Engineer is so lost in where it should be at the moment so we don’t really have a spot for anything- other classes do more damage then us and better support, our twin class elementalist (which also is supose to be jack of all trades master of none) got it all right when engineer got left out.

And did you test it? Shocking speed in raids can’t stand. Did you see how many fields are under boss? Final salvo is better option for superspeed and blasty gyro toolbelt too – safe options. You can use sneaky gyro only for final salvo.

25% daze duration doesn’t matter. If I count how many cc I put on break bar, it always breaked down before I finish my cc rotation. Weaknes and vuln is useless because many classes have it on AA or some skill so boss have this condis permanently.

Inversion enzyme I sometimes use on slothy if our guild teaching newbies. Med kit is still useless until engi take druid spot (they will take you for dps spot -support is ps warr, chrono, and druid) . These specs are offensive support which EG and MK not. (If med kit skills will be aoe, there will be discussable if can be viable)

You have good thinking, you want something what engi should offer (and other classes too) but game doesn’t have it. This build meaby can be usable at WvW.

For raids , engi is dps. There was many kind of builds, one build was taking as much dmg as possible and then heal self + via trait teamates too, or water blasting healer.… if you looking for build, where is rifle, try bomber build (our highest dps build) brainless spamming AA bombs and using Toolbelt skills on cd. Around 33k dps.

Aw kitten now I feel bad. This was ment to be a sarcastic showcase of useless Traits and Skills the engineer have xD But thanks for the advise and your time :P

Here we go! I wanted to make a new build that takes advantage of our new buffs we got with the recent patch and also make us of some really strong trait synergy.

Party buffs/support

I picked up " Shocking Speed " so when someone puts down a lightning field I can use my Jump Shot with the rifle and give everyone superspeed so we all can get to the boss really fast. No time to lose right?

" Shocking Speed " works really well with " Expert Examination " and " Impact Savant " So we don’t only give everyone super speed but we also cause daze with 25% increased duration AND weakness + vulnerability, super strong combo!

Now this is some really strong traits that goes really well together, " Health Insurance ", Inversion Enzyme " and " Stimulant Supplier ". It’s all about Med Kit and Elixir Gun, Elixir Gun converts all conditions the boss will put on your group into boons which makes your Med Kit heal ALOT not only that but going into Med Kit you will drop a healing pack for anyone to pick up!

DPS/selfbuffs

The Rifle got some really strong damage output but it also got a secret way to give yourselfs buffs! Rifle skill nr 4 causes a CC on yourself which you might think is bad but now with the right trait combination you can get fury and 3 stacks of might for free. " Reactive Lenses " and " Gadgeteer " enables this combo, CC yourself is alittle bit bad but I bet all classes has skills that works the same way. Nearly forgot to mention that on the master level in Tools you should pick up " Lock On " so when the boss stealths you can reveal it right away!

Now that I’v explained the really cool combinations you can do with the engineer lets get to the DPS. With the recent buff to physical damage on Rocket Boots and Fire Bomb I figured this is the way to go for pure damage. I’m alittle bit confused on the damage rotation people keep talking about but I did some research. The engineer DPS rotation seems to be alittle bit more difficult then other classes but I think as long you make use of Fire Bomb physical damage and Rocket Boots you should be fine Auto Attacking with rifle, I mean condition necromancers and power revenants work this way why would it be different for engineer.

PS any help with the DPS rotation would be helpful!

how many seconds of block … and what cd ? toolkit is on 13.5 cd if traited … shield is unusable with so long cd …. infact nobody uses it for spvp .

24sec cd on static and 20 on magnetic (traited) infact I’v seen several engineers using shield in spvp.

I’m aware that conditions might be a problem so you have to be extra careful around other condition based players but I always was to begin with, engineers are rather weak vs condibuilds in general in my opinion.

Scrapper is stronger becouse, with the fact that you have a block on hammer and stealth , if u need it on elite, you can play with hammer, sneak gyro and for example take elixir C or purge gryro against condition, then you have 2 skill empty for what you want ..

You get a block with shield aswell but I hear you, everything has it’s pros and cons

Hi, I playing the same Build a long time ago, but with other Gear and it works fine.

1. Condition with P/P, dire armor, trailblazer trinkets and with Balthasar runes
2. Power with Hammer, Berserker Gear, Marauder Trinkets and with Durability Runes

Hey! I’v been trying to make a working flamethrower build for awhile now and after plenty of tinkering and failed attempts this is the build I came up with,

So the main goal was to make something that wont break your fingers and still be able to tag and deal decent damage. “Rapid Regeneration”, “Final Salvo”, “Bunker Down” and “Heavy Armor Exploit” will keep your health up while “Over Shield”, “Recovery Matrix” and “Bulwark Gyro” will reduce incoming damage.

Shield instead of Pistol Off-hand? While Pistol Off-hand is offering two great skills I prefer Shield since it allows you to stack protection and offers daze, stun, knockback, blastfinisher and projectile finisher.

Works great in PvE!

Currently practising running this build in PvP aswell, so far I’v had OK results, next step will be WvWvW.

Well if arenanet follows up on this “purity of purpose” nonsense perhaps they will make FT a real kit like 3 attackchain auto change #2 to a leap make #3 a blastfinisher and make 5# a smokefield. there you go, now you know why you bring FT. Right now use it in a condibuild but not for whole thing only for the “F” ability and blind/knockback

Hello community!

So there are acouple of things I’d like to see improvement on, I bet you guys will agree.

1: Tools Grandmaster triat “Kinetic Battery” there have to be a audio+visual effect with this trait so we know when it’s up and due to it’s long cooldown I’d also like to see the buff last longer, 15sec perhaps.

2: Scrapper Master trait “Expert Examination” needs to be effected by all our CCs now that gryos don’t cause daze anymore or a it could be perhaps reworked to transfer conditions on on CCs? (perhaps to strong)

3:Scrapper Utility “Gyros” I love these things but kitten why are they so slow!? Gyros need permanent superspeed while they are active or perhaps reworked to be objects attached to the engineer like “Function Gyro”

4:Explosives minor and major traits should effect gyros aswell they do explode when they die dont they?

5:Engineer specific group support in general give us something unique that lets us join hightier content without feeling like we are dragging our team down.

For example why doesnt engineer have any special runes tied to our utilities like well/shout/trap/glyph does?

Idea: “Runes of —-—” when a gryo is actived nearby 5 allies next attack causes daze. 20 cd. Gyros clear 1 condition on activation. Stats X/X

“Runes of —-—” when a elixir is consumed reduce the cooldown of all elixirs by 5 seconds. Stats X/X

Why isnt this heal skill just healing you 35% of damage dealt? Kinda defeat the purpose to run a burn build (Which the Berserker sort of is all about) and this heal skill. Rework or trash it please.

Alrighty,

Mode: PvP & WvW
Gear: Berserker scepter/x
Enviorment: Small scalefights (1v1 up to 10v10)

The game play needs to be more rapid and fluid for it to work with damage builds. being able to swap attunements while overloading could be a thing.

The warhorn needs to be faster and have more impact, for example cyclone is not enough CC to land a dragon tooth and lightning orb is way too slow. I also don’t feel the defense from earth is enough, I mean compare it to focus.

As of now I see no reason why I should pick up Tempest at all if I want to play scepter/x

Came up with a hybrid that could be very intresting!

Was thinking of going Staff + Greatsword, 2 glyphs, Equality/Alignment, 2 shouts, Heal as One/Strenght of the Pack and Lightning Reflexes.

Idea: heavy control + team condition clear with focus on the control.

So me and friend were trying out the so called “breakbar” for earth overload and I realized that it’s so easily broken it’s not even fun. Necromancers chill breaks it from just one chill and you get stunned for 2 seconds.

skills that were used: “Suffer!”, Spinal Shivers, Chillblains and Dark Pact (immobilize) removes half of it. What’s the point to even try overloading, is the purpose to stun yourself?

Few things I’d like to see changed:

- add a breakbar for all attunements not just earth overload
- make it possible to change attunement while overloading
- add a trait that lower the cooldown on shouts

Reasoning behind my suggestions:

- without the breakbar it’s nearly impossible to succesfully overload in a teamfight scenario
- not being able to change attunement while overloading leaves you very vurnible and really makes the overloading not worth it.
- The shouts are not even close to being as useful as cantrips

Hey guys!

State 3 things that could make Tempest more fluid to play!

1: being able to change attunement while overloading (without breaking the overload)
2: lower cooldown on “shock and after shock” and add lightning aura to “eye of the storm”
3: breakbar for all overloads!!!

Hello,

So me and 4 of my guildmates were really pump’d for Stronghold beta test and the first thing that happends is that it bug’d out. We all got “Match Ready” stuck on our screens and nothing is happening, not even rebooting the client get rid of this “match ready”.

Bit sad really.

With this you can pull of some great combos making use of Zephyr’s Speed. Favorite one so far wolf f2, entangle, petswap bird f2 while casting signet of the wild, use GS 5 or SB 5 followed by GS 2 or SB 2. If possible I also always try to make sure I have a weaponswap ready for when I go for bird so it gets fury via “Fortifying Bond”. Can’t wait to try this out in WvWvW roaming once I hit lvl 80

For all game modes. Top concerns is: keep pet alive, enable pet to deal damage (soft cc + hard cc) and stay alive yourself.

I’m currently running a bird as my main pet since if they managed to hit they hit hard.

My base build so far is 6 beastmastery and 2 skirmishing. guess rest has to be nature magic then?

Thanks for the respond. I’v found a way to remain in stealth after stealing but it requires me to not face the guy I’m fighting so if I steal with my back turned towards my target it’s working fine. Shame it has to be like this though.

Hey,

I love the idea of this trait since it provides stealth for nonstealth weapon sets like p/p but it’s not working.

When used you get the stealth as the trait says but it doesnt stop the autoattack so you stealth and then just get revealed right away. would be a amazing trait if fixed. Thanks!

Still I think it’s a nesecery step to take, Imagine if making vial of blood was time gate’d. Like Nilkemia said Celestial is not for everyone but it’s really good for some and having it so hard to access is really annoying.

Hello!

I want to ask why there still is a lock on how meny celestial charged crystal you can make per day, I understand why it was there when it released but now?

I think the 1 per day limit on charged crystals should get removed and make quartz crystals obtainible from doing PvP/WvWvW and “Endgame” PvE.

Hmm yeah, I can’t agree that all phantasm are completely broken but it’s kitten frustrating when you succesfully trigger an attack but it doesnt work, iWarden is ment for defensive use which can be crucial on the outcome of the fight.
another thing is illusionary leap and tilted ground but that’s another story ^^

I know warden bugs out sometimes but I have a question regarding summoning the iWarden on turrets, is it 100% it will fail to attack? because it would be a super nice counter to rocket-turret but for some kitten reason it never start it’s kitten attack.

Anyone else experienced the same bug?

I call it “Illusionary bomber” it’s focused around clone death and shatter when you need a little extra “umpf”. The domination adept trait can be swapped to vuln on shatter or 20% dmg boost to mindwreck.
