So there are several back-items that have been added into the Living Story. Some have to be purchased/made, but some are earned just by completing achievements. It’s specifically this that I’m hoping some light can be shed on. I have unfortunately re-skinned my Sclerite Karka Shell. At the time, this was the the only exotic or above back item obtainable with Healing Power, so naturally as other back items became available, I have replaced the look on more than one occasion (but I think only twice, which is why I’m really hoping to have an answer!).
As this is one tied to an achievement, I have proof on my account that I had previously earned this item and maybe other items that I will see is missing from my Wardrobe. For this reason, I am wondering if I can request the skin being re-issued to my account so that I can put it into the Wardrobe for my characters after the patch release and how I might contact the correct people to be able to do this for me.

I actually used to run this trait and I know it was working fine at one point (it didn’t heal or revive me quicker) but it did heal my allies. It may have been altered about half a year ago with the change to the trait (used to drop flamethrowers and elixir guns as well, they removed that to increase the downed damage we deal).
I’ve gotten this Boss Fractal at least 5 times, and never have I received a +1 infusion, I am getting one from Mai Trin (Aetherblade) and Maw still, but not the Molten boss fight. Considering it’s the hardest boss fight (only one you can get 2x agony stacks and insta-downed) it should be awarding 1 or more +1 infusions.
The Packed Antitoxin is not being consumed when I have Toxic Pollen. It is otherwise curing the other conditions as stated and then consumed, but leaves Toxic Pollen on the player. The regeneration does not reflect the Toxic Pollen either (as intended because it’s not removing Toxic Pollen)
I’m noticing this as well, the Toolbelt F1 does work for allies, but not the heal skill. Tested on an engineer.
This would be nice, since I’m often alt tabbed working on something when queueing up, just checking back from time to time. I was thinking about the need for a sound (at least) to occur or maybe even, if possible, a way to bring the game to the front setting.
For me the new TA path is fun and gives 2g, I’m quiet alright with that. Other dungeon paths do need to be balanced around the average run times though, but a minimum of 1g for each path would be nice.
I’d also like to know if we can achieve the World 1 achievements from April. Between all of the Flame and Frost SAB came out of now where, and while I did manage to play some of it near the end, I missed out on at least ~90% of them.
I’m in the same situation with my Dolyak, I’m ~3000 rank points from Wolf and I love the baby dolyaks streaming forward.
It seems like a reworked version of that mini game from one of the beta weekends, only now we have a bow.
Reddit is sparked this question multiple times, so I hope I can catch your attention while this section is still quiet. The Fall of Abaddon mentioned in Evon’s campaign promises is a bit ambiguous for fans of GW1. We would like to know if it’s his fall against the other 5 gods or revisiting the fall that our characters witnessed as we fought him at the end of Nightfall?
Thank you
I tried both rune sets (7/6) on my Engineer with both healing turret and med kit and neither of their heals were noticed in heal text or from my health pool. This was in PvE, generally in dungeons where I looked for the affect on allies and it had no effect on them either.
Should go to the back of the ship, you’ll find an interesting dialogue :P
Agreed, I plan to go back and listen in full later today, but there is a Zephyrite woman talking to a group of Zephyrite children on the airship about their history and such, and Glint is mentioned by name! I’ll have to check the full context, but I’d be willing to be their song is about her.
I thought it was lovely for ArenaNet to hide relatively subtle lore hints for us
I created a transcript the teacher and her student’s conversations, as well as Braham’s new one. I think there’s a connection between them both.

Hi, primarily PvE player here… didn’t they also take away your way to get Gems from tournaments? I can’t get enough of the PvE content that they release, but one of the reasons I don’t sPvP anymore is because there’s nothing for me, heh. I like sPvP from time to time, I even made it to rank 28 and slowly want to make my way up so I can /rank with cooler drops, but I completely agree, they just aren’t releasing sPvP at the same rate. New maps seem to be the easiest for them, but I think there’s enough of them now and they do need to focus on something else. They’re past their target release maps, which is great considering the game launched with half of their target, lol.
Devil’s Advocate time: sPvP requires careful balance, they can’t just throw new content out for the masses or they’re more likely to get whiplash from the issues in it. They’re trying to stick to the game mode that takes more teamwork, but I think they said they’re working on new ones.
Why even make this thread, What would they nerf? This is just as easy an any other dungeon they just added stuff in to slow it way down. Its incredibly boring, not difficult.
I have not read other threads but I seriously hope that people are not complaining that this is to hard already, I grabbed 4 random pugs and rolled threw this with ease about 20 minutes ago.
Rumor in-game was that they disabled the dungeon to fix bugs/broken stuff and nerf it so thought I’d make the thread. I find the difficulty to be perfect for a bad group it’ll probably be a bit easy with a competent group. Sadly my first time through ha the former.
When getting pulled through the laser walls by the golem, you don’t take any damage. I hope this is what ANet fixing. Because it’s making this part of the dungeon too easy.
Uhh… wait.. let me remind ANET of the last time they pulled something like this… remember the tower from the mad king event? …. yeah this is worst than that.. that jumping game, although hard, is pretty fun.. but geez this one is kittening hard and annoying..
You’re joking right? This is no where near as difficult as the mad king jump puzzle. Is it challenging? Yes, but it’s really not difficult to work with the mechanic to make it challenging but really fun. More fun than any mechanic. Do not ruin this kind of content by saying it’s too easy when it’s just a matter of looking at your game and playing it.
Definitely need more content dungeons like this, real solid use of Guild Wars 2’s engine.
There is nothing difficult about it if you actually consider what each phase requires. The part with Frizz is a matter of moving, the part with Horrik is a matter of dodging. Please don’t nerf it give people a few days to figure it out if they’re struggling. My friend and I found 3 pugs and they had a horrific time, but because the two of us understood what was going on they started getting better and we pushed our way through it.
Instead of requiring the monthly WvW to be killing only other server players, can it please include any capturable point NPCs that are deep inside a capture point, such as Tower Lords. If it extends to all enemy server NPCs, the amount could increase, so that solo players could kill the guards stationed along pathways or small groups taking camps and getting them w/o actual player interaction can complete the monthly.
Right now, as I understand it, the best way to achieve the achievement is to just run around as a zerg pack. That’s great and all, but it’s really nice and on paper sounds unhealthy for the way WvW should work. Split running small teams to take out supplies, etc. Those entering WvW means just more for a zerg pack and a generally inaccurate representation of what WvW is and should be.
Cheers,
konvay
Was it ever said anywhere that we wouldn’t be able to get any more stuffing/glue/cogs/frames more than the once per dungeon? I finally got around to running Tixx after he made it to LA, having been able to complete the first 5 days and I only just now find out I can’t get another frame? So this makes it impossible for me to craft everlasting tonics of the toys I turned into minis?
Is this just a bug that I didn’t get another golem frame (used the first for a everlasting golem tonic)? That and I also don’t receive any more stuffing or glue to craft a 3rd mini of the frames I still have.
I would like to see this given out as a reward from the Bell Choir Ensemble event to those that score 600 (that’s the max for 100%ing, right?) I didn’t find it that hard. It could be obtainable in other ways, but I’d like to see it, in true Arenanet style, available to those that want to pay and those that want to achieve it through proficiency.
Did you “Deposit All Collectibles”? They’re included, use an invisible bag if you want to keep them on you.
You’ll probably be scaled up to 80, as it’s a holiday event/special event in general.
Ah, I see. Kind of like in WvW. I’m still pretty new to this game, having just started early in December, so there’s a lot of things I’m still trying to figure out. Thank you very much.
Precisely like in WvW They did that for some of the Halloween content, for the recently released map and fractal dungeon.
You’ll probably be scaled up to 80, as it’s a holiday event/special event in general.
I’d like to see a couple things return from GW1, not mechanics wise, but map wise. I’d like to have seen it be a 4v4 and have the map be a lot smaller, as when one person has the gift and they’re already closer to their base than any enemy member, it’s basically a free score. Going through 7 players when not playing a scout is nearly impossible. Camping their base goes well, but with only support having a good knockdown, the enemy’ll probably still make it to score.
Bought an item from the BLTC and haven’t received my mail yet.
Fun and immersion.
Mostly the immersion and living world world thing. To see something like the statue of Lion’s Arch get repaired because halloween would be a little bit disappointing to me, wouldn’t make me dislike Anet or anything, but it would still be a nice way to remember the effects of past events.
You asked for an explanation as to why this is balanced, the following are examples of how the steal is balanced.
45sec CD
%chance of the fear ability from the necromancer table of steal-able abilitiesI believe this is balanced, especially for dungeons like AC. please note that steal is single target. Thieves specialise in single target and therefore because we can rarely attack with AoE we need to have ‘something’ to keep us alive from multiple enemies.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skull_Fear 45s Recharge, 3s Duration [AoE]
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Reaper%27s_Mark 40s Recharge, 1s Duration [AoE]
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Doom 20s Recharge, 1s Duration [Single Target]
Yes I’m aware it requires stealing from them, but it’s not hard to find the necromancer and always steal from them and then the team fight completely topples from there because of the 3+s enemy team CC.
Necro fears are essentially interrupts, and the Theif fear is a good, hard CC.
Steal is not lackluster when it shadowsteps you to your target and can crit for 5-6k with Mug.
I’d love to see more viable fears on the Necro. You don’t have to get all defensive, I don’t think he’s calling for a nerf to Steal fears, just a little more Necro love, as the longest fear they have (AFAIK) is 1s ( untraited ).
EDIT: You probably should have posted this on the Necro forums. Calling out Thieves isn’t going to get you anywhere in voicing your concern.
I’m aware that I could have posted it in the necro section, however the skill is derived by thieves. Necromancer’s have a 2s fear, single target, and only in downed state. You are right that the other fears are used as an interrupt, not necessarily bad for it’s use. However their is a problem that should be noticed with thief damage and having a 3s AoE fear that is, I believe, affected by condition duration.
Yes necromancer’s get a second health bar, the generation in PvP is very low and stealth is far more effective than just taking another few hits (the health bar drains itself, not just by taking damage, is it lowered).
Title.
Thieves can fear for longer than any necro fear van manage with deathshroud or staff. It’s also AoE (like staff’s Reaper’s Mark). Three seconds is an extremely long fear duration on it’s own, paired with thieves high damage it let’s them and their team do a lot.
An explanation as to why this is balanced would be great!
I think it would be amazing to have NPCs reconstruct the lion’s statue over a month or two. It doesn’t even have to be real-time or anything. Every patch day could make minor advancements toward the statue and surrounding area being put back together and have construction gratings and such around it and engineer NPCs that just have one line quotes.
Have the water attraction be messed up so that it shoots the line of water incorrect and other minor details to show that it was once destroyed.
If you find this thread, please continue it on Crimsony’s thread because it is definitely more fleshed out as to good reasons why we could use a upgrade ToT inventory bag!
Thank you.
Please let us upgrade the size through the mystic forge, it would make the bag useful at max level, or let it have halloween items be deposited it into it like the special bags that can be crafted!
Screenshot of the black lion chest halloween update in the gem store please, as I still see the one that’s been there for about 3 weeks (or more) that looks nothing too halloweeny.
EDIT: GW2 trolled me, I see the image now…
The changes to paid tournaments is kinda funny, considering we never had them in live :P I think they were only available for one beta (BWE2?) which wasn’t really stable.
Great to hear they’re going up, they were higher in beta and seemed really low since launch ~
Thank you!
EDIT: Just remembered the blog article had numbers, I suppose we were aware of them
Are the borderland sanctum puzzles fixed?
Oh ya, wanted to add: yes, we’re watching Mesmers, bunker Guardians and tank heal Ele’s. Forgot to add that.
Noooooo, you could have forgotten to say that. In your team’s opinion, what is wrong with the tank heal ele? It really doesn’t do much damage, it just survives, but not as well as the guardian it seems. I assume most issue with the mesmer is shatter effects (damage included) and the ability to carry the repair kit through portal :P?)
Appreciate the update, I’m sure many are saying “this could have been done months ago”, I don’t disagree with them (as I think I’ve stated in another thread) but you’ve explained all this elsewhere, it’s good to see this info on the official forums now!
Thanks again.
Blog post is still coming, just has been pushed out about a week, it is written and sitting in locs hands!
We found some major issues with the tournament backbone we’ve spent the last couple of weeks focused on making sure it’s 100% right before we start expanding any other functionality. We’d hate to for example start doing say…tournaments with more meaning, and suddenly have you not get rewarded, not matched up properly, etc.
We’ve almost got all that stuff ironed out, soon as we do we’ll follow up with blog posts about our plan for PvP/E-sports in the coming months.
Thanks for your patience folks and sorry for the misquote on timing. we were under the impression that stuff would get up earlier and wanted to wait until we were 100% sure we knew how it’d work after addressing the issues we found before talking about it.
Thanks everyone! Once new features start turning on, you should see them, and our E-sports support growing on a pretty rapid basis. Our goal is to be faster than the timelines of other major recent esports games like LoL after they launched in the rate at which we roll out competitive features and make sure we’ve got all the major pieces needed for long term success up and running. We know it’s very important to you, and it’s very important to us to grow and build that competitive gaming community.
Best,
Colin
We all greatly appreciate this information, to tell us so much about what’s going on in the company to your playerbase really strengthens our commitment and trust in you. I don’t want to come off ungrateful in any way, but could this not have been told to us a week or more back :P? It would have probably prevented a lot of threads being made, a lot of hate being passed back and fourth, as well.
Thank you, Colin.
Happens at night, as have all the other patches… it’s 10/1 pacific, it’ll be 10/2 for most of us.
My thought on this was very similar.
While there aren’t enemies there, don’t generate anything, while there are enemies within a zone, slightly larger than normal sized capture points (looking at you graveyard) you generate points while on the actual point.
1 point every 10s for the first 30s, then 1 point every 8s for the next 15s, then finally 1 point every 5s. If you are kicked off of the point or the enemy leaves the extended zone area, the points stop and the point timer resets to 1 point every 10s when it goes back into contested.
—————————————————-
I really hope something like this gets implemented, otherwise it will leave a lot of people behind in rank/glory when the current meta is to keep points in your control (which is how you win).
Please keep us updated!
the reason why i posted this in pvp section is because all the cry for nerfs is in pvp not pve.
heard about preferences? right…that couldn’t be why could it?
nerf whatever you want with it in pvp just keep pve skills the same and its all good everyones happy.
Ah, that makes sense! I agree with comments on everyone wants a guardian PvE because they’re the essential (not really) Paladin profession, Anet would not nerf them because of this mentality, so I don’t think there is need for worry there. Nerfing them in PvP… I could only imagine if they do nerf them it would be their spirit weapons (some more) and possible tanky nature, but they really aren’t that difficult to take down via condition damage or a good gank. imo
Why would building around epidemic be good in a 5v5 non-zerg fest? jw.
Because you can hardly generate money in sPvP, all items are account bound.
ive won over 100 games with guardian and from my point of view they are not overpowered there. however i don’t care if they get banned in pvp as long as the pve skills stay the same.
8v8 hot join or 5v5 tournament?
Sheathing your weapon will stop your auto attack, or just simply ctrl + right click it to disable the auto cast feature.
Sounds like you’re afraid of them nerfing guardian’s use in PvP and it affecting them in PvE. I think this thread should either be in PvE or more likely the Guardian forum. I haven’t played a Guardian in either mode and yes they’re solid in PvP (die to condition damage pretty fast).
Would you mind explaining their status in PvE and what you feel is too strong or too weak, maybe they could nerf aspects of them and buff other aspects to keep them the same in PvE but that reduce their annoying factors in a PvP match.
I think it’s:
Top: Thief, Guardian, Mesmer, Ranger(?)
Mid: Elementalist, Engineer, Engineer, Necromancer Ranger (?)
Bot: Warrior
Almost everyone that streams competitive tPvP says Warrior doesn’t bring anything to the table any better than any other professions, meaning they’re completely lacking.
Thief and Mesmer bring the heavy burst with at least two solid skill builds, and guardian bunker can be impressively solid.
Ranger lies somewhere in between, some people complain about utilities, most complain about power short bow + quickness. Then there’s the spirit and condition builds.
Engineer has a bunker and condition build that is really solid, and their downed state is complained about a lot. Necromancer definitely has its place, but many teams say it almost needs to be built around. Elementalist also brings damage, can go heavy support (allowing some point holding) but downed state is mediocre.
Stopped reading here honestly.
when you include this sentence in one of your posts this is what you are really telling other people:
“i’m close minded and ignore people who have opinions different then my own. i am an irrational personal who is not worth talking to.”
I completely disagree, I’m sure many people have stopped at the same point but didn’t say it. Instead of being closed minded, he’s being completely open spoken that there isn’t a problem here except on your end. Ranger utilities sound the most broken when they are paired with a trait (I’m mostly referring to spirits and signets). I think the OP should go into more detail on these to provide reasoning that we can compare and determine if they are in fact problems or not.
I have no problems with thief, mesmer, and engineer downed skills. That being said, I also have no problem with elementalist downed skills, and I play one.
