case_of_hyperinflation_in_a_virtual_economy/

Yeah, I was serious and also ranting a bit. And I have read several articles on it and videos. Just most MMO’s balance it with far less of a percentage than 15%. It still seems largely steep but the best reason for acceptance thus far has been; saving you from scammers by a safe trade method always.

That explanation makes absolutely 0 valid points.

Next.

Van,

Why do we need to convice you becasuse you are not able to understand or do not accept the truth?

He was giving me examples about real world money that deteriorates over time or gets tarnished. That was not a good explanation to why the fee was so high nor did it explain anything but say it’s there because in the real world money disintegrates.

No, Trolls shouldn’t try convincing people of anything. They should stay in their caves.

best thing i’ve seen on mmo economies

Watched, thanks!

It’s a 5% listing fee and a 10% tax.

As for real life the sales tax around here is near 8.5% but random mugging are not acceptable ways of acquiring money in real life.

Haha! What a shame! :P

It “makes no sense” BECAUSE the SELLING price of an item is ALREADY in excess of the PURCHASE price (from the standpoint of the TP)—- they’ve ALREADY made theirs when the item sells!! It DOESN’T make sense to charge an EXTRA 15% just to BUY an item to sell at the TP ( unless, of course, you’re a HATED monopoly out to gouge both your buyers AND your sellers)!!!

Think it through, ANET. I have a product you, the TP, wants. I know what my cost was, and I know my expected “profit” from my efforts. What are YOUR efforts that require you to charge ME for mine??
Maybe we should create a “posse commitas” and charge Evan Gnashblade with fraud, operating a criminal enterprise, and grand theft—————and let another idiot try this operation!!

Omg! Hahahahahaa! SO FUNNY.

Those are some good points and thoughts. I hadn’t considered the security aspect and scams virtually being eliminated. I am not against the tax, just that it seems outrageously high value. I mean, 750 gold is a lot of coin.

But relating to Jorn’s point on just adjusting the sell price does not work. You can’t just decide to sell an item for whatever price, it will never sell. Then you’ve paid a non-returnable fee for an item you will never see sold. So, you could try but the odds aren’t in your favor. And even the most valued items get under cut all of the time, yet they sit there for weeks or more.

I appreciate the good points made.

Listing Fee & Exch Fee Completely Ridiculous!

Please help me understand why these two factors when selling items on the Trade Post have not been changed. If I want to sell an item on the Trade Post for 5,000 gold, it will cost me 750 gold to do so.

That is absolutely ridiculous and outrageously over priced.

I am not going to go off making comparisons of the real world and taxes but a 15% total loss is ludicrous. I can’t believe this has not been adjusted yet. I can understand a 2% non refundable listing fee and maybe a 3% exchange fee but a 15% total fee? It just seems to me that this is a failure to think rationally from the developers.

Start throwing me 100 gold a day for logging in and I won’t give hoot anymore but honestly, why remove 15% of a sale from the game? And we are forced to trade that way unless we are sleeping in the same bed at night with the person we are mailing items to.

I’ll pocket 4,250 for my item. No wonder everything costs so much.

GW 2 - Internet Package loss

The proper term is Packet Loss not Package Loss.

Also, 150mbs down and 30mbs could be what the ISP says they are providing you but that does not mean that is what you will get. Run a speed test using your isp’s website or just google “Speed Test”. I’d be willing to bet money you aren’t getting higher than 5mbs.

Also, packet loss can be caused by a number of reasons but most commonly it would be network congestion. It can also be brought on by faulty hardware, (IE) your router/modem.

I'm getting suspended while being inactive.

You have not been playing in the past two years and only log onto the game to get the daily reward yet you have 712 gold in your inventory? That seems extremely suspect to me. And what are the numerous other emails you have from other players?

Also, I don’t believe A-Net would email you this type of thing period. They would just ban your account and let you make a support ticket to try and dispute it.

Obviously, if you are truthful and aren’t buying gold from outside sources then your account is being used for transactions. Change your password and do not respond to any of the emails they are sending you. Make a support ticket about the issue so you have a concrete method of communication with the support team.

I think you pretty much answered your own question. If you were having issues with the game launching but never determined why, you probably should have nipped that in the bud and done a fresh re-installation of the game.

CCLeaner does not delete game folders unless you tell it to by selecting folders. You need to check what you have it selected to delete and where your game files are also installed. If you installed them to Temp Folders, that is on you.

As far as administrative rights go, it gives you issues because it still verifies permissions as an extra safety measure. You can assign executable files (Shortcuts) to always open as an administrator by going into properties, shortcut tab, advanced and selecting the box to always open as an administrator.

First of all, this is a lot of drama and although it sucks, I honestly think holding onto a previous guild name is rather trivial. I mean, by an example, I couldn’t transfer my Guild Wars guild to Guild Wars 2 because it was a Japanese tag in Japanese. Sure we could have gone with something similar but really, what’s the point? Guild Wars 2 isn’t Guild Wars and those related achievements or honors do not carry over for guilds.

I think you are by making a big deal about this by forcing yourself into making an almost identical guild, in turn letting this person win. They are having the last laugh.

I suggest you let this whole thing go and take stock in what you do have. You have loyal members that have stuck with you due to knowing the truth. Why not pull those resources together to make something truly awesome together? Totally new? Even better than before, forever winning over this childish persons sad attempt to cause you grief?

I understand your attachment to the memory but I don’t think you or any of the guild will truly move forward so long as you keep trying to hang onto it. What they did was wrong but it is some kind of childish drama that Arena Net, rightfully will not involve themselves in. I don’t blame them honestly. When the wise thing to do would be to just move on.

Sorry if the truth is painful but that’s really the dose worth swallowing.

Weird slow motion then crashes? nvidia card

Vancien.1980

Heya,

So I noticed you are running all settings through the NVIDIA software control suite or panel, whatever. Just for the sake of testing. Don’t do that. Change whatever setting to allow the game to determine your graphics card settings.

Then run benchmark testing within Guild Wars 2 with everything in the game turned all the way down through options and see what happens.

Just curious, what SSD are you running? Did it come with any software? My rigg runs Samsung Magician software which monitors the state of the drive in real time.

Also one other thing I recommend you check is your Ramm in through bios. See if anything is showing as partial or malfunctioning. You can also run memtest just to be safe.

http://www.memtest86.com/

Other than that, again check driver dates. Since the update last week people have been posting about extreme lag but your case seems a lot different. Your entire game slows to a crawl but your frame rates display through the roof.

And to answer your question, when you go into device manager in windows and view the hardware (IE) your graphics card and the installed river there is a rollback option. This simplifies the process of uninstall and reinstall by rolling the driver back to the previously installed driver. It’s also kind of fool proof since you aren’t manually going and downloading/installing the wrong previous driver.

Kicked at Server Reset

Vancien.1980

Hello Emergencee,

My question to you would be, why would you start a world boss fight when you know the server is going to reset? That seems highly counter productive and will overthrow a win for that encounter probably as a guarantee. I would suggest picking a time relevant to the event after the server reset has occurred so you won’t be forced into this situation.

Hi Shift,

On the video you posted at the end you opened options, did the frame rate actually say 1,897? Because that doesn’t even seem possible. I mean 4k video is rarely that high.

I would recommend you do the following.

First, run a virus scan thoroughly if you have not already.
Check driver updates, did you recently update two weeks ago graphics drivers? Chipset? (You may want to do a roll back) Or the opposite which is, update drivers if they aren’t up to date.
Previous to two weeks ago did you work with some bug fix for another issue? Something game related?

That frame rate just seems way off to me. No game at that frame rate should be running in super slow motion. That spells out the hardware is doing something it shouldn’t.

“Thanks Captain Obvious!”

You may also want to try capping your frame rate as a test to see if that has any effectiveness.

Can't create a support ticket for Guild Wars

Okay,

So I was able to use Internet Explorer and get a ticket submitted. I then subsequently tried through Chrome and it worked. I don’t know if the page was just having issues or what was causing the error.

And I was not attacking him. Give me a break. I came here to get support from Actual Representatives, not players. I was extremely frustrated and had exhausted trying to submit a ticket. I realize that he was trying to be helpful but he really just caused more frustration.

In all honestly, having to submit a ticket to reset a password is absolutely ridiculous. There should be a simple email method or a series of security questions to answer in order to do a reset.

And people offering support should consider that most people are pretty sensible when it comes to technology and would have only used this kind of contact as a last resort. I would call an 800 support number if that was possible. I mean, I think in the end it would save everyone a lot of time and effort if things were made a bit easier. There aren’t any other options to reaching support and that is sadly, one of the serious negatives to this developer.

Hopefully that gets better in the future so a person in my situation doesn’t have to utilize a public community forum to try and reach support directly.

Dude… Do you think I wouldn’t have checked all of that?

And your point is completely null because if any of the fields are left blank or the choice options not selected, it will not submit the ticket and kicks a corresponding error. It is not an issue with leaving something “un-checked”. There is an issue with the page formatting and it is requiring a Serial Code because that is the only error it displays.

Yes, apply for a job with Arena Net tech support and Good Luck to you too.

I have checked and double checked about 15 times over and each submission removes all selected choices for the issue I am reporting as well as removing my name, address and date of birth. Therefore I have to again continue filling out all of those fields.

I appreciate you attempting to help but I would really like a response from an official person on the Arena Net payroll to give me some direction. It isn’t one of the empty spaces being left blank, it literally only says the Serial Code is not valid and I have not put anything in that field.

Can't create a support ticket for Guild Wars

Vancien.1980

Hello,

I have been trying to create a support ticket for original Guild Wars for an hour. I need to reset my password on a secondary account. This account is not linked to my Guild Wars 2 account.

However, when I try and submit the ticket the top reads an error:

“Request could not be created as: Guild Wars 2 Serial Code: is invalid”

Even though the kitten page reads:

“Please enter your alphanumeric serial code (if available) in the form ABCDE6-FGHI5-JKL4-MN3-OPQRST7. This code can be found in the email you received upon purchasing the game (if you bought online directly from us) or with the packaging of game (if you bought a physical copy). If you don’t know this information, just leave this field blank.

Now, I have not put ANYTHING at all in the field for the serial code and left it blank, yet this stupid error kicks back every time. I need a way of getting around this and getting my password reset.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as there is absolutely no way of creating a support ticket without a serial code apparently. This is an obvious issue with the website and needs to be fixed.

Why hasn’t this post been made sticky yet? I don’t understand why this would not reproduce within any development environment but with all due respect Lauren Kamieniecki, that does not change the fact or really have any relevance to it being a problem in the live game.

Here is another screen shot and some links on another post I made related to the exact same issue.

This needs to get some attention and be fixed. It’s quite annoying to get new armor and still have a solid color of your last chosen dye color covering your armor.
