That’s what invisible inventory bags are for. Put a mini in it, and deposit-all-collectibles doesn’t return your mini to the bank.
That would instead “disable” the feature to merge and view all bags as one, which still would count as choosing between a mini or sane inventory management (atleast for me, YMMV)
yeah, my post was triggered by me wanting that new lion cub, but then dismissing it because i know i will accidentally send it to the bank and then forget about it.
So yeah, fix this and the time spent will make it self back tenfold when we buy the pets we want!
Minis are used by none, because if you want to use one, you are effectivly turning off the “deposit all collectables” function, and even with the pretty new minis this function is to important to skip on.
Please don’t force us to chose between sane inventory management and displaying a mini.

i for one LOVE the new dailies, and I couldn’t care less about others having ascended gear for free or whatever.

Why not use it more if you want to use it more? i do none of those things you mention and find DS very useful.
At least my server has quite a large population of new accounts since chrismas, lowbie zones are full and many are brand new.
Is it appropriate to have a vanity holiday item that rare? I can understand that level of rarity for something that is a core part of the game, but why do that to a vanity item that can only be found for about two weeks out of the year?
Yes, we dont want essential items to be rare, because that would force every one to grind for them. For cosmetics and fun stuff its fine. If you really want it you could bought it of the TP.
ok after 500MB it was 1%, at 750MB it was 40%. doesnt make any sense.
I started the client after removing the “application data” entry for gw in library, which solved the problem with the non-starting.
Now it wants to download files, its currently at 0% with 500mb downloaded which means the end size is at least 50GB, why do i need such a large patch..?
The point is that most of this negativity only happens in forums.
Whenever I feel like there’s something I’m not satisfied with the game, my first tendency is also to complain or rage in the forums (rather than stop playing, ironically).
But considerably, the population in-game just seems to be like a completely different population from the people lingering around here.
Yeah, you dont go to a protest march to poll public opinion, those that are happy with the state of being will not be there.
its similar, but not exactly the same. its just lazy dungeon design all 5 of the events are going to seem very very similar

The UI can be scaled to “normal”, “big”, “smaller” etc. with a drop down in the options menu.
What selecting “smaller” does is scaling the UI elements to a smaller size, this works as intended for all the normal UI components.
For the Trading Post, which is a embedded web view, it doesn’t work as it applies the scaling to the rendered view which makes the fonts look really bad and unreadable.
This happens because the GPU interpolation scaling works across the whole texture and it does not distinguish that each glyph must be scaled individually to be readable.
To fix this either skip the scaling for embedded web views at all, or tell the web view to render the content in a scaled size instead of manually scaling the result, It knows how to scale text well.

Your problem sounds like that you don’t find the dungeon fun, why not do something else and let people catch up? If you like the dungeon, run it at lower difficulties to help them catching up.
I never spend more then a few minutes to find a fractal group, the trick is to ask for a range of levels, try “looking for fractal between 10 and 20” and you get a group in no time.

haha i just thought targeting in this game was horribly broken and was designed to switch around at random.
And FYI, making the developer team responsible for UI interactions is to ask for stupid stuff like this, please get someone that understand interaction to decide upon these matters.
A big problem with buying gear for karma right now is that the Preview doesn’t work as we all know, and as so many karma weapons being broken visually its quite the lotto to buy a weapon, if there isn’t time to fix the visual appearance of the weapons maybe add a buy-back function to the karma merchants so we can give the bugly stuff back
The effect for this axe is supposed to be a glowing triangle along the edge of the blade, what actually happens is that this triangle is not rotated with the camera matrix, the result is that this triangle always face the camera, like a bill board.
Right now there is some frustration when selling items on TP, as people can create bids that the game wont let me fill as its under vendor price, i get an annoying popup telling me the offer is invalid due to being less then the vendor price, Why is this check not made when making offers instead? that way we dont clutter the TP with invalid offers and you can actually sell everyting on your list.
We dont know yet as the new tier arent really in game yet, so we dont know how it will be implemented, Anyone telling you otherwise is speculating.
So far we have a back piece thats quite the grind to get, but there are rare ones that are dirt easy to get so we arent missing out any real stat bonuses. And a ring that so far seem to come from daily quest in the Fractal. the ring has 3-5 statspoints (and at lv80 you have 2-3k in those stats) above exotic rings so its not game breaking diffrences.
In the future they will add more Ascended gear wich will be available through a varity of activities like Dungeons and WvW

Do you run the dungeon with the only reason to get the ring, which we dont even know for sure if/where it drops? if so i would wait until its confirmed how you get it.
You could do the event several times by jumping into overflows that hadnt completed it yet, the chest was bound to you so could not loot twice anyway.
I did it about four times and had a blast all the way. no precursors though but i didnt have one before the event either.
I think they should make precursors 100% drop rate for a week so everyone has a chance to log in and get one.
It was a bit tedious at parts but all in all it was a fun evening with some epic moments!
I feel sorry for those that lagged our or got d/c, but there was no achievment or other reward you cannot get easily elsewhere, i didnt get one of the expensive exotics but who cares, i didnt have one before the event either.
3 computers here, 2 real and 1 laptop.
The two stationary computers never dropped under 40fps, no lag, d/c nothing.
The laptop had 5fps and got d/c three times, didnt see mobs spawning, couldnt use skills.
Yes, there might be a chance our computers are to crap to play large gatherings, is that news to us?
So we put on a epic QQ-fest for a month that pre-cursors was to expensive and with the economy where only gold buyers can afford the precursors, ANet then put in a precursor-bailout to try to fix the problem, and now we are upset it wasnt 100% guaranteed precursor.. because you know, if the neigbour kid got nicer presents then you it instantly makes your stuff worthless.
Didnt we got a new zone? thats pretty changed from not having a zone there
are you SURE you are pressing F and not clicking the chest? also you need to wait for the cast bar to finish which might be hard to see, my guildie got kicked out but could still open it.
Whats the point in demanding things they already confirmed as incoming ?
The event-chain at the new zone was very confusing, should have been some kind of climax at the end, now we just arrived at camp karka and that was it.

hm, in asura jumping we could all bandage if we fell down as we landed on the starter plattforms

JFYI that is/was a graveyard-thread where the mods merged all discussions in, both pro and against, and not a single thread.
Even if they are just stat bonuses…bottom line this is a STATISTICAL ADVANTAGE for all areas of the game that is ONLY available in one area. So people who grind dungeons have a STATISTICAL ADVANTAGE in WvW, even though dungeons have nothing to do with WvW. Yes I know they plan on adding ascended gear to WvW, but we have absolutely no timeline (and no real clear indication of what kind of priority that is…from the sound of it, it’s low priority…it’s a “we’ll get to it”).
Its valid if you asume armour arrives before WvW accuire, which i dont think it will. If you can get the armour via WvW from day 1, would you still dislike it?

You should have plenty of fine transmute stones if you have 100% some later level maps.
we dont know yet, there can be pvp-penalties to infusions, or there could come new upgrade-slot items that offset the stat changes,
The OP didn’t ask a question about whether it is worthy to grind Ascended gear for WvW.
They said ascended-gear will be available through WvW, so if we include doing WvW in the griding the statement stops making sense.
Thing is, I don’t suppose something that can aid users in enjoying the game like this can be monetized, so it probably isn’t important. It seems the content locusts are priority because they whine quite a lot and it appears ANet think they have money to spend in the shop.
Hm, what about pay up some gems and you can give your dungeon-group a name and maybe a fancy banner of sorts? i would pay for that.
make sure you havent made any custom settings in the ATI panel (if those exists, i had similar problems on an nvidia-card after making a custom AA-setting)
I see quite some potential that this tears the playerbase appart, making it nearly impossible to find a party after a while if this is the first time you ever entered the fractals.
Why? Because the rewards will be smaller if you do the dungeon at this level, while you would get much more if you do it on the level you currently are as a player that finished it hundreds of times.

For a totally new cycle-1 player to get a group without the scaling he would have to lie about his experience or find a group that doesnt care they carry a person.
With the scaling, any group looking for easy-mode would want a cycle-1 player with them, this system will encourage veterans to bring newbies along for the runs when they dont want to run the hardest of hardmodes.
Progress with guilds and friends, farm easy mode with pugs.
I don’t care how easy to get it is. What matters is this:
- Everything I might be tempted to farm today will be obsolete soon.
If they keep the pace with 1-2 items a quarter it will take a year for an upgrade,
even if there will be one new piece every month its a non-issue, get real.
Im not bored yet either, and the new content seems to be able to keep us busy for a long time.
Thanks for the 2 months of a great game and a great beta experience Anet. Sorry it has to die off with the introduction of a gear treadmill and a failed Radiance/Resistance mechanic. It was a good run, sad to see it go so soon.
These forums will be so awesome after thursday when all the QQers have made real of their promises and quit the game. no wait, that never happens, they will just find something new to QQ about, my guess is the new primers.
I think they should do exactly what they are doing with Fractal mists, progression with out the gear grind.
I have actually no idea what the rage is about, i think many are just jumping on the band wagon without really understanding whats going on.
But there should be NO DIFFERENCE in the content itself aside from difficulty, sort of like Blizzard is doing with Monster Power in Diablo 3, where you can choose to do the harder version to challenge yourself, but its the same content.
But they are doing this (so far), only in a quite special way.
you can run the instance as many cycles you want, its never-ending, the more cycles you do, the harder it gets so its like infinite harder and harder hardmodes. If you only want to see the dungeon you can do the first couple of cycles that are tuned to exotic gear quality. If you want to progress you can do that too, because it will drop ascended gear that will help you progress. but you wont see new content, only the same as previous cycles but harder.
So far its only speculations that further dungeons will depart from this system
The one question we really havent got an answer to,
“Will the dungeons after fractal mist need gear of ascended quality to complete even on the first run/cycle?”
If the answer is Yes there are two possibilities, either each dungeon brings better and better gear, or ascended has fixed level stats just like all other items have at the moment
If the answer is No, then there arent any thread-mill to talk about as the gear needed to progress is gained by that progress. If you only want to experience the content it will be 100% as doable in exotic gear.
So for the “threadmill” to be real we need to both assume the answer is Yes and that ascended gear will progress in stats, neither assumptions have a basis in reality as for now.
I believe, and hope, that all new dungeons will have the first cycles tuned to exotic quality. Its a brilliant idea giving gear-progress to only those that want it, and the gear-progress is only really usable inside the dungeons.
1.) Acended ring kill jewelry crafting.
2.) It is not “just” one ring or one backslot. It’s a beginning of new Tier gears.
3.) Agony/Infusion mechanic means — if your equipment sux (you do not have enough acended gears), then you are not allowed to do those new dungeons.
4.) It forces you to grind if you want better gears for WvW or if you want to be qualified for the harder dungeons.
5.) Old contents/gears become less useful or even become completely useless.
6.) All these mean whenever Anet pushes a new future, you’ll need to grind new Tier gears again and again.
Ok, i dont think you really grasped the mechanics we’re getting.
You can run the whole dungeon without any ascended gear, its not needed for any of the content or rewards. when you have completed the dungeon you have the option of doing it again, on a harder difficulty. If you like this instance you will run if often and get ascended gear to run it even more cycles on harder and harder difficulty. if you dont like it you can ignore it and wait for the next dungeon.
