The no overflow has basically killed fotm progression. Only way you can get ahead now is if you have a dedicated guild, judging by the gw2lfg, most of us don’t, and we have to pug.

why is anet so determined to ruin this game?

yes…about half the time i use this skill i just piss myself off for being stupid enough to think it might work. even if there is only one boss in the room, sometimes i’ll just run off into the wall.

i really appreciate the reply, but i’m already a shout warrior, i know the build well.

I was looking for tips on the shaman fight specifically, and what traits/skills players might change from the normal shout warrior to better fight this boss.

have you actually successfully used war banner to try to res a dead party member on this boss specifically? i tried it twice and it never worked. maybe bc he nails the dead with his fire aoe after they go down and my banner can’t compete?

This is by far the hardest fractal once you get into the 20’s. The shaman boss is nearly impossible for pugs. I feel like half my team dies during ele phase. Of the 2 remaining, 1 person kites, another tries to res, but the kiter gets agony and dies before even 1 person can be resed. (we always pop his bubble, then kill eles. killing eles is when people die.)

What skills or traits do you use on the shaman boss for fotm?

I want to support my team better in this tough fight. I feel like staying alive during elemental phase is the best support I can provide for my team. I use healing shouts, but maybe something like signet of stamina would be good for this fight specifically, to dodge the boss a lot? I use balanced stance for the elemental phase. Anything that would be good for resing teammates? I tried warbanner, but it wasn’t doing anything.

Does fear me have a place here? Let me know what works well for you. So sick of wiping to this guy.

In FOTM, the episode with the hammer and the statue. The last boss will put you in a cage and you can hack your way out of it. It worked fine for me plenty of times but last night i hacked away, dropped the bar to nothing and it disappeared, but the cage did not open. Other players tried to hack it from the outside and it still wouldn’t open. it trapped me.

What really sucked about this is i couldn’t loot the chest and get my tokens even though i did the work.

My boyfriend and I, are looking for a guild that is extremely good at speed running dungeons. Meaning everyone is level 80, in full exotics, knows their class, and is experienced in dungeons.

We are not looking for a friendly casual guild. We want hardcore players who like to kick kitten We want an elitist guild that only takes on quality players. We don’t care if you’re friendly or nice, we just want you to not suck! If you aren’t min/maxing your characters we don’t care to play with you.

So I’ve tried a few guilds, and they have promised they do dungeons, but I haven’t had any luck. No scheduled times or regular groups who run. I have to pug from the guild and get worse players than when I pug from in front of dungeons!

Does anyone know of a guild that does dungeons every night of the week and has players that know what they are doing? players that are level 80 with exotic gear and spec specifically for dungeons, know the mechanics, and aren’t wiping every 10 minutes.

Don’t care what server, willing to transfer. I’m in the US, eastern standard time zone. Usually start playing at 8 P.M. when the dungeons reset and play until 11 or midnight.

i got 50 for area completion once. my BF got silk for the same completion though, so it isn’t for sure.

i have a small guild with maybe ten active people. Mostly real life friends or friends of real life friends and then some people we have met online.

i’m so happy with it because it is perfect for doing dungeons together. love my small guild, definitely worth it!

i thought what they said was kind of hard to understand.

i was left asking if that mean if i’ve equipped it once i’m screwed or that i just can’t transmute while it is currently equipped.

I just think they could have worded it better.

i see bots in guilds, non-ranger bots, and solo bots all the time. i wouldn’t say your list is too accurate in those regards.

it kind of depends what you want your roll to be in dungeons and what your party is doing also.

if you want high condition damage with crits go rampager.
if you want to crit a lot and at high damage…go berserker.
if you want to live through it go cleric
if you want something in the middle go knight or carrion. I think toughness>vitality for surviviability, so i wouldn’t recommend valkyrie.

then you can use sigils, runes and gems to further customize gear and weapons into your specs. i’d probably look at thief dungeon builds and see what other people are doing. (i’m not a thief so i can’t help too much with that part). Seems like you would want to go with ranged weapons that do useful conditions like vulnerability. Then see what skills you can train to buff those.

Then it happened in a dungeon and i got kittened out for aggro-ing a mob before we were ready…..

Ok, here is how I finally got it.

I joined my friend’s personal quest. I think it’s level 70 (the fort trinity one obviously)

During the quest I ran in front of the door leading to the POI and I got it! YAY!

Best way to find people to do things with you, even if they don’t need them, but you do……is to join a guild and make some online friends! once you guys have some funny chats for an hour or two, they will all be willing to help you with a little completion.

BL kits definitely aren’t 100%. I’ve only done 9 pieces, but I’ve gotten 3 ectos from 3, 1 ecto from 3, and zero ectos from 3.
Obviously not a large sample but just giving some info.

This is basically my experience also. I use black lion

The only thing I’ve made money on is farming mats, crafting armor and selling rare level 80 gear. Jewel crafting rares require ecto so it isn’t really viable because ecto is better off used in exotics. Basically you need to level tailor, leather worker, or armor smith to 400. Farm the mats, and make level 80 rares to sell. But you’re only going to be making silver, not gold.

like the above posters said, in this game, crafting doesn’t really make you money. But it is nice to be able to make stuff for yourself and guild members.

I figured there were only a few spots for each one. so the map would be like potential places

Once I posted on the forum, I started getting in game spam mail selling gold. I report every one I get. My suggestion would be don’t show our names on the forum posts, show some other name of our choosing, so these spammers can’t get our in game names to spam us.

You could also go to support at the top of this page and submit a ticket there.

I really hope they did change the master tools, what a crappy reward if they didn’t!

Are Black Lion gathering tools the same as orichalcum gathering tools? Or does the Black Lion give some other benefit? (like more likely to find gems in ore or hidden stashes in trees?)

The best way to get leather and cloth is to salvage light and medium armor that you get as loot. Use a fine salvage kit. Heavy armor and weapons will get you ore, if that is what you’re in need of. I totally agree the butter crisis is crap, this is what I’ve been doing to combat it.

It has worked for me in dungeons.

It does happen and it is annoying! I really only use it when I’m right in front of an enemy and I know I won’t go running somewhere stupid. It hits pretty hard.

While it is an awesome move for PVE, I still use all the other moves on the greatsword, and my alt weapon is a rifle. We’re warriors, we should have at least 1 crazy awesome dps move!

I’ve heard it is crap for PVP and WvWvW, so if you play those, I’m sure you’ll see other builds. The guild wars 2 build website has a ton other builds.

After being revived by teammates or by myself, sometimes I come back with what I call “orange suicide glow.” It is an orange glow around me and if I do not kill an enemy in about 15 seconds I die for good. If I do kill an enemy, it goes away. It doesn’t happen everytime, but frequently.

I don’t know what is causing this, if it is the profession, a skill trait i’m using or what. My friend who is a ranger never has had this happen.

Can someone explain it to me and tell me how to prevent it? Does it happen to anyone else?
