oh my.. haha I didn’t even think about that. That’s quite the slap in the face. lol
This game is getting ridiculous when it comes to farming. They got diminishing return system.. but they also have magic find attribute (which helps botters) and the ingredient list of a legendary weapons is something that you just can’t get without farming a lot. But they don’t wanna make the game grindy… mixed signals? :\
And yes I realize that a legendary weapon is not for everyone.. but diminishing returns kick in waaaay too soon. Can’t stay anywhere more than an hour.. An hour of gameplay is nothing special. I don’t log in to GW2 for 5min … I like playing a few hours or so.
It also does not help that this DR system is invisible. So you never know when you’ve hit DR.

As far as I know deletes are instant.. you just press delete.. and then you have to fill in the name of the character to confirm. so I am not sure what you are talking about. It also doesn’t take 7 days to switch servers.. :P
I saw it too.. that listing fee is first thing i calculated.. I am having a hard time believing this guy is legit.. seriously.. to waste 475g in this game.. wtf :\

If you were on a server that is nearly empty, it gives the impression that the game is dead. It is a very lonely place to be… totally the opposite of what an MMOrpg should feel like.
I am switching servers too, because it is incredibly boring to be in a server where you barely see anyone else, even on weekends. I totally get why he made this post.
I wanna switch servers… because this is just ridiculous.. nobody around in the weekend? forget about weekdays.. that’s even worse.
So anyone have a server with active people on it?

@2: I use smite condition. And I know many others do too. I like the fact that I can remove a condition on command with a damage bonus
@12: The hammer is quite useful, but the problem with all spirit weapons is that the cooldown doesn’t start until the weapon disappears.. So traiting for longer lasting spirit weapons is not as useful as it could have been.
@13: Renewed focus makes you invulnerable, you will not take damage from conditions (for 3sec), I don’t know if it prevents new conditions during those 3 sec, but I would hope so.
I agree on all other points
Go to the mist, the area with the dummies.. test it out for yourself.. Axe skills 1-2 vs Great sword skills 1-2… the difference is very small and keep in mind, when channeling HB you cannot move without cancelling the attack.
It’s not overpowered. You just see higher numbers because of the channeled attack with the Greatsword. But the dummies go down just as fast.
Could someone without lag also take a screenshot? For a comparison.
I have the same issue from time to time.. also chrome.. but no problems on any other website..
Well I have same problem.. had no problems before, and I play since the headstart from pre-order.. I do not think it is my internet, or my computer for that matter.
I have been playing since pre-order start.. And these last few weeks I am getting really annoying lag. Jittering back and forth.. delayed actions….
pls fix

It shouldn’t be like that..
I run with Great sword + Scepter Shield. Whenever things get too rough, I switch to Scepter/Shield. The Immobilize and AoE knockback is great for keeping monsters at a distance or interrupting a very hard hitting skill.
Generally I try to use blinds and dodges to avoid taking damage, using my shield to interrupt is kind of a last resort
Also I use the Aoe knockback whenever someone went down, to give them a little space.
I notice in the numbers above, that you have arround 30% crit rate. With this crit chance, the difference between 93% crit dmg and 65% becomes less significant. Best results are achieved arround 50%~ crit rate.
Other than that, I guess you’ll have to try out the build yourself.. because all this theory crafting can be very deceptive.
Side note: If you stack a lot of toughness, some bosses will stick to you like glue.. which does not help your personal survivability.
Personally, I prefer to equip traits purely based on their usefulness, not for the base stats they improve. So I could go all the way in Valor (Crit dmg/Toughness) and Honor (Vitality/Healing) but stack Power, precision and Crit Dmg on all of my gear. That way I have a pretty good mix. People tend to put the same stats on armor as they do in their traitlines, which is not always the best option imo.

At least it’s a predictable aggro.. sometimes the aggro system is just plain weird.
I agree that no profession should be pigeonholed into 1 specific thing.. like a healer, a tank or dps for that matter. However the trinity is not gone. ArenaNet never claimed that. Instead, there is a new trinity put in place, Control-Support-Damage.. the big difference is, every profession can fill these roles. Granted, some are better at one role than others, but the point is that you can do all three.
At it’s current state however, there are a few issues:
- Some classes do seem to be quite pigeonholed → Guardian = support, etc.. (this might not be ArenaNet’s fault.. but annoying nonetheless)
- Control gets largely ignored in many boss situations.
- Switching roles is not flexible enough, traits should be easier to change out → going to town and back is stupid enough, the cost to reset traits just adds insult to injury.
I’m not asking for a tank or a healer in the party, but it would be nice to be able to get a monster off of my teammate when he’s downed. → this only works with trash, bosses largely ignore cc.
And also, the aggro system seems off. A bit too random, unless they sorted that out? Last time I tested it, my friend did no damage, stood back, while I tried to solo a monster. Yet, it kept chasing my friend who did no harm…. completely ignoring me, while I was doing all the damage from up close :S
Yes, there is room for improvement.. but I prefer dungeons over regular content. Hearts and dynamic events are just too easy.
Personal story is actually rather fun though, because trash = trash. Unlike some dungeon trash, which can get rather tedious → as a result a lot of people skip content. I am not a fan of skipping content, to me it is a sign that something is wrong.
But dungeons in general are enjoyable, imo.
I think dungeons are fun even on repeat.
I don’t die often at all, though. That’s probably why. I imagine that people who die a lot have issues with them.
Well it depends, I don’t mind dying 100 times if I messed up, for example I have a dodge ready and the boss signals a large attack → I should move, I am ok with the boss one-shotting me when I don’t dodge that attack. However, if I die because of an unfair mechanic then the whole dying experience becomes frustrating.
I like the dungeons as they are, but they could use some tweaking here and there.
@Dogblaster: I run about 10 explorable routes per day
God kitten Even if you speedrun them all in half an hour.. Organizing party, moving from dungeon to dungeon and of course the dungeon it self would still take ~5 hours. Every day???? Where do you find the time.. unemployed?

hahaha.. lol it targets an NPC or a pet. I didn’t use this skill yet, but yeh that seems ridiculous.
Scepter is boring to use, compared to the other weapons we have.
Let’s not forget that scepter has a very BORING attack style… While great sword is just a lot more fun spinning arround, leaping with blind, pulling enemies toward you need I go on?
They should not split skills in PvE/PvP.. either both 10sec, or both 5sec.. But honestly, they should look at the purpose of this skills and change it to better serve that purpose.
Right now, it doesn’t really reward you for using it only when your allies have a kittenload of conditions on them, in fact you are better off using it when your allies are healthy → because then you have no downside.
careful with those maths hehe
I didn’t even like this skill before this update. 10sec buffs (or 5sec in pvp now) on a 60 second cd, no thanks… I prefer having less powerful skills with much lower cd.
I don’t think it’s a great idea to split skill effects in pvp/pve…
and what Lilun said (-> see 1st reply) would certainly be an improvement.
In its current form, the skill doesn’t promote helping your team, in fact the opposite. You are better off using it when your team doesn’t have conditions.. bit weird or even selfish

compared to a warrior we have very low base health.. but our health dances up and down. while a warrior’s health just drains.. slowly
We have SO many sources of healing… jesus christ just make sure you have some condition removals in your spec even if it is a passive. To be honest I absolutely love Smite condition. Dealing more damage while removing a conditon -> I’ll take this any day !
And even if all your condition removals are on cd.. we still have plenty sources of regeneration, that outheals a whole bunch of conditions..

Sword+focus, combined with my great sword i have plenty of blinds and some regeneration/blocking + good mobility
It’s a very active playstyle, compared to face tank and healing.

Fun fact: Sword Wave is treated as a Projectile for the purposes of some skills that reflect projectiles. In particular, Earth Elementals who reflect projectiles will make you regret using a sword.
That doesn’t seem right, it’s not considered to be a projectile (not even 20% like some other skills) when it comes to combo fields → projectile finishers.. why would it count as a projectile for reflect :\
but then u could still destroy the bubble early for the healing, right?
it doesn’t help that focus is ugly as kitten .. so that leaves torch.. but sadly focus seems to be the best off-hand.
Warriors have much better shield skills, god I hate the looks of that kitten focus weapon.. what an ugly thing. Sadly, the focus weapon has some good skills
Elementalist are not underpowered, or overpowered. they just have a higher skillcap. THIS is the reason I play an elementalist, I enjoy my warrior too but it lacks the depth of an elementalist.

lieutenant in AC. I love this guy. Personally, I always try to dodge it, rather than just putting up shield block. It’s more exciting A well timed dodge is just so much more rewarding.
I would love to see the difficulty being based more on well timed dodges/reflexes, instead of difficulty based on large health pools and ridiculous skill spam
Although he did pull me through the kitten walls or pillars. That was a bit harsh, because I had no line of sight on him.
I feel the same way on my ranger. Short bow is awesome Long bow is rather lame on a ranger.
when I read the title, I thought “oh no lol”, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the build.
also.. in general.. its hard hitting stationary objects as melee. Have to keep moving or it will miss all attacks, sometimes you even have to stand on top of the bloody thing to be able to hit it. Makes hundred blades useless in those situations.
It doesn’t happen on all stationary objects, but things like burrows…
Can we please get the cooldown on Volley fixed with Crack Shot trait? Over a month and no-one can quickly change one number for us…
