There is no such thing as a roaming guardian, any remotely competent thief, Mesmer and necro will wipe the floor with you and you will NOT be able to escape any zergs or even a 1v4 gankbang.
In short, unless you are happy solo clearing the 2 supply camps close to your BL waypoint, I would try a different class. Heck now even a warrior is much much better at roaming than a guard. You should stick to front lining in zergs tbh
I would have to disagree with this as i have no problem getting away from most zergs and most of the time i solo roam Mes are easy if you use Staff / GS
Lol gankfest already in WvW so whats the difference of having it in on Opposing Server side the maps are to small for the population of the servers which causes 30+ zergs or in your words gankfest with WvW you cant run solo cuz you run into ppl that are just farming karma and WEXP with is usually 15+ so where is the fun in that to get steamrolled by 15+ players that really have no skill just run with a big group when this game was first released it was fun as you had to run around for a few minutes to find someone yes 1 player now that was fun
I would have to agree with this as offhand and main hand equal a 2 hander depending on your off hand you actually get one extra stat (shield) say 2 Soldier Runes give the double amount you would get from 2 handers so yes 2 weapons have more of a advantage due to the extra Sigil or Rune so YES!!!! to 2 sigils or runes on 2 handers
So first off I have been playing this game since first CBT well anyway my main focus on MMO’s is PvP I really cant stand much time of any sort of PvE so with that said I have a suggestion to Openworld PvP not only in WvW but what about a way to travel to the opposing server for that week that we are against and pvp on there server so like me im on EB and we are against XX we can travel to there server and pvp on there map outside of WvW for those that have played AION kind of like rifting WvW its just all zerg and kills pvp it has no point as to pvp with a zerg of 30+ (make more maps in WvW)you can find a 1v1 only if you agree WTH is that I want to catch the person off guard that is called PvP when ppl are doing quests they always have to be on there guard I believe it would be fair due to the fact that you downlevel depending on what area you are in and have to take more decision making on a fly cuz anyone anywhere can pop out and don’t forget about mobs as well of course you want get anything from pvp but its just more of the fun and the rush that would be true PvX not like WvW where you know you going to pvp and expect it not like in area maps you don’t know if there is someone in a bush waiting for you are hunting you down well anyway with all that said I hope you guys feel the same way as me
Suggestion: True Openworld PvP on Server side not only in WvW with Week Opposing servers
This is the build our close to what i run my staff has the 25 stacks of healing power putting me at around 1240 healing power and with food and traits 3600 toughness and about 21k HP my dodges heal me for over 1100 HP if there is a warrior my toughness gets to 3700 or 3800 dont remember but i usually run with 2 other guardians i swap stakitten once i get the 25 stacks to another staff with soldiers crest
Also for healing power on my side i have sigil 25 stacks of 10 healing power plus i run mace and shield and healing signet but once i get home i will post more
my setup is a combine of Knights gear, accessories are a mixture of stuff once i get home i will let you guys know what i have the reason i only use 5/6 Soldier runes is i remove 2 conditions every 10sec plus i run 2 shouts with pure of voice last piece in armor is crest of soldier which gives me 20power 14 vit and 14 toughness i can hit over 4k toughness once i get my one ascended ring everything else is only exotic gear as for trait skills it all depends on who i run with since i have another guardian that runs full heal i work around that we can take waves of groups with no problem
For runes your best bet is Soldiers last piece removes conditions not to mention you get more HP with it removing 2 conditions every 10 sec is nice also with shouts removes 2 conditions if you have Pure of voice Renewed Focus is i think the best elite skill guardians have combined with virtues
I also run Knight set and Soldier runes 5/6 of them my stats
3775 Toughness (Food and Trait) have hit 3996 Toughness with warrior
21k HP
1968 Power
Crit and Crit Damage are 30%
Healing Power is 780 (1030)
I seen the same thing yesterday coming out of our spawn point in defenders map was the only one there on top of the rock arrow cart hit me from there fort i was like wtf i didnt know arrow carts went that far then i ran off rock and surly the aoe ring followed me while i was getting hit the whole time while i was running i was like WOW!!! did i miss something last patch so i ran to there fort and only noticed one AC keep in mind i was getting hit the entire time with the AOE flame ring indicator following me
If someone hasn’t mentioned it to the OP yet (sorry, some of these postings, while helpful, are just walls of text to me), the Shield does have the benefit of providing extra defense to your stats.
Not to mention it gives your team mates protection and a AoE push with heal burst which is not much but still helps shield #5 has saved alot of my friends from getting stacked
i will try to make it short.
i’m a wow player for the past 6 years,
Now i want to ask few simple questions, to make it easy i will sort them by numbers.
1) Is there a PVP gear and pve gear? (like resilence in wow?)
2) If i use a shield, do i get anything else exept the 2 abilities? (in wow, in the moment u use shield, u have X% to block attacks)
3) ^ if not – what else shield gives exept the 2 abilities?
4) If i want to be def’ Guardian, low damage, high surv’. should i go for thoughness or vitality as main stat? Sentinel or Knight gear?
Any tips/good builds for def’ wvw Guardian will be great.

Well for Guardians you want to have about 3k Armor 40% Crit Chance and 65%+ Crit Damage HP can very from 16k+ HP you will survive very well if played well i can run in a zerg and usually down 3 to 4 ppl and run back out and have my friends finish it off we have a group of 5 guardians so its fun as hell we just keep healing each other

Celestial accessories are all-stat accessories (like runes of divinity) they provide for a smaller increase to each stat than dedicated accessories, but more overall points.
My instincts say to go with something that has dedicated crit damage (Beserker or Cavalier) because if you are going to have crit damage in your build, it’s most efficient to do it through trinkets (at least ascended ones).
But ascended gear is such a pain to obtain I don’t want to make a mistake.
Ya dont get Celestial ones to be honest what is it that your looking for and i can help you out i have 2 guardians and been playing them since beta so im sure i can help ascended gear is not hard to come by but let me know what you want your goals are

ill copy paste for an indication about my AH build. I use 6 pieces of soldiers in my gear with zerker weaps and 6 ascended zerker jewelry. My stats right now are about:
3200 attack
44% crit
2700-2800 armor (cant remember on top of my head)
18 or 19k health
83% crit damage (93% with crit food)
I run GS/staff with standard AH build. This is unbuffed afaik.. Cant login right now to check facts. I usually play in a guild strike team of 15-20 ppl per session, we wipe 60+ zergs and survive very well
I have same stats except my armor is 3064 18k HP and missing 2 ascended accessories Back piece and ring
As a causal guild we DONT!!! use Guild Websites or Forums we just flow in game its all about the fun we learn as we go to work together GW2 is a place to relax and for stress relief
all that we ask is the following

3. Be on mumbles for guild Activity (No mic is ok)
Just a heads up guardians start to get fun at 20 so keep lvling and once you hit 20 it starts to get fun as for low lvl gear try gear with toughness and weapons with power mace/shield and Greatsword and lvl 20 you get 2 stats on gear i believe its Toughness and Vitality and weapons power precision unless its lvl 15 dont remember. I have 2 guardians my second one i did in WvW and dailies only from lvl 1 to 80 in about 146 hours which is not bad guardians are fun to play

Renewed Focus is amazing if timed right with shouts to clear conditions before popping RF while channeling RF you can use your virtues and once again when RF is done channeling you can use virtues again not to mention you block all in coming damage while channeling so to me i love the skill. I also have a lvl 80 Engi and there elite Supply drop is a great way to stun and apply more damage both skills for Guard and Engi need to be timed correctly for the best result.
I noticed these Eles do have more DPS and away more ways to get away and are every bit as tanky. We need a skill much like the Templar’s in Aion that has a speed buff that ignores combat and skill slows to allow us to close the gap.
That must be a new skill never heard of that skill in aion for Temp unless your talking about godstone almost same thing in GW2 Guardians only way to slow is chill when weapon swap or on crit works for me
Well GW2 speed buff is different than the Aion speed buff I am talking about. In GW2 once you are in combat the speed buff is not as fast as the buff is when you are not in combat.
In Aion, its just a regular skill, not a Godstone buff, once you activate it you get a burst of speed something like +50% for a short period of time, of course you have to use other stability skills with it to ignore slows and such. This is needed for Guards in GW2 to help us close the gap.
oh ok gotcha like the 22% run speed boots dont remember the cap for speed but ya that would be nice and also while in combat you do lose speed for guards but as guards you can many ways to close the caps which is pretty easy unless ele uses ride the lightening or mist form then you wont catch them

I remember in Beta 1 Guardians had the highest HP at lvl 13 in WvW a friend and i had around 25k HP it was insane to have that much hp we where gods in WvW then they changed it i think in Beta 3 dont remember but the HP went down alot but i love my guardian since beta 1 and yes balancing Vit and Toughness is your best bet to survive
Just sunday my friend and i where roaming in WvW and came across 2 d/d eles took down my friend but they couldnt take me down at all staked them both d/d Eles are so predictable as to there rotations in skills that i usually always see the same rotation and know how to counter it was a good fight my friend was a mesmer and me as a guardian

used to have similiar stats until i started to fight packs of boon haters , a good necro outruns that easily doesnt matter how much RC you have
When i go to WvW i usually run with my friend Necro full bunker build his HP can hit i think 28k or 30k his defense is about 3200 both of us run around and its funny he just stands there while i pull them in i love it ya but necros are tough thats for sure i stay away from them most of the time
as for my stats attk was incorrect its 3022 Crit Chance is 42% and Crit Damage is 56% sorry checked it yesterday once i got home
but im 0/10/30/25/5
full ascended tinkets with Knights set and soldier runes
I love my GS and Hammer for control and burst its all i use in WvW hammer #2 i believe has a nice aoe damage switching from GS to Ham at the right time can cause havoc shield/mace and GS for PvE
So i guess my 3622 Armor with Shield and Mace is a waste?? i didnt know that armor didnt work above 3k armor or am i not understanding. The way i understand it is anything above 3k armor is a waste is this correct or not?

Over all and most important go with the stats that make you more comfortable in your play style we can only give curtain examples of our build but everyone has there own likes in stats and play style just have fun with and check the link i posted it will come in handy it did for me
