Totally out of no reason (tho, yesterday’s update most likely is the source) the south most thermal tube at Promontory Waypoint, the one just above Sulfurous Deep name on map, which leads to Furnace Chamber, places player on landing inside rock textures around small lava pond where the Destroyer boss spawns. It’s impossible to escape from there onto normal map – you can fell down under textures and then waypoint out
It’s a really minor thing but I finally managed to create this topic:
Icon representing bonus speed during sandstorm while wielding any kind of Speed Kite toy (Cystal, Ventari, Prosperity) item doesn’t show in status bar. It’s gone for about half year or more – that happened somewhere among bigger updates
I know you are not going to change the encounters significantly, but I hope you consider at least one change to them: addressing the ‘penalty box’.
Getting kicked out and only being able to wait is not fun at all, but the fights are too hectic to be able to revive anyone during them. I wonder if it’ll be possible to have separate rooms where defeated players are sent instead being sent to the box, and there they can do something to return to the fight.
By all means, that’s how this instance and this fight encounter should work – and the current way it works is why I didn’t bothered finishing HoT story on my other 10 characters; I finished it 3 times and in two encounters I was sent to the punishment box from where I couldn’t do anything but cheer up people who were with me and who were working for me and because of that, I felt awful.
I’d like you to think about adding skin pieces that were available in the Gem Store before Wardrobe feature landed in game and which later were (sadly) turned into clothing-tonics, in form of full outfits – slightly altered or as these are working now.
The main reason would be expanding Fashion Wars and bringing back skins maybe even changed a bit, that’s of course up to you, that people liked but now they can’t use because clothing-tonics doesn’t allow to use weapon skills.
Personally, I’d like to see hoods on our characters with khaki shorts; if I’m not mistaken some NPCs on Ember Bay are already wearing those
I’d appreciate if someone could confirm if 206.127.159.213 server causes crashes on European cluster; I was with my friend in Metrica Province doing daily puzzles and suddenly at the end I’ve got lag that was a sign of server crash – same thing happened to my friend. We both got different ISP so it’s not us definitely.
Moreover, any attempt of entering any map instance on any character being connected by that IP address (not only Metrica) causes same crash
That happens also on revenant
I know it’s REALLY late but I do belive that Trainer’s Terrace within the Village of Shaemoor suffered much of New Player Experience; this philosophy of redesigning starting zones to be yet more friendly and easy to understand for new players, totally annihilated that place. Before the patch that introduced NPE Terrace had: professions NPCs, 2 trading posts and working vendors in nearby Inn – not mention the local stands in front of it selling some food.
Now it’s completely empty beside the passive-decorative NPCs wandering around and two soldiers training on dolls.
That place bothers me all the time because it gives an awful feeling that game is empty, nothing happens around (not mention that the event with catching rabbits eating watermelons is broken and doesn’t spawn that often) and npcs selling basic gear doesn’t exist. This situation doesn’t show GW2 in good light at all – especially when people tend to create Humans as their first race.
Sure, there’s a scout standing near “hospital” building pointing out what new players should do but that area is still quite deserted.
Other races got first renown hearts almost at entrances to their cities while Humans got that really long and empty space between exit from tutorial and first heart on Shaemoor Fields “Help Diah tend her farm”.
My suggestion is to populate Terrace again with NPCs – maybe even moving that scout there, prepare new NPC similar to one in Silverwastes that would explain basic stuff about traits, level rewards and unlocks, bring back tutors that would describe each profession in form of brief dialogue would be really cool (these could land in other zones as well) and most of all, restore vendors at Inn. Anything will be fine as long it will fit the Trainer’s Terrace name.
I’m pretty sure this doesn’t qualify as bug – more as suggestion.
Township of Claypool has this Bank NPC guy who’s standing on square near crafting stations: http://i.imgur.com/F7PvxYk.jpg (I do believe it was added not so long ago) but since Crafting stations grant access to Bank storage its presence nearby doubles the feature.
Sure, it’s easier for new player to get familiar with game features but I would like suggest moving that Bank NPC to proper building nearby: http://i.imgur.com/cUnjGSQ.jpg – either behind the counter or just simply inside building. I’m pretty sure that place was originally designated as Bank – mostly because of obvious signboard hanging over the entrance – but it seems that during very early development that idea was scrapped and Bank NPC was removed or maybe not even used at all since this video here from beta times doesn’t feature Banker inside building nor NPC nearby crafting stations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHzY3qsAdQk (around 1:09)
As in topic, a small change to this place would be really cool and set proper immersion of the in-game world – let’s move Bank NPC to the proper building
Mr. Pennebaker, that is most likely an unpredicted visual glitch that should be fixed because it’s hell annoying – there’s nothing to debate about, just fix it please.
I’m aware that dungeons aren’t exactly devs priority at the moment but there’s something wrong and annoying is happening in AC dungeon since last May update.
Hodgins, Detha and Tzark on each of their paths are running away from player’s party and engage in combat with hostile creatures that player pass by. Sometimes they can run away on very long distances – Hodgins (while searching for scepter parts) was able to escape from Rockfall Hall and reached Hall of Murals, Detha (just before traps) was stuck with gravelings at stairs, Tzark and Grast (after being turned into ghosts) ended up locking progress by stuck fighting with spiders at Votive Cathedral, near Kasha’s Chapel.
In all cases, npc’s were ignoring players location and they didn’t run back to party on superspeed when we reached parts that activates next encounter – they were busy with enemy mobs and we had to clear everything on the way so they could finally join us. That problem occurs in each of AC instance every time and wasn’t tied to runs in 1 day.
As far as I remember that problem did happened once in the past and was quickly fixed. So the question is, how this could return?
Hope that despite of being busy with other game modes you can check what’s going on there.
So, it’s your idea then of this set as “Monetization & Platform Strategist”?
People, people, people.
You have a legitimate question, all of you. But some of you are going off the rails with a really high level of snarkiness, grumpiness, and general unpleasantness.
We got reasons you know. But thanks for clearing this up.
This is allowed behavior; as it was designed to function that way.
I’m spending/wasting my time for running, killing and assisting others while people who just parked and left game idle with one class and probably class build/feature that keeps them without being kicked out are rewarded for my and other’s time aren’t considering as botting and abusing but as game feature? What the hell?!
If this is a “game feature” then release official api that will allow people to build bots.
This is the weirdest and unfair statement I ever encountered in GW2.
I’m also having troubles with Telia servers on same ISP since last patch. Game is barely playable – I have autoloot mastery active but yet, I need to get world boss chest loot by myself.
Estreiher.6359, you may want try any mobile network connection – Orange’s neostrada is faulty but their Orange Go works fine in my case.
I’m having same troubles – lags, rubber banding, ping going over 1k and more; I’m being constantly connected by some kittenty server on land-line connection while mobile one works perfectly and stable. How that can be?
We’re investigating whether to fix or revert DBL. They’re both a lot of work. These next couple days will be your last chance to give feedback before we make a decision, so speak now or forever hold your peace.
I do wonder if you could put DBL and ABL on half year rotation; roll ABL now as they used to be before HoT was released (sure you got some backup), tweak it to work with HoT and move people to work over DBL.
I know it’s easy to say from player perspective but it would be a real waste of time and work of these guys if DBL would be just simply thrown away.
That problem seems to affect not only the character location but also Inventory; I was salvaging loot in DR I’ve got from pvp chests and I did deposit stuff that pop – then, network error happened, game kicked me out to character screens and when I log in again – I landed at DR’s Queensdale entrance with loot again in my Inventory.
I wonder why this happens like every second patch. One would think they would work on in after it happens 1 or 2 times…
I wonder why we couldn’t get small patches streamed during loading zones and bigger by p2p network.
The 32bit client will download at max speed, the 64 bit hasn’t been updated i guess so we’ll have to go back to waiting til they catch up.
Same here, x64 client chokes with 1kb/s while x32 downloads everything in a blink.
I just noticed that during regular home instance gathering for daily, Enchanted Treasure Chest has spawned oht of no reason in Black Citadel’s Hero’s Canton home instance for my human guardian and I didn’t even finished my collection (because drop of most wanted exotics is below any acceptance to put it mildly).
It’s still here after relog and only in Hero’s Canton – no other home instance got it.
Beside the crashing problem that I’ve described few post back, there’s another problem:
Some world bosses in Central Tyria aren’t giving event notification in siderbar with health bar progress.
I’m getting constant crashes since expansion release no matter what I would do in game; opening UI elements – activating object (crash upon opening MF panel), opening TP, running across map, participating in events (which is also annoying because I’m losing progress in VB specifically)
I did verify game files, I did also launch game with repair switch; hell, I even changed drivers that were working perfectly for about year and nothing has changed – game still crashes.
The most prominent sign that game is about to blow up is the blue-green grid of blurred textures on npcs, player character or objects in environment http://i.imgur.com/HEHq3oN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4XwKAmq.jpg
I had no problems during all beta tests I was participating in – everything went broken after expansion roll on October 23th and I’m darn sure that problem lies on your side anet.
Crash logs since 23th to 25th http://pastebin.com/ySgdvfgR
Please, look up and try to resolve my and others similar problems – cause as you may noticed there are people who are reporting these as well.
Communications Team Lead forgot to provide additional time for EU gamers. Thank you.
Of course we can do that by ourselves but yeah…
People were expecting event similar to Scarlet Invasions and I think that’s what you should take as formula for current event – despite of fact that we got Silverwastes for farming materials, bags etc., and despite of the rewards that can be obtained and which were unique once or available in gemstore (honestly I didn’t expected return of Selfless/Thoughtless potions and from what I remember these were promised to be unique and never again obtainable – sure, there’s still barrier of 450 tokens and 10 gold but it feels like you didn’t played fair with us with these – I spent many days getting Heirlooms and now people can get these potions within 3 days of farming? Meh…).
We want to feel like we’re rewarded for killing all these mobs and participating – such event could also encouraging and engaging for new players if there would be some experience reward…
For sure Blooms drop need to be increased, encounters should activate more often – to cut Waypointing costs because for now it’s another money sink. People on reddit were suggesting that in current form event doesn’t promote cooperation between players but sick grinding since you can tag mobs in one group and fly for next one. Also, consider extending whole event for few days more once you finally revoke the way how it works.
So I tried gathering stuff with new rare tier Item Booster and whenever I’m touching any node – plants, metals or trees upon finishing or on additional hit I’m getting visual swap weapons effect with sound but weapons stays same.
I’ve listed few exotic inscriptions, people bought these and I’m not getting gold in return – I should get already about 20g but balance to pick up from npc hasn’t changed :/
There’s a suggestion on GW2 subreddit for adding a more informative icon for dungeons item merchant in LA because current one looks like ordinary vendor – adding dungeons gate with sword/helmet or coins stack in bottom corner would be really really helpful for players.
Same goes for mentioned FotM entrance – I had hard time looking for gates after introduction of new rebuild LA. Prior rebuild entrance got standard asura gates icon, before Scarlet attack, there was standard dungeon icon.
I would also add that some karma merchants across Tyria are using a very small barely visible rhombus icon - they could get either the standard Karma triangle icon or coins with little triangle in the bottom right – just like the renown hearts got
Another thing is that Hero Points in many cases are barely visible with that gold-brass colouring and in my opinion giving these back old Skill Point blue colour (maybe a bit more vivid) will improve noticing these on both map view modes.
Of course these are QoL suggestions but should be IMO reconsidered and rolled in game somewhere in future.
That’s the one of most requested features – which was present in GW1: you could load-save-share your build with special code. And I would add this along with similar option for wardrobe – with optional separate saving dyes schemes. Because making a print screen of picked dyes scheme is really annoying.
Question is, if such feature could be easily implemented… And I believe it is since current game is using same engine and chat codes.
I just log into game on guardian parked in Lion’s Arch at Consortium near Junior Brand Manager and pick the daily chest and immediately jumped to Wayfarer Foothills for Frozen Maw which is the daily boss (at least for me). My timer site was saying that event is just roughly 3 minutes behind the schedule and I knew that there’s still a chance I’ll get map where it may still going on and it did. So I parked at spawn, map was showing that Brogun is about to move from his spawn to Frusenfell Creek so I went to the kitchen for tea and some snack which took me less than minute and when I arrived, npc was in half way and game just crashed – players were running in all directions and game was screaming about network error without code – at least I didn’t noticed any. After pressing OK button game restarted itself, I’ve logged in knowing there’s still high chance that I’ll land in same copy of the map but no. Game throw me into Lion’s Arch, at Gendarran Fields entrance. I’ve jumped to Vendrake’s Homestead Waypoint but I was assigned to different map where event was already done.
So why that happened? Is it because event was already done and game wrongly interpret my standing as afking for much longer? Or there was a map/server crash? But if so, why I was placed in LA and not in WF?
If you could as well later check HoM Calculator page: it seems it doesn’t well work under Gecko engine – only on WebKit and forks
Today I wanted to set Magic Find Bonfire on Dry Top for everyone but sadly, before activation I’ve used standalone MF booster and this action blocked me from picking MF in Bonfire so I was able only to chose between XP or Karma.
Already worn booster shouldn’t affect ability of setting up a Bonfire and I’m pretty sure there’s a possibility of detection if character got ongoing booster.
It’s not of course an urgent issue but really annoying one because it happened to me few times.
I wonder about chances for adding Ogre Wars to the World Boss schedule when everything will be fixed
Help someone is trying to hack my acc !!

(snip) continue to make the wallet larger and larger.
I’ll paste my reddit post:
There’s nothing wrong with going by second option and making Wallet bigger; it could be slightly redesigned by adding flippable pages/panels like in any other game’s GUI or tree similar to one that we can see in Hero’s Equipment panel. Currencies could be categorized by type:
- main section for gold and gems
- activity rewards (laurels, perhaps also karma and guild commendations),
- competitive mode tokens (badges of honor and any additional one in future)
- dungeon tokens (regular one and fractals)
- regional tokens
- temporary festival currency
- additional services that could cover transmutation charges, yesterday’s ideas about makeover changes that could be turned into another kind of charges or joined with transmutation ones into single type to avoid player confusion™
Perhaps there could be a place for BL scraps or full tickets but this doesn’t sound like these should be turned into another currency type
I have a little knowledge how this system works but I just want to say that after 4k hours played on this account, the most valuable items I’ve got were: Carcharias from Claws/Jormag about year ago and Decorative Molten Jetpack from Legendary Red Static Assault Knight during Battle for Lion’s Arch. And since then, nothing. My friend in contrary, got 2 Dusks within month from as she said, WvW runs.
You can probably guess how I feel about that so I’ll welcome any system that will please and reward players more gratefully with love because honesty, I feel it should be changed or at least reworked.
Does Guesting works after introducing megaserver system? I was trying to reach Underworld from Desolation but it didn’t worked. Is it now an obsolete feature?
I am pretty sure they were talking about server independent guild influence during the April’s feature pack p/review
I am also missing these bonuses because my home server is different and tbh, I was expecting that such feature is already implemented within megaserver system. Hope this will change quickly and any influence that we get while playing on different server than guild was created on will be accumulated into one cross-server one.
While I’m happy that we will finally get rid of Overflows, I’m concerned about group of players that doesn’t use English or neither any of supported languages (German, French, Spanish). Will they be kicked – despite the all statements about merging, into some low populated copies of map?
They probably tested whole Megaserver system for players cap but I’m not sure how this will work with languages.
