GWEN and GGB (Gamers Giving Back) turned 7 years old in January! This means that the 7th annual Toga Party for MS (Multiple Sclerosis) is just around the corner!
The date of our event will be later this year than usual. May 13th from 12pm-4pm Central Time. ( 6pm-10pm BST) in Divinity’s Reach (Lion’s Arch in GW 1) !
This event is going to be on both NA and EU side of Guild Wars 2 and also Guild Wars 1
We are currently re-vamping and planning the event and if you, your guild or a group of friends want to volunteer this year – let us know! Yailith.4056 is my contact information.
We communicate via Slack.com and will be having another volunteer meeting on March 25th at 1pm Central time on Teamspeak too.
In the past we are raised almost $30,000 in total towards Research for finding the cure for Multiple Sclerosis! We hope to smash our yearly record of just over $5000 raised again this year!

Pink Day in LA (Lion’s Arch) is just around the corner and we wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of the details about this amazing charity event!
What is Pink Day in LA?
Pink Day in LA is an event that was created to support members in and out of our community who have lost someone or are currently battling cancer. This event started in 2010 as an official fundraiser created by the Guild Wars community. Our goal is to continue to raise money for Research – while educating individuals about global programs and providing support within our video gaming community for all.
Where and When?
October 22nd, 2016 , beginning at 12pm Central (6pm GMT) and ending at 6pm (12am GMT)
NA and EU Servers – we will have 2 Megaservers supported on each area. Watch the LFG tool or join our our various squads that day to join us!
What should I expect at Pink Day and where are the details?
There are going to be several events at Pink Day like:
- Costume Contest
- Diving Competitions
- Human Darts (yes, we know it sounds rough- but it is fun!)
- Strike a Pose ( for all the Divas in our community)
- SPVP Tournament (Sign-ups will be on our website during the first hour of the event!)

It is important to know that while this event is a charity event – we of course want to celebrate and reward people for being part of the cause! So far we have at least 10 legendaries that are going to be given away, several pre-cursors and tons of other “surprises” up our sleeves.

I know that the Gamers Giving Back krewe is planning on having a team…as well as the Sol guild from Sorrows Furnace – as it gets closer…maybe we can have an event together!
Hey! You know that we always keep partying well into the night! We are planning at least 72 hours straight of live djs before, during and after the Toga Party event!
Small update about the Grape Stomp!
We are looking at a variety of different things to do in the game for it – any suggestions of what we could do during this would be appreciated
So far we are thinking :
1. Orr Stomp ( basically a full clear, events and gathering of the Orr area)
2. We have an insane amount of shovels, so some time in Silverwastes may occur
3. Dry Top to gather some dust and other items to create some Guild Hall worthy prize packs
4. Dungeons, Fractals and maybe some HoT battles
We will be announcing all the details promptly 15 minutes before the event starts for Grape Stomp via gw-en.com (on-air) and @gw_enetwork on twitter.

BUT FIRST – The first ever…Guild Wars 1 and 2 GRAPE STOMP….well not really…let’s just say we need wine…for the Toga Party and by wine we mean ingame prizes. The GWEN staff and volunteers get rather lonely and bored farming for items – so we want to invite the community to join us on Teamspeak ( message Yailith.4056 for TS info) to come farm up some loot, you can choose to support our upcoming charity event by donating some or all of your lootz towards the April event or get some gold for yourselves and keep us company.
We will have our radio stream going, live streams galore ( you can stream it as well – the more the merrier!) Basically we will start at 1pm and continue on until whenever – come and go!
There will be various surprises, randomness and 50/50 draws throughout this completely crazy….like probably there will be white guys rapping or something….who knows – event! So join us and don’t forget…it is all in support of finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis!

Pink Day in LA is returning to Guild Wars 1 and 2 once again and we can’t wait for you to see what we have planned for this year!
New to the Community and wondering what Pink Day is?

There will be 3 NA Megaservers and 2 EU Megaservers as well as 4 main livestreamers for the event. 2 for NA and 2 for EU! They will help with announcing TAXIs into the servers that day, as well as our many volunteers with the PINK guild tag.

We are also doing kitten walk on September 27th starting in Rata Sum in memory of those that are dealing with cancer or have been lost to cancer. This is on both EU and NA side. Pink Day is a day that Gamers Giving Back ( and the Guild Wars community) sets aside to help raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society in the name of fighting breast cancer. Pink Day in LA Hosting Servers
With the introduction of Mega Servers there’s now more of a chance to mingle with other Pink Day goers from different same-regional servers! There are multiple mega server hosts setup in case of, well, multiple mega servers spawning as the event goes on. However, home servers are still in charge of putting it all together!

Ee will be keeping track of the donations and what server you from – so make sure to post that along with your donation to the cause as well – so we can keep a constant real time donation competition! May the best server win!

Hey! This is amazing that you shared your story. I contacted you ingame because the Guild Wars 1 and 2 community do a charity fundraiser every April ingame for Multiple Sclerosis! We are hosting it on the 19th this year…but haven’t posted the final details yet. My mom has MS…and I totally understand people not understanding. I am a huge avocate and an ambassador for the MS Society in Canada. I hope that we can get in touch so you can see what this amazing community does for MS and helping to spread awareness Thanks soooo much for sharing your story! <3

I want to thank Rhonda for organising this great event but also I want to thank the community. The moment Rhonda asked on the radio for one minute off silence in memory of Sadie, at least on my server mapchat was dead for a full minute. A moment I was proud to be an Gandarian
Henge of Denravi was completely silent as well – very proud moment!
I just want to take this time to thank everyone for their contributions towards the event! Whether it was through donations , pitching in as a volunteer, donating in-game items or just wearing pink for the cause and spreading the word – you all were part of a big thing! Showing that gamers do care <3
We were just under $10,000.00 in donations last time I check – but will be over that amount with the final totals that need to be added as I had some cash donations as well in person! That is simply fantastic!
