When you prematurely dismiss anyone who may disagree with you as flaming, it’s not conducive to healthy (and much-needed) debate.
That being said, the idea is not excellent, for reasons others have already stated. Also, Ele is only great when played well. Part of playing well is having your rotations down and part of having your rotations down is timing. Those who have "mastered’ ele should feel accomplished in doing so, (I am certainly not one) and removing cooldowns on attunements is an unnecessary buff for the class. Try out other weapons and builds, max your trait lines, and see how you feel then. Enjoy the challenge!

I’ve been saving up for the Belladonna of Dreams Greatsword (from TA) to finally complete my perfect reaper look <3 if anyone is feeling so inclined, I would love it! Thank you!

I also solo’d it with my power necro (pre-reaper). I died several times in the first part, then canach also was not affected by my reflecting grenades so I just used regular attacks and got him that way. The fight took quite a long time but other than that I had no bugs and felt pretty accomplished after, as I am a pretty casual player. When I finished and spawned out, i saw many players in say chat complaining about bugs who were fighting at the exact same time as me, so I’m not sure how widespread the bugs were :/ I imagine it would be extremely frustrating, that is a long and involved fight.

The racist Charr near him constantly whining about Sylvari and Skritt makes it even worse. Wish I could stab him in the neck.
Except he’s not talking about Skritt. In GW1 EotN you have to work with a Charr and he calls Gwen, “Mouse”. I think he’s referring more to Humans than Skritt.
I thought he meant asura
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
that asura near FE who coughs to death repeatedly, hands down is my least favourite sound in the game.
That stupid stupid job-o-tron backpack people have

there’s a flute that plays in a graveyard that’s pretty annoying too

You bought the base game for $10. And you’re mad that you can’t get your $10 back?
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
yeah, I hate crafting in every game ever, but with this one I just bit the bullet, sat down with a guide and maxed out the professions I needed. I’ll likely do that with my alts as well, but thankfully i have a great guild to chat with while I do the mundane tasks

Hey there! I also play power necro and use lich. I have considered using plague lately but here’s what I do with my lich.
Generally I’ll cap home, then mosey on into mid (or wherever the rest of my team is) stay on higher ground, pop lich and take out unsuspecting players as they’re distracted by my other teammates (asking for a target first helps) I pop lich when I have very high HP, and stay in even while being attacked. Then when HP is getting too low I drop lich form and immediately go into DS.
Sometimes if I’m defending a point and see a single enemy running in to contest, I’ll pop lich form. At least half the time they’ll turn around and run away and the other half I’ll kill them. This works usually when people are just afraid of how hard lich hits and don’t know how to counter it. Even in my guild pvp tournaments other players say they’re afraid to fight me even when they’re much more skilled than I.
In skyhammer, use the jumpy thing and stand up on the ledge for mid point. In forest, standing up on the ledge behind the point. for support.
I almost never ever use lich in group fights when I’m on the ground. It’s too easy to get burst down without landing a hit. Also watch out for being moa’d while in lich, and watch for reflects so you don’t kill yourself. Since lich can spank so many people, if you end up killing yourself due to reflects people get REALLY high on their horses and will troll you lol
Also, if you see an enemy using lich, it’s funny to hide behind him/her and kill them with your lich.

LOL i mean this is definitely not the point of your post, but scream was also created as a satire, making fun of the tropes of horror movies. So i don’t necessarily think it was considered really scary even in its time. i wonder if GW2 necro was supposed to be a satire for necromancers… hmmmm
however now i want to see a screenie of your necro for lols
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
would love this… i want to be able to bring along my alts for guild missions, jump into dungeons, etc. I have to make myself sit down and run my alts to specific waypoints to unlock the ones I need, but like i said, i would love to have them unlocked across all characters. I don’t even care about map completion for them, just the waypoints
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Zoo necros are basically the new turret engie, takes about as much skill and is about as effective.
The problem is that it is so easy to play and do nothing to hold a point that it is quickly becoming the only thing most necros will play. That is pretty much on Anet.
Lol, no. I maybe see MM 1 out of every 10 necros I encounter. I also main necro and I never play MM, except when I FIRST started GW2 and had no idea how bad the AI was.
Just kill the blood fiend first – there goes the healing skill. Then focus MM. Throw down wells, Moa, they’re not difficult if you can target the actual MM. IMO, the only benefit MM has is distracting the other player
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Well the good news is if you want to play WvW, Necro is a pretty solid class. I main necro for everything, because I love it and find it the most fun to play. I also find ele very fun. It’s all about personal taste! Whatever is the most fun for you, do it.
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
I don’t really mind them, I can get all 3 just by jumping in the practice arena for PvP usually. I stopped doing the event ones because I found I would be running my kitten off trying to make it and I’d always miss out, so I ended up running around a random map like a chicken with its head cut off for way, way too long. Before the change I didn’t pay attention to dailies, to be perfectly honest.
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Caledon for sure! The Norn area is my least favourite – I guess having lived in a place with snow 6 months out of the year made me less tolerant of it in any medium! It’s usually the maps I complete last.

As a child, whenever I used the phrase “I’m bored” at home, my mom would give me chores to do. I learned quickly to keep myself entertained. Whether that’s inside or outside GW2 it makes no difference. There’s always something “better” you could be doing with your time. Complaining about boredom is counter-productive. Get creative inside the game, or turn it off and do something fun outside. If there’s nothing at all else to do, mop your floors.
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
I would definitely watch a video like this, especially as a relatively new PvP player. I do read about the maps, but it’s not enough. Some teams have different strategies, sometimes I’m not sure where I should go after respawning, and teammates are often too busy fighting to communicate via chat. I try to do my best, practice a lot on my own time, but from time to time there’s people yelling at me or blatantly verbally abusing me because I didn’t go where they wanted. This is not the majority of the time, but it does suck when it happens. I understand there are trolls, or new players who actually don’t care about what happens, but I’m genuinely learning and figuring it out and can use all the help I can get!
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Whoof… well, in my experience and from what I’ve heard, thief takes some skill to play well. Warrior is easier for sure, but you’ll have some people say it takes no skill (all professions take skill, let’s get real) I would try both for a little bit and see how they feel before you decide (ie, in PvP or WvW so they’re auto-leveled)
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
it literally just changes the appearance, that’s the only gain. I transmute everything based on my outfit, it’s an addiction :P

I agree with most said above. What I DO like about lich form is when some players are not aware of how to counter it and they just run away in PvP (when they get lucky and I can’t kill them spamming 1)
That being said, I’ve used the jagged horrors to “distract” and Chilling Wind to get somebody out of my face, but I generally don’t use them because of cast times and I only have such few precious seconds in lich form.
I rarely, if ever, use the other skills.
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
1. I used to, until recent nerf
2. doesn’t really affect bosses/champs
3. I’m past making suggestions because they don’t care anyway just stopped using it
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
I main necro (it’s the most fun class, imho) and don’t have much of a problem when LFGing for dungeons, as long as you can take care of yourself and don’t have to be babysat by your team you shouldn’t run into too much trouble. I have been kicked maybe 2-3 times by elitists before being given the chance to enter the dungeon though (and no, they were not advertising as such on their LFG)
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Yeah, the hairstyles I have from kits do not move, but i like the look of them anyway and prefer them from the standard choices (for human, anyway)
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
I may be mistaken, but I think only the ‘standard’ hairstyles are programmed to move like natural hair, and anything from the makeover/hairstyle kit does not move.
Is this hairstyle from the standard “starter” ones, or from a kit?

Thanks for the response – I am preaching to the choir here but feel as though even just a little vigor would help me out!

Hey fellow necros
Just to be clear, I’m “relatively new” to PvP but something I’m having difficulty with on my necro is being thrown around like a ping-pong ball from time to time. How do I counter being knocked back, thrown around and pulled all over the place and even just immobilized for long periods? This seems to happen from time to time in a match and I feel helpless, but I’m not sure if I just need to L2P lol.
If helpful, I run power necro with (attempted) heavy use of shroud, dagger/warhorn
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Man, I love teleporting downed teammates in PvP before they can get stomped and rezzing them… like a lot. Feels so boss. I love transfusion, makes me feel helpful. Love the look and style, love death shroud, love my lich that makes everyone run away… sigh good times
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Do you use LFG? Do you have any toons to level 80? Do you have a guild? Have you been to SW? Do you do world bosses? If you gave up at the first door of the first dungeon you did, I strongly recommend trying again, or trying something different. If I am trying a new dungeon path I list my party under LFG and say “first timer” and usually my party fills immediately with others wanting to learn together, or someone who wants to help me learn.

My personal favourite is:
Lionguard Thetan: I don’t trust lip-smilers.
Lionguard Morris: Lip-smilers?
Lionguard Thetan: People who smile with just lips. They’re obviously hiding something.
We talked about this in our guild awhile ago and here were some other winners:
“they say distance makes the heart grow fonder, so could you go away?”
" I can’t believe I’m being ordered around by talking trees and mice…"
“When I grow up, I want to be an Oakheart!” -Sylvari during Belcher’s Bluff
and of course, “I…. ENJOY PIE!”
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Hey! Gratz on your first 80. I recommend having at least one toon with 100% map completion. With my alts I just level them to 80 and then run them to key waypoints that I would use (dungeons, areas for guild missions, etc)
Now the real fun begins for you!! Get in on those fractals, explorable dungeons, PvP etc etc!
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
thank you very much!
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Hey everyone! I have a lot of questions about PvP, and I’m hoping to get a bunch of opinions and answers, since I imagine people play differently. My questions are mostly about what decisions to make in certain scenarios.
I’ve played PvE and WvW for awhile, but PvP is fairly new to me. I really enjoy it, but find the learning curve a little difficult. If it makes any difference at all, I play a power necro (shhh, I know…) but I will also eventually play ele and warrior.
1. When you respawn, how do you decide where you’re going to go? Should you cap the points that are being ignored while everyone’s fighting at mid? Should you run straight back to the fight you died at?
2. If you’re in a fight with several people and you have a teammate who is downed as well as an enemy who is downed, should you stomp the enemy or rez your friend?
3. After you’ve capped a point, how long should you stay before running off to the next thing?
4. Is there ever a good reason to fight off point?
5. How do you decide who to target in a group of enemies? Is there a class you tend to watch out for and target immediately?
6. What is your favourite map, and why?
Thanks in advance!

… I leveled to 80, explored the whole world and did all the dungeons before I realised the faults in the profession from a competitive side. I’m invested in my main….

And, love the theme. Idk, no matter which class I try, I always ALWAYS come back to my beloved Necro!

Hmm, interesting suggestion! Do you think people AFK and plan to come back to get in on a “free” breach? Or do you think people just AFK in general with no other motive? Just curious. It’s probably both, but I have heard people say they stand around waiting for breach instead of defending, which seems silly since you get so much loot doing the events that lead up to breach.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Day_and_night
Here’s your problem: “All zones obeying the day-night cycle are synchronized to the same daily schedule.” Meaning if you’re in a map and it’s day time it will also be day time in all the other maps and therefore the LFG tool can’t help you.
On the plus side this also means you don’t have to sit in LA waiting, you can continue playing in whatever zone you want* and when it changes to night time you can go back to LA.
And since the cycle is 70 minutes of daytime followed by 40 minutes of night if your post is accurate you had, at absolute most, 10 more minutes to wait and then 40 minutes to finish whatever you were doing and get to LA.
Edit: forgot my footnote.
*There are some exceptions, maps where it’s always day or always night. These are listed on the wiki page.Thank you, finally something helpful from someone. Really appreciate it. Too bad I can’t say the same for most of the other responses here.
You didn’t ASK for helpful information, you just came in and complained about the situation.
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
So go run around and do something else and come back? I left the game for some human interaction and a snack and came back – it was night and got in!
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
This was great fun, and took enough effort that I felt accomplished at the end! I have been too lazy to make mawdrey but loved this. I did find sharmaw kind of buggy, I would be running through and just insta-die randomly from no apparent source of damage. I probably had to go through that JP like 20 times to get them. I was definitely frustrated but it paid off in the end! Great fun, ty! And please don’t just sell princess for 10g…

lol not again………
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
Oh god, I’m not usually one to QQ about stuff but honestly the 10 stacks of vuln does REALLY hurt. If I’m in a mob situation where I need to heal bad, almost immediately after popping CC I’m back down to where I was in the first place. Absolute garbage. Like another poster said, i wouldn’t mind a different condi so much but 10 stacks of vuln is just ridiculous. Tested out in fractals, dungeons, WvW, PvP. Not really a big deal in PvE yet, but I don’t play there much.
((helping out non-thinkers since 1989))
I generally just look at a wiki gallery.
