Firstly I’m sorry that players have had so hard in pvp this season. Love you all and I wish your luck will hange for the better.
Now onto my topic. I think to prevent this from happening the system needs to have more filters for who Ques with who.
Example filters.
Pips- This should be looked at first to get players of equal rank together.
Pvp rank- although yes this matters very little, it still can be a factor that helps reduce the amount of pve players farming dailies and ruining games for others.
MMR- this would be third so players of similar win to loss ratios would be qued together.
league season progress- 4th factor. What is this? It takes matches from your last league season to determine how well you did compared to others in previous season and how high you climbed the ladder. This one is not very significant compared to others.
And what could be the 5th? There needs to be a system in place “after all of these factors were filtered out” that prevents class stacking. I think even a system that prevents multiple of the same class. Or even multiple past 2 of a single class. This way to keep matches from players stacking what’s best. The limit should also work on premades by not letting them que if multiple players are using one class. And if they are trying to swap classes before the match it should lock the class in the menu if there are too many of them on your team already.
I guess that last one might be over the top but still limiting class stacking helps.
Anyway. Thank you all for reading my post and have a blessed night.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
At least that’s how I saw it since a friend of mine was miserable because he was stuck in the losing end with a 15 loss streak so I qued with him so he would get a different matchup and win some matches.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Wasn’t team MMR, like duo que and such, just supposed to go with the mmr of the highest ranked player?
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Lol I don’t main mesmer and I agree with jak. Mesmer in this meta isn’t good enough to warrant nerfing. Also honestly grab well is better than Moa in my opinion. But yea even when I get moad which is very rarely, I still don’t die from it. Usually I just kite away and use terrain to avoid damage till I am back into the fray.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Didn’t anet say they weren’t gonna allow class stacking at all this time around?
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
@Terrorsquad.4802
For the druid bristleback problem. It’s dealing too much damage because instead of spike barrage hitting 15 times like in the description, it actually is hitting 20 times. Which in turn is giving the attack 25% more damage than its supposed to
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Who is winning currently. I am on my phone without wifi connect right now on a business trip.
Just looking for a update on the matches. Sad I gotta miss out on viewing but works work
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
A class like a wow druid. A shapeshifting class. It’s what I used to love way back when I used to play wow.
I know any post gets hate but I feel everyone deserves to put out their own opinions.
Thank you for your time.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Also I’m using sage on ele is why I say this
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Sage has healing power not toughness. If any changes to that ammy are to be made then they need to benefit ele more since ele is pigeonholed into clerics atm
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Yes thank you. You too
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
True that lol

Idk about that Peepst. Being that games like blade and soul have young character models and it’s not a huge controversy over that game in particular. But anywho. I’ll watch the sheep flock around the first statement on the matter instead of thinking with other games into the perspective. You can think of dozens of games where young get killed if you just look around at other games.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Yea I hear all this about young characters getting killed is unethical and all this but that never stops other games from doing it. kitten I’ve got toons on blade and soul that look young and I never see these getting complained about? Soooo?
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Yes a lot of posts say a lot about character customization already. My only thoughts on this are a age factor. yes you can go adult and older but I just was thinking maybe a younger option. Just for those who like to play younger characters
thanks for your time.

Just linking a bug to the forums that revolves around medic gyro on engi and rebound on ele. attaching a image. and yes that’s a kitten ton of medic gyros lol.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Finally an /age thread that’s not about precursor drop rates!
Holy crap at over 14,000 hours lol.
Well that’s the highest I’ve seen now.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Also I agree that the customization over balance is a big ordeal. But that’s what comes out of free to play games. Cosmetics are a decent bit of money to anet as with all other f2p
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Yea I can see some stuff gets abused but like most abusive bugs “ex the druid leap bug” anet catches them and removes them anyways befor a big patch. Yea it went on for a while before it got around enough for a lot to know about it but was fixed during the season. So it would just be like that anyways. But yea I know other bugs go ignored for forever. But just giving an example. It’s not like exploits aren’t on a first come first serve basis as is is what I’m saying.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Also yes I know changes effect pve and wvw. That’s why I said small balance patches. Smaller ones won’t put the other aspects of the game so far off like larger ones do. And anet can make adjustments accordingly
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
@shirlias
Why so much negativity. Yes anet has made mistakes but they are at least trying to put the game on the right track. These forums being filled with people doubting any idea put out is never good for a game and shows toxicity in the community.
Other than doubting and then leaving, why not put out a idea to keep threads positive and encouraging. Maybe then it would help anet just that much more.
But thanks for the input anyways
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
I see a lot of your points on how the larger balance patch would be ok. But I’m not saying this from a “now” perspective. I’m saying it from a 6 months down the line kinda thing. The overhauls change the meta too much. Yes it’s good to have changes in meta. But the balance is never gonna be equal this way irreguardless of how the patches effect the game. But looking at this from a long ways down the line. The balance would still be bad 6 months from now with and overhaul while with the small monthly patches, each month the game gets closer to equality till it’s just a matter of what class is just a hair better than others and is the flavor of this said month. It’s just better on games in general to have the frequent balancing. A large overhaul can still be done like 2 times a year to give the game new mechanics, amulets, runes, ect. But at least after the overhaul it would only be like a couple months till game is balanced again instead of in like a year for some almost balance
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
@ronpierce
I use a build exactly like this except in place of plague signet I have "you all are weaklings@ I also use runes of grenth and for sigils I use energy and Geomancy on both weaponsets I believe. Even though energy is now nerfed to where idk why I still have it on the weaps XD
I also prefer the curses line over spite. Chill on blind, enfeeble, and more boon corrup just feels better to me than the other. Also debating on trying out parasitic contagion now that Condi damage from boon corrupts feels so ramped up
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
(edited by eyesrutherford.1357)
@silverkey
I completely agree with you on that. But honestly. I know it would effect the pro league stuff but certainly small little things shaved every month shouldn’t effect pro league players too much seeing as the comp itself is supposed to show skill of players who can adapt fast and win matches. Most games do monthly patches and still have high end tournaments because players can take a week and adjust to the patch and be ready for competitions halfway into the month. And if stuff changes on them then they adapt to the changes.
Surely being able to adapt to small little hot fixes should be pretty simple in comparison to adapting to large changes.
Also in my opinion adapting to change on the go is a sign of more skill than the latter. Do you not agree?
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Yea true that. I wish more players would actually post on forums than just read the posts and just move on. I know many were mad about random stuff but anet can’t change anything if they can’t see more opinions than just the few players who usually post in the forums
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Well as title states. For balance I think a small balance patch per month over 1 large every 3 months would be a lot better for this game. I’ll list a couple reasons to back this also
1. A large balance patch every 3 months is just gonna swing something else towards being broke my OP and we will have to deal with said thing longer than with the 1 month version.
2. With the 1 month balance, yes it might be smaller and not give as much for new goodies, but the balance changes would be more significant towards achieving overall balance due to stuff not being such an overhaul. “Example- condis dealing too much damage, so this month the numbers were tweaked a little to decrease” yes this might not work the right way but at least only 1 month till it would be fixed again. Or even "mesmer alacrity ruined the class with the nerf, so anet buffs self alacrity to 50% and keeps shared to 33%
3. Even with the smaller balance patches anet could rotate a class to be at the top teir of pvp and allow anyone and everyone to feel a little Op. “This class could still be beaten by a skilled player but would only have a small edge.” Why do this? Anet still is a Business and needs to make money. How would this make money? Well noob players will still bandwagon to the flavor of the month and waste money on gems and such to deck out this said flavor or add chat slots ect ect.
4. Even with a small balance patch every month anet could still release a overhaul every 6 months-1 year that changes fundamentals of the game. This way anet only has to do a little every month to achieve a more equal level of balance.
In my opinion this would be a good thing because it would achieve the levels of balance most other games have. But these other games also do smaller balance patches monthly to help promote healthier communities.
Yes I know many will disagree with this post as well as many who approve. And my reply to that is.
Everyone’s opinion matters. No one is too little or too much of a “pleb” for their opinions not to be heard. Yea some players will troll but hey at least they are having fun.
Thank you all who read and comment on my post.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
I never said nerf the pets lol. I said bug fix the bristleback. I myself play ranger so I’m not to kittened up about having the extra attacks on bristleback but when players kitten about it, it gets annoying. So I just want that one fixed. And like I said. Idk about smokescale. I myself only hear about bristleback kittening.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Well scrapper gains a lot of its sustain through traits and the combo fields it can generate. But anet nerfed sneak gyro which does help, just doesn’t against all scrappers. Also one bug on bristleback which shoulda been fixed is the amount of hits it’s F2 skill actually hits for. The text says 15 strikes. But it hits for 20-21 maybe more. Didn’t really test but 2 times after update to see if was fixed but wasn’t. Anywho hope the bug gets fixed. Would help. Smokescale idk about though.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Well if they separate alacrity into 2 parts, Self and shared, then it would be a lot easier for the devs to balance as well being that a nerf to alacrity will effect the class a lot. But a nerf to shared alacrity would only effect how well of a role it could fill. He’ll even if they wanted to tone down mesmer itself and not mess with how well of support it could give them they could give minor nerfs to self alacrity. Since they have 2 different categories to work with the balance would be easier as well as move a lot more smoothly.

You surpassed thieves with the Bunker meta you weren’t on par, but you didn’t deserve the huge nerf you got. Bunker Mesmer should still be a viable thing if they actually tried to balance, it fits the amount of utilities you could bring to the table but Anet screwed it up, I love having Mes in Meta they are the most interesting fights when between thieves.
Wasn’t saying bunker Mesmer was on par with thieves. I was saying that before bunker mesmer was a thing and the bunkers started floating in all over the place, that zerker mesmer was finally a decent matchup with thief. Like if either one of them were thrown into the fray in a match and saw the other that the fight could go either way and wasn’t just leaning toward the theif. But I do think that the bunker Mesmer was cancerous and needed shutout as well as im happy that many cancerous amulets were removed.
I still stand by what I think would work best and that’s to separate alacrity into two categories. Shared alacrity and self alacrity. Self could maintain the 66% or even nerf down to 50% for all I’d care and the shared could 33% still. That way mesmer isn’t just a must have yet still could be viable and work decently even as a bunker type build for players who dig that kinda thing
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Yea but maybe if anet sees that enough players care they might help. Theives whine and complain all day every day and they have almost always been in the meta. Us players who love mesmer have had many seasons where we haven’t been in the meta due to theives putting us out if it. Well we were finally about on par with thieves and could be in meta. “Zerker perspective” but then anet nerfs alacrity in this way and completely nerfed almost all the good mesmer builds in the process when the problem was the shared alacrity and not the alacrity the mesmer was giving itself. Mesmer has alrEasy been balanced around alacrity but the other classes hadn’t. That is why mesmer Shoulda maintained the normal amount while the shared coulda been toned down
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
The nerf it got to alacrity many disagree with yet there’s one way that everything coulda been fixed in the first place.
I’ve said it a dozen times now. But the alacrity change obviously is gonna be an issue.
Yet all that woulda needed to be done “without breaking mesmer yet maintaining a nerf to alacrity” would be to nerf alacrity that is shared with teammates down to 33% and keep the alacrity on self at 66%.
Bam. Now all mesmer builds still work but bunker isn’t as effective.
Let’s blow this post up and hopefully get anet to notice.

Ok peeps we are obviously dealing with a troll here. Esp seeing half of the ignorant posts in this thread by said troll. 5 stat amulets just seems like something a god awful player would want that way they can play some more afk/buttonmash wars 2. There is a reason anet doesn’t want amulets with greater than 4 stats. 1 is cause it makes balance harder. 2 some classes can utilize the multiple stats better than others. Ele for example. I love my ele. But do I feel like it needs a tone down? Yea I do. Cele just is too good on this class. Why? Cause the class is built to optimize on the multiple stats. Esp through boons. Too many stats is just a mess to deal with for any dev on the balancing team. Anyways I said my part.
/end thread

I think that this 1 thing might help to put warrior back to where it is viable or at least push warrior in the right direction.
Put healing signet back to the way it was back when everyone was kittening about its OPness.
Why would this help? Well as a warrior have you had those matches where you die just a little too early? At least with the healing signet giving a lot better heals it would be a nice push into the right direction

Only sapphire rank and only pvp’d with a team who I randomly qued with in a match for 2 of the matches cause they wanted to que up together.
So yea rank don’t really matter. Just shows players how much you been playing.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Well most players can easily farm hundreds of matches to get high rank while others don’t really care for leagues. I’m one of those. Only sapphire. I’d prolly have played more if not for the fact that for some reason when leagues started I already had ranked games played. And it had me with a bunch of losses. Which if I had known that the mmr thing woulda benefitted me because of that at the time then I’d prolly have played more. But anyways. You can’t ever trust a players rank and say that that player is better or worse based on how high rank they are. I know for a fact I can beat a lot of higher ranked players yet I know players who haven’t even really done leagues at all who are really really good at pvp.
Basically all the leagues and mmr and what not in this game will always be just a"played" grind.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
blows my mind, still going over so many people’s heads how you are contradicting yourself.
Rank either does equal skill and does matter who your paired with -
or it doesn’t equal skill level and you should be able to be paired with anyone and shouldn’t be blaming any losses on lower ranks when you are paired with them.
I never blame ppl of lower rank being pared with me. In fact, often the players of lower ranks have demonstrated better understanding and profession mastery than their “senior” ranking players that jujst grind the kitten of out the game with a prefab build.
If you are an awesome pvp player but only played a little this season, your rank will be relatively low. Same if you started season late. OTOH, the casual guy with ton of time and the morality of a recycled banker that wanted that back pack will eventually reach legendary if he can win more than he loose overall… He will also get better with time and learn the basic etc. A basic and mastery you had looooong before him…
Agreed with this.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Look at all those top player awards. Lolll. And way to be a good person with the abuse in map chat at end of Match. I find the best players to be more well represented and not soo. Errr boastful? Lol idk.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Well this idea wouldn’t work due to being too exploitable. Players could just start blocking others who they felt weren’t good enough ect ect
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
I like chaos for stability on demand. But lately all I’ve been running is Dom-1-1-3 dueling-1-1-3 and chrono-2-3-2. Using portal decoy and blink with grav well. Sometimes to Change it up I go with this but swap to chrono phantasma and illusionary reversion and take the chaos like to help against cc heavy teams
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Lol so now meta battle is to blame? Haha well ok. I guess. But really meta battle just lists what is being used most in tournaments mainly. I miss the days before meta battle back when “Intothemists.com” was the thing to go to. It was less cancerous than meta battle. Instead of just listing builds that players used in tourneys as “meta”, it would have a build constructor for players and would let anyone submit their builds and players would actually like and comment the builds that work most effectively. That would put the builds that worked most effectively higher up the highest rated list. Which in turn had a lot more viable builds and not just everyone flocking to single builds.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Last time they had “solo Queue” it really wasn’t.
Team queue got such a huge wait time that they started coming to SoloQ and synchronizing their “join” using Teamspeak so they had a good chance of landing on the same side in a match.
of course it works, the term was coined in mmos but it works in other games too, I left a clan in mechwarrioronline for doing that.
People get on teamspeak and do a countdown so they all click the button at the same time. what random arena in gw1 eventually turned into, was failed match starts cause of constant quitters who didn’t like that they didn’t sync with who they were trying or because their team had no healer, so they would just instantly quit. I would go 10 qeues in a row sometimes before a match was actually played. And if someone didn’t quit, the match was so lopsided it was as much of a joke as practice join is in gw2.
I can actually say that this is false. Back about 2 years ago when gw2 still did solo que me and a few friends would do this and only occasionally we would get a couple in the same match together but usually not on same teams so yea this never worked that way. But idk why all are demanding solo que so hard. It was deleted in the first place because players who do premades wanted to be able to get more practice in for tourneys and would kitten to anet about the long que times. So this was their solution. Which most players don’t like due to being casuals but Ehh. Anet has their select people they listen to and there’s not much else anyone can do about it. Just like this comment will be lost in forums.
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
Ew gross. Lol. Still waiting on a 5 bunker mesmer team or a 5 scrapper or ele tempest teams
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
This would help. A lot of the traits and such in this game need a slightly better means of showing how much they actually are helping
~Tamiyo~ ~Lord Mockingbird~
I know players will flame either way you turn about this. But imma just say it. Why, in a game shooting for esports, is class stacking allowed. Yea Ques might be longer if only 1 class type per team but I think at least we wouldn’t have matches that just are annoying as hell. Funny match I had recently actually was 5 druids. They rushed out home first thing and then just held the 2 points they had all match. And when our team would zerg a point to +1 their 2 or 3 then they could sustain easily while they rotated around. Yea this is a l2p issue but the thing is. I yolo que. And my team was all yolo as well. Which they didn’t really seem to have played pvp long being that they were dying in 2v1s. But the other team was a premade. Which yes I know matches will happen to where a person will be at a disadvantage. But there are a good many ways to fix the toxicity In pvp that everyone is facing. 1 being class stacking. Another being class balance.
Which idc really if players dislike my idea of class balance but here is what I think.
I think that anet should release 3v3 arenas. Obviously in this game 5v5 arenas wouldn’t work “courtyard”. And 2v2 wouldn’t work for obvious reasons as well. But at least a 3v3 could help since it would show anet a representation of how set classes in a group work together and what would need toned down or fixed in general. Yes I know players will say “but 3 bunkers” but if you think of it as this (2 dps could kill a bunker with coordinated spikes) and yea you can make counter arguements here and there but I myself think it would help the game a lot.
If people don’t agree it’s ok because everyone is allowed their own opinion.
Thank anyone and everyone for their comments irreguardless of politeness
