Have a nice day.
Just to understand you(OP) correctly. You’re trying to get our sympathy because guys/gals like you are saving the economy and keep things affordable for the average player and, if at all, the average player should be angry at, compared to what “the 1%’ers” have, very small, solid gold sinks for everyone like the daily rewards.
Not going to happen m8. You are not true heroes, as you put it. You just play the game your way and I hope you enjoy it. I’ll assume here, that you’re not into manipulating certain markets to get even richer and that you’re just an effective/clever flipper who has found his/her niche product, has enough wealth to flip for high enough profit and just get a kick out of the high numbers and the “I’m rich, you know” ingame-lifestyle. No problem there, be happy with it.
One of the problems I do have with 1%‘ers in RL and ind in GW2 is the total detachment from the remaining 99% when it comes to mindests and views n the world so to speak. If I had 100k gold and mats stacked in my bank, my playing experience would be very different from the average player. New skins? Sure, I’ll buy them. Oh a QoL upgrade in the Gemstore? Why not, I’ll buy it. The new Meta requires a new set of gear with new stats, *kaching, done, back to the TP.
The average player has to think about the ressources he/she has. I need to set myself a goal, “I want to get a new set of ascended armor”, “I want that Legendary/Skin/Mini/whatever”, then think about how I want to get the mats/gold together and then decide if I want to sink all that time/gold/mats into it. By doing so, I might have to skip something else, or I might have to get something later. But I know, all the daily rewards, the drops from mobs, the gold from fraktals/dungeons, etc. will sum up if I really want to go for it and don’t get distracted.
The small solid gold rewards, the festival bags, PvE-Farms, etc. make all the things on the TP, from dyes to legendaries, from skins to QoL stuff, available for everyone, given enough time invested, i.e. the game gets played. And that’s what keeps a game healthy. Not ppl who log in, buy what they want, then go back to afk’ing/flipping at the lava lounge. Also I don’t think that the 1%’ers are the same ppl who buy gems for RL-cash which is actually supporting ANet and the game.
I tried to find the image where theres a rich guy, a middle class guy and a poor guy at a table with some money on it. The rich dude grabs the lot of it with only few coins left, then turns to the middle class guy and tells him to be weary of the poor guy, he might steal the middle class guy’s money. Your post reminded me a lot of it. If you want to do something for the 99%, take your wealth and manipulate the system so that mystic coins don’t cost 1g, then I’ll thank you. Sell your stacks of leather for a 4th of what it’s going for now, then you’re doing something for the community of the game. Stop bunkering mats and spread them over tyria, the average player has a larger need in mats as only the 1%’ers care for a well filled wallet.
In a nutshell: You’re rich, we know now. Have fun with it. But don’t ask for our sympathy. Don’t fool yourself into thinking you’re doing anything for the community. You’re doing it for yourself, which is legit I think, but don’t expect our praise. Now buy me something nice, always wanted to have that Greatsaw Skin
Yeah.
It’s totally unacceptable that I can’t run M4X|MUM-DPS!11!I|I!!II|||!!!11ONE!!!111|||III!!11!, have awesome stunbreak/quickness/swiftness utility, be condi-proof and a heal-tank at the same time – unacceptable. I paid for this game and therefor should be able to be everything at all the time with all classes without spending another dime – unacceptable…
btw. Can I have your stuff?
Easy-Mode for Raids and Hard-Mode for Dungeons = Lots of fun and playtime for everyone…except the WvW’ers, the PvP’ers, the “I don’t run dungeons beacuse ppl might be mean. No, I never tried it but heard of it” sort of PvE’ers and some others, but you get the idea.
I would never wear a cape, why replace 4 visible skins with some piece of cloth…also, capes are dangerous…
At least it’s not a mount thread.
I’d love it if they “fixed” UW combat…or at least, if they showed a little interest in maybe looking into keeping it on the table when the time’s right…
UW combat, the possibility to explore the underwater regions of the world, makes the game feel more “alive” or “real”. I understood when they kicked UW out of PvP and WvW. But in PvE, where balance is a far less delicate issue? I was really disapointed when they announced that there would be no UW regions in HoT.
So yes. Give us Steve/SBubbles. Give us lakes and oceans with underwater caves and cities. Give us the Largos. Give us an impressive/flashy legendary harpoon gun. All that.
I have control over it. I can stop anytime, if I want to…
Hopefully not.
I actually don’t care if other players have what I have, but I do appreciate if a game has those “I’ve been there when…” items that don’t come back.
Are these the new “Mount-Thread”s?
Everything has been said multiple times now.
If you want what you mentioned, buy it with gems.
If you want to support ANet on a monthly basis, buy gems on a monthly basis.
If you can’t play a game that not let’s you be super special snowflake VIP, leave the game.
(In which case, can I have your stuff?)
Since the chinese version of GW2 is different in many things from the EU/US release, the numbers from china will tell you next to nothing about the odds on a given item in the EU/US.
Unless ofc ANet would state that the odds are the same no matter the version, but I doubt they’ll give us any information about these things.
+1 for this. and it sounds possible, thinking about features already in the game
Had a similar issue here. Not as severe, as i could normally log back in. But still it kept crashing our party of 4 each time we engaged tazza, the boss from SEp1. Happened three times in a row.
Broke the breakbar 5 times in a row, in two attempts, on patch-day.
Since then? Not. A. Single. Time.
I wonder how ANet could give the mobs loot, after their history of removing lootbags from world-boss ads to ensure that ppl focus the darn boss. Organizing and telling ppl what to do, where to stand and when to go for it also doesn’t help. I understand that the players go for the bags, I really do, but it would be best to remove the loot just like the ads at Claw of Jormag don’t give bags/loot.
I think, as soon as they remove the loot from the ads it will be possible to break the brbeakbar again.
So no jubilee celebrating 10 years of rule, but the Pavillion. Maybe it will be more like the next festival and not part of the first LS3 release. There’s the Queen’s Juilale in the brewmaster collection, that’s mostly why i think we could see it again. Plus part of the story is heading towards Kryta and there’s something to celebrate.
…And i really want to test myself against Liadri again, preferably not nerfed, better if returned to original difficulty even.
Ardenwolfe, there’s nothing to win at all and sure as heck not with things that come as a given with ANet and the forums
I bet they could upgrade the Trebs with some Ley-Line tech to fire all the way to Bitterfrost if they wanted to.
- Make all/more utility skills available UW…in the case of Rev, make the Elite available.
- Remove the Aquabreather and merge it with the helmet, or make the Aquabreather actually do something, i.e. you lose air when UW and the better your breather the slower you lose it(from the top of my head, probably not exactly what I want
)
- Find a way to signal key skills you and/or enemy mobs use similar to “the big filled orange circles” we see a lot since HoT.
- Make the deep sea dark and dangerous
- Add a mastery line for UW(global not "only in maps X, Y, and Z) that let’s you: swim faster, cross/enter strong currents(not the map boundaries of course), see in the deep sea, find hidden treasure, whatnot.
- Make UW a PvE only thing until PvP’ers and WvW’ers really scream for it, then think about it again and then maybe implement it into the other modes.
Not reading the whole thread…
Here’s my list:
- Blade Shards
- GH-crystals
- Amalgamated Gemstones
- Chack Eggs
- Metal Plates
- Miling Basins
- Vision Crystals
- Lesser Vision Crystals
- Patches of all varieties
- Papers of all vaieties
- Bloodstone Rubies
- Petrified Wood
- (wahtever will come with the new maps you add that just works like petrified wood or bloodstone rubies)
- Philosopher’s Stones
- Mystic Crystals
- Bricks of Clay
- Crystaline Bottles
- Bags of Mortar
…so much for that.
Give us the kitten keyrings anyway or make the keys storable, but you don’t want to talk about that, do you
Thanks for looking into it, better late than never.
Have a nice day.

@Tom: I’ve been living in a world where girls do play video games for more than 20 years now, thank you.
I’m not a native english speaker so I might not have been aware of haw attrociously abusive my name must have been.
I was implying with the name that it is an easy class to play easy content with, was meant as a joke an certainly not to upset anyone
@Renn: What are you? Tom’s personal fanboy?
Anyway, renamed the char so who cares.
Have a nice day.
So much this.
Wholeheartedly support this. Wanted to go for the item then found out the special effect is bound to the item not the skin…
Having the same issue here.
…and it worked so well before the patch…
I say brag post.
Took a look at the achis the first day, saw that there was nothing to get from the repeatables, didn’t bother about them any longer. All the hard work learning to read has finally paid off…
Will second this.
Experienced the above today. After two sessions in the days beforeof waiting for the temple to be contested at all. Highly frustrating.
Going for the vinetooth item felt great, the map was organized to do the east-chain last and we got the thing done with only a few seconds left.
Doing the devouring the brand chain was a great experience, been playing the game for three years now, still havet done this chain much and it’salways fun to (re)discover these event-chains.
However, if I ever get the item of the champ wraith i will probably remember the waiting, the failed events and the hundreds of elementals I killed while waiting…
I think the legendary scavanger hunts are well executed besides events like these.
Another suggestion would be to make the defense event for Lyssa spawn more often and on a timer similar to how the new maps or world bosses work.
…or tie te item to the corrupted high priestess of lyssa.
pls look into this
This thread is relevant to my interests…
28.8k AP here, reached the cap a month or so ago.
I’m a bit divided on the cap. I can understand the reasoning they had when they implemented it, the whole “newer player catching up” idea, the “AP hunters may get stressed” idea did’t wrk out for me, never did, never will. But as I’m aiming for the radiant armor, it would have been nice just getting there in a forseeable amount of time doing dailies.
Yes, I’m an AP hunter. And yes, missing a daily when it gave me AP was sort of “stressful” and the thought of “whatever, i’ll just rech the cap a day later now” helped a bit with that. But I was always well aware, that it was self imposed “stress”. “Stress” I willingly accepted when I chose “having lots of AP and a shiny to go with it” as my long term goal for this game. I don’t understand players who identify this sort of “stress” as a problem outside of themselves that is ANet’s business to fix/handle/adress.
The problem with the “newer players catching up” idea is, that it does not make sense with the amount of AP they hand out nowadays.
The “core AP”(like weapon masteries, slayer-achivements, story stuff, crafting achivements, regular PvP/WvW/EotM achivements etc.) are the same for all players. The vets have them and the new players can get them.
The AP that come with new content can be done by the Vets(if they’re still playing oc) and the newer players alike.
The historical stuff from back in the days, on the other hand, is gone for newer players. Unobtainalbe, not an option, gone.
Now, the historical stuff from back in the days that is no longer available for newer players used to net way more AP than what they put out now. Flame and Frost gave 148AP, Secret of Southsun gave (me at least) 155AP, Escape from Lion’s Arch 96AP and so on. Wheras Gates of Maguma had 38AP or Out of the Shadows giving 73AP.
Newcomers will only catch up to vets, if the vets stop playing new content. If the vets need to stop playing anyway so new players can catch up, the cap didn’t do much. If the cap doesn’t help newer players to catch up on players who did the old stuff and still are playing the game, the cap can be removed and I get my shiny armor faster.
Or, the cap would make a lot more sense, if the average chapter of a LS would still net between 90 and 150AP.
