Guild: Rebellious New Generation [RNG] / Server: Aurora Glade – EN

This could be due to a hub that is being used to connect to the GW2 servers. Normally doing a traceroute, you can find the jump where the spikes are coming from.
Normally providing that data to your ISP or Arena.net can help, but most of those hubs are owned by other providers/services for example, so they can’t promise it will be resolved.
As Feirlista Xv mentioned, you will need to have the power cord plugged into the laptop for the main graphics card to be used. This is unfortunately something that is preset within the bios of most laptops as using the main graphics card when the cable is not connected, will drain the laptop of power very quickly.
You can change this option within the bios, to force the Radeon card to be used, even when the cable is not connected. I personally will not guide you through that as I don’t want you to screw up your laptop, but if you review the AMD websites or even the website for the laptop, you may be able to gain more information there.
But just plug in the power cable when playing GW2 and you will see things will be fine.
Argon,
Can you try this and see if it will work:
Press Windows Key + R.
Type services.msc into the Run window.
Click OK.
In the Name column, locate and right-click Secondary Logon.
Select Properties.
Under the Startup Type dropdown menu, select Automatic.
Click OK.
Let me know if that fixes the problem.
TheLastNobody, can you try creating a new character (if you have the free slot) and see if the same thing happens, when you zone into another areas.
If it works, then try and log out to the character selection screen and see if that may work. However; if the problem continues, you will need to personally get in touch with the A.net support, so they can refresh your account information and may be moving the affected characters.
Hey there Mayko,
When it comes to the freezing up of the system, can you confirm if this is just with the MAC client or have you tried running bootcamp and seeing if the same thing happens with using the Windows version of the Guild Wars 2 client?
Also can you confirm what OS you are using on your MAC, so I can try and point you in the right direction, just in case if this isn’t a MAC client issue.
What Ashkew said.
I’ve always played Hunters/Archers in previous MMOs, so I continued the trend in GW2
The only real way to stop people from being hacked and the gold sellers from spamming their adverts, is to ban the accounts who also purchase the gold, which is very easy to track down. However; it can sometimes take small amount of time to review logs on the server, so response time to other customers may become longer.
And then somehow to and make it so the purchase of digital stolen goods becomes a crime and you can then legally take action against those involved and make it so they are fined.
This then results in a lot of children having their Internet access removed, once their parents are issues with a court hearing date in regards to their child’s activities on the Interwebs or you have a unemployed/employed/student person that has to sell their computer to pay for the court fees due to their lack of common sense.
1) +1 to all stats based on the number of Revenants active in the game
2) +1 to using guides to build your Revenant
3) Rune 2 is removed and you are given +100 to creativity for use your head for a change
4) -10,000 health for using tomes of knowledge to instant level to 80
5) Instantly get removed from groups when doing CoF runs.
6) The interwebs explodes and you win the game
omg, rangers are going to be able to become a druid …. GW2 is becoming WoW!!!
Seriously, I can understand that people want GW2 to be it’s own game, but just because a taunt is added or something else appears that shares a name with a skill/class from another game, they instantly think it’s turning into the game …. makes me want to flip a table!
Overall Triatt.9154, you will just get your account either:
Suspended/Banned/Hacked.
So personally I would really recommend you just tell your friend to buy the game. It has no monthly fee and it’s cheaper then most games out there, with a monthly sub or 5 hours worth of gameplay.
But putting your account at risk, just isn’t the smartest idea. People in this thread who said it’s fine or that we should get an official statement are probably people who are sharing or who have sold/bought the account they are currently playing on.
If your friend can’t afford the game and you really want him to play, then help him out with the cost.
Just use common sense. We can’t force you to not share your login details, but if you do get hacked because your friend was stupid, then you only have yourself to blame.
Oh and last but not least for those who still want confirmation.
9. ACCOUNT ACCESS AND PERMISSIBLE ASSIGNMENT
By clicking “I ACCEPT” You warrant and represent that you: 1) are at least 18 years of age and otherwise legally competent to read, understand and accept the provisions of this agreement on behalf of yourself; 2) are at least 18 years of age and otherwise legally competent to read, understand and accept the provisions of this agreement on behalf of yourself and a minor age 13-17 for whom you are legally permitted to allow access to the Game; or 3) are a minor age 13-17 who has been authorized to click “I ACCEPT” under the provisions of Section 9© below. YOU ARE HEREBY FOREWARNED THAT NCSOFT MAY, IN ITS SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION, EXERCISE ITS SECTION 3© RIGHT TO TERMINATE BASED ON FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE CRITERIA ABOVE.
Each Account may only be used by one person. If a minor has been allowed access to an Account under Section 9© below, only that minor may use the Account thereafter. Except as provided in Section 9© below, You may not make any assignment or transfer of rights, obligations or liabilities related to this agreement and any attempt by You to do so is null and void.
So there you go boys and girls. You are NOT allowed to share your account. Unless you happen to be a father/mother and your son/daughter wishes to play. If you do get banned and you say “Oh it was my son/daughter”, you will need to provide photo ID (yours and your son/daughter — passport/drivers license or national ID card for example) along with a birth certificate
Not so sure about it being against the rules, who says I can’t play on my account at my friend’s house on his pc? Respectively who’s to say your friend is not playing on his account on your pc? There’s no way to tell
Actually this is the beauty of IP tracking and behaviour/language. Also Arena.net holds the right to ban your account for ANY reason, WITHOUT warning.
If your friend was to be an kitten and delete your items/characters/gold and you contacted Arena.net, most of you account sharers will say “Oh noes I’ve been hacked please help!”
They would look at your account acccess history and see that no one hacked you, but you were logging in from your normal location(s) and thus you won’t get any help, apart from the reasons of “don’t share your account and you won’t have this kind of problem.”
But again common sense. People who think they can get away with something, normally end up, the ones crying the most, when they’ve been banned.
(edited by Vepo.4208)
Account Sharing, has ALWAYS been against every single rule that a developers has enforced, where the games need to be played online.
Account Sharing is pretty much one of the biggest reasons why some people get hacked. You give your account information to your “friend” whom you have no clue what their computer security is like.
Also you can never trust your friends unfortunately. You could end up with a banned account because your “friend” wanted to test out some 3rd party software (bots) and it results in your account being banned.
Finally for people who say “show me this in the rules” are basically people who are already account sharing.
“I think ANet won’t ban people for helping friends or logging in to get daily rewards or anything for them. "
“An official statement would be nice though….”
/facepalm
The official state is in the kitten link that you were given. Seeing as you are too lazy to find the right section I will provide it below.
2. LIMITED LICENSE — SERVICE, CONTENT AND SOFTWARE LICENSED NOT SOLD
Additional License Restrictions — You acknowledge You will not directly or indirectly:
sell, sub-license, rent, lease, grant a security interest in, borrow, lend, loan, network or engage in any activity that could in any way transfer or provide others access to any Service, Content, Software, or parts thereof, including but not limited to any serial code number, access key or the like.
The above means YOU CAN NOT SHARE/SELL/TRADE/BUY ACCOUNTS!
Now moving onto the next section:
3. DURATION OF AGREEMENT, ACCOUNT TERMINATION, REFUND REQUESTS
Account Suspension and/or Termination for Cause — NCSOFT may suspend and/or delete Your Account for cause (e.g., You breach, violate, or otherwise fail to comply with each and every provision of, this agreement) as well as any other Account ID, Account Display Name, NCSOFT Message Board ID, Character ID, Team, and/or characteristics related to an Account ID. Any suspension and/or termination under this Section 3©, as well as the timing thereof, shall be conclusively determined in the sole and absolute discretion of NCSOFT. Suspension and/or termination of an Account under this provision also suspends and/or terminates (as applicable) any license granted by NCSOFT under this agreement but does not affect any other provisions of this agreement.
So the above means … You can have your account banned, if you are caught trading/sharing/buying/selling accounts.
Just have some common sense and avoid getting your account banned. if your friend really wants to play Guild Wars 2, then tell them to buy it themselves. I’m sure they can afford the cost, even if they get a paper delivery job or ask their parents to use their credit card.

What Deceiver. The cluster bomb spam, helps in WvW when fighting others who can pop into stealth in melee range.
Let’s have a look
Nothing to do at work, so may as well slack :P
Music was a bit too mellow for my liking, but you did well in the fights you recorded. The only down side I have to say is the overall the framerate of the video. I would say to find out more with uploading videos in 60fps and make your 720p versions as clear as the 1080p quality version of the video.
But keep it up though. Practice makes perfect and we all start and work our way up
(edited by Vepo.4208)
Vepo,
As mentioned previously I am happy with the inclusion of the Lunar New Year holiday.
My contention was with the argument(s), yours in particular to be honest, made to oppose the OP’s opinion.
As you say, Halloween is largely a NA/EU holiday….and we are playing on NA/EU servers of a game that cannot be accessed in the nation in which the Lunar New Year holidY originates. I disagree with the OP’s opinion but it is not unreasonable to question the inclusion of a Chinese holiday in a game not available in China and in which frequently requested asian content has been excluded.
Call me Doowie :P haven’t been referred too as Vepo for a while now xD
Oh I didn’t mean to come across as being disrespectful, so I do apologise about that, if that’s what you saw.
I do imagine though that if the Chinese were able to access the same servers as us, they would be happy with the Western holiday events
@Ashen.2907
Just because there is a regional holiday, doesn’t mean that country has to be playing the game. The Chinese Lunar New Year is celebrated all over the world because we have many who are from China or have relatives (but they live in the United States or Europe) and they want to maybe experience it a little, even if it’s through a computer game.
Of course there will be people who will complain, but they are those who will complain for the sake of complaining. The kind of people who should never been allowed anywhere near a computer/smartphone.
That wasn’t a rant at you, but just in general to those who don’t like change or seeing something different. Having the same routine can become boring very quickly for many. So just adding something different to spicy it up, is always welcome.
@Tom Gore.4035
Would you have preferred that they took the time off making the Heart of Thorns expansion to have more man hours places on a temporary event? Or that they throw a few developers (this including design/programming/sound and others) onto making this small event, while everyone else can focus on getting the expansion completed for everyone as soon as possible?
You personally may not like the event, but that doesn’t mean that everyone else shares your opinion. There will be future events, which may be better or worse in your opinion, but this is where constructive feedback needs to be provided.
Saying “Oh they never spent enough money on creating this” for example, is just a post made by someone who wishes to complain for the attention.
@Ardenwolfe.8590
That is indeed correct. Halloween is a very American and Europe thing and most European countries even is celebrate Halloween either.
However the bottom line is that people will complain for something that has no direct impact on their lives or the way they play their character. You aren’t forced into playing Dragon Ball or any other events that are added into the game for a very short period of time.
So just enjoy what you have access too and be glad you don’t have to pay a monthly fee to access Guild Wars 2.
May I ask what this obsession with bunny ears is all about?
Anime, playboy bunnies … furry obsessions…. countless reasons :P
Depends if they were limited or not.
/goes off to find a Chinese restaurant menu
have you ever said or did something when few sec afterwards you realize you might get banned for this.
and what is it ^^
I haven’t done that in Guild Wars 2, but I have in other games … mostly MOBAs xD
Yeah what Ardenwolfe mentioned. They will just say they are going to report you because they personally feel abused by the vote kick.
However; these children don’t understand that anyone has the right to remove someone from a group for no reason. So personally ignore the child and get back to playing
Arena.net will understand you are frustrated, but maybe the things you’ve mentioned in how to fix this problem can’t be done due to possible abuse for example.
So what else would you suggest?
You need to be more clear in regards to the whole situation.
As if you want to report someone who kicked you from a group, then it would be pointless and take up space in the ticket queue, where someone else may have an actually issue.
However if you kicked someone and they abused you, you can just go ahead and report them for harassment (depending on what they said). If they called you a noob or an idiot, then don’t even bother to submit a ticket as nothing will be done and would again be a waste of the customer supports time to look at your ticket.
So if you can run through what was said/done without naming the person or giving a full quote if it violates the forum rules, then I can tell you if it’s worth sending in a report.
Dear, PulsarianDevil (Mike),
On behalf of the rest of the World, I want to apologise that we have events on a yearly basis, that do not exist within the United States.
We do hope you will find it within your heart to understand, that there is more outside the borders of the United States. Please allow us to enjoy our regional celebrations and that Arena.net wish to share in those celebrations with the rest of the community based all over the World.
However; I do find it difficult to understand why you would say that the Lunar New Year was possibly from Afghanistan, when the Lunar New Year is a Chinese celebration.
Afghanistan has Islamic holidays, as I’m sure you know that they are located within the Middle East and not Asian.
I’m 33 and we were educated to understand the different cultures/religions/national holidays around the WHOLE WORLD and not just the country we were born/live/educated/work.
(edited by Vepo.4208)
Yeah, they unfortunately do need an idiot system put in place. I’m not trying to be disrespectful, but there are people who will rush to buy or use something without taking those few extra seconds to double check.
Can you confirm as to what these bugs are please? I’m asking as I’ve yet to come across them.
If you take the time to explain the bugs, firstly it will allow the community team to forward that information to the developers and their QA department, to see if they are on the roadmap of being fixed before the expansion or on the release of the expansion.
You also need to remember that some bugs, sometimes can take a while to fix. It’s not like they can load up the code of the game, change a single line and then upload the hotfix. That single line correction, would then spark more bugs or even server breaking bugs.
So instead of just saying that the current bugs are still there and won’t be fixed, provide some constructive feedback in regards to what the bugs are and how they’ve impacted you and what you’ve done to overcome those bugs.
I just really hope that the druid legendary will be amazing as I do intend on getting it as quickly as possible.
1) The downside to “Use all” is that some people will use it by mistake because they weren’t paying attention and it would greatly increase the amount of contacts that their customer support will receive.
This can only be combated with a confirmation system to confirm that you want to use ALL items and in doing so, no assistance will be provided due to mistakes.
Personally I would love to see a use all feature
2) I would have loved a buy set number feature, when I was doing my crafting. We have this feature in the Trading Post, so there isn’t much coding to be done on the development side of things.
3) It would indeed put that karma to use with the spamming of recipes. Again the system is already in place and will just need the developers to add the use of those items into that system and then generate the need random system to give you a recipe back in return.
I guess we can only keep our fingers crossed that they are already in the expansion or may come in a future build, when hotfixes/content is being applied.

“Rev skills don’t look original, but an offshoot of other MMOs” Would have been a better title.
You would have got more attention to the thread and had a more interesting conversation. You could have then brought up the links about the skills also being similar to those of the Rogue in WoW and other MMOs.
The downside to have “WoW” in the thread title, does draw a lot of negativity before people start reading.
(edited by Vepo.4208)
At this moment in time, people will always turn to WoW to make their points. However; this unfortunately is due to most people starting their MMO adventure with WoW. If you had played back in the days of Ultima Online, Dark Age of Camelot or Everquest, you will know the skills you are referring too have been around for a very long time
(edited by Vepo.4208)
Oh yeah I forget about the Engineer xD
Well I’m just hoping Druid will have some nice support skills!
But again thanks
Thanks for the suggestions. I will have a look over some builds for the Elementalist to see which are great to leveling up to 80 quickly (aside from powerleveling up some more crafting professions).
Hey Ladies & Gentlemen,
I thought I would come here and ask you beautiful people as to your opinions as to which ranged profession, I should make next. I’m currently on a Ranger and I’m not really a melee person.
So my options are Elementalist/Mesmer & Necromancer. So what would you suggest and why?
I look forward to reading your replies
(edited by Vepo.4208)
They have internal testing and they will have a selected beta test. I don’t think the will have an open beta of this expansion.
But of course we’ll wait and see.
The cap is fine as it is in my opinion.
The build isn’t what counts, when people are streaming.
It’s all about the entertainment value. If the streamer is really entertaining, but then I don’t think people really mind what build they are using. However; someone could have the perfect pew pew build and take people out with amazing skill, but they have the entertainment value of a paperbag.
People will go and watch the entertaining guy/gal.
What Sube Dai said. What is your build, what items are you using (main / offspec) and what runes are you using in those items?
I didn’t even know there was a “Achievement Point” leader board. That is somewhat strange to have in a game, where people have the ability to exploit their way to the top.
It doesn’t concern me either way.
1) I only found out about the festival from people on Teamspeak, after we had done our daily tri-wurm run. Otherwise I would have seen the whole “new build available” as a possible client side/server side hotfix, to some issues that I never encountered.
So they could have sent out something to inform players of the new event happening within the game itself. However; with a simple question ingame or even checking twitter/reddit, you would have found this information.
2) If you spent 10 gold, you’ll get 9 gold back, if you don’t get lucky with getting some extra things, but the amount of gold requested and the possible return is just all about luck/rng, but remember you are never forced into buying them. However; I can understand that some people may find this frustrating.
3) Everyone is diferent in terms of understanding what is happening around them, but thus far I’ve not seen you once mentioned you would ask those around you or friends. This is unfortunately you downfall as you didn’t take the time to communicate yourself. Remember that for the future, Anyandrell
4) This could be due to your possible settings/computer, but even with there be a lot of people around I was still able to find the NPCs. This could be due to players in your map wanting to be annoying and standing ontop of the NPC. shrug
5) It’s something extra to do. It’s free, you didn’t pay for it and you are not forced into doing it. There will always be events that people enjoy and others hate.
My final conclusion: You have the ability to use the chat to ask questions to those, who may have more information that yourself. You should not be afraid to ask or even the read the chat, which I’m pretty sure others will be asking the same questions you have in mind.
However; even with the perfect event, with all form of media used to inform people, someone somewhere would complain about something.
(edited by Vepo.4208)
Never used SweetFX. Will have to look over the Youtubes to see what kind of visual change it gives to the game.
Personally it would be cool to have a medium ele, with a shape shift ability and the ability to move around very quickly like a ranger for example.
It’s all but, yeah and may bes, but I just hope Arena.net get around to releasing more information soon
My concern is the ability of people to have all kinds of concerns without having any clue as to what the druid is.
You do have a valid point Diovid. However; allowing people to voice their possible concerns of what they wouldn’t like to see, may provide Arena.net with some information, which they may have overlooked for example.
Also it’s good to allow people to vent from time to time.
Do you think people would then start to make threads titled “Vines are OP!” ? :P
What BrunoBRS said.
But in regards to the OP, I don’t see Druids being a healer, but as someone mentioned a Nature based Elementalist with a lot of possible movement.
But we will shall see when we get closer to the release of the expansion.
Ah it’s fine, I found this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/The-Druid
Sorry for the spam.
Hey Ladies & Gentlemen,
I’ve not seen any threads about this recently, so I thought I would make one to get your opinions on the Druid.
Personally I want to play one, but hope it won’t be too terrible. I think the Ranger will have their Longbow removed, to take the staff for the Druid profession. I’m trying to figure out where they will fit in WvW/Dungeons and other group content as I highly doubt they will be anything like GW1 Druids.
So what are you thoughts, concerns, opinions or hopes?
(edited by Vepo.4208)
No clue yet. Depends on what the guild wants to do … and if I can get the vacation time approved for a few days of the release xD
