Sign Cutting StoryLine is bugged. Stops marking the map part way through.
Same people, same struggles, same tactics for nine weeks. Well as a consistant wvw person its always. Yes though it gets boring and I burn out. Most of this just due to the people you fight doesn’t change much so it’s the same things constantly.
Coverage Issues
- Right now fights are ultimately based off who has more numbers and coverage.
- If you have even coverage and rule during that time your work can easily be nulled during your servers off time making it feel pointless.
Solution
When maps have even fights scale ppt worth higher. When maps have uneven coverage scale ppt worth less. The reason I feel this works is because it still rewards work but scales the worth depending on how much effort was needed. So if server A has a map que and server b and c have no one on they had little resistance and just took whatever they want which should weigh as high as taking it with every server map qued. This also would allow servers during their prime times ability to make up for lack of coverage during off times.
An absolutely abysmal idea. Why should I be punished simply because no one on your server is in WvW? This is a horrible idea that only punishes players and minimizes their efforts because of a problem on another server. I can not think of a worse way to handle this.
It wasn’t necessarily meant to punish it was to allow for servers have a fighting chance. I have seen on multiple servers that overnight 1 server owns literally everything making it completely impossible to catch them. I was thinking more of instead of scaling anything down more giving bonus points when things have to be worked hard for. So to reward the effort higher when effort is needed compared to a complete shut out that took no effort at all.
Spreading People Out
- Servers have a natural imbalance due to player base
Solution
Post player coverage stats publicly for wvw for each server. Although I know we have the forums it can be very “buying loyalty”. I think giving the stats would allow for guilds to figure out where they could be more of use if looking to move.I do not play on my server for coverage. I play on it because my friends have been here with me since release. This is a bad idea. All it will do is further encourage band wagoners to try to transfer, by showing them in hard print whee the better off servers are.
I do get the bandwagon fear. I was more thinking for strict wvw guilds that look for a home to fit into. Those people want fights and want to make an impact which sitting in que doesn’t do.
If you haven’t been reading these forums, Anet does not support this game mode!!!
If I saw anyone give suggestions rather than complain I would agree. This game mode however I believe is one of the most complex systems to balance. It is hard to Figure out rewards for like defending that can’t be exploited. Because this is a combination of different things it isn’t as cut and dry as we all feel it is.
Solution- Don’t buy Gems…
That would say I don’t support anet which I do these were possible solutions for issues because I think just complaining gets us nowhere without suggestions to fix.
Issues that I think I have solutions for…
- Lords vs zergs
- Coverage issues
- Spreading people out
Lord vs Zergs
- When fighting a lord with many people when you do damage you sometimes do not get credit due to them dropping in health fast.
- When having a zerg go after your lord it melts so fast there isn’t enough time to get there to defend (sometimes).
Solution - Have lords scale like most world bosses do. This allows for ample time for people to defend and gives those there a chance to do enough damage to get credit.

It’s probably not as cut and dry as you guys are making it sound. They are having to figure out a balance if making ascended items worth getting for an engineer but also not buffing it so much there is no point as well meaning without an ascended you get ascended power cause that wouldn’t be fair as well to others and their rng luck or time crafting. Chances are they tried something and it was too much and in the side of there’s no point in getting an ascended cause using a kit was a free one so then they nerfed it and are probably looking for a resolution.
Before the update, the 80 or so transmutation stones meant that I could easily maintain my low level characters’ appearance. But since I am down to 45 charges now, I am reluctant to spend them on my alts. I mean, I have a level 34, a level 42 and a level 62 character. I would probably need a lot of charges to avoid looking like humpty dumpty while leveling these characters, especially since the change in traits means it’s more important to have up to date gear while leveling up.
Sure, it’s more convenient if you have only level 80 characters since you don’t need to spend cash on transmutation crystals anymore.
I’ll have to play a bit and see how easy/difficult is to get the charges.
You still get charges the same way you used to. When zone completing you get 1 charge and when doing story and other you still have a chance to get a random one charge like we used to get. The plus sides to this for me is I used to be able to be crazy with changes to my characters from 1-79 because I had tons of low level crystals but then at high level I had to basically pick carefully and them never change it due to not getting many. The change allows me a way to know I can get a guaranteed charge for any level and instead of going crazy work at my look while leveling but having to make choices and by the time I hit 80 already having a look I love. Before I would do that probably more careless than I needed and would hope by the end I had enough high level charges to actually get the look I wanted since the others were useless then.
Before when I pvp’d on a low level I got gear now I use mine. Am I at a disadvantage now? If not it’s not clear. If there is a spot for the gear that is also not clear. The window for pvp traits feels off being small and hard to navigate due to the size of it. I like the sigils and runes and the way to set them up.
Reward system is great only suggestion would be have it show all by default at first I only thought there were 3 until I browsed and found more. If only going to show 3 I suggest priority on the ones that expire or at least adding a clear show more button at the bottom or a help tip showing where more can be found.
Overall though loving the patch it’s definitely made my alcoholic a.d.d. self happy!
Thanks for the posts and updates (yay search feature lol) I will just hold onto mine in the bank and hope April 15th patch will replace it when they do a big check on our items already for skins
So I have been doing wvw almost exclusively. I appreciate these achievements for credit for being there but in almost 2 days I have yet to get credit for most caps. Normally this wouldn’t bother me because I enjoy wvw and do it for the challenge but this season’s achievements basically say I have done no effort! While my fellow zerger’s are 11111111111 their way to victory and I work my kitten off.
You NEED to fix the credit count on things for conditions . All of these lovely changes coming in the patch don’t matter if the game still doesn’t give two hoots we are there.

Probably should post this in Bugs area
Stable numbers… I worded it wrong. Fixed it while you were posting lol.
For me numerical stability is completely different concept that you bring up here but if by stable numbers you mean that the lowest and highest possible damage numbers you can inflict while criting will be closer to each others then you’re correct but keep in mind that it will still be the same if you take proportions or percentages instead of absolute values.
Correct but then when you add in the changes to sigils and such that do random %5 and such are being buffed to %50 this increases more of the numbers and buffs available at a given time evening out this “nerf” everyone is raging about. The issue is everyones just pulling 1 part out and yelling about balance of an entire game.
They are both percentage base chances. Precision is how often you may do it while Critical Chance is the chance for a higher number. It’s actually not as stable as people think thats why even if you watch people who play zerkers on youtube they get excited when they see a big number. Ferocity is just going to make it a more stable chance but lower it.
How will ferocity make it more a stable chance?
Stable numbers… I worded it wrong. Fixed it while you were posting lol.
ok… I am relatively new to the zerker spec, as I have run other builds (for a number of reasons) and I am still learning the mechanics.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but Precision gives you more of a chance of a crit. This means that on every hit, you have a _% chance of making a “critical hit” correct?
Critical damage, on the other hand, is __% more damage you do as a percentage of your “regular damage.” right?
So, with the changes in ferocity/crit dmg, my chance of a crit isn’t changed, but the damage I will do when I crit will be decreased ____% depending on how my ferocity adds up?
As I said, I am still learning the zerker build and I just want to make sure my assumptions are correct before I start assembling the stuff for my baby zerker.
Thanks in advance, folks!

I am prety sure everyone complaining about condition damage are refering to PvE, so let’s focus.
In PvE conditions are weak, they can work sure, but except in some very custom tailored events, conditions are always inferior to sheer berserkerness.
I apologize I wasn’t clear but Briz nailed it on the head. I am speaking for PvE. sPVP and WvW is just fine. Condi hurts other players really well where it seems to me, it takes forever to kill something compared to base crit/power in PvE.
It depends on the condition damage you do. Some condition based builds are viable in PvE while others depend on movement and when faced with a standing still npc it becomes useless. With the other part of it condi based builds require a build up for effectiveness by reducing the burst damage of others will allow you to get to a point where you actually see it rather than it got zerked down before your stuff could really hit. So the changes to zerker while in a party do actually have an effect on making condi better.
Here’s the issue with the math your stats come from many different places. Since traits, gear, buffs, sigils are all changing you can not possibly do the math as you don’t have the numbers.
Being that ferocity is going to be a point base stat that translates to a percentage and also includes the base crit that is already there by standard. Figuring out what you want your ferocity to be at will be easier. Now also take in the changes to sigils and runes and their procs being more reliable and less random you effectively will be able to get your precision based build to be more stable and still have the power you want for your build. I would really take time to look at all the changes as a whole rather than just one certain area. The individual areas may not look align but you have to really consider everything in game that makes your overall stats.
Base Stats, Traits, Gear, Buffs
Until we see every tool tip, and number in game we can’t really say they messed up. I personally think it will add out just right.
You guys have skills! I’ve seen it! Now anets letting you show it.
A lot of choices in this game were replaced with just zerker, burning it down, killing it (whatever you want to call it). This doesn’t make for a game that is skill based. You can call it a nerf or whatever you’d like to but honestly it has to be done. The alternates to this solution aren’t good. They did the best they could to make choices viable while still keeping the stat itself powerful.
Right now when your faced with a lot of questions there is one response ultimately…
*How do I do this dungeon? Stand in this corner and just burn it down
*Should I rez this guy or kill the mob? just burn it down
*How do I kill this player? just burn it down
Just buff other stats!
In theory this sounds simple but… If you do this you also need to boost the mobs so that people aren’t just 1 shotting everything. Which makes mobs and other players needing to have insane health pools just to keep things interesting so we aren’t 1 shotting everything. Sure that sounds easy but it can get out of control pretty quickly resulting in mobs, bosses, and people with insane health pools especially when you take into consideration level cap increases eventually.
What about my ascended gear!
Your ascended gear still will be 10% more damage than exotic gear. If you focus on just your gear getting nerfed reduced. Just remember every item in game is getting reduced so your hard work was still valid as you will still be doing more damage.
I need my zerkers! It does more damage!
This is true and will still be true. It will still do the most damage in game.
There were other ways! This was the easy way to do it.
Anet basically said they were aware of it being out of balance for a while. No this doesn’t mean that they just did nothing about it. This means they were trying to figure out the best way to do it. So this wasn’t an easy way out by any means and I think we as players need to give them more credit.
TL2DR:
Look at the bigger picture it’s changing all around the board. So stop making it sound like you personally had your gear nerfed. Everyone will still be on the same page. Build diversity is what makes this game better than most. Having a “meta” defeats that.
Thanks for the info
One other bit of advice: don’t tell them you are reporting them.
That will likely make them mad at which point they will troll you until you say something you shouldn’t say and then they will report YOU!
If you see someone saying something inappropriate, just report them and then ignore them.
And by ignore actually use the feature as far as I know when queuing you won’t get matched with pal you have ignored but even if you are well you won’t see them and the way I see it if you talk like that you’ll never say anything I care to hear.
ugh is it? Is there a way to remove screens?
and so basically, nothing will happen. gtk i guess, although annoying. dont see the point in a report for verbal abuse if no action is taken.
**edit: I deleted them but they’re still showing for me when I refresh. hope they get deleted soon.
The person you reported will most likely get a temporary suspension. You won’t be told what happens though.
Just remember that the forums are not for reporting people (hence why the use of their names in the post or in screen shots is against the rules). The in game report feature is the proper way to do it.
People get temp banned. Just because the guy can flaunt nothings happened just means no one’s probably ever actually reported him.
So I was exploring Lions Arch to see what changed and headed to the Vista with the jumping puzzle. My character disappeared in the ground and I realized the ground wasn’t against its bottom layer. You can’t fall through but it’s definitely not right
I spot low lever gear before I spot an up level buff that actually requires clicking or tabbing. What always confused me the most is why everyone can see a buff on me I don’t even see. I’m torn on if I like it or not…
On one hand it’s another aspect to the game. I am downed tab quick and scan for one and hope to rally maybe even targeting it so my friends help out. When I play an up level I use it to kite people to where I want them so they die by others using the “must kill them” mentality against them.
On the other hand if it’s not supposed to be a mechanic do we really need just one more thing on our screens? It does give away you are one but as I said so does gear.
TL;DR and my advice
There are many ways to tell besides just that. When you bring one in expect to die a lot and if half of a Zerg rally’s off of you be prepared that people will be annoyed. Learn to use your disadvantage to your advantage. The key to WvW is just like real war… Get into your enemies head and use their patterns and behaviors that become predictable to your advantage.
Also just an FYI a full glass thief with the right Crits can 2 shot almost anyone it’s not just up levels. They are also just playing their role which is to pick off the weaker back liners which ultimately weakens an entire group. If a thief isn’t annoying you they are doing it wrong.

We all know it’s too late but lets do it anyway! Get your server on the lion and post your screens!! #Savethelion
Here is Ehmry Bay’s
Now that the event has been delayed to the middle of the night EU time, we could do with knowing something. I know it might spoil some elements of what ANet have planned, but it matters.
The key thing is, the event, is it going to be like the Karka invasion? Like something which happens, and then is over and done with? As it’s now been put at an inhospitable time for us Euro players, we kinda need to know whether we should consider staying up to the early hours, or just see what has happened tomorrow. Will we lose out by doing this?
Someone asked on twitter if they’d miss anything if they couldn’t come on till later and were told no.
I personally liked how they did it but I think it could have been even shorter. Like quicker glimpses.

I don’t plan to step foot into LA during the entire next LS.
I will probably go through LA to see what they’ve done after the LS has cleared out.
I have gone back through Kessex a few times on my alts, only to do the personal story for exp. Skipped the entire zone because it’s ugly now, I hate the LS and what it has done to the game and Kessex is a glaring reminder of that.
So probably LA will be a zone I will also forfeit in this game.
Like I’ve said elsewhere, I am obviously not one of ANet’s intended customers for this game anymore.
ANet has made it abundantly clear, that unlike other developers who understand that customers help shape the game after release, ANet has retained full ownership of this game, and will do whatever they want, however they see fit.
Including nothing lasts forever.
Let’s hope that phrase does not come back to haunt them regarding customer income.
In the meantime, there will be customers who enjoy destruction. And those that are hoping something better replaces what is currently in LA.
I wish enjoyment for all who are looking forward to this next patch.
This is exactly why they should do these things. If it ruined an area you thought was beautiful and you now have to avoid it that means they are making you feel things. So at a later time when efforts possibly come out to fix an area your going to be even more excited. Things should have impact having a world untouched makes for this huge war around you with the same destruction over and over that somehow seems to avoid certain areas.
As a commercial artist there is more to consider than just does it look pretty. On top of that your opinion has some to do with it but you will always have to make changes you don’t agree with because your boss or the person who hired you wants them.
As far as with the game design itself they have those Lupicus is a perfect example of this because you don’t watch anything but his arm for when to dodge. Most chaotic fights though if your waiting for a visual animation to show you what will happen it would need to be an overly dramatic and unrealistic approach. The game already has an option to turn aoe circles off and all bosses do have visual indicators but seriously if your standing around enjoying them your dead so the aoe indicators won’t bother you just aim up.
My partner is color blind and is constantly frustrated that he has to look for visual notes to move in a see of player aoe’s, legendary effects, and just general casting that I love the new change as it’s improved his game play and he can enjoy the game more. Last note after time of playing no one actually stares at the floor they are just things you spot and move.
its 10 silver per 100 so at 500 it will be 50s which really isn’t that much. I like that people have to make a decision or pay to not make a decision.
This is thoughtful, convenient and a really interesting idea.
One question though if this were to be implemented: would the alt characters get experience for commission crafting? (I’d say yeah… Maybe a bit less if anything, I don’t know)
I’d say no only because then that gives you a reason to go on your character if you want xp. If you just want an item makes it easy kind of making it they are already “Masters” at what they do which is why you come to them.
Most of us have alts and most of these alts have crafting. I do not think it’s an issue to log in and out to craft what I need but think I may have a more interesting approach to it. Since Lions Arch is a trading area you could make a building an instance. Upon entering the building you would be in an area where your alts are there near crafting stations. You then can walk over to your alts and basically place orders for what you want either by using what is in your Collections or inventory.
I believe this idea would be a fun and interesting way to crafting with alts and would also work in an RP and non-RP world. The instanced area would also give a unique idea to what your characters do when you aren’t around. Something no other game has really approached before from what I’ve seen.
But isn’t the dude that takes the donation a sort of conman?
The one is we dont know about the robot… but that is what I mean there wasnt any follow through for us to know things like there usually is
Something I’ve learned in GW2 is that in order to find interesting things I am to explore or follow through with characters. I did just that and followed the Dolyak into Divinity’s Reach and first of all was a bit shocked the robot wasn’t even there. Then I followed the Dolyak and he went a bit into the city turned around and went back to the portal.
Some of the most memorable moments of GW2 are moments like the kids pretending to be Destinys Edge during a quest. I realize this isn’t needed or anything but I figure we have an orphanage in town could we have it end with the kids getting gifts or at least a child having some kind okittennowledgement that a Dolyak full of gifts just passed through town.
I might have a crazy thought process by why not make butter a crafted material? Where it just takes milk and water to create it. This way the milk can drop from things that make sense like cows and such and then no one has to see a butter drop again.
Option to "Turn off experience gain" for gathering/crafting, etc.

As the old saying goes “Age is just a number” applies as well for leveling in my opinion. Although I don’t see any harm in this feature I do personally think it would mess up your experience a bit. The xp received in the game was balanced to include crafting and gathering and I think you would find yourself never high enough level if you didn’t have that.
Luckily with the sidekick system even if you gain extra levels your brought down to a more challenging level when you continue to progress (for example you hit 20 then go to a 17/18 heart).
I am on Ehmry Bay and having the same issue you can see “Burrison the Blue” speaking in chat panel but he is no where to be found.
