Last match: Whole team(!) got disconnect in load screen and got farmed from a premade 500:0 afterwards as a full soloq group. This game is so broken, cant fight words for it. Iam done for today. This aint getting better.
Matchmaking during “prime time” is actually worse than outside of it. Getting matched with beginners who obviously have no idea, dying to svanir/chieftain in a 1vs1, double capping points against premades and groups that have way more experienced players. Today its the same again. 3 games so far and not even one was close.
Go on like this and soloq community will be gone in two or three months. Dont know who had the kittened idea to match soloqers with premades AGAIN. And its not the exception, but rather the rule.

This matchmaking system is a absolute joke, at least for soloqers. On the old leaderboards, it was no problem getting into soloq top50. Now iam sitting on 0 points with 3 wins, 11 losses. Every loss was more or less a blowout. And the best thing is, that ill still getting matched with other soloqers against premades from TCG and other top teams after a queue time of only 1 minute even though my MMR should be kittened up completely after my last games.
Seems its the right time to quit this joke of a pvp system.

Basically removing the achievement requirement during a tournament is an experimental step we took to reduce the incentive for achievement grinding. We want people to play WvW, and not focus too heavily on satisfying achievement requirements.
If we find that players prefer having numerous things to check off a list, then we would certainly take that feedback into account and consider it for future tournaments.
Dear Jessica, your view is absolutely right. Not only we have a small percentage focused to WvW players, now the PvE scrubs want to ruin our league. Even better if they werent any achievement at all. While WvW players that play for the glory of their server and the hope of winning a wreath, PvE players come, boycott the rest of us, the regulars, and now the scrubs have demands also of doing achievements.

If an achievement list is what you want seek it else where, or limit it to eotm only.
We have players spending hours scouting, escorting, commanding, roaming and fighting so we can win and all the PvE players come, without caring for scores or others’ effort and chaotically run around trying to do the achievements.Simply —-> NO.

Typical tier 1 player from a server that recruited even more players for the season even though they were already the #1 of the ladder with stacked WvW players.
As other mentioned there are more than enough servers who would be glad to get some new players to WvW. Sounds weird in your T1 paradise full of bandwagoners, but thats the sad truth in the lower tiers. And Anet is missing this opportunity so hard with this joke of achievements. 10 minute of half afk and back to pve without even seeing something of WvW mechanics.

Have several NA friends on my list playing on EU server and noone mentioned ever any ping issues that had restricted their game experience.
Not to mention that there will be more than enough fights in the gold tier even during the EU night during the season. But still without having huge blobs on every map.

Majority is crying, cause their copy ‘n’ pasted condi bunker build from the internet doesnt dominate like on the other maps. The same reason why spiritwatch is also so unpopular. Hope this map and spiritwatch will stay forever in soloq to have some variety in the boring conquest meta.

Will be so much fun to see all those crybabies after the feature patch when they realise that AR wont fix the the decap issue. Every player who knows a thing or two about this game know this. But still ANet listened to them.
And you will see even more decap engis after the patch cause every other build running this trait (some bunker builds) getting hit more than the decapper. Thats Anet logic for the engineer profession. No plan at all. And thats why i assume engineers will be hit hard even more by the nerf hammer in future patches.

I knew this would happen. They’ve removed one of the few ways engineers had to deal with conditions.. and gave us nothing to compensate.
Worse, it was due to incessant whining in PvP about decapping, but seems to apply everywhere, which means getting owned even worse to condition spam in WvW.
Disappointed… I haven’t played much recently and this doesn’t make me want to ramp up in the future.
The best thing about this change is that even more engineers will play a decap build cause bunker engineer isnt viable with the nerf to AR and without proper condition removal utilities.

I don’t think the map is bad for solo Que or team Que. I think that people complain about it because they don’t want to have to mind their positioning, and play the terrain. The cannon is very powerful, but it has a long pre-fire tell. I usually leave the area as soon as i see it bout to fire. I wonder if people are complaining about the cannon, because they think they should be able to just take it to the face. The fact that you don’t know its the next map can be a problem, but you have to accept the situation and deal with it accordingly.
There is no such thing as positioning in A or C to prepare you for a stealth pull from an engi and stunbreaks won’t save you when they immediately net shot you after the pull.
If you are not able to use your evade when a big, fad red beam pointing at you when you deserve to get pulled of the map. Dont blame the map mechanics for it.
Scorpion wire of the thief is way more complicated, cause where is no animation for it and you have to hope to hear the glass splinter early enough.

This must be a joke or just another sign, that ANet has absolutly no clue where to go with turrets and engineers particulary. The only useful trait is Experimental Turrets. But wich engineer would go 30 points into alchemy?!
Hopefully Skyhammer will last forever in SoloQ. Map mechanics are the perfect counter for the condition bunker meta. No more outsitting the damage on the node while the enemy (preferably glass cannons with direct damage) dies slowly to the applied conditions.
engi bunkers will always take a backseat to warriors and guardians because they don’t have stability to stomp or res or stay on point, which is the bunker’s job.
The standard 10/0/30/30/0 has absolutly no problem to tank every profession on the node as long as the engi knows wich attacks to evade and not just sit on the node and spam #1 of the bomb kit.

10 points into tools for swiftness are pretty useless especially when you can have for that 10 points 100 more vitality points and automated response trait.
If servers are not already dead, they will be with the start of the new season. At least on the mid- and low-tier servers. Bandwagoners can now stack on 4-5 servers and while they sit in the 1+ hour queue they can farm a lot of wxp and badges in EotM with circle raiding.
And its also obvious that people will join EotM in a tough matchup instead of standing their ground as the underdog wich leads to even a bigger unbalanced population und unbalanced matchups.
Dont know what Anet wanted to achieve with such a change to WvW. Its straight into the false direction to keep WvW alive on more than 4 or 5 servers.

Outnumbered buff on 2 of 3 borders most of the time today. Seems half the server takes a few days off after the comeback againts Fort Ranik or the achievement hunters and fair-weather players are already back to PvE.

If you think we are some PvE guild that has never taken a T3 keep with people inside you are surely wrong as a matter of fact one of my favorite things to do is camp people at the waypoint as they spawn in trying to be a hero and save their keep. As said before we rally towards the end of EU prime and there are still pretty large groups going which I have had fun fighting but the fights do come to an end. If you think we have never been on the other side of a server PvDing us again you are wrong hell we would have just about paid for coverage like us in NA. You will see no chest thumping from me but I do hope to the good fights in the time we play when your server is still awake keep on coming.

Feels like back in the good ol´ t1 times against Vizunah Square. Frenchies suck big time during prime time and against even numbers but thinking they are so skilled cause they nightcapped themselves to the lead.
How i hate to play against french server. You can wipe them all night long and it seems, that after every wipe, their numbers increasing even more. They pulled their whole server to FS border and ignored MS border completely. It seems we made them really mad.
The amount of handholding between FSP guilds is ridiculous lol.
Or maybe PunK like to follow the other guilds because they can’t handle on their own..
And this comes from a server where the guilds like teo, inc, ht, chvc and randoms with 8 golems (maybe there were even more) failed hard taking garrison. Maybe you have to hold each others hand just harder next time.

What’s happening with FSP, 1-2 months ago you guys could pressure all 4 borderlands, now it barely looks like you can keep pressure on EB and another borderland, + maybe a small group on the second :S
Living Story and random match-up is what happened. The combination of those 2 has pretty much made every pug we have only log onto EB and even there if someone cool is leading.
No hard decision for our PUGs since our “WvW-guilds” barley cooperate with them lately cause of all this “omg we are more than 10 peeps at one location, we are blobing. spread out! spread out!”-kitten . They rather running on their own without integrating the PUGs, who running uncoordinate over the battlefield as a easy target. So no wonder that our numbers decrease more and more.
You can flame the german servers for “blobing” but they at least integrating everyone to the group and playing together. Something i cant say about FSP.

And now we are getting farmed by PS.25 ticks for FSP as we speak, gg anet. Time for yet another week of PvE! Srsly, this new matchup is system is proving to be horrible for FSP.
The problem is that there are too many sissies on our server, stop playing and flooding the forum with their tears.
The new matchup system is fine. You still can have enough fun and with the new rating system you dont have to win such a matchup to have a positive outcome.

They can make turrets do one million damage and they’d still be useless as they are destroyed in one hit, so whats the point of them taking a utility spot for something useful, not much useful such as things are on Engineer at best..

- reduce the cooldown to a proper timer (~15 seconds except of the heal turret)
They can buff the damage/armor/hp to hell, there will be no viable/competitive turret-build as long as they dont change this. But it seems that they wanna change everything else before they confess it.

What makes it tricky is that if you double-tap the key too early, the overcharge does not take effect, which is why I recommend spamming. Easier to spam than watch animations…
Thats the tricky point, to not blowing up the turret too soon after the overcharge

You do not run away really fast.
Just seems that way because of our tiny legs.
Really we just run as fast as the enemy does right beside us waiting to further punish us or force us into also using 2 dodges.
;)Luckily for me, I am almost always stacking seconds of Swiftness from Speedy Kits. So, I’m always going fast. I just wish they properly fixed runes of speed instead of giving up and just making it +5% MS.

Again, you dont get the water field on overcharging the turret, you get it from the next pulse after the overcharge.
You can still overcharge it immediately to make the first pulse grant the Cleansing Burst.
Doesnt change anything on the mechanic. It just seems that you can use the first pulse if you hammering your keys fast enough.

Oh, it seems like the overcharge is inconsistent. When I doubletap the turret to lay it then overcharge, it seems like sometimes it fires the water field right away and sometimes not.
You have to wait for the pulse after overcharging the heal turret to blast the water field. Just have to time it right, the renewing 3 seconds reg buff from the healing turret is a good indicator for the pulse if you wanna blow it up immediately
oOoooo now I understand why it feels inconsistent. The healing turret pulses every 3 seconds. When you lay the turret, spam the button again to ensure that the overcharge activates on the first pulse during placement. If you miss it, there’s up to a 3 second delay before the overcharge fires. Apparently I was not double-tapping for the overcharge on initial pulse good enough. Spamming rather than double-tapping will work better.
The pulse timer dont start new by overcharging the heal turret. It depends on the time you have placed it and then every 3 seconds, you get a pulse.

I dont know why people keep complaining about zergs either. Bad planning by Anet has made it that those with the biggest zergs will most likely win. Doesnt mean they will win all the time, but they will have better odds.
If people want smaller battles then you are in luck, this week there are free transfers to low and medium tier servers. So if that’s what you want then move there. If by the end of this week you have not, then you only have yourself to blame when you get wiped by a zerg. We’ve all been given a chance to move now, so if you dont that also means you are happy to continue fighting zerg vs zerg.
Just remember that this is only Tier 4, imagine the zergfests in Tier 1.
This coming from KISS, the biggest guild in this matchup. I would be ashamed posting stuff like this.

Arborstone just have more numbers than the other two servers. This has nothing to do with one big zerg versus several smaller groups.
I´m glad that there is a possibility in this game for big groups doing stuff together after dungeons and spvp is already small group stuff exclusively. That the majority complaining about the blobs is just the"Zeitgeist" we have currently in the mmo community that everyone is running around alone/in small groups, being part of a 3 peeps guild and so on.
Trying out a P/P-condition-build without HGH/boonstacking cause of the possible “boon hate” nerf. My utility skills are all selected around CCing peeps to keep me alive so my conditions can do their work.
The FT is absolutly nice for it. The air blast and smoke vent (i love it, that i can use it when iam knockbacked/downed/during stomping) are even slightly op in my opinion cause of its short cooldown, it brings also condition damage with Incendiary Ammo and Napalm Combo Field.Further a detonating Flame Blast can do decent damage if its critting.
Sure the overall damage sucks. But i see it as a situational utility and for that i love my FT.

After killing straglers and small groups on the wall for a while, we decided to do a suicidal push for the catapult. but guess what? Squishie as paper! Phat lewt!
I was really glad for you, that you were able to wipe us at garrison with superior numbers and support of a lot of siege weapon stuff after we wiped you all over the map all evening long. Hope this made up the repair bill you guys got.
I see you are on Gandara (if your signatur is still correct). Seems i have to check FS mill over the next few days, most duels going on there.
Sure you have swiftness for a long time. But the main reason for Invigorating Speed is to have a high Vigor-proc-rate and not to gain swiftness (what is nice nevertheless).
Don´t like your trait selection especially in Firearms. Rifled Barrels are rather pointless cause as P/P you are more or less in melee- to mid-range all the time during the fight, because of the higher damage/more burning stacks of Blowtorch and the reduced misschance of Poison Dart. (In my personal opinion) Coated Bullets are a waste, cause only #1 profites from it, but depends on the personal style.
Also is Invigorating Speed (Alchemy) and Infused Precision(Firearms) missing. Especially as a roamer and for survivability its just too nice to have permanend swiftness and vigor up (what means the possibilty to have at least one evade ready about every 3rd second). Cant imagine my P/P Engineer without it anymore, cause after all you have to stay alive that your conditions can do noticable damage.

Another demonstration of ANet that they dont get the problems with the turrets. Problems are
-terrible AI
-too static (cooldowns)
-too low HP/Toughness (even with traits) in combination with the high cooldowns
and not the damageoutput nor the abilities. As long as they dont fix this, turrets are not competitive enough.

At least Fury improved their playing style. They now hiding behind walls after they got wiped so often from our PUG group on the open field on AG and GH borderland at Monday.
Dual Pistol with permanent quickness/vigor is plain and simple the funniest way to play the enigneer. And there are also different ways to play it, not only with elixiers only (my build is with Flamethrower, Slick shoes and Elixier R for WvW).
1 carrion pistol (earth sigil), 1 knights pistol (corruption sigil)
Best pistol set up is 2xDragonshot at the moment.
Sure you are so much better this week compared to last week because you focus on your borderland. Its more than obvious that UW and DZ ignoring each other most of the time (you can see it best at EB, where DZ dont even treb your side most of the time today) . So pls stop to explain it with “because we are defending our borderland so hard. thats why we have more points than you”. Just lets wait for the next matchup when this kitten DZ server goes up a bracket and we can repeat with decent WvW.
Indeed. FS is dominating the day. At around 11:00 pm, when numbers getting low, Dzagonur getting more and more and dominating the night. UW is somewhere in between.
fascinating how fast the “unbeatable server for a long time cause of its huge presents of numbers” aka Blacktide drop down the ladder. Seems that the bandwagon train already moved on.
we made up a 10k points leeway to #1 in just one day. Fighting spirit is great and we are still well known for our “nasty tactics” as you can read in the matchup threads.
So if you wanna be part of those nasty tactics join our ranks to fight for Far Shiverpeaks.
All those tears from VS cause they arent the kings of pvdoor in the night anymore. Really sweet. Really bad that you guys cant decide a whole matchup through lame nightcapping, isn´t it?

- Immobilize and cripple (glue shot)
- Blind (Static shot, smoke vent from flamethrower)
- Knockback from flamethrower
- 2 knockdowns in a row by overcharging rocket turret
A lot of conditions
- Burning through blowtorch, rocket turret, tool belt skill, firewall of flamethrower and on crit
- Perma poison with only 3 darts hitting (7,2s by 8s of recharge)
- Bleeding (#1, on crit, sigil) Most of the time 5-8 bleed stacks on the enemy with crit luck
- Confusion
mobility/survivability
- Protection on crit
- Invisible on immobilize
- swiftness on crit
- vigor on swiftness
- refilling endurance (elixir r)
- stun breaker (elixier r)
- self-ress while in down state (elixir r)
- All heal skills recharge when under 25% hp
Cure conditions

- tool belt skill elixier r
Some defensive stuff, but its played pretty offensive to put pressure on the enemy. The mobility helps a lot for it.

Turrets should not be improved by stats. They doing quite good amount of damage. This would be too powerfull. The problem of the turrets are that they are getting destroyed too fast to do some decent damage. Some small chances and turrets would be competitive.
My 3 points:
- Reducing Cooldown on pickup
Dont see the point, why turrets have such a long cooldown. Agree with you. When ANet dont want that enigneers spam turrets, then the turrets can have the same amount of hp they had on pickup as long as you place them again until the current cooldown of turrets isn´t expired.
- Turrets need more hp/toughness
One AE of any class and the turrets are gone if you have placed it a little bit to near of each over (what also makes the supply crate “elite” quite a joke). When i compare this to the spirit weapons of the guardian, wich follow you over the half spvp map and are hardly to destroy, than the state of the turrets is a joke. Give them the 30% less damage trait as base state and it would be fine. At least against AE attacks.
- Turrets (still) dont attack the same target
This is so annoying and the most breaking point of the turrets. Its fun to see when your turrets hit a useless pet instead of the player or you overcharge your rocket turret and the rocket don´t knocksdown the enemy, but knocksdown any useless pet around. Dont know if Anet ever will change this kitten.
