Have we the worst condi, direct and hybrid dps of the game?
Have we the worst survavibility in sPvP and roaming WvW?
Yes, but we have a second health bar!1!!1!!!1!!!!

Giving up the jokes, we have the worst condition damage of the game, yes. We have the worst dps of the game and (expecially after the Lich Form nerf) we’re unable to increase it, not even with minions (where they can be used).

We’re not totally the “Condition Class”, we’re more the “Attrition Class” for ANet, that’s how they judge us from the start of the game and that’s the role between they balance us.
We’re the “Corruption Class”, the class that make you weak with your strength, converting what make you strong (boons) into your weakness (weakening conditions).
For ANet we’re not really made to inflict a huge damage, more to be that thing that make others unable to inflict huge damage.

We had a strong condition damage, barely strong as the actual one, but then ANet nerfed Chill damage and we’ve been struck with another bleed source, weak and barely useless (is used because it’s our only condition related grandmaster trait). That was a good thing for the PvE (wich is all balanced around) but a nightmare for who played PvP.

We have more health than all the other classes, then we have lesser survavibility and lesser damage than all the other classes, that’s how ANet balance our class.

Being the attrition class only works when there is something to attrite.

When everything pulses random stability, protection and boons are pure candy, there’s nothing to weaken or convert. Even so, most people ignore half of the conditions in the game because who cares about vuln or 2 seconds of weakness.

It’s just stupid. That’s now anet’s game works.

Necromancer is literally “Conditions: The Class” yet every other class does conditions much, much better.

The point OP is trying to make is that mirror cop demands minmaxing and perfect rotations on a level pugs do NOT perform at. The old comp is still better, just weaker. Mirror comp will only work with very, very talented groups.

Hi, I just wanted to create a quick PSA.

Mark of Horror got gutted, and necro did too by extension. Anet won’t fix it, but I see a lot of people calling for MoH on a lower CD or something as an alternative.

However, no one realizes it already is.

The Sylvari racial elite “Take Root” functions as MoH but on a lower cooldown with more bleed output. The turrets last the same duration. I just wanted to make everyone aware that, while Necromancer is wrongfully gutted, there are very powerful elites still present.

A racial elite is better than class elites. lol.

Take Root is now the best elite you have access to as viper in raids (why are you even raiding on a necro?) so please use it over golem. CC should not be that much of an issue anyway.

We feel that necromancers have been faring quite well gamewide, providing play and counterplay in many spots over the last few months. In addition to a couple of minor bug fixes, we wanted to improve the viability of necromancer power builds, which have been somewhat lacking in presence.
Rending Claws: The damage of this ability has been increased by 15%.
Ghastly Claws: The damage of this ability has been increased by 13%.
Unholy Feast: The number of boons converted to conditions has been increased from 1 to 2.
Fading Twilight: The aftercast of this ability has been reduced by 0.11 seconds.
Chilling Scythe: The aftercast of this ability has been reduced by 0.06 seconds.
Death Spiral: The damage of this ability has been increased by 66%.
Blood Is Power: The recharge time of this ability has been reduced from 30 seconds to 20 seconds in PvP only.
Signet of Vampirism: When the Signets of Suffering trait is equipped, this skill will no longer corrupt boons on players who evade it.
Lich Form—Jagged Horrors: These minions will no longer lose health over time and will instead die 30 seconds after they’re summoned.

See, there’s hardly anything I would consider a nerf in here. if anything, this is a list of buffs

This post has 0 understanding of Necromancer.

Lich form was 15-35% of Necromancer DPS after rampup. Without the horrors, Necromancer is, as a class, dead in the water. This is undeniable.

Hi, this isn’t being posted because anet ignores the class forums entirely due to their toxicity and demanding nature.

Please revert the lich form Mark of Horror nerf to its old state so minions can be healed and sustained, and please put a cap on the amount of minions you can have out at one time (8 or 10 would be very well balanced) instead.

Necromancer was never top DPS to begin with, it was just very efficient and useful DPS. Now this update has entirely trashcanned the entire class outside of fractals, thereby failing to fix what ever was intended to be fixed.

Please do not ruin an incredibly difficult class to (properly) gear with this nerf. It was very demanding and was in a very, very good spot and most things outshined its DPS to begin with.

Lich form was/is a horrible skill… What they changed is just a bad patch to an issue that they had overlooked, however it seem they intend to keep the issues that they intend (like horrible skin/ bad design of transform skills… etc.)

Yes but Mark of Horror didn’t need to get trashcanned, considering it was necros major damage source.

Hittting only the Chrono/Revenant because of Quickness is extremely hypocrital. Warriors fart Might to himself and 5 more every hit, Druids increase party DPS just by existing with Spotter and Grace of the Land while still being able to heal. These are fine and weren’t ever touched, Chrono and Revenant had something nice? Nerf it!

Why is ot okay for other classes to easily generate 100% uptime on the buffs that impact the DPS the most but Chronos and Revenants cannot be part of this? Their individual DPS was already pretty low, what did they get in exchange for their nerfed utility? Chrono a 6% sword damage increase and the Blurred Frenzy buff that’s not very impactful in the overall DPS, Revenant got literally nothing.

If you guys call this balance then I don’t know what to say.

TBF neither of those classes can keep the uptime on 10 players by themselves. Chrono could. Now it’s normalized compared to the others, still 100% uptime on a 5 man pt. Don’t get me wrong I’m not overjoyed at the exclusion of so many classes, but the example is kinda… well wrong.

Chrono can’t do all squad quickness.

PS can might and druid can solo heal, however.

There is. I’ve done no updraft kills without chronomancers, with engineers (power scrappers too), like 5 hammer guardians. There are many ways to skin a gorseval. Don’t slash the ankles of what works to fill a certain niche in such a staggeringly stupid manner as to simply make an entire class worth entirely less than another (necro).

One guy even had warband support man.

It comes down to the players, not the game. They’re changing the game however, for 0 reason.

These changes were entirely backward. Buff, not nerf, other classes.

Running into a raid with 10 engineers should not work for obvious reasons.

The need for healing and dedicated healing is present. A need for buffs that make a certain class viable is also present.

The fact roles exist and some classes fail to fit that role is not a lack of diversity, it’s simply stupid. Raids were not “play how you want” they were “play the best strategically.” Raids have a great deal of diversity. The nullification of two, three more classes from the raid scene, or simply making them even weaker than they were, is nothing short of dumbness.

Having a healer thief with an engineer pulling aggro in cleric’s gear while you have 5 nomad warriors and 3 soldier’s necromancers should not get you through raids. Sorry.

Thanks to this new balance patch, raid diversity is effectively dead.

Necromancer can not out put anywhere near mediocre ele DPS, and so, is irrelevant.
Heralds were weak as-is, now they’re worthless.
Chronomancer was so demanding that now it’s effectively dead too.
Engineer? Lmao.
Thieves? Just get an elementalist.
Guardians? Never really saw the light of day with raids.
Anything but magi druid? Lmao kick.

It seems like anet wants raids to not be harder, but simply more annoying and less enjoyable from a class perspective. It also seems like anet is back on the “we love eles” train, considering they’re pretty much going to be the only DPS class that sees action (thieves are generally subpar).

A lot of my friends threw in the towel as far as raiding goes (we already have 150+, they were just fun but now they’ll be significantly less so), chronotanks and necros, crap, nobody received this patch well because all of the classes (save guardian a LITTLE, and Engineer) had their own place and niche.

I still can’t believe chrono took such a hard hit over WvW. No one thought to split balance? Why can’t they revert these changes and do them right? Is anet actually understaffed or something? It makes no sense how so little is being done with the community of such a giant, profitable game.

How are conditions uncontrollable when most of the viable builds are pure power builds?

Because any build that actually does do condi puts them on you at such an incredible rate and quantity that no real clear except for 100% full clears make it an even fight.

DH is power because it has no condis. Scrappers are power because hammer lets them tank. Herald is power because its damage output is broken. The rest of the classes will ALWAYS do better as condi than power in a 1v1 (except ele). Don’t look at it as if it were some quantitative thing when it’s qualitative.

A condi mesmer or warrior put out such an absurd volume of conditions I can’t realistically see it being balanced. In fact, condi herald is amazing, as is condi engineer. They’ll break you faster than the power variants will, except herald.

With the upcoming SoI nerf, drop chronos.

50%+Herald is going to be (thankfully) dead. The need for so many pugs to have a herald piggybacking on them is finally going to be gone.

Now, I’ve run without chronos and quite honestly done pretty much the same. It’s a bit of a hit, but the extra space compensates well enough in different areas.

a 5:5 mirror comp with 2 chronos and druids will be overkill on heals, a lot of damage sacrificed and generally very little yield. With these updates, I think it’d be more viable to just drop the chrono and herald all together and replace it with 2 thieves or necros.

You camp staff the entire time. It does negligible DPS. The DPS increase, practically speaking, is next to nothing.

Better to overheal and keep necro minions alive than get an extra 500 dps out of your crappy staff. It’s really just next to nothing.

You can’t evade rings of warden either. It’s really annoying when a DH smacks his AoE arrow rain and procs 3-4 rings of warding on mid. There’s no way to get out without stability walking.

While the principle works out for it, not many people like it.
Many people will call it dumb, and depending on the set up it is dumb.
As it is there are groups that find trying to do the mesmer rotation and tanking hard.
That said, the gaps for dps work out something like:
Berserker/Assassin: ~12k
Commanders: ~9k
Minstrels: ~4k
I will say if your group can suddenly bring 2 dps focused druids because of you running minstrels then sure go ahead, otherwise I generally wouldn’t outside of crappy pug healers.
As for the toughness and necromancers, commanders is more than enough toughness for them to not have to care, unless they for some reason have some other toughness. That said most groups don’t bother much with necros outside of wing 2 where it doesn’t matter.
There are other things like the 5k/10s healing from running the matra heal if you are going that far into the whole support side of the gear but it’s pretty meek and you lose quickness, alacrity and dps to do so.

These numbers are incredibly impractical and somewhat deceptive, given that they are 100% unrealistic and won’t be actually achieved. Don’t make chronos think they’re doing 12k, please.

I’ve seen groups do 40k DPS on Zane and an Ele claimed he was the vast majority of it. Not the case.

Druids have a lot of sustain, and the pets its passive that hits like a truck.
And i think the small healing from the rune is not the real problem , but u are the pro right

They’re meant to have a lot of sustain, that’s literally the point of the specialization. Focusing one will instagib it though. A warrior, good necro, chrono, good engineers will take one out 1v1. The people here complaining are DHs, which druids demolish.

Also, the pet is not only not passive, there’s only 1 thing that hits remotely hard – bristleback f2. Nothing else.

Get another class.

Thieves are one thing: annoying. They’re annoying to fight and play against, incredibly so. But they’re easy to swat down and generally, in higher tiers, having a thief is a loss.

edit: Thieves have no real place in GW2. They’re so different from the rest of the classes that balancing the is going to be too hard because of how ridiculously spammy they are.

Ah yes the “everyone else but me is undeserving” belief.

Never judge a player based a single moment or fight, you don’t know what they where seeing on their screen, and chances are there are players out there that think you don’t deserve your rank.

A single moment? Fair.

3 games in a row? A warrior yoloing far? People not being able to rotate for entire games?

No. I queued earlier today on stronghold. I got 3 thieves on my team. They all instantly died to a single warrior, and spent the rest of the game screaming “KILL TREB IDITS”.

I’m not the emperor of PvP. I make mistakes. People make mistakes, and mistakes are never an issue. This is something so far beyond any comprehension of stupid it should not have the title “Legend.”

F3 shield nerf? srry no, average player can easily come behind DH and do some dmg.
So increase immob on Scepter(that noone uses outside of pvp) which 90% classes have trait for decreased duration or immunity? Nope.

They need to nerf class stacking. Max of 2 per each class.

DH was out for 2 seasons (and maybe 1st too). One buff to sword and all crying NERF NERF. So traps were ok for 3 seasons?

Make DH learn its weaknesses and counter them.

Unless the DH is a product of inbreeding, it’s not going to hit with F3 block up. That block lasts for far too long and can attack through its duration. It needs a nerf.

ToF is far too powerful, lasts too long and has too much ability to deny. Sorry, join the rest of the classes. All of the traps are VERY good, especially with traited daze which needs to go too.

You need to know how to kill them. They have absolutely NO damage with their personal weapons. What will kill you is their pet, you need to know what the pet is doing, and the druid will try to distract you and captalize on your ignorance of their pet. Bristleback barrages will annihilate your healthbar, and smokescales will pursue and wear down on you very hard.

A guardian will have 0 chance of killing a good druid. Same with thief unless the thief is particularly spammy and moronic.

I was queueing with a friend in legend as a ruby player and topping scoreboards repeatedly.

I was dominating most 1v1s and 1v2s I got into, and my team would continuously fight off point, die randomly, contest points fruitlessly, and fail to flip while I tried to hold owned points and uncapped points.

Numerous players in Legend do not know how to play the game whatsoever and it seems rode the “Dragonhunter Keyboard-Smack” train to their pretty little icon.

If you’ve made it to legend but don’t know how to hold a point with a lead, or die 2v1 as the 2, what’s wrong? The game or the players?

Warriors yoloing far in LEGEND. Really? For that matter, half of ruby belongs in some kind of manchild kindergarten. This is why people 5-man, is so they don’t get teamed with window-lickers. Fix this matchmaking so the good players rise to the top. Balancing and changing after seasons is just lazy.

I do not want to carry helltrash through leagues, as per current matchmaking.

I will agree though that fighting them, and their general “I’m immune to damage, conditions, being touched and not teleporting to you randomly but I still can put out the most damage in the game.” is ridiculous. They need to lose well over half of their CC, especially on traps, have their invulns cut back and lose trap damage. They should not be able to deny a point just by smacking their keyboard on it.

Some don’t really. I just keep them for crafting/birthdays and stuff. I don’t like the clutter. Can we have a way to clean up the character bars?

Portalling between points should not even be a thing you can do.

It stuns me as to why anet still hasn’t just removed Moa and portals.

Because no game company should ever balance a primarily PvE game around PvP, that’s why. Portal and Moa shouldn’t be removed from the game.

@OP portal range is fine at 5,000 its still incredibly useful. The only change I would like to see is to have the portla exeunt icon greyed out when you are over 5,000 units away. Small change that would allow mesmers to know where is too far.

Then deny them usage in PvP.

Mesmer has some broken crap up its sleeve, and Moa is just the most disgusting and powerful abuse of that.

Portalling between points should not even be a thing you can do.

It stuns me as to why anet still hasn’t just removed Moa and portals.

Daredevil: Passive evades need time cut down. When a condi d/d DD comes at you mashing 3, dodging repeatedly, and pops his signet to just dodge more, then dodges even more with signet, it’s absolutely stupid. There is no way to fight that.

Or: Vault spam and bound spam on point. Easy.

Passive evades? There is only one passive evade on Thief and its in Acro not Daredevil and no one takes it, because no one takes Acro.

All Thief Evades except the one trait in Acro are Active not Passive

And you stop the dodging by using Immobilize or any Daze or any stun, knock down , also an reflect negates the damage same with blocks, and dodges, and cleanses….. And then the big one not standing directly under him and kite him since they lack any semblance of real mobility.

You stop the dodging… During what window? I’m calling vault and d/d 3 passive btw, because they’re not just raw dodges.

There is no window on some playstyles, but I still crap on scrubby thieves, it’s still a bit ridiculous to have one appear out of nowhere on point and completely slam 4 people for 20k damage without being able to be hit.

How is an evade passive if they had to press a button to make it happen… Is Withdraw passive too???

Your hilarious 20k story, if you’re talking about Vault 20k would need like 3 Vaults at least to get that damage on squishy enemies. Vaults which are completely interruptible and blindable as the thief is coming down to the ground. Another thing, a thief that Vaults 3x in a row is out of initiative and will either burn high CDs to escape or die.

Yeah, thieves tend to vault 3-4 times in rapid succession. No, buddy, they’re barely interruptable. When there are two DHs spamming traps on a point, warriors burning crap up and generally flashy effects all over the place, you’re not going to even see the thief until it’s too late, let alone react to interrupt. I’ve had vaults hit 9k on medium armor alone, and I wear menders. It’s not rare or hard. Passive might have been the wrong word but my point stands fairly well.

They’re easy to fight in a 1v1, sure, but their group denial is stupid broken.
