Yeh, well there is a fine line between bumping your own thread and spam…
Good luck and good hunting.
Why do we get 5-10 different posts like this per day? OP I’m sorry but you aren’t stating anything the rest of the community doesn’t already know. You aren’t providing any opinions or feedback on how you propose to change us for the better.
Most people here play their necros because despite the flaws we enjoy the class. I am sorry you are having a hard time with waiting to see how Anet wants to fix/balance/change this class. Perhaps you might want to play an alt while you wait to see how the class will turn out?
Because many people are unhappy with the development of the class… They come to the boards thinking that this is a place to express their opinions, but really it is not… only positive opinions are allowed.
This whole notion of, “If yer don’t like it, GITOUT!” is absurd… People want to express their negative opinions because they enjoy the class but hate that it is borked.
Just because some people are happy with the current state of Necro class, or have HOPE that fixes are coming, doesn’t mean that everyone is or has to be… just saying.

Also, how many times can one person pimp their own thread??? Just sayin….

Whatever man, any negative opinions on the class are deleted by forum mods any way… I was infracted for my post so therefore only happy-go-lucky ones like this meet the light of day…
Necros need a lot of work.
The mod had the nerve to state that, “Just because I don’t find a class to be fun to play doesn’t mean that it’s broken.”
That is NONSENSE. I find the Necro VERY FUN to play but it IS broken to an extent! That is not fair… but w.e this one will probably be deleted too.
Every thing is rainbows in Necro land.
Please delete this thread since you, forum mod, have already deleted all of my posts in it.
Wow… dem forum mods… gg… well uhh INFRACTED.
I take back all of my opinions and I now keep them to myself. w.e
Anyone who can help me a bit here? I can’t under any circumstances understand who bleed can be better than direct damage.
On a world event, let’s say a dragon, two bleed users is enough to keep up max bleed stack. Any other bleed users are then totally useless, except for the small amount of damage the initial bleed attack is doing.
If im not mistaking, the initial attack on a “bleed attack” takes its damage from power and not condition damage. And if you are “bleed speced” you will not stack up on power.
Bleed is easy to remove, and if it is removed you suddenly got no damage going.
Bleed takes time to build up.Playing a powerspec/direct damage, you will not have this problems.
So can anyone please enlighten me why one should use bleed spec when it is so inferior to direct damage in all situations, so far?
Bleeds are so easily removed by every single class that they become totally worthless. Every thing that you have said is correct.
Correction: Necro is not for ANYONE who wants to be competitive.
Apparently the word quickly gets kittened.
everytime I read “necro UP” I have to laugh. if you know how then you can stack a 20 stack of bleed in no time and removing it via condition removal is non issues as all the skills have decent cooldowns… necro is boss in spvp. just because some things dont work does not mean the class is up.
I don’t know what game you are playing, but in tPVP, virtually every class can remove your bleed with little effort… good luck.
Seriously, try another class for a few months until MAYBE Necro is fixed…
The OP is correct… this class is not viable when compared to any other class.
I am not interested in other videos as I have had my own experiences.
In tPVP, just about every class will remove the conditions that you worked a good 5-10 seconds to begin to add to your target. Once they remove your conditions, you are now at half health and falling fast, but they have eaten your conditions and are still packing damage on to you…
This class is sub par at even stacking bleeds.
In order to stack bleeds, one must also hit every skill shot… miss one or have one evaded just leaves a decent cd where you are being trashed by other classes and btw, they have already removed your bleeds.
Every single class seems to have a way to remove the most important condition for a Necro – bleeds.
This is extra apparent on Engineers who are practically immune to conditions.
What gives?
You are playing a necro, and have less than 20k hp.
Its fairly evident you have a very, very “glass” cannon build.
My engineer has less HP scaling than my necro, and even in my pure damage gear I have more HP than that.
20k hp is pretty high actually… unless you spec into vitality, then you can get like 29k. 20k with toughness is normal.
Indeed, at the least it is false advertising.
Grasping Dead is not a line AoE…

Epidemic is also incredibly funny on Guild Claimant or Tower/Keep Lord NPCs within WvW. Really turns the tide of a battle when a whole group practically puts 25 stacks of bleed, vulnerability and a hude stack of every other condition known to Tyria on themselves. Then try two Necromancers both hitting Epidemic on the same target.
Conditions have maximum numbers of stacks :-(
I can see where you are going with your build, but I cannot see the benefit of your build.
Life Force pool is based on a % of vitality, afaik. Then, if you spec into vitality, you will die too quickly without any toughness. Then, if you spec into toughness and condition damage, your Life Force pool will not be very large.
Your build also only utilizes un-improved marks. A few point swaps out of Soul Reaping could give you a higher radius on your marks…
Well, anyway, I prefer a build more like this… http://www.gw2build.com/builds/necromancer-out-for-blood-bleed-necromancer-condition-out-for-blood-5725.html
It is similar to your build, but I feel that it synergies a bit better than with points into Soul Reaping, (I’ve tried that too.)
I feel as if Zelthios is just trolling regarding the comments from a developer stating that many people haven’t discovered the power of DS yet… kudos.

Condition Duration trumps condition damage… (Assuming the Condition is not cleansed.) Therefore, I recommend 2x Afflicted, 2x Centaur, and 2x Krait armor runes with Sigils of Earth in all of your weapons…
Sigils of Earth will not proc two bleeds in one hit, but the two 60% rolls are cast giving an even greater chance to proc a bleed on a crit.

It is a long time before the fury adds up in duration… that is a lot of time spamming F1… just keep that in mind ;-)
Perhaps this is the mastery that is being spoken of!
But, really, that is a pretty cool find. I doubt that any good builds can be put up around it… well, on second thought, if you spec heavily into Power/Precision, then you can put out a lot of damage with Plague Blast while having a high amount of Life Force.
Plague Blast can crit for around 3k a pop…
Well, tbh, the entire game is made up of polygons, bazinga!

I am addicted to this spec ;-)
Hey OP thanks for this thread, you will probably help out a lot of Necromancer players.
To be fair, it’s 1 1/4 seconds each.
It must be easier to scare people underwater, because there we get an aoe 2 1/2s fear..
I would be happy if my underwater staff did more than 1 tick of bleed’s worth of damage on the #1 attack… how about 200 damage on it non-crit pleeease?
Keep in mind that Poison is used mainly as a way to decrease the healing that the target receives, NOT for its’ damage.
You are 100% incorrect, Rhyse…
Barbed Precision is in the Curses tree which does not add duration to conditions. Also, it does not add more than one bleed stack. It adds one bleed stack which lasts for less than one second, if not a shorter duration. This equates to ~2-4 ticks of bleeding from the trait, which, for me, is about 200-400 damage… worthless or next to it. Compare this to bleeds added by Sigil of Earth which last for ~8 seconds…
Meanwhile, Sigil of Earth adds a proper bleed with over 5s duration when specced as I am.
Something is wrong with Barbed Precision.
(edited by Zero Neutral.7341)
Barbed Precision’s bleed seems to last for 3-4 ticks then disappears… even the Sigil of Earth has a much longer bleed than this… what gives? Maybe it’s a bug.
It seems to me that the bleed left by Barbed Precision lasts for MUCH LESS THAN one second… maybe less than 1/4 of a second… maybe for only one tick… what gives?
Sometimes it lasts for about a second… or about 3-4 ticks… yet I am wearing 2x Centaur, 2x Affliction and 2x Krait runes, and I have Hemophilia and Lingering Curse…
My point is simply this… why does our trait give such a crappy bleed when compared to the Sigil of Earth??? If the trait added the same bleed as the Sigil of Earth, that would be about right.

Is the conditions Necromancer as scary as a Warrior who Bull Rushes and then Frenzy – Rage – Hundred Blades – Weapon Swap – Eviscerate?
Hell, the Warrior could even forgo any survival utility and add in a Fear Me!
Rather simple… why is it that our fear in Death Shroud is so short?
Why is it that our Staff fear is so short?
Can’t we at least have them at a 2 second base duration??? At the very least can our single target fear be a 2 second duration?
One thing that has been bugging me is that when I am stacking conditions on someone, then suddenly they go down just as I hit my epidemic, all of their conditions become erased once they are down.
This is a massive fail for me because now I’ve wasted epidemic on someone who 1 second ago has 15 stacks of bleed and other conditions on them… Once they go down they get a free cleanse of ALL conditions! Then, if they are resurrected by their teammates, now they are alive again with no conditions on them… This is a peeve of mine currently. What is the harm of keeping conditions on downed players?
Another thing is that it seems like every single class can remove conditions. This isn’t really a problem, but it sure is annoying when the only viable spec for your class is condition spec.
Deathly Swarm has been giving me problems because the travel time on the swarm is so low that it is quite often out of range, missing, or being obstructed even though my target was right in front of me when I cast the spell.
When I stack bleeds on someone and they hit Frenzy, it doesn’t seem like the bleeds do any more damage than they were previously… I could be wrong about this, can anyone confirm?
Lastly, I don’t know exactly why, but some times when I am downed, my #2 ability (fear,) does not seem to work on some targets. I am assuming that the fear is missing or being blocked, but this is happening to me against classes like Warrior who don’t have Aegis, or a blind to put on me before finishing me. Is anyone else having this problem?
The models on the pets are pretty bad. Zhaitan summons undead humanoids and there are Ascalonion ghosts everywhere. The best we get are some rats and scorpions? Really? So much for master of death…
Maybe at level 100 we can do those ;-)
its the basic cheese conditionmancer build that any necro that hasnt rerolled yet uses, but a couple wtfs
wtf#1 – Flesh golem instead of plague? really?
wtf#2 – Shrouded removal? You should be hoarding conditions on you, not getting rid of them
Shrouded Removal is there because the site has no glyph for V ;-) check my notes.
I’m not sure that siphon abilities for Necromancer Dagger weapon skills are working properly. They seem much too low to be viable.
I also run the Flesh Golem instead of plague form.
Simply put Plague form never performs and even full conditions the actual damage is exceptionally low. Sure you can spam cripples and blinds but it’s essentially just another form of death shroud to take some heavy damage.
As far as the flesh golem goes I run it strictly for it’s knockdown. I could care less if it actually attacks someone but the knockdown is nice.
I see we share a common view on Plague.
I feel as if the bleeds that I can put out without transforming into the Plague are far more substantial.
When a foe is knocked down it is pretty easy to land AoE on them ;-)
I’m currently using:
However, the build that the OP posted has a bit more invested into Death Shroud… I’ll have to try it out to see if the additional Life Force benefits my play style, thanks.
(I had the wrong sigils equipped on the build.)
Plague is an option, however I don’t like being locked out of all of my weapon abilities… it’s a good choice, though. I use the Flesh Golem to knock down groups of enemies and place an AoE on top of them while they cannot move. I keep the Flesh Golem off of cd and cast it at the fight location… this limits the problems it can have with terrain.
Plague Signet is a also a great choice. I am usually not in the middle of fights, so I don’t use the Signet.
I’ve included Undead runes in my build, and I already wear a Rabid amulet. Good idea, though.
I prefer to have a reduced cool-down on both my staff, and dagger abilities.
Leaving the Mark of Blood when dodging is a bit over-rated, but it does help. One could choose a 10 pt boost to Spite traits instead.
If you check my notes on the build, I have included information on the Greater Marks issues. Surely, these won’t be permanent.
However, Greater Marks is a must for AoE fights. The increased radius on Mark of Blood helps to harass foes. With proper spreading of Conditions, this build can really put out a lot of damage.
If one chooses to instead put 30 point into the Spite traits, then I recommend also going 2x Afflicted, 2x Centaur, and 2x Krait runes. This will maximize Bleed durations.
Great input, all.
This is the only Necromancer build that I have come up with thus far:
http://www.gw2build.com/builds/bleed-necromancer-condition-out-for-blood-5725.html
I am having quite a lot of luck with this build. It has excellent condition control, and transfer. Bleeds could use a bit more length, but the condition damage makes up for it.
By all means, try it out and let me know what you think by leaving a question or comment, cheers.
