As of right now legendary weapons are mandatory simply because they will always be best in slot no matter what.
Do you realize that when they’ll raise the level cap (and/or add new legendaries), which they already said they will with an expansion, current legendaries will be totally useless, right?

Yes, they r doin the opposite of what they should do and even i know that without the paper for it. Anet decrease everything that is farmed in any way to prevent grind which makes more grind… Its wrong in many ways to nerf legendary gain since those mats r not legendary unique, in fact they r not only used for exotics but ascended as well now, 3 item ranks with 1 math tier of low rate drop, so wrong…
The bugs aren’t that bad, I’ve seen far worse in my years of gaming. Besides, they have separate teams anyway.
I want new content.
This is sad. Anyway i wouldnt call 2 people a team, there r serious priority issues here. I dont know how many people work on new content, but i doubt that theres only 2 with this speed. A whole island and dungeon, and they stated that in january and february there will be updates big as expansions, so the content team must be big.

That statement is completely false.
The game isn’t perfect, but if you haven’t seen this state of the game video with Jonathan Sharp, I highly recommend it.
How is that false?! The other designer (cant remember his name) already stated in another class forum that only two of em r working on class skills. He was tryin to defend himself againt the rage of the last patch, guess it backfired. The video u linked is about jonathan tellin people “learn to play” while they r tryin to add some useful feedback -.-

Me and my boyfriend spent months experimenting with builds. He always tries to think of ways to make a character OP, I’m thinking about how to make the character interesting for me. There’s millions of different builds you can go for and make your class far from weak. If you don’t feel like experimenting, your problem bro.
Content is plenty and fun and while I wish I could see more maps for PvP, PvP is still awesome, especially when you master your build and pawn people.
Hes right, the game has become a lot weaker than potentially has in it. Also Anet focuses heavily on creating new content instead of fixing existing ones, the diff is so high that the game will never be ~90% fixed before an expension and then the whole thing will start again…

Bots are still in game just moved to new areas out of plain sight into caves farming bats etc, I’ve reported 10 in the past week.
There will always be bots — the question is how many. If the situation is still as dire as you make it sound, then please explain what those “bots” do with their spoils? If they’re still pumping massive amounts into the TP, then we have to conclude that the real player base is either completely inactive or too incompetent to sell mats on the TP.
Actually everything is dead outside of LA on my server and as i heard pretty much every server has the same issue except the highest populated full ones, so without people to farm and the increasing demand caused by new gears the prices will grow endlessly.
You speak mostly of what every new mmo goes through..bugs etc things might not work it’s part of life cycle of a game, every mmo out there went through this, but guess what? it gets fixed and the game goes on. People expecting a 100% working game at the beginning is nuts, and did you actually not expect Anet to not add some type of gear progression at all what so ever? That’s a little naive. The gear grind in this game is small compared to other games, literally, I’ve played games where the gear grind is so bad it is completely out of reach.
Also I am a casual as well and I can still do fractals and do what is needed, you are making the situation worse than it is. Sit back and realize how good we actually have it.
Never expected it to work, ive expected priority on fixing like most games did! What did i get? Focus on new contents, and the shock that 2!!! designers work on balance, hell yea…

No idea why r u guys surprised, it happens in every rpg, literally every even offline ones! Developers r allowed to play their game and when that happens they will like certain things more than others like everybody else, the problem starts when they start to develop without being objective, which happens every time -.-
It absorbs one projectile and then u r able to shoot it back, thats all. I dont think anybody uses it since the current builds have better utilities to choose from, personally i would use it with a reflection build if it worked -.- sadly its not gonna happen since creating useless content is more important than fixing old ones…
This thread is pointless, the whole class is about finding the real one. Anybody who knows something about mesmer can find the real player and thats the reward in figthing a mesmer, if u cannot distinguish them than u deserve to rage over it.
Backstab thieves can kill almost anybody in a second, thats a serious issue with the class and the other thing that bothers me is the initiative system. Add some diminishing return (so noobies dont spam heartseeker for win -.-), like it only does a third of its original dmg after the first use for like 2 or 3 seconds.
imo if the Mug traid gets (his dmg reduced it will be worthless) replaced with a new trait, this will reduce the amount of dmg output from a BS build thief in a short period of time.
As for HS spammers, most experienced pvp players do not dye to it, in fact is very easily counterable. Puting it in your terms, only noobies die to HS spamming noobies.
Never said they kill me, usually dont, but pvp is not 1v1 mostly and they do way too high dmg for no effort! Tried it once, 21k hp and 3k armor still hit me 3-4 k for 3 times…
Just posted in the thief feedback to add some diminishing returns for initiative skill spammin, but this is quite possible! I play a lot spvp these days and thieves still hit 4k heartseeker even when im using survival builds with heavy hp and armor.

Im making a melee ranger, I hear alot of people complain about ranger this, ranger that. People must think outside the box to be competitive.
Look at the D/D Ele, yea in light armor but can solo even a guardian sometimes.

You forget that its the only viable build right now, well u can build it glasscannon but then u will have to stick to the zerg all the time and still not do anything truly helpful.
Anet doesnt like bunkers so that only viable build is gonna be nerfed some time, better use it as long as u still can.

-dungeon grindersand yeah, i myself and “explorer” (casual mind you) would much prefer to finish my 8 dungeon story mode.
but right now its nigh impossible.. so i run a fractal here and there.honestly, i just dont like the idea of fractals (not talking about gameplay here), i dont like how they just dont fit in the story/world.
its totally Diablo 3 rerun farm&grind.
but i think arenanet knew that….
if you talk to the consortium; theyll tell you that tyrian will “rethink how the spend their time” and that they are there for “profit”.
and then in dyssa labs, asuran as stormtroopers and dyssa telling you how bad these fractals are, and why you have to grind them.fractals are a hugely negative blow to this game.
and i feel sad that arenanet couldnt find a better solution to keep players playing.i still like the game, and please, make the dungeon story mode soloable because nobody does them anymore (its near impossible to find 5 people at once…).
Its even worse, wvw lacks players as well, u cant do explorers either since most players grind fractals all day, hell u cant do anything that needs a group! Didnt see arah open on my server since the update, in fact orr has become a truly dead map -.-
Yea, you’re a kitten good player and it shows in these videos, but the damage from Pain Inverter is just stupid, especially for a racial ability.
Hes full condition dmg based, the dmg is normal! Actually confusion dmg is based on the target and not the caster, people tend to forget about it and spam like crazy killin themselves. A simple conditon removal or wait for the 5 seconds and its dmg is 0.
I do know the rendering issue, and it was in spvp not wvw, i also have a 60+ thief… Its pretty much a futile defending the backstab spec when every non-thief main player consider it nerf material.

I performed a backstab hit over a milion dmg, does that mean that my Thief is OP?
No, it mean that I have hit a rabbit only…..I just got killed by a thief and didnt see anything, til he stomped me. The whole thing happened so fast i didnt even have time to dodge… I have almost 20k hp with 2600 armor, am i a rabbit???
How did you not see him ? He was invisible? No he wasn’t.

I explain it to u if u never played a thief, cast cnd→steal→cnd hit→backstab=dead, never saw him since he uses that build because he can time the steal to the end of the cast and u never see him comin, except if hes stupid enough to do it in front of u…

Well, u didnt read… the healing power scale is confirmed, but the scale is so low that u can hardly notice it even with high amount of healing power (i do have a 80 necro).
The vampiric trait part is true i think, the scale is only confirmed for the weapon skill.
Leeching venom scale with power. Siphoning Health does scale with healing power or anything.
Makes perfect sense: Necromancers are OP, they have death shroud, they can generate more life force if they have more health.
Thieves are not OP, they don’t have as much health as Necro or Warrior. They cant possibly get rid of aggro and heal with all their invisibility and shadow stepping skill.

Guess u dont play necro, the scale ratio of siphon health is extremly low (around 0,1 cant remember) and its a “cc me” skill, which leads to the main problem of necro! The necro call doesn’t have burst skills, all the high dmg skills r channeled, anything u try to do and u get an interrupt for sure, or just lose line of sight somehow… actually back to the main topic using auto atk with vampiric crit is better healing than siphoning health! -.-
