if something in a program is not tested its safer to assume its broken,since we can not test this,there is a good chance its broken.
possible bugs maybe:
1.) “Player leaks”,like a memory leak the player is not always removed from the map cap. like on disconnet(like the players in grp who disc are shown a realy long time on a random place on the wvw map),this may only affect some borderland if there are script on the other ones running fixing this.
2.) “Map Que leaks”,same again for the map que,if 59 players are on a map(60cap),1 new gets a popup to join,he has to be added to the cap until he leaves the que without joining(else the other pops would go over the cap).(what happends to afk players who are in the que all day? since if you do not join they auto re-que,does this afk que eat a lot wvw slots?),or if players have a disc in the que/popup and are not removed,this may only affect some borderland if there are scipte on the other ones running fixing this or due different map caps(dynamic).
3.) “Caped Cap” loop which counts the players on a map uses the map cap and stops counting if it reaches the cap.(possible with “safe” script functions)
4.) “Que overload” 55 players on map(60cap),5 new gets a popup without being added to cap and the party of these players get popup too(party que)→80players on map(20over cap)
5.) “Overall Map cap” lets assume there is a dynamic map cap map starts at 30/30/30(max limit for map 150),gets raised to 60,60,60→red gets 60,→blue gets 60, since green is the last in the list they get no new players since the 150overall cap is not changed,this bug may only happen in 1 borderland due script bug for the ovrall cap.

even if the “map counter” is the same for all 3 on one wvw map “1”,“2” and “3” would still make a big difference in “real” players on a map.
suggestion:
/wvwinfo chat command(wvw only) shows:
XX Active Players on Map(log based,kill or wvw event in the last 30min)
XX other players(afk,bug etc)
(no names etc,only a overview with the numbers)

skill lag kicks in now on eternal if 2 maxed zergs(2 worlds hit each other)

Possible way to get more ppl on the maps and get rid of skill lag:
Multi-Server running the WvW maps(overflow servers could be used for this)

The Server Cluster used Lan the exange data.
The Servers running the same WvW map run on the same data set.
Each Server handles only a limited count on Players(ca 150?)
Each server uses Lan to exange Calculated Player data(Sync Point)

Each server must only handle fixed(maxed) Player amount of calculation and gets the other calculated Player data via fast LAN. it would only use extra servers if they are realy needed(like overflow) or even better 1 server could handle 3-4 zones with a few ppl.

ServerInBoxThread()
->ReciveData for active Maps on this Server from other Servers
->ReciveRawData from players

ServerMainThread()
->SyncPoint -> Copy RecivedData(pointer switch)
->Calculate RawData from players on this server(got the other calculated player data from other server)
->Sends Calculate RawData to other servers who need it(fast via lan)
->Sends the players the needed data

so there will be a little delay for player vs player from other server(1sim frame min),but since the servers are able to exange data fast it should be not a prob. Even possible to dynamic cluster players who interact a lot on the same server

happened today after patch in wvw(at door power stacking),was at 2 Initiative reggt to 3 then it droped without skill use to 2 again and regt to 3 again,something was taking 1 Initiative away(happend ~ 5times,after death ok again),seems like ~30% less Initiative reg.
maybe cause i was underwater a few min ago with Infiltrator’s Signet underwater and not on land in qbar and the Initiative from it got negative.

someone else probs with Initiative drain without skill use ?

Ascended WvW gear with slots(new type) where infusions(+ar) do not fit,but only wvw infusions(like +rc or +5% speed out of combat etc) would be nice as mirror to pve fractal gear

the catas defending a door seems always like a bug(like all aoe hitting other side of door)
kinda like the fix.
maybe if the underdog buff would give +dmg vs sieges would help lower pop realms

Edit: shooting stones at your own door to “defend” it seems like a bad idea anyway,no one would try it for real ^^

the current/new culling is horrible and random even in small fights(10vs10)
party members/commanders are culled every few secs randomly(following the zerg)
even the current target gets culled all the time…

since its not a “fixed/static/constant” map player limit possible imbalance:
wvw server map performence very good(20vs20vs20) caps @ 120vs120vs120
→ 100 from world1 join,40 from world2,30 from world3(120vs60vs50)
→ but now the performance drops(sm fight etc) and the map player limit is lowered to 80
→so world1 has 40 “bonus” players over the map cap(80vs80vs80cap but 120vs60vs50 on the map)

Second possible map player limit imbalance:
if a player logs off/disco/ports of the map in some cases he is not removed from the player count for the limit(player count leak).

AoE 5 Dmg Cap and bad hit chances for few ppl

ok to make it more simple:

25ppl VS 25ppl+25AFK ppl ->should be a 50% chance for both sides since 25ppl will do nothing but stand there,but due the AoE cap the AFK ppl will bring the win.(the 25afk ppl are in perma stealth)

The 5target cap for AoE dmg is a big disadvantage for smaller zergs.

25zerg vs 50zerg,the small zerg can only hit 10% of the bigger zerg with AoE,the bigger zerg can hit 20% with AoE. So they do not only have more dmg/life etc from the ppl they have also the have a much bigger chance to kill enemys fast with AoE.

Removing the cap or make it dynamic would fix this(like area caps so the 25ppl can hit 10,the 50ppl can hit 5,so both can hit 20%)

All phantasms now utterly broken.

~0.2-0.5sec delay,1.8-4k dmg (prev Nov 14th)
~1.5-2sec delay,0-2.2k dmg (now+a lot less dmg from not spawning/dieing phantas)

easy fix would be:
summon works every time,iZerker spawns @ mesmer -> teleports to old spawn pos(stucks @ walls etc like all teleports) -> fires whirlwind attack(4 virtual shots from pos1 to pos2 for dmg calc). if they would spawn with the buffs the delay would not be needed.

Edit: 4 virtual shots → 1 shot collision test(with width ~ the whirlwind size) + 4 times dmg calc,blind could be transfered from mesmer to the spawned illu

~1.5-2sec delay on “Phantasmal Berserker” so he is dead a lot times with 0 dmg(even with no skilled buffs same delay),dmg more random now,overall dps of GS droped even vs 1 npc
Edit: yes 0 dmg since retaliation buff does not work so fast(Chieftain Utahein test)

no Cluster Bomb,no Smoke Screen,with only up to 10ppl+ near the rc point no culling

you could see his “de-stealth” effect(black transparent rings) -> stealth again(no effect like Blinding Powder etc),sometimes Shadow Refuge(but this was instant under big aoe fire)

is there a way to get the player name from chat log ?

since i think this one is a cheat,but since you are not able to see more then 1sec its kinda hard to report. 8+ players trying to cap wvw resource point,1 enemy tief perma stealth holds the point. without leaving the circle(full of aoe spamming enemy’s) he managed to perma stealth ~5+ min.how to report such a chase ?

Edit: main point is not if this is a cheat,but how to report someone you can not see and where to report it?

easy fix for the not spawning illusion would be:

run the same test the game uses for teleport(mesmer,ele skill),use the so gegerated pos to spawn the illusion.
no more illus in places they should not be but the mesmer gets still his illusion every time he uses the skill.

for GS the overall dmg dropt a big time(33-40% less dmg)+a lot less burst
berserker has now a little delay so vs 2 nps he can be killed without even doing dmg

btw the current:
WHILE (in trigger) → IF (boon not up) THAN buff boon(~0.5sec check,no stacking)
cost a lot more server performance than a:
IF NOT (first enter trigger) THAN early exit ELSE buff boon(stacks)
(a lot less checks and only a in trigger list is needed,does not remove entry on exit or only with a timer)

skill aoe buffs stack
ground target buffs(like staff) do not stack and only apply when the buff is not up(to avoid infinity stacks)

easy fix would be to only apply buff on first enter ground targets but than stack(event: “trigger on first enter”)

“1) Fielded Population limits:”
does not work,if 120vs120vs120 → a lot ppl log off 120 vs 20 vs 30. so 100 ppl from 1 world do not get in but are in the map(kicking 100ppl is not ok too)

“4) People can’t damage doors:”
kinda lame,seen it in warhammer,the zerg will stay complete out of range,a small team rams,few range sieges,does not change a thing exept a lot ppl have nothing to do but wait.

there is no “BIG aggro” in the game(or else npc would never hit clones(~6dmg per hit)or turrets all the time)(low hp = “BIG aggro”)

Warriors GS Throw Bolas?Frenzy?Endure Pain?Rush?Hundred Blades 13-20k dmg in 2sec(4sec witout Frenzy)

Thief Sword+Pistol -> Steal->Haste->Pistol Whip->Pistol Whip 15k-20k dmg in 3sec

Warriors Shout cleric Aoe 4.8k heal on 20sec(Fury: 8 s + 3xMight: 25 s+clense aoe),2.4k heal on 25sec

Are we weak compared to other Mele classes? Hell Yes.

guardian plays still well(cleric),but only GS does not.

(but the motivation to play guardian is very low,something like “what will they take nxt ???fear”)
Edit: Btw i see a lot more warrior now(GS Throw Bolas→Frenzy→Endure Pain→Rush→Hundred Blades 60sec warriors)

Guardian Greatsword kinda lost its point with the change,its the only GS without a Cripple. The new leap cd does not help much.

Doing dmg with a condition build is kinda hard(luck) since there are a lot clenses out there. a lot of em auto proc(Combo Field: Light) or are aoe (Purging Flames,Cleansing Flame) or complete auto(1-2 cons all 10sec,signit or trait)

on a condition build our are not able to time your attacks the dots run over time
normal dmg gets blocked/eveaded as counter
condition dmg gets blocked/eveaded and clensed

Suggetstion:
Bleeding gets only 1 Bleeding removed and not the whole stack

Condition dmg VS Heailing roll on clense(Bleeding,Burning)
(Condition Damage-Healing)/17 =%chance not to clense(Bleeding,Burning)

(Poison is a little different due the healing debuff,so i let it out. If clense fails on a dot,it trys other conditions)
Edit: and remove auto clense on down state

happend to a friend(Oct 9 in WvW),~2h no problems then in the middel of a keep raid everyone gone invisible for him(exept me,guild+grp member)
relog fixed it for him(full game restart)

My retaliation uptime(on everone near me) went up from ~50% -> 75%+(since i do not use GS anymore,but more finishers)
Edit: it is not my aim to get more retaliation,but it procs all the time now.

re-bind does not help with 2 weapon sets(or if you use mouse to activate skills)
GS for support is not possible anymore(heal from symbols)
i do not use GS anymore(cleric armor,cleric GS….)
so for support it is hammer time

“Symbol of Wrath” was bad from the beginning vs moving targets since it roots the guardian ~0.5-1sec with the animation

now its even bad in static fights

Retaliation is more on offensive boon.
Stability,Aegis,Protection would be to strong “defensive” boons.
so Vigor(not so good) and Might would be on option in exchange for Retaliation.
(or change Retaliation to do % of the dmg taken(scaled by power),in this chase Retaliation would do more uniform dmg)

Combo field: Ethereal in “Symbol of Wrath” now,but still with wirl finisher ->Cleansing Bolts
must be a bug

my point 2,replace retaliation with something else and old cd(or cut retaliation dmg by 50%)

Edit: easy fix for retaliation,you get only dmg all 0.5sec(or 1sec,rest is clipped)

since capping a lot with a big zerg is one of the most effective ways to farm in wvw atm
the zerging side keeps getting more ppl,while the other sides keep losing em
in the night this gets even worse,so most of the server rating points come from nightraids

PossibleFix:
A. Rewards are scaled
-empty towers/keeps give low reward → long big fights give amazing rewards
-with only few enemys on map very low reward → with lots of em,lots of reward
B. Tower/Keep Scaling
-siege weapons scale with world ratio on map
-on big underdog npcs will spawn to defend keep,rep door,use cannons etc(they only use what players would use,but due the lack of brain they have more hp,do more dmg)
C. Relics
-relics atm buff only the strongest sides,change bonus to only exp/karma/money bonus

So they current trend to join the biggest zerg would be broken,in order to get more rewards the map with the lowest population from your world will be best(there where wour world needs you the most;)). Even beeing on a low pop world can bee a big advantage. So if ppl trend to get to the lowest spot(in pop) they will distribute more equal(like water^^)

Reward Scaling and receiving:
Since the events scale very poor atm and you miss a lot lootbags in a active fight:
-no more loot drops from players/guards etc
-no more event rewards
-all players have stat tracking show in the wvw window(kills/captures/repairs etc in the last hour)
-every 15min(when the world gets points) you get rewards based on your performance(scaled by map avg ratio like written above)
-the rewards can be claimed like items you get in trading post(only in wvw window here),so you go to the wvw tap and claim your karma/exp/money/drops for your char there(here you will get the removed loot from players/guards etc)

WvW should give the most fun/rewards with lots of enemys

after todays first patch found nearly all nodes on the new spots
after the second mini patch over 50% of the nodes are empty for me(other player are able to see/use em),waited 6+ so maybe they repawn,no respawn so far

a lot ppl seem to have the problem not being able to find/see a lot crafting nodes on the 80maps

condition damage would be ok in wvw if the dots would not be dispelled so easy by light fields,there are so many aoe con removes most dots tick only 1-2 times til they get removed.

Easy fix:
Burning,Bleeding,Confusion,Poison gain remove protection by condition damage.(0% @ 0con → 90% @ 1400con dmg)

The real problem here is invisible enemies. Give their algorithms time to match servers properly.

on big wvw fights even grp members getting culled(invivible)
and even your current target getting culled(invivible,no stealth)

i do not care if i see ppl from my world,but my grp and my current target are a no go to be culled.

option in menu: “Show all enemys in basic skin”(1 skin per class,fast drawing)
option in menu: “Show all other in basic skin”(same,only player sees his real armor+weapons)
option in menu: “Show only effects from me/my grp”(only red enemy aoe rings stay)(improves Bandwidth and perfocmance)

(if zerg gets so big basic skin does not help,switch to LOD level of basic skin)

cull other friendly NPC, than friendly players
so if all pets/klones/illus,all npc,all other friendly players are gone this would be the only time to clip enemy players and never clip grp members.

atm its real hard to play wvw with 2-3 friends on the same map
and if one has a disconnect it ruins the day(1-3h+ to get all on the same map primetime aka after work),so it would be nice if you can re-join after a disc(since you waited sometimes hours to get there)
